00:00Gabriel Bortoleto right on his tail. Bortoleto hasn't stopped in the race yet.
00:05So, at the moment, let's look at the net effect here, Coffty.
00:09The first of the cars who has pitted is Olive Behrman now, isn't it?
00:15In seventh place. The top six are yet to pit on the slap of the stage.
00:22So, you've got Behrman and Antonelli, the first two cars who have pitted.
00:25Behrman at the moment, so his gap is, he's still clear of Verstappen.
00:32So, if Verstappen pits now, he will come out behind Olive Behrman by three or four seconds.
00:37So, that's what Red Bull are now looking at, is can they try and create a gap?
00:44But, obviously, Verstappen's tyres have now done 26 laps, and Behrman show that he's no slouch.
00:49He's got pace in this race.
00:50Absolutely. To be fair, I think Verstappen's doing a decent job on those medium tyres from the outset.
00:54Now, we saw Piastri get past Albon, Hamilton's going to get past Albon.
00:58Those hard tyres don't look very good at all.
01:01So, a Williams is passed, and another Williams gets a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane,
01:05and that's Carlos Sainz.
01:07Meanwhile, Bernie Collins, what's going on over your shoulder at Sauber?
01:10Yeah, there was a few minutes of a pit stop for Nico Hülkenberg, unfortunately,
01:14and they've asked him to power cycle the car.
01:16They brought the old starter that they used to have out, but nothing going.
01:20He's been pushed back into the garage, unfortunately.
01:22And so that looks at the end of Nico's day.
01:24It's such a shame he was having power unit issues on the formation lap.
01:27There he is, Nico Hülkenberg, into the garage.
01:31He was back in the points, wasn't he?
01:32Last time out in Austin with that eighth-place finish.
01:36But it is a retirement, or it looks like a retirement from this race.
01:40The belts are off, and he is clambering out of the car.
01:44And Oli Behrman is gaining on the medium tyre runner of Isaac Hadjar.
01:48And those tyres on Isaac Hadjar's car have been on for 26 laps right from the outset.
01:54So I dare say Oli Behrman might just fancy his chances here of making a move down the main straight.
02:01And he'll certainly have DRS to aid his moves as Esteban Ocon moves out of the way
02:07and gets into the pit lane for his stop.
02:09And here comes Oli Behrman, and this will be for fifth place on the road.
02:13And it's an easy fifth place on the road.
02:15Hadjar slots behind him, tries to pick up a slipstream,
02:17and in doing so, preserves his position ahead of Antonelli.
02:21Meanwhile, Antonelli's team-mate George Russell has made the move on Gabriel Bortoletto,
02:26and he's up into eighth.
02:27George Russell, by the way, fastest man on the track currently.
02:30Yeah, no, Antonelli's having a go on Hadjar.
02:31He will have DRS.
02:33Hadjar's wing, as you can see, closed down.
02:35Hadjar not making the defensive move.
02:38And that's right, because his race isn't really with Antonelli.
02:40He's in a different race in terms of their strategies there.
02:43But just having Hadjar slot in between the two cars,
02:48he helped Behrman through those first three corners
02:52to get a little bit of breathing room,
02:53because his former F2 teammate, Antonelli, was right up behind him.
02:58And it's just given him a little bit of space to breathe.
03:00Right.
03:01We're only on lap 29 out of 71 here,
03:04and I do not want to put the jinx in any way on this.
03:09But is this a time to start talking about a potential Behrman podium today?
03:13And not just his first podium in Formula One,
03:16but in their 210th Grand Prix, a first podium for Haas as well.
03:22I would love to see it happen.
03:23That's all I'm going to say now.
03:25I don't want to jinx it anymore, because he's driving well.
03:28The car looks competitive.
03:29He qualified in the top ten, showed pace,
03:32and he's matured a lot this season.
03:35He scored two points finishes on the road.
03:36We spoke to him on the grid,
03:37and he's looking for his third points finish in a row.
03:41As we see Piastri going past Bortoleto.
03:44That's Candy from a baby with his DRS open.
03:47That's not for a net position.
03:49No, Bortoleto hasn't pitted yet.
03:52But we watched there the two Williams making a swap-a-roo.
03:57Sites up into 12th, and that is George Russell down the inside.
04:01Oh, and Isaac Hajar, and once again, Hajar is not really racing.
04:05George Russell doesn't fight that too much.
04:08Next car up the road, by the way, ahead of Holly Behrman,
04:11is Yuki Tsunoda,
04:12who was the driver that he got rather irked by in Austin last time out,
04:16and felt that Tsunoda was moving under braking.
04:20We'll see what happens when he gets a bit closer to him,
04:22and he's catching him by about a second and a half and more per lap.
04:27That'll be Sainz speeding in the pit lane.
04:30And he gets a five-second penalty for doing so.
04:33The car is jumping in the pit lane.
04:35I don't know why.
04:36I think it's jumping in the pit lane.
04:38Like something's broken.
04:39Like the vibrations on the pit lane, on the pit lane.
04:43It sounds like he's saying there's some sort of electronic issue
04:46that meant that the car wasn't just sitting at the speed limiter.
04:49It was sort of bouncing up and down above and into,
04:53above and into the speed limit zone.
04:56So, yeah, unfortunate for him.
04:57Here comes Piastri on Hajar.
04:59So this should give him a clean move down the straight.
05:04Well before the braking zone.
05:06As further back, Lewis Hamilton goes past Gabriel Portretto.
05:09So now Piastri is in a straight fight back with George Russell.
05:13The gap between them, Crofty, one and a half seconds.
05:16The battle with Piastri and Hamilton, I think, will go to the end on this race.
05:20I think they'll converge together, or should do, by the end of this race.
05:23The other McLaren-Ferrari battle is being won handsomely by Lando Norris currently.
05:30Sixteen and a half seconds.
05:31The gap between himself and Charles Leclerc out in front.
05:35He'll lead the championship by seven points at this rate come the end of it.
05:40But the way he's going, Lando Norris, and the way he's lapping, by the time he thinks about a pit stop, he might be more than 22 seconds ahead, which is what you lose when you come in.
05:49He's doing this weekend what he didn't do in Baku.
05:51When Piastri was having a bit of a shocker, he didn't capitalise.
05:55He only finished seventh there.
05:57This time round, he's doing everything right so far.
05:59Pole position.
06:00He's opened up.
06:01I have to say it's nearly a pit stop now over Charles Leclerc.
06:04It's been a devastating pace from Lando up front.
