00:04Today we're talking about the facelift of the Hyundai IONIQ 5,
00:07which is now launching with more range, new technology and minor design tweaks.
00:13Even though the exterior has only been changed subtly,
00:16there's a lot of fresh stuff under the hood and in the interior.
00:20Four years after its debut, the IONIQ 5 is getting a mini makeover,
00:24but that's exactly what makes it more efficient and comfortable.
00:27Particularly noticeable is the rear spoiler,
00:30which is now 5 cm longer and provides more downforce.
00:34Overall, the IONIQ 5 has grown by 2 cm to around 4.7 m in length.
00:40The look remains largely the same.
00:43A few minor adjustments at the front and rear give it a slightly fresher look
00:47without killing the futuristic look.
00:50Not much has changed inside, but that doesn't have to be the case.
00:53The two 12.3-inch screens are now framed in black and look pretty clean.
01:01The control panel uses classic buttons.
01:05Very nice for people who don't want to do everything via touchscreen.

01:10Your smartphone charges wirelessly directly to the right of the driver's seat
01:14and connects easily to the system via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
01:18This is made possible by the new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit software,
01:22which we already know from the new Kona.
01:24This also includes the plug-and-charge function.
01:27Simply plug in the cable, charge, pay, without a card, without an app.

01:35A small red rocker switch on the steering wheel is new for changing the driving mode.
01:39You can switch between Eco, Normal and Sport.
01:42The differences are clearly noticeable.
01:45Especially when you switch from Eco to Sport, it immediately becomes much crisper.
01:50If you like snow or often drive on slippery roads, you will be pleased with the special snow program.
01:56And you can adjust the recuperation via the shift paddles,
01:59including one pedal drive via the left rocker switch.

02:06Now for the technology.
02:07The IONIQ 5 is available with three engine variants.
02:11All now come with more power in the battery.
02:14The basic model with rear-wheel drive and an output of 170 horsepower costs around âŹ44,000
02:20and has a battery with 63 kWh.
02:24According to the manufacturer, this is enough for a range of around 440 kilometers.
02:28Not bad for an entry-level model.
02:30The next variant is a rear-wheel drive model with 229 horsepower.
02:34The FLF costs just under âŹ52,000 and has a range of around 570 kilometers with its 84 kWh.
02:43Perfect for long-distance fans.
02:46If you're after all-wheel drive, you can opt for the model with two engines.
02:50For just over âŹ59,000, you get a whopping 325 horsepower and a whopping torque of 605 newton meters.
02:59The N-line version costs around âŹ61,000.
03:02For that, you not only get the extra grip from the all-wheel drive, but also stylish new wheels and an electric tailgate on top.
03:12In addition, the new standard Matrix LED headlights provide plenty of light and look great.
03:17The IONIQ 5 also goes even further when charging.
03:22Thanks to the onboard voltage of 800 volts, it can deliver over 260 kilowatts.
03:28At a suitable fast charging station, you only need around 18 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80%.
03:34That's almost like the time it takes to get a coffee and drive back.
03:38The energy consumption is around 18.2 kWh per 100 kilometers.
03:43A solid figure for an electric car of this size.
03:47With 5.3 seconds from 0 to 100, the IONIQ 5 is really fast.
03:53The top speed is 185 kilometers per hour, enough to cruise along the highway in complete comfort.
04:00And with a wheelbase of around 3.0 meters, a width of around 1.9 meters and a height of almost 1.6 meters,
04:10it also makes a pretty good impression on the road.
