Der Omoda 5 ist der neue China-Crossover von Chery und sorgt seit 2024 auch in Deutschland für Aufsehen. Das kompakte SUV mit einer Länge von 4,4 Metern bietet eine interessante Auswahl: Du kannst dich für den sparsamen 1,6-Liter-Benziner mit 197 PS oder die Elektroversion mit einer Reichweite von bis zu 450 km entscheiden. Mit Preisen ab 26.000 € für den Benziner und rund 37.000 € für das Elektroauto gehört der Omoda 5 zu den günstigeren SUVs in seinem Segment.

Besonders beeindruckend ist die moderne Ausstattung des Omoda 5: Zwei große Displays im Cockpit, 64-farbiges Ambientelicht, kabelloses Laden und zahlreiche Fahrassistenten machen ihn zu einem echten Allrounder. Zudem erhielt das Modell 5 Sterne im EuroNCAP-Crashtest und überzeugt damit auch bei der Sicherheit.

00:21The Omota 5 found its way to Germany in 2024 and, as a Chinese crossover, is bringing a
00:27breath of fresh air to the European car market at a mega discount.
00:33The Chinese car manufacturer Sherry, which has been around since 1997 and is already known
00:38as a local cooperation partner of Jaguar Land Rover, is launching its activities in Europe
00:43with the new brand Omota.
00:46The first model, the compact SUV, will be available as both a petrol engine and a purely electric car.
00:53The petrol engine in particular promises to be a real bargain.
00:57Sherry has made a name for itself in recent years by offering vehicles under various
01:02brand names such as Tigo, Arazo, Jethore and Keri.
01:07Sherry is also one of the founders of the ambitious company Coros.
01:12Back in 2017, they presented SUV models of the XSEED brand for the first time at the
01:17Awe in Frankfurt and now Omota is expanding its portfolio for the European market.
01:21With the Omota 5, the group is primarily targeting young buyers, both in China and Europe.
01:29The Omota 5 is a 4.4 meters long SUV crossover and, with its compact format, competes with established
01:36models such as the Hyundai Kona and the Toyota C-HR.
01:39The design of the Omota 5 looks modern and appealing, with the front dominated by a large radiator
01:45grille.
01:47However, this grille also has a functional significance, because the new SUV will initially be offered
01:52as a combustion engine.
01:55Under the hood of the petrol model is a 1.6L engine that delivers 197 horsepower.
02:00The maximum torque of 290 Nm is available between 1,750 and 4,500 revolutions per minute.
02:12A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission from GetRAG ensures smooth gearing, allowing the Omota 5
02:17to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km per
02:24hour.
02:24The combined fuel consumption is provisionally specified as less than 7.5L per 100 km.
02:35Alternatively, the Omota 5 is also available in Germany as a purely electric vehicle.
02:41The electric motor on the front axle delivers 150 kW and a maximum torque of 340 Nm.
02:50The Omota 5 is available with two battery sizes.
02:54A 41 kWh energy storage device enables a range of up to 300 km, while the 62 kWh version promises
03:02a range of up to 450 km.
03:08The battery cells are from cattle and can be charged to up to 80% of their capacity within

03:14The design of the electric version features a closed front mask and redesigned LED linear

03:25Sherry is also planning a plug-in hybrid version for the Omota 5, although its availability in
03:30Germany is still unclear.
03:32In terms of safety, the Omota 5 impresses both actively and passively.
03:36The model description lists 16 driving assistants, most of which are based on adaptive cruise
03:43control.
03:45In addition, the SUV has a very crash-proof body, which is confirmed by the 5-star rating
03:51achieved in the Eurocap crash test last year.
03:53This underlines the outstanding all-round properties of the Omota 5 in terms of passive safety.
04:02Inside, the Omota 5 offers plenty of space for the driver and passengers.
04:08Two 10.25-inch, visually combined and customizable displays as well as ambient lighting in 64 colors

05:28The electric version is priced significantly higher and starts at around 37,000 euros.
05:36In addition, the Sherry subsidiary brand is already giving a preview of an expanded model
05:41family with the numbers 3 and 7, which suggests further exciting models in the future.