06:07And they've decided that Ferrari now is a very good time to bring Charles Leclerc into the pits.
06:12Max Verstappen is a fairly lengthy distance behind.
06:16We're on board with Lewis Hamilton and his teammate Charles Leclerc being told a box.
06:21But he's carried on, Charles Leclerc.
06:24So whether that was a delayed radio message or not, I don't know.
06:27But Leclerc has just gone through the first sector.
06:29Either way, Hamilton is going to get past Isaac Hadjar, who is a big fan of Lewis Hamilton.
06:33And why not?
06:34He is a seven-time world champion.
06:35And we'll probably wave to him to say hi as Hamilton goes past.
06:39Let's go back down to the pit wall and talk Max Verstappen.
06:43Bernie.
06:44Yes, indeed, Crofty.
06:45Max Verstappen looking at his race to see what's happening.
06:48He has now been undercut by the two Mercedes drivers, Russell and Antonelli, and, crucially, Piastri.
06:56So if Verstappen stops now, he would actually come out behind Hamilton, who had that penalty.
07:00So Max's strategy at this stage, I think from GP's point of view in the competition on the pit wall, is a one-stop, extend, extend, build a tyre delta, put the soft on at the end, which should be better, and then try and push through the field.
07:15Bernie, that sounds absolutely spot-on for Max Verstappen as Charles Leclerc pits.
07:20Is anyone thinking of a two-stop in this race?
07:24I think from the numbers I have, Crofty, with that 22-second pit loss, it is very detrimental.
07:29I think there's a few cars that may need to go to it because they stopped very early, Carlos Sainz being one, Kimi Antonelli is the next one to maybe have a look at it.
07:38So a lot of the Behrman podium potential relies on what Kimi Antonelli has to do.
07:44Can he make that stop work, one-stop work, and is it just all management, and that will allow Behrman a better opportunity?
07:49And also what Oli Behrman can do for himself on the track, and on this particular lap, lap 32, it's getting past Yuki Tsunoda and moving back up into fourth place.
07:58Yeah, a good clean move there from Behrman, and he's now only a couple of seconds behind Charles Leclerc in the works Ferrari.
08:05Obviously, he's had the benefit, Behrman, of driving on brand-new tyres now for seven laps, and, you know, now he's at a slight tyre disadvantage.
08:14You expect Leclerc to open up that gap, but all that said and done, it's great to see him running there on merit in terms of pace.
08:22Yeah, I think, I get the feeling Ferrari, that's Oli Behrman's dad, as tense and as nervous as any racing father would ever be, I am sure.
08:34And I think Ferrari have pitted Charles Leclerc there because of the progress of Oli Behrman.
08:38If they'd left it a few laps, then Behrman might have been ahead. I think they had to cover off the hats, right?
08:47Remind me what driver programme Behrman's a part of.
08:49Well, it's the Ferrari driver programme. However, you are a young 20-year-old man and grateful to Ferrari for all the faith they put in you.
08:58But are you going to stay behind Charles Leclerc if you can avoid it? No, of course you're not.
09:02No. Lando Norris, by the way, has a 28-second lead over Verstappen, so he can have a nice, comfortable stop.
09:08As we see, Kimi Antonelli blast past Yuki Tsunoda up into Turn 1.
09:12Yeah, Tsunoda really going off of the medium tyres. He's lapping in the 124s and the high 124s, Verstappen in the low 123s.
09:21To be fair to Verstappen, now he's running in clean air and not getting affected by the car in front.
09:26He's putting in some really good lap times. That's George Russell on Yuki Tsunoda.
09:30In fact, his last time, and Norris might be managing the pace, I don't know, but Verstappen's last lap was only a tenth of a second slower than Lando Norris.
09:40So he's maybe gone through a bit of the graining phase, and it's coming to them a bit in terms of what Max can do in this race.
09:49Piastri is now right on the tail of Tsunoda.
09:51You can see it in the distance as we watch from the rear wing of George Russell's Mercedes.
09:56And there is Piastri. It's a very short straight down to Turn 12.
10:02Has he got enough of a tyre advantage here to make a move? No.
10:06He thinks against it on this particular occasion. I dare say he'll get him down the main straight.
10:10Seventh will soon be his.
10:12And Tsunoda's so slow at the moment, and he's in the 24s on the last lap.
10:17I'm a bit confused by this strategy, because if they pit him now, he's going to come up behind Alonso in 15th.
10:23Yeah. I'm not entirely sure what they are trying to achieve.
10:28Waiting for a safety car. I guess, maybe.
10:31Here comes Piastri on Tsunoda. There's your pace difference between the Red Bull and with DRS, the McLaren.
10:36And Piastri is now back up into seventh, where he started.
10:39Now, as he does that, Lando Norris is told that it's about time he came into the pits.
10:44And even if you take off the 22 seconds that you lose for a pit stop here,
10:49the gap would be 23 seconds between Norris and Piastri by the time he comes into the pits.
10:56Right. Let's ride on board with the race leader as he dives into the pits here.
11:01He's got another car in front of him.
11:04I think it was Gasly. It is Gasly.
11:05Yeah. So here we need a nice, clean stop here from the McLaren pit bull,
11:11and that is a good clean stop.
11:12There'll be a sigh of relief on the McLaren pit bull there.
11:162.6 seconds. That's enough.
11:17They don't need a 1.9. Just make a nice, safe stop, and he's on his way here.
11:22Yeah, no hassles with that.
11:24They still had to have a couple of goes on the front right wheel gun to untighten the nut.
11:30But, well, out he comes, clear of that car that's making its way,
11:34or was through the heat haze, and that was Max Verstappen.
11:37So Lando Norris is on for a pole win lead every lap scenario here.
11:44I've got more players here.
11:46Okay. Well, you're free to overtake.
11:49Yeah, well, no team orders down at Mercedes.
11:52George, you have to do it all yourself, is the order there.
11:54Yuki Tsunoda is just having that sinking feeling of being passed by a lot of cars
11:58as George Russell gets very close to his teammate,
12:01and behind them Lewis Hamilton comes through and up into 8th place.
12:04And don't forget, if you're just joining us, I'll remind you,
12:07he's had a 10-second penalty for leaving the track
12:10and gaining an advantage in the early stages of this race.
12:14Yeah, I mean, I tell you what, I feel sympathy for Yuki,
12:17because that is, I've been in those situations
12:19where you're on a different strategy to other people,
12:21and you're just falling back through the pack as a driver in the cockpit.
