November freuen!

00:00Welcome to the new video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog on the exciting topic of the brand
00:08new Ducati V2. Before we get started, remember to subscribe so you don't miss any more exciting
00:15news and reviews. Ducati Hattie has impressed and surprised with its new V2 engine. With a
00:23displacement of 890 cc, 120 horsepower and a remarkable torque that almost feels like a 1000 cc
00:30engine, this V2 engine sets new standards. The VN V2 could probably be translated as reasonable,
00:40because Ducati has created an extremely sensible combination here that is ideally suited for the
00:45super sports sector and is also market-oriented and user-friendly. It is a V2 with 2x90 degrees
00:53offset, which deliberately goes against the usual higher, faster, further approach to engine
00:58development. Even though the volume of the two cylinders is surprisingly small, namely 890 cc,
01:05this engine actually replaces two larger predecessors. The Test Astrato with 9937 cc and the Super Quadro
01:13with 955 cc. Interestingly, the new V2 shows a relationship to the Super Quadro, as the stroke
01:21is almost identical at 61.5 millimeters, while the bore is only slightly smaller at 96 millimeters
01:28compared to 100 millimeters. The new V2 engine turns at a maximum of 10,750 revolutions per minute and
01:36reaches its peak output of 120 horsepower. In gears 5 and 6, the engine then turns up to 11,350
01:44revolutions per minute, where the limiter kicks in. The compression ratio of the new engine is an
01:49impressive three, one-to-one. One important innovation concerns the valve control.
01:56Similar to the Gran Turismo V4, Ducati has decided against the classic desmodromic valve control for
02:02this V2 and instead relies on conventional valve control with springs. The camshafts are driven by
02:09a clever intermediate gear, which saves space in the cylinder head. A solution that the Suzuki V2 engine
02:15has also successfully used for over 20 years. The valves themselves have also been optimized.
02:22The intake valves have hollow shafts and measure 38.2 millimeters in diameter, which makes them
02:27lighter and faster. The exhaust valves measure 30.5 millimeters. In terms of torque, the new V2 is
02:36impressive for an 890 engine. The 93.3 newton meters at 8,250 revolutions per minute set new standards.
02:46The torque remains powerful even at very low engine speeds, as variable valve timing on the intake
02:51camshaft ensures continuous thrust. The engine delivers over 60 newton meters from just 3,000
02:59revolutions per minute and this value is maintained even at 11,000 revolutions per minute.
03:05Particularly noteworthy is the high flexibility of the intake camshaft, which can be rotated by up
03:10to 52 degrees in order to optimally adjust the overlap of the intake and exhaust valves.
03:18The system checks the position of the camshafts every 10 milliseconds,
03:21making this engine extremely powerful and responsive.
03:26The new Ducati V2 is also remarkably light. The engine weighs just 54.4 kilograms,
03:33making it a full 9.4 kilograms lighter than the current Superquadro and 5.9 kilograms less
03:39than the test savior. The water-cooled V2 even undercuts the weight of the air-cooled
03:45day modu in the Scrambler 800 by almost 6 kilogram. In addition to the peak output of 120 horsepower,
03:53Ducati also offers other interesting performance figures. With a racing system,
03:58the V2 can achieve up to 126 horsepower with 98 newton meters of torque.
04:04However, this configuration is not approved for road use and is intended purely for racing.
04:09Ducati also seems to be considering an output of 115 horsepower for future adventure models such as
04:16the Desert X, as this engine is set to replace the test Astra in models such as the Monster,
04:21the DZ-X and the Supersport in the medium term. On November 5, Ducati will officially introduce the
04:28new V2 engine in at least two motorcycles and we can't wait to see what happens.
04:34It's quite possible that these will be the new Street Fighter V2 and Panigal V2 models.
