00:00Welcome to the new video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:11Today, it's all about the sporty electric sedan Hyundai IONIQ 6N.
00:17The latest highlight of the South Korean brand in the field of electric high-performance vehicles.
00:23With impressive technical data, a motorsport-inspired design and a focus on driving pleasure and dynamics,
00:28the IONIQ 6 presents itself as a serious competitor in the sporty midsize-class segment Stroma.
00:36Following the success of the electric-performance SUV IONIQ 5N, which celebrated its premiere almost two years ago,
00:43the next expansion stage of Hyundai's N division is now following.
00:47The IONIQ 6N is based on the same technical foundation, but combines it with an aerodynamically optimized sedan body.
00:54Two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, deliver an output of 612 horsepower in normal operation.
01:03If you activate the so-called GRIN boost, you get a system output of a whopping 653 horsepower
01:09with a maximum torque of 770 Nm for a short time.
01:13This allows the sedan to sprint to 100 km per hour in just 3.2 seconds.
01:20According to Hyundai, the top speed is 257 km per hour,
01:25which is 3 km per hour less than that of the IONIQ and visually,
01:28the IONIQ 6N stands out significantly from the standard model.
01:31The most striking feature is the large swan neck rear spoiler,
01:36which, together with the wider fenders, is supposed to provide more downforce.
01:43The drag coefficient increases from 0.21 to 0.27 compared to the standard model,
01:49a concession to the sporty design language and aerodynamic measures
01:52that have been optimized for use on the racetrack.
01:55The IONIQ 6N measures around 4.9 meters in length,
02:01is around 1.9 meters wide and around 1.5 meters high.
02:06The wheelbase is a generous 2.9 meters,
02:09which should ensure stable handling and plenty of space in the interior.
02:14The chassis has been fundamentally revised compared to the regular IONIQ 6.
02:19According to Hyundai, this is not a simple tuning change,
02:22but a completely new geometry.
02:25This was extensively tested on the legendary NĂŒrburgring Norshalife
02:29during the development phase.
02:31A clear signal to performance fans.
02:35Electronically controlled dampers ensure that the balancing act
02:38between sporty toughness and everyday comfort is achieved.
02:43Special features such as the SIFT system,
02:46which simulates a virtual gear shift with responsive feedback,
02:49and the active sound system,
02:50which creates an emotionally charged sound during sporty driving.
02:55Bring a touch of classic motorsport atmosphere to the otherwise quiet segment of electromobility.
03:03The N-Drift Optimizer is another tool in the arsenal of driving fun.
03:06It analyzes various parameters in real-time and, if necessary, ensures controlled drifts,
03:13ideal for closed-off tracks or training courses.
03:15Like all vehicles in the IONIQ series, the IONIQ 6N is also based on the modular IGMP platform,
03:23which includes a powerful 800-volt architecture.
03:26This allows the 84-kilowatt NMC battery to be charged at suitable fast-charging stations with up to 240 kilowatts.
03:38Ideally, it only takes 18 minutes to increase the charge level from 10 to 80 percent.
03:42A top value compared to the competition.
03:45Hyundai has not yet published specific consumption and range data,
03:50but a look at the IONIQ 5N allows conclusions to be drawn.
03:56According to WRTPN, it consumes around 21.2 kilowatts, 100 kilometers,
04:01and can travel up to 448 kilometers on a single charge.
04:05Thanks to its more streamlined body, the IONIQ 6N could be slightly more efficient and offer a slightly longer range.
04:14Hyundai is also keeping quiet about the price.
04:18However, anyone looking at the IONIQ 5N should expect to pay around âŹ70,000.
04:27Considering the performance, features and technology on offer, this price seems quite competitive,
04:32especially compared to its direct rival, the Tesla Model 3 Performance,
04:36which accelerates slightly faster but offers significantly less power at 462 horsepower
04:41and pursues a concept that is less focused on driving dynamics.
04:47The IONIQ 6N offers a successful combination of innovative electric technology, striking design,
04:53performance-oriented driving dynamics and everyday suitability.
04:58With features that make the driving experience emotional and interactive,
05:02it is clearly aimed at enthusiasts who do not want to choose between efficiency and passion.
05:08Deliveries of the vehicle will not begin until next year.
05:12But Hyundai is already showing that it is serious about electrifying the N models.