12:26It's a really demotivating feeling, to be honest.
12:29Yeah.
12:29You know, he's seen Birmingham door pass, Antonelli, Russell,
12:32Piastri, now Lewis, all these people are just passing him.
12:35And there's nothing you could do.
12:36You're just hanging on with a car that has no grip
12:39and just getting more and more and more frustrated.
12:42As Fernando Alonso looks like he is being retired from the Grand Prix.
12:46Early bath for Fernando Alonso, who was running down
12:50in the lower reaches of this race, and that's a big disappointment for him.
12:55We lost Nico Hülkenberg for his first official did-not-finish of the season.
12:59This will be Fernando Alonso's first DNF since Monza back in September.
13:04Bernie, I'll tell you, I'll go to Bernie in a couple of seconds,
13:07just because George Russell will have DRS down this main straight,
13:11the long 1.2km straight, behind his teammate Kimi Antonelli,
13:15says he's got more pace, and he would dearly like to be able to show that
13:18ahead of the other Mercedes, but he's still going to have to fight that one.
13:24OK, George, so let's manage these front brakes for a lap or two.
13:28We've got a Ferrari and a hatch ahead.
13:29We can fight for the podium here.
13:31I know, I do need brakes at the end of the race, though.
13:34Right, they're thinking of the long term here.
13:36Brakes are overheating, a bit of lift and coast needed,
13:39and not just to keep the tyres cool, too.
13:42It's only Behrman managing his pace.
13:44He and Antonelli and Russell all lapping within a few one-hundredths of a second
13:48of each other currently.
13:50There's the Haas ahead of the two Mercedes,
13:52and right behind them, Oscar Piastri is coming back to this battle,
13:57and you get the feeling George Russell's a bit worried here
14:00because Antonelli's pace is not allowing George Russell to scamper clear
14:05because he's just quick enough,
14:07or to scamper clear a bit faster because his teammate's not fast enough,
14:11if that makes sense to you.
14:13I knew what I was trying to say.
14:15I'm glad you did.
14:15All I'm saying is Antonelli's pace is allowing Piastri to really come at George Russell.
14:21Let's head down to Bernie Collins.
14:23Yes, hello, Crofties.
14:25I just wanted to pick up on the Cynoda strategy a little bit that Corinne mentioned.
14:28It's actually exactly the same strategy that Verstappen is on.
14:32It's just showing the power of where you qualify.
14:35So he was only two tenths slower in the laps before he encountered all that traffic,
14:39and I think they're keeping him out there because slowing that traffic,
14:43even a little bit, is helping Verstappen later on.
14:46It's just bringing that traffic a little bit closer to the edge of Verstappen's window.
14:50So anything he can do is helping,
14:52but it just shows the power of qualifying position
14:54because he was only two tenths slower than Verstappen before that happened.
14:59Yuki Tsunoda finally is able to get rid of those medium tyres,
15:03and he pits after 36 laps on a set of tyres I don't think he liked very much.
15:08This is Esteban Ocon making a move on Alex Albon,
15:11or certainly trying to, going the long way round,
15:14just about, keeps some tyres on the track,
15:16and that was nicely done by Esteban Ocon,
15:19but Alex Albon was waiting for it,
15:22got inched ahead on the next straight
15:25before Ocon had the inside line to take that position,
15:28position number 12 on the track.
15:30That's great clean racing.
15:32I really enjoyed watching that,
15:33because they were both respectful and kept the clay,
15:36no banging, and a great move by Esteban Ocon.
15:39Other than the tacos,
15:40I'm not sure Fernando Alonso will feel a need
15:43to want to come to Mexico City next year.
15:46I've got a... McLaren up my...
15:49One bit left past.
15:51No, thank you.
15:52That's what...
15:52I'll have to check it.
15:54That's what I was saying.
15:55George Russell wants his teammate to get a move on here,
15:57and he's feeling a bit vulnerable.
15:58That's Alonso's third failure to finish here in three years.
16:04So, the third consecutive DNF.
16:06Max Verstappen has pitted.
16:08Where's he come out onto the track?
16:10Comes out behind Lewis Hamilton in eighth place.
16:13This is a fiery, George Russell, isn't it?
16:16We're seeing in that Mercedes now.
16:17This is no longer the, you know, the domestique.
16:22George Russell, who blindly does everything the team says,
16:25he's, you know, he's the team leader there.
16:27But also, I think he's been slightly,
16:30as we see Stroll going past...
16:32Albon.
16:32Albon into turn one.
16:34I think he's been slightly burnt
16:35by this whole contract process.
16:39I'm happy to give the position back to Kim.
16:41If I can't, I'll overtake them.
16:44We're just compromising both our races here.
16:47I want much more pace here, guys.
16:50The trouble is,
16:51Mercedes allow their drivers the freedom to race each other.
16:55But I do...
16:56Look, you're right.
16:57George Russell is now...
16:58I'm the team leader here.
17:00I'm the contender in the championship still,
17:02albeit mathematically and not possibly realistically.
17:06I've got the championship leader right behind me.
17:08I can make up a few more points,
17:09but also I can preserve my standing.
17:12And I get the feeling
17:13that his mood is not going to improve much
17:15in about a kilometre's time.
17:17Because Oscar Piastri is way closer to George Russell
17:20than he has been in this race so far.
17:22Here comes the McLaren.
17:2323 kilometres an hour of extra pace.
17:25George Russell's got DRS2.
17:27Russell just chinks over
17:28towards the inside a little bit
17:30to preserve his line.
17:31But lap by lap,
17:33he's preserving it by less and less.
17:35Yeah, Piastri's right, right there, isn't he?
17:37And if by chance
17:39Russell just drops a couple of tenths more
17:41in the stadium, say,
17:43out of DRS2 to Martinelli,
17:45Piastri will get him straight away.
17:47So he's in a pretty vulnerable position, I think.
17:52I also think,
17:53looking towards the last ten laps of this race,
17:55now that Max Verstappen's on the soft tyre,
17:57don't be surprised if he's got past Lewis Hamilton
18:01on a better tyre,
18:03and don't be surprised if he's right on the tail
18:05of the battle that we're watching now.
18:07Yeah.
18:08And Russell would like to be a bit clearer of that
18:10as well if he could.
18:11And the only thing Mercedes can really do for him,
18:13you know,
18:14in terms of,
18:15we'll do this for you,
18:16it's not you doing it for us,
18:17is letting him past his teammate.
18:19Now,
18:19there will be a lot of people saying
18:20Kimi Antonelli has every right to be in fourth place
18:23because he's run a better race so far.
