00:00We know there was federal interference.
00:03When the head of the FCC is talking openly about taking away the broadcast license, then
00:11that is the government trying to exercise censorship.
00:14It's not a question of whether you agree with Mr. Kimmel or disagree.
00:21And I have no problem with it, quite honestly, I mean, one of the things that makes a liberal
00:28a liberal is when they think they're smarter than everybody else and they can say any dang
00:32thing they want because they're so brilliant and everyone ought to listen.
00:35And by the way, if you're not one of those people, you're the liberal that wants somebody
00:37to tell them what to do.
00:39And I think some of these people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are getting what the market wants
00:44and he's getting what he deserves.
00:46I don't know about FCC, but am I concerned about it?
00:50No.
00:51I think that the censorship is spreading like cancer in this country.
00:57we need to speak out now or we're going to sacrifice free expression and the First Amendment
01:02taking Kimmel off the air was not only premature and precipitous, it was a violation of basic
01:14standards of free expression.
01:16ABC made the decision that his comments were inappropriate.
01:21Charlie Kirk was a friend.
01:22He, I was on a show every week and father, husband, he really energized a lot of young
01:32people.
01:33And so, you know, any, any, I don't get, I don't get the inappropriate comments about
01:39anybody's death.
01:40But ABC made the decision.
01:41And there's no doubt that for business reasons, someone can say, I don't want to give you a
01:47platform anymore.
01:48But that's not what happened here.
01:51We saw the government step up and give a hard shove.
01:55And then we saw a compliant company turn around and suspend Mr. Kimmel.
02:03And that truly undermines the whole premise of the First Amendment.
02:09A veiled threat occasionally, maybe, you know, if that's what scares off ABC, maybe they
02:15need a little bit of a scare.
02:19When it comes to the merger itself, I don't know a lot about it.
02:22I do know that the concentration of liberal communications companies isn't great for America.
02:29But again, it's a, it's a nice liberal thing to do, consolidate power.
02:33Really, really worried about it.
02:35I, I'm, I'm just amazed that the powerful entities like whatever the TV station was that
02:39he was on, they just caved so fast.
02:41I, I feel like the, the, the, the wealthy businesses and the leadership class is showing
02:47a complete lack of backbone.
02:49Satire, humor, comedy are the stuff of political expression, not just entertainment.
02:57And this kind of heavy-handed, ham-handed censorship is going to be a whirlwind that will come back
03:07to haunt the chairman of the FCC and others.
