00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Block, in which we compare the brand
00:10new Skoda Knack with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift. As always, you can find the link to the full
00:17article in our magazine in the video description. The two electric SUVs may seem completely
00:23different at first glance, but their concept is identical. They offer plenty of space and
00:29a long range. While the Skoda Knack has received a complete makeover and now appears with a
00:35new design language, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been revised with a facelift. So it's time
00:41to take a closer look at both models. The dimensions are almost identical. The Skoda Knack measures
00:484.6 meters in length, is 1.8 meters wide and 1.26 meters high. Its wheelbase is 2.77 meters.
00:59The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is almost as long at 4.60 meters, but slightly wider at 1.89 meters and
01:05slightly lower at 1.60 meters. The big difference lies in the wheelbase. Here, the Hyundai offers
01:14over 20 centimeters more than its Czech competitor at exactly 3.9 meters. The price range of the two
01:21models is also comparable. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at 43,900 euros in the basic version with a small
01:28battery. The top model, the Ioniq 5 N-Line X with a large battery and all-wheel drive, costs at least
01:3562,900 euros. The Skoda NJ starts at 44,400 euros as an SUV version, while the coupe is available from
01:4346,850 euros. The most expensive version, the new Jersey 85X, Sportline Coupe, starts at 59,400 euros.
01:55Visually, the two vehicles differ significantly. The Skoda Ioniq now sports the new modern solid
02:01design with LED headlights arranged one above the other. LED lights are standard. Matrix technology
02:08is available as an option. The radiator grille has been made smaller and the aerodynamics have been
02:14further optimized, which is reflected in a drag coefficient of 0.245 for the SUV and 0.25 for
02:21the coupe. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 remains true to its striking design, but has been modernized with a
02:29new grille, revised bumpers and a 5 centimeters longer spoiler.
02:33There are clear differences in the interior. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 benefits from its long wheelbase
02:42and angular body shape, which creates plenty of space for five occupants.
02:50New for the 2024 model year are a revised infotainment system with overlay updates,
02:56physical buttons below the central screen and additional controls on the center console.
03:03There is now also a wireless charging station for smartphones there.
03:07The interior of the Skoda Ioniq, on the other hand, remains largely unchanged.
03:12It offers six different interior configurations and a small digital instrument cluster that can
03:17be supplemented by a head-up display. In terms of boot space, the Ioniq is superior.
03:24It holds between 55,585 and 570 L, while the coupe model has 570 L.
03:31If the rear seat backrests are folded down, the cargo volume increases to 1710 or 1610 L.
03:41The Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers slightly less space in comparison.
03:46Between 527 and 1500 L are available here.
03:51The technical equipment also differs.
03:53The Skoda Ioniq is offered with two battery sizes and three engine variants.
04:00There are the models 60, 85 and 85X, the latter of which has all-wheel drive.
04:06The maximum DC charging power is 175 kW for all versions.
04:12The range varies between 433 and 580 km.
04:16The coupe has a range of 439 to 597 km.
04:21With the exception of the high-performance model with 650 hp,
04:26the power of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 ranges from 970 hp to 325 hp for the all-wheel drive version
04:33and 229 hp for the medium variant.
04:35The range is between 440 and 570 km depending on the power and battery.
04:43Charging is particularly fast.
04:46With a charging power of 350 kW,
04:49the version with a 63 kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