18:26That's the quandary
18:27that Mercedes have.
18:29Yeah,
18:29Hamilton's
18:30not really
18:31come to the back of this pack,
18:33has he?
18:33You know,
18:34I'm a bit surprised by that
18:35because the Ferrari was a faster car
18:38than the Mercedes all through the weekend.
18:40We saw him qualifying,
18:41they started second and third.
18:42And
18:43it looks like Lewis has just
18:45dropped back
18:47in this stint on the mediums.
18:48Piastri's just dropped back a little bit
18:50on that lap
18:50by about three tenths of a second.
18:54Just
18:54whether he needs to
18:56to help his brakes
18:57a little bit.
18:58Yeah,
18:59I mean,
19:00you know,
19:00we can now see
19:01the net
19:02third,
19:03fourth,
19:03fifth,
19:04sixth,
19:04all in shots together.
19:06That battle for the podium
19:07is on.
19:08Absolutely.
19:09When the pack is so tightly
19:11bunched together,
19:12still 31 laps to go.
19:14Verstappen to Piastri
19:15at the moment,
19:16Crofty,
19:16is 11 seconds.
19:18So,
19:19you know,
19:1911 seconds,
19:2131 laps
19:22with the Lewis Hamilton
19:23Ferrari in between.
19:25It is a bit of a tall order
19:26for backs to do it,
19:27but he is on the faster
19:28tire.
19:29Now,
19:30there is our race leader,
19:31Lando Norris,
19:31on lap 40,
19:32just to show you
19:33that he is still
19:34in this race,
19:35and he's very much
19:36in this race,
19:36and he's just having
19:37the most beautiful
19:38Sunday in Mexico City.
19:40So,
19:41rear surface temperatures
19:42are sky high.
19:43George,
19:43let's get these under control.
19:45Mark,
19:45I've got a car
19:47in my
19:47okay?
19:50The car much quicker
19:51than ours.
19:52I'm trying to
19:53halt position.
19:54I've got much more
19:55pacing in me here,
19:57and we can fight
19:57for a podium.
19:58I'm happy to give
19:59the position back
19:59if I don't achieve it,
20:01but my tires
20:02are just getting
20:02f***ing sacked here.
20:05And behind him,
20:06Piastri,
20:07I think,
20:07is suffering.
20:08He's getting these tires
20:08to the end of the race.
20:09He's suffering a little bit
20:10as well.
20:11Now,
20:11I see everything,
20:12hear everything
20:13that Marcus Dudley
20:14is saying there,
20:15and he's right,
20:16because he's watching
20:16all the temperatures,
20:17but what do you do
20:18if you're George Russell
20:19at this moment?
20:20Oh,
20:21now,
20:21now comes the call.
20:22Yeah,
20:23honestly,
20:24I think they should have
20:24swapped it five laps ago.
20:26When George said,
20:28you know,
20:28I'll give it back,
20:29that this call
20:30should have been made
20:31a long time ago.
20:32and I'd rather get the feeling
20:34that Oscar Piastri
20:36might have been
20:37a bit wiser
20:38to that one there
20:39and could have
20:39dived down the inside
20:40on Kimi Antonelli.
20:41Oh, great.
20:43Well,
20:43yeah,
20:44George Russell,
20:44not a very happy man.
20:45He's now chasing
20:46Oli Behrman
20:47for that podium.
20:49Piastri should have been
20:49a bit wiser to that
20:50for me.
20:52Antonelli was always
20:53going to move over
20:54to defend
20:55once Russell went past him
20:56and leave a little bit
20:57of a gap down the inside.
20:58But you've got to go for it
21:00in the position
21:00that Piastri's in.
21:01Maybe,
21:02but it's risky
21:02to knock his front wing
21:03off as well.
21:04He's looking at
21:05at least some points
21:07now, isn't he?
21:07I get it.
21:08I think the risk
21:09of the reward
21:10was quite high.
21:10But, yeah,
21:11I'm confused
21:12by that Mercedes decision.
21:14If you were going
21:14to make the decision
21:14anyway,
21:15just make it
21:16five laps earlier
21:17so Russell
21:18hasn't cooked his tyres,
21:21hasn't sent
21:21the rear tyres
21:22sky high,
21:23has more time
21:24to catch and pass
21:25Behrman.
21:26You've kind of
21:27made a
21:29the best of both,
21:31you know,
21:31well,
21:31a bit of a mess
21:32of it really.
21:33But we'll see,
21:34they've still got time
21:34now to bring the tyres
21:35under control
21:36and do all of those things,
21:37but I just feel like
21:38they've wasted
21:38five or six laps there.
21:40Yeah,
21:40Toto Wolff not with us
21:41here in Mexico City
21:42this weekend.
21:43Bradley Lord is the
21:44team representative
21:45and taking on
21:47a lot of the duties
21:48that Toto would
21:49normally have.
21:49As I understand it,
21:50he's not the one
21:51that would make the call.
21:53There will be
21:53a discussion
21:54with the senior
21:55engineers as well.
21:56but what George Russell
21:58now needs to do
21:59is to try and
22:00inch clear
22:01and get to
22:02Oli Behrman
22:03but keep his
22:04teammate with him
22:05and keep Piastri
22:06away from himself.
22:07So by keeping
22:09Antonelli within
22:10DRS,
22:11he's doing himself
22:12a little bit
22:13of a favour there.
22:14Has Oli Behrman
22:15been managing
22:16his tyres nicely
22:17without all this
22:17pressure?
22:18Has the Haas
22:19got the pace
22:20to hold on
22:21to that third
22:22position?
22:22Lap 43
22:24of 71.
22:27Lennar,
22:27to help the
22:28other side,
22:29how much do you
22:29prefer the soft
22:30over the medium?
22:30A little bit
22:31or a lot?
22:32I mean,
22:32it doesn't feel
22:33too bad now
22:34but I still
22:35think the soft
22:36honestly.
22:39Bernie Collins,
22:40translate that
22:40one for us.
22:42Well,
22:42yeah,
22:43the best read
22:43that McLaren
22:44have on tyres
22:45is Norris.
22:45He's in nice
22:46clean areas
22:47on a straight
22:47compare of the
22:48soft with the
22:49medium.
22:50Why are they
22:50asking?
22:51What help is it
22:51to the other
22:52side?
22:53Well,
22:53does Piastri,
22:54if he cannot
22:54get past these
22:55drivers,
22:56does he switch
22:57it up for a
22:58two-stop?
