00:00Please welcome back to The Late Show, my friend and yours, Jimmy Kimmel.

00:04It was a late night crossover Tuesday night, as Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert popped up on each other's shows.

00:11With Colbert counting down to his final show ever, and Kimmel coming off what he thought might be his last,

00:19the two sat down to reflect and to roast.

00:23Thank you for having me. I am so honored to be here with my fellow,

00:27a no-talent late-night loser.

00:31Jimmy Kimmel is not a talented person. He had very bad ratings, and they should have fired him a long time ago.

00:37The two poked fun at President Trump's recent insults, with Kimmel calling it the show the FCC doesn't want you to see.

00:45In his first sit-down since being reinstated by ABC, Kimmel shared the moment-by-moment chaos of learning his show had been pulled,

00:52which happened as his audience was already in their seats for that night's show.

00:56I go home, I'm followed by 20 paparazzi cars.

01:00During the taping of Kimmel's Brooklyn show, Colbert opened up about his own goodbye,

01:05saying he couldn't bring himself to tell his staff at first,

01:08and ended up breaking the news moments before telling his audience.

01:12I always messed up on the sentence that told them what was happening.

01:15And then I got to the sentence that actually told them what was happening,

01:18and, uh, they didn't laugh. They didn't laugh.

01:22Late night host Seth Meyers also dropped by that taping, with Kimmel captioning a post of the three hosts on stage,

01:29Hi, Donald.

01:30Meanwhile, late night host Jimmy Fallon said Tuesday on CNBC he plans on avoiding politics on his show.

01:37We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that's really the way our show really works.

01:44Kimmel's sidekick Guillermo joined Colbert and Kimmel on stage of The Late Show,

01:49pouring shot glasses of tequila, and Colbert made a toast.

01:53To good friends, great jobs, and late night TV.

01:59Yeah.
