00:00Late night host Jimmy Kimmel is speaking out about the current political climate,

00:05revealing he's obtained Italian citizenship during a conversation about people leaving

00:10the country over Trump's presidency. But he's also calling out what he calls repulsive voices

00:16that are repelling people from the Democratic Party.

00:21On the Sarah Silverman podcast, Kimmel said he recently secured Italian citizenship during a

00:28conversation about people leaving the country over President Trump.

00:32A lot of people I know are thinking about where they can get citizenship.

00:38I do have Italian. I did get Italian citizenship.

00:41You do? Oh, that's amazing.

00:44I do have that. And what's going on is as bad as you thought it was going to be.

00:50Way worse.

00:51It's so much worse. It's just unbelievable.

00:54But Kimmel also turned his criticism toward what he called wild voices on the political left,

01:01saying some outspoken liberal figures have alienated people from the Democratic Party,

01:06but refrained from naming names.

01:09But it's not it's not the party. It's not the majority. It's it's the loud voices that

01:15that scare people from saying what they believe. And, you know, a lot of their points are valid,

01:21but a lot of them are also just repulsive. And I mean, they were in that they repel people from

01:26they go like, oh, you're no fun. I don't want to be around you. And I think that if you had to boil

01:31it down to like one thing, that's kind of what it is. It's like like, oh, you're no fun. I don't

01:36want to be part of your group.

01:38The discussion also referred to podcast host Joe Rogan, who supported Trump in 2024,

01:44but recently criticized the president's deportation policies.

01:48Kimmel said he doesn't believe in shunning people who have shifted their political views,

01:53saying those who break with Trump are welcome in the Democratic Party.

01:58If you want to admit you are wrong, that's so hard and so rare to do and brave.