22:59The moment he
23:00comes out just
23:01ahead of Ocon,
23:02particularly if
23:02there's a safety
23:03car,
23:03does he risk
23:04it,
23:04get a soft
23:05on and then
23:05have a much
23:06better tyre
23:06to push through
23:07these traffic
23:08if he's just
23:09sat on it now
23:10and can't make
23:11any progress?
23:11Which is a
23:11great idea
23:12but the one
23:13thing Piastri
23:14and McLaren
23:14need to be
23:15aware of is
23:16the guy in
23:16eighth place,
23:17T-Max,
23:17is coming and
23:18he's coming at
23:19them and he's
23:19on that soft tyre
23:20too.
23:20Yeah,
23:21he's a second
23:21faster than
23:22anyone else
23:23in that group
23:24ahead of him
23:25from Behrman
23:25down to
23:26Hamilton there.
23:28The gap when
23:28Max came out
23:29of the Pistcroft
23:30it was 7.8
23:31to Hamilton,
23:33it's now
23:333.7
23:35so he's
23:37halved the
23:38deficit,
23:39hasn't he?
23:39Yes,
23:40he has.
23:41But McLaren
23:41need to do
23:42something,
23:42or Oscar Piastri
23:43needs to do
23:43something,
23:44because it's
23:45sixth place,
23:47something of a
23:48recovery
23:48from seventh
23:49on the grid,
23:50but it ain't
23:51enough for him
23:52and he wants
23:52more.
23:53Does he need
23:54to do something?
23:54Because if he
23:56pits,
23:56he's going to
23:58end up now
23:59between Sainz
24:00and Ocon.
24:01He'll be ahead
24:01of Ocon.
24:02Yeah,
24:02so he's going
24:03to drop,
24:04let's say he'll
24:05overtake Sainz
24:06because he's got
24:07a quick car,
24:08but you'll
24:08effectively give up
24:09track position to
24:10Hamilton and
24:10Verstappen,
24:11that's the risk.
24:12Now,
24:12at the moment,
24:13if they just
24:14carry on where
24:14they are,
24:15he will outscore
24:16Hamilton and
24:17Verstappen
24:17and get a few
24:19more points
24:19for himself,
24:20more importantly.
24:20Yeah.
24:21They then give him
24:22the risk of having
24:22to try and overtake,
24:24well, first catch
24:25Verstappen,
24:25then overtake,
24:26which remember
24:27they've done a few
24:27times in the past,
24:28they've left it
24:29to Ocon to try
24:29and overtake on track
24:30and it's not
24:31quite worked out.
24:33Think of Budapest
24:34with Lando.
24:34Yeah, that's a
24:34very good point.
24:36They went into
24:37this race,
24:38McLaren,
24:39thinking it's a
24:40one stop,
24:40but it could be
24:41a two stop,
24:42and as we go
24:43towards the end,
24:44these high track
24:45temperatures could
24:46bring us into
24:47territory that we
24:47just don't really
24:48know much about
24:49in terms of how
24:50the tyres are
24:51reacting.
24:51Franco Colopinto
24:52ahead of Alex
24:53Albon.
24:54On the inside,
24:55Alex Albon,
24:56he gets alongside
24:57and I dare say
24:58has a faster car
24:59down the straight
25:00to move up
25:02into P15
25:03and in doing so
25:04set the fastest
25:04lap of the race.
25:06Bernie Collins,
25:07down to you.
25:08Yeah, Crofty,
25:09just to pick up
25:10on that discussion
25:10that you're having
25:11there,
25:11I think the
25:12asteri,
25:12the risk
25:13v reward,
25:14and also we talk
25:14about a lot
25:15on the strategy,
25:15they would give
25:16up position
25:17to Verstappen,
25:18but that looks
25:19at risk anyway
25:19with Verstappen's
25:20current pace,
25:21and then what
25:22they're trying
25:22to gain is
25:23position to
25:24Hamilton,
25:25who's behind,
25:26Antonelli,
25:26Russell,
25:27and Wehrman,
25:28so that's what
25:29they're trying
25:29to reckon,
25:29can they overall
25:31get better points
25:32out of this race,
25:33even if that means
25:34losing to Verstappen?
25:35But, you know,
25:37a pit stop,
25:38Bernie,
25:38you were saying
25:39before,
25:3922 seconds,
25:41that's a big
25:42deficit,
25:43they'll have to
25:43catch up,
25:43but as you say
25:44though,
25:44Verstappen has
25:45got a lot of
25:45pace at the
25:45moment,
25:46hasn't he,
25:46on that soft tyre?
25:4713 laps into the
25:47hard,
25:47it was comparable
25:48cross cars,
25:49and so less on the
25:50flop,
25:50as we did.
25:51Just ask the
25:51other car,
25:52what is their
25:53balance right now?
25:54I don't understand
25:55what's going on.
25:57There are three
25:58ways of talking
25:58to a driver
25:59in a race,
26:00there's the
26:00we're not quite
26:03sure,
26:03what do you
26:04think?
26:04There's the
26:05we think we
26:05should do
26:06this,
26:06give us your
26:07opinion,
26:07and there's the
26:08this is what
26:08we're going to
26:08do.
26:09That might have
26:10fallen into
26:10territory four,
26:11which are just
26:12baffling.
26:13I don't know.
26:14Either way,
26:15Alex Halbon did
26:15not appreciate it.
26:17Before we heard
26:17that,
26:17I was going to
26:18say,
26:18Oli Behrman's
26:19last lap,
26:19122.179,
26:21George Russell
26:22at 122.191.
26:23Russell hasn't
26:24necessarily got a
26:26significant pace
26:27advantage over
26:28Oli Behrman.
26:30Behrman's been
26:30running his
26:31tyres for 20
26:31laps,
26:32Russell for
26:32one lap
26:33less.
26:34It's not a
26:34given that
26:35Oli Behrman
26:36is going to
26:37lose time
26:38relative to
26:39the Mercedes.
26:40Can I just
26:41say that the
26:42race leader is
26:43having the
26:43time of his
26:44life.
26:44He's done a
26:45personal best
26:46on the last
26:46lap,
26:471.20.7,
26:48his fastest
26:49lap of the
26:50race.
26:51He is on
26:52that last
26:52lap 8 tenths
26:53faster than
26:54Charles Leclerc.
26:55And compared
26:56to this group
26:58here we're
26:58looking at,
26:58compared to
26:59Piastri,
26:59on the last
27:00lap 1.7
27:01seconds faster.
