00:00Welcome to the new video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today, we're going to talk about the V3 Max Electric Skateboard from Meepo,
00:08which offers impressive performance data at a particularly affordable price.
00:13Anyone familiar with the world of electric skateboards has probably heard of the name Meepo.
00:19The company regularly launches new models, and one of the more recent ones is the V3 Max,
00:24which we're going to take a closer look at today.
00:26At first glance, the V3 Max looks very similar to another model from Meepo,
00:33the Go, which is currently being tested.
00:37Both boards share some features, such as the deck made of Canadian maple with a bamboo layer
00:41and an integrated carrying handle, which makes it easier to transport and helps keep hands and
00:46clothes clean. The design of the underside, the positioning of the battery, and the shape of
00:52the controller are also very reminiscent of the Go. And that's not a disadvantage, because at a price
00:58of around 550 euros, the Go delivers solid performance. The V3 Max, on the other hand,
01:05is even more affordable, with an entry-level price of around 475 euros.
01:10The most important difference is the drive system. While the Go is equipped with a classic belt drive,
01:17the V3 Max uses two integrated hub motors with 800 watts each.
01:24This means slightly less climbing ability, a maximum of 22% compared to 30% for the Go,
01:29but also some clear advantages.
01:34For example, the Max offers a regenerative braking system that feeds up to 22% of the braking energy
01:39back into the battery, thereby extending the range.
01:45The system is also easier to maintain, as there is no belt that could be affected by dirt or moisture.
01:51This is an advantage that has already been demonstrated with the similarly designed Backfire Nalu.
01:56The top speed is 45 kilometers per hour, which is absolutely sufficient for an e-board in this class.
02:05Fast enough to have fun, but still within the range of what is acceptable in road traffic.
02:12Protective clothing is of course mandatory at these speeds.
02:16As for the range, Meepo promises up to 32 kilometers per full battery charge.
02:22Exactly the same as the Go.
02:23This makes the board ideal for commuting, the way to the train or to university.
02:29According to the manufacturer, the charging time is less than 3 hours,
02:33which allows for quick reuse in everyday life.
02:37The V3 Max is controlled via handy remote control with four individually adjustable speed levels,
02:42familiar from Meepo's Voyager model.
02:46The thumb wheel is pushed forward to accelerate and pulled back to brake.
02:49Other details include splash protection according to IPX5,
02:55a maximum rider weight of 150 kilograms and a ground clearance of 5 centimeters.
03:02Good for riding through urban environments with small obstacles.
03:05The front wheels have a diameter of 90 millimeters, a width of 60 millimeters and a hardness of 78A,
03:15while the rear wheels are slightly larger with a diameter of 94 millimeters,
03:19a width of 66M and a hardness of 83A for additional grip and comfort.
03:23The Max has not yet been tested personally, but given the values shown and the low price,
03:32it seems like an interesting overall package.
03:34The only question remains whether it is compatible with other tires,
03:38such as those for slides.
03:40There is no information on this.
03:42It would also be interesting to know about the long-term load capacity of the motor and battery.
03:46At least Meepo offers a six-month warranty on the board.
03:52The V3 Max is currently available at a reduced price.
03:55However, it is not known how long the discount will last.
03:59The board should normally cost around 650 euros.
04:03This is something to keep in mind.