27:021.7.
27:04He's having the
27:05time of his
27:05life in nice
27:06clean air.
27:07Meanwhile,
27:08Oscar Piastri is
27:09now thinking,
27:10forget a two-stop
27:11strategy, I just
27:12need to get past
27:12Kimi Antonelli and
27:13he's within
27:14touching distance.
27:15And talking of
27:16which, here's
27:17Max Verstappen,
27:18within touching
27:18distance of
27:19Lewis Hamilton.
27:20Now he is
27:21under one second
27:22behind the
27:23Ferrari in front.
27:24started fifth,
27:26now racing eighth,
27:28has had quite the
27:29adventure today,
27:30Max, in a car
27:31that's not really
27:32got the balance
27:33that he wanted
27:34going into this
27:35Grand Prix.
27:36But once again,
27:36he's showing just
27:38how good a driver
27:39he is by getting
27:41the maximum from
27:42it.
27:42Yeah, his soft
27:43tyres have only
27:44done eight laps,
27:45Hamilton's medium
27:46tyres, which we
27:47know is already
27:47the slower tyre,
27:48have done 22
27:49laps, so the
27:51Stafford should
27:51have a significant
27:53pace advantage.
27:56Oscar, we think
27:56there should be
27:57box to overtake,
27:58box to overtake
27:59Antonelli unless
28:00he will pass on
28:01the start finish
28:01next time.
28:03So has he had
28:04his go?
28:05And are McLaren
28:06coming out into
28:07the pit lane?
28:07And the answer to
28:08that is yes,
28:09they are.
28:11Oscar Piastri
28:12is going to go
28:12for it here and
28:13he's going to take
28:14the bold strategy
28:14or is he not?
28:16Because they were
28:16all waiting for him
28:18and he's carried
28:19on down the
28:20main straight.
28:20There he is,
28:21just ahead of
28:22Verstappen and
28:23Hamilton.
28:23He's got DRS
28:24on Kimi Antonelli.
28:25Is he going to
28:26make the move
28:26then on the
28:26Mercedes who
28:27switches to
28:28make sure
28:29Piastri goes
28:30round the
28:30outside and he
28:31doesn't.
28:31Meanwhile, Max
28:32Verstappen and
28:33Lewis Hamilton
28:33into turn one.
28:35Verstappen's got
28:35clear of the
28:36Ferrari and up to
28:37seventh.
28:38Yeah, the
28:38McLaren mechanics
28:39ran out and
28:39then went back
28:40in.
28:40Let's see if
28:41Piastri has
28:41another go into
28:42turn four.
28:43He's looking for
28:43the outside line.
28:44Once again,
28:45Antonelli moves
28:46late-ish to
28:47deny Oscar
28:49Piastri.
28:50Yeah, he went
28:51a bit deep but
28:52he should have
28:52that covered.
28:54So Verstappen
28:54has already
28:55picked Hamilton
28:56off here.
28:57Do McLaren
28:57play the game
28:58again on the
28:59next lap?
29:00Because they
29:01could see,
29:02what did you
29:02call him before?
29:03T-Max coming
29:04behind.
29:05He's now the
29:06head of Hamilton
29:06and will be
29:07filling the mirrors
29:09of McLaren pretty
29:10soon.
29:10Lewis Hamilton
29:11down into
29:12eighth and
29:12potential floor
29:13damage on his
29:14Ferrari after he
29:15went over on the
29:17grass on the
29:17escape road down
29:18at turn four.
29:20That cost him a
29:20ten-second penalty
29:21for gaining an
29:22advantage after
29:23leaving the track
29:24and he's been
29:24asked to come
29:25into the pits.
29:26And that might be
29:27for a change of
29:28tyres.
29:28It might be to
29:29retire the car if
29:30he's got floor
29:31damage.
29:32And that'll be a
29:32really disappointing
29:33end to what could
29:34have been a
29:35sensational afternoon.
29:36But into the pits
29:36now comes Kimi
29:38Antonelli and
29:39Oscar Piastri.
29:40So Mercedes have
29:41decided, look, if
29:42you're going to box
29:43to overtake, fair
29:44enough, but we're
29:45going to box too.
29:46This had better be a
29:46fast stop.
29:47And it was.
29:48Pat on the back
29:49from the mechanics as
29:50the McLaren roared
29:51off.
29:52Hamilton's in the pits,
29:53Antonelli as well.
29:55And we want to see as
29:55they come down the pit
29:56lane.
29:57Oscar Piastri has
29:58got ahead of Kimi
30:00Antonelli and they did
30:01it in the pits.
30:02Well done to
30:03McLaren.
30:03That was a great
30:04stop.
30:05Fantastic work
30:06there for the
30:07McLaren pit crew.
30:09And that was
30:10critical.
30:10And it's great for
30:11them, isn't it?
30:11They've had a rough
30:12ride with the pit
30:12stops.
30:13It's good to see
30:14them win one in a
30:15straight fight there.
30:16I'm sure there was a
30:17mechanic just gave
30:18the pat on the
30:19engine cover on
30:20the roll hoop there
30:21as off the car
30:22went.
30:23Hamilton's been fed
30:23straight out in
30:25front of Isaac
30:26Hajar.
30:27And Hajar, with his
30:28tyres a little bit
30:29more up to
30:29temperature, might fancy
30:31this battle for a
30:33lap and a half or
30:34so.
30:35As for Piastri, he's
30:36got ahead of
30:36Antonelli.
30:37He's now got
30:38Esteban Ocon ahead of
30:39him and not much of a
30:41gap between him and
30:42Esteban Ocon.
30:42And then there's about
30:4321 seconds to Max
30:45Verstappen.
30:46George Russell is
30:47going to come in for a
30:48pit stop too.
30:49So now that he's got
30:51well, he hasn't got a
30:53free pit stop, he's
30:53going to concede to
30:54Max Verstappen in this,
30:56but he's got maybe a
30:57free pit stop to
30:57Esteban Ocon.
30:58They quite fancy a bit
31:01of a strategy gamble
31:02there.
31:02If Russell pits now,
31:03you've seen the
31:04graphic on your
31:04screen, what about as
31:06Verstappen goes up
31:08into third and
31:08Behrmann now pits.
31:11Yeah, we see
31:11Russell coming out,
31:12that looked like a
31:13decent stop.
31:14Behrmann has also
31:14pitted there.
31:15So they've reacted.
31:16That trigger that
31:18Antonelli and
31:18Piastri pulled,
31:20everyone else now
31:21has had to react.
31:22Behrmann's still
31:23ahead of Russell.
31:24Watch Russell
31:24versus the track.
31:26Yeah, on comes
31:27George Russell.
31:28Esteban Ocon is
31:29right there with him
31:30and down towards
31:31turn one.
31:31George Russell could
31:32be under pressure
31:33here.
31:33It was a slow stop
31:34from Mercedes and
31:35he's just hung on to
31:37that fifth place.
31:38There's Piastri just
31:39in the background.
31:41Take a bow.
31:42Haas pit crew, by
31:43the way, on the
31:44verge of a potential
31:45first podium in
31:47Formula One and
31:48they've delivered two
31:49exceptional pit stops
31:51for Oli Behrmann as
31:52down the inside Oscar
31:53Piastri's having a go
31:55over on Esteban Ocon.
31:56No chance of getting
31:57through.
31:58Except Behrmann's
31:58now giving up.
31:59And down the inside
32:00goes Piastri on
32:01Esteban Ocon.
32:02He's caught the
32:03Frenchman by surprise.
32:04Nice move by Oscar
32:06Piastri.
32:07He's got the grip on
32:07the medium tyre
32:08runner.
32:09He's up in a six.
32:10Behrmann has now
32:10dropped back down
32:11to fourth but on
32:12much fresher tyres
32:13than Max Verstappen.
32:14Exactly.
32:14They've given up
32:15track position for
32:16the podium as
32:17Antonelli goes
32:18past Ocon.
32:18Ocon on much
32:20older tyres of
32:21course at this
32:21stage.
32:22So this is going
32:23to be a fascinating
32:23fight.
32:25Oli Behrmann on
32:26ties at 11 laps
32:28fresher.
32:29Can he catch Max
32:31Verstappen?
32:32What do you think?
32:34Bernie Collins
32:34down on the pit wall.
32:36I think it's going to
32:37be quietly asked
32:39why did Haas feel
32:41the need with the
32:42gap that they had
32:43with Russell pitting
32:44with Antonelli pitting
32:45with Piastri pitting
32:46why do they feel the need
32:48to bring Oli Behrmann in?
32:50Yeah I think it's to
32:51cover that.
32:52That's their only
32:52opportunity.
32:53It needs to be that
32:54lap or not at all.
32:55So they have to give
32:56it a go and it's
32:58unknown.
32:58It's unknown how long
33:00that soft can last on
33:01that car from Verstappen.
33:02So this is a good
33:03opportunity to try and
33:04make it work and they've
33:05secured hopefully that
33:07P4 position.
33:07And the thing to watch
33:08now Crofty is Verstappen
33:10versus Leclerc because
33:11Leclerc and Norris are
33:13now still on the mediums
33:14they're the only ones
33:15of the top eight who
33:16are sticking with that
33:17medium.
33:18Leclerc does not have a
33:20gap to Verstappen now.
33:21If he pits he will
33:22drop behind Max.
33:23Yeah.
33:24Do they think they can
33:25just hang it out on the
33:27medium?
33:2720 laps to go, 12
33:28seconds the buffer.
33:30Can Leclerc hang on to
33:31the end and stay in front
33:32of Max?
33:33Half a second Max was
33:35fastest on the previous
33:37lap on lap.
33:3750.
33:39A 1.22.0 for Charles
33:41Leclerc.
33:41Sorry, on lap 49.
33:42On lap 50 a 1.22.0.
33:44Max was a 1.21.1.
33:479.10.
33:48On that evidence, albeit
33:50very small evidence,
33:51no.
33:53In all honesty, no.
33:55By the way, race
33:56controls noted the
33:57Oscar Piastri for
33:58causing a collision.
33:59Not being investigated
34:00by the stewards yet.
34:01That's for his move
34:01on Esteban Ocon, which
34:03I thought was
34:04opportunistic and
34:04exactly what he
34:05needed to do.
34:06I didn't see he was
34:07causing a collision
34:08necessarily.
34:09It was fine.
34:10I don't think there's
34:13anything wrong with
34:14that.
34:14So we'll see.
34:15This is the
34:16Constructors' Championship
34:16on a day where Haas
34:18are in a good position
34:20with both cars in the
34:21points, particularly
34:22Behrman there with a
34:23big haul.
34:24So this could be a big
34:25day.
34:26And you know what?
34:27Massive respect to their
34:28team boss, Ayo Komatsu,
34:29because they introduced
34:30an upgrade in Austin,
34:31which is really quite late
34:33in the season.
34:34And it wasn't like a
34:34little flick on the
34:36floor, as we see the
34:37Williams' swapping
34:38positions.
34:39Yeah, they introduced
34:39quite a significant
34:40upgrade.
34:41This is my pace,
34:42right, Paul?
34:43Fine.
34:44This is...
34:45We're staying out to the
34:46end.
34:46That might not be enough
34:47on this pace.
34:49That might not be
34:50enough for Charles
34:51Leclerc.
34:53Max Verstappen, could he
34:54salvage a podium after
34:56starting fifth on the
34:57grid here in Mexico
34:58City?
34:5921 previous starts from
35:01fifth on the grid.
35:02He's never won, has
35:03picked up two podiums.
35:04They both came in 2018
35:05in Spain and in Brazil.
35:08Haas, by the way, I was
35:09talking about their
35:10pit stops.
35:102.3 second pit stop for
35:13Oli Behrman.
35:13That's their fastest of
35:14the season.
35:15I think their first was
35:162.7 seconds.
35:17And the reason I think
35:19they've done so well is
35:21that the pressure that
35:22they've been under, you
35:23know, running so high
35:24up, you know, does make
35:26one tense a little bit,
35:28shall we say.
35:28And Oli Behrman, though,
35:29on the soft tyre, hasn't
35:31got the pace that George
35:32Russell's got.
35:33And George Russell is
35:34really coming at him.
35:35And I think that podium
35:36might be disappearing.
35:38Yeah, instruction.
35:39He'll stretch the cars
35:39at Turn 1.
35:40Which we saw.
35:41Might be the worst
35:41strategy I've ever...
35:43But we didn't hear
35:44Alex Albon's view on
35:45it.
35:46And this is why
35:47I'm thinking, why not
35:49just keep Oli Behrman
35:50out?
35:51But we'll never know
35:54what might have
35:54happened.
35:55Yeah, I get it.
35:58It's very hard to answer,
35:59to be honest, because you
36:00look at how fast the
36:01staff is now catching
36:02Leclerc.
36:03It's hard.
36:04You know, basically,
36:05they would have ended up
36:05fourth anyway.
36:06Yeah.
36:07If you think about it,
36:07they would have been
36:08overtaken by Max anyway.
36:10So why not at least give
36:11him tyres to fight on
36:12if he's anyway fourth,
36:14right?
36:15Yeah.
36:15I don't think the podium
36:16was on, because I think
36:17Max would have caught and
36:17passed him at the pace
36:19Max was going.
36:20No further investigation,
36:21say the stewards,
36:23for Oscar Piastri on the
36:24inside of Esteban Ocon.
36:26So just a quick note on the
36:29championship at the moment.
36:30If we finish in this order,
36:32Lando will lead the
36:33championship for the first
36:34time since Saudi Arabia,
36:36or going into Saudi Arabia,
36:38by just three points in the
36:40world championship battle.
36:42Verstappen at this point
36:43will be 36 behind Lando,
36:46but if he gets ahead of
36:48Leclerc, that's obviously
36:49another three points.
36:51Yes.
36:52It'll end his run as Oli
36:54Behrman under pressure from
36:56George Russell, we can see,
36:57still keeps hold of that
36:59fourth place.
37:00It's not an easy track to
37:02pass on at all, and you
37:03can make your car very
37:04wide indeed, and that is
37:05what Oli Behrman has got to
37:06try and do here.
37:07Two young British drivers
37:09battling it out for
37:11fourth place.
37:1220-year-old Oli Behrman
37:14from Chelmsford in
37:16Essex, and ooh, debris on
37:19the outside of the last
37:20corner, that might bring
37:21about the safety car.
37:22And George Russell from
37:23Kings Lynn, 26 years old,
37:27and with how many Grands
37:28Prix's?
37:28148th Grand Prix up against
37:31Behrman's 23rd Grand Prix.
37:33Can you see any debris out of
37:34our commentary box window,
37:35Kareem?
37:35No, we're pretty much at the
37:37last long right-hand part of
37:39the corner, but maybe he's
37:40talking about the last apex of
37:43the, you know, turn 16, so
37:44we'll have a look.
37:46They're coming into that
37:46section now, but there's
37:47nothing I can see from where
37:49we're standing.
37:50What we don't want is a
37:51safety car to interfere with
37:53what is a really absorbing
37:55Mexico City Grand Prix.
37:57I've thoroughly enjoyed this
37:59from start to finish, I have
38:00to say, and I can't really
38:01see debris there.
38:04Down the main straight again,
38:05Oli Behrman has got George
38:07Russell out of DRS.
38:09Well, it certainly looked like
38:11he's got it now as Russell.
38:12Maybe he was within a second
38:14going through the detection
38:15point, but it is hovering
38:16around a second, that gap,
38:18and Oli Behrman, you know,
38:19will be quite happy to keep
38:21that gap as it is, and
38:23they're lapping about three,
38:25four tenths of a second
38:26faster than Max Verstappen,
38:27who's lapping about seven
38:28tenths faster than Charles
38:30Leclerc, and he's under ten
38:31seconds behind him in what
38:32could yet be the battle for
38:33second.
38:34Bernie, down to you.
38:36Yeah, just quickly on that,
38:37Crofty, I think Russell
38:38actually charged towards the
38:40end of that straight there,
38:42so I think he's trying to
38:42rebuild his battery a little
38:44bit, but what it was going to
38:45come in with was what would
38:46happen if there's a safety
38:47car now, so at the moment
38:49Charles Leclerc does not have
38:51a safety car gap on
38:52Verstappen, so if Leclerc
38:53boxed and Verstappen did
38:55not, Verstappen would be
38:56ahead.
38:57Verstappen most likely would
38:58box as well, though, and he
38:59would come out just ahead of
39:02Behrman on fresh tyres, so
39:04that was, that's the
39:05situation if there was a
39:06safety car right now.
39:07And Lando Norris would
39:08definitely box because he
39:09has got a 25, nearly 26
39:12second gap over Charles
39:13Leclerc.
39:13Yeah, I mean, he can box
39:15even under green flag
39:16conditions and still have the
39:17lead, frankly, so he's,
39:19he's been in a commanding
39:21position, frankly, since he
39:23got in the car in FP2.
39:25He is absolutely hooked up,
39:27gave up his seat for Pat O'Ward
39:29in the first three practice
39:31sessions, we had nine rookies
39:32in that practice session, if
39:34you weren't watching, but Lando
39:36from the first run that they
39:38did in FP2, he's just looked
39:40at one with the car and at one
39:41with this track.
39:42Yeah, missed FP1, second time
39:44this season, Lando's missed
39:46FP1 and then taken pole as
39:48well.
39:49Who needs the practice, huh?
39:50Yeah, he should just not
39:51bother with the, with the
39:52rest of them.
39:53Who needs the practice?
39:55So lap 56 of 71, Gabriel
39:57Bortoleto is trying to squeeze
39:59his way into the points up
40:00against Isaac Hadjar in the
40:03Racing Bulls.
40:04One more race to go for
40:05Bortoleto till he goes and
40:06races in front of his home
40:07fans in Brazil and he is so
40:09looking forward to that as we
40:11all are looking forward to
40:13seeing what he can do down at
40:14turn four, but nothing in
40:15terms of trying to make a move
40:17up into the top ten.
40:18I was speaking with the
40:19Brazilian broadcasters just
40:21earlier, Trophy, they're
40:22saying there's so much
40:23excitement for Bortoleto to
40:25come to his home Grand Prix.
40:27He's from the outskirts of
40:28Sao Paulo City is where he
40:31originates from.
40:32They treat him as a
40:33Sao Pauloista and there's a
40:34great deal of excitement as we
40:36head to Interlagos in a couple
40:37of weeks' time.
40:38And listen, let's be honest,
40:39it's a race that we all love
40:40going to.
40:41It always produces great
40:42racing and we should have
40:43more of it with some crazy
40:45weather thrown in at some
40:46point as well.
40:47So here's Oli Behrman,
40:48there's George Russell and
40:50sadly we're zooming in a
40:51little bit here because right
40:53behind George Russell now,
40:55within 1.3 seconds, is that
40:58man there in the McLaren,
40:59Oscar Piastri.
41:00So Piastri has gained on the
41:02back of this.
41:03And Behrman has got George
41:05Russell kind of dealt with for
41:07the moment.
41:07He's not within that magic
41:08second.
41:09Carlos Sainz has got another
41:11penalty for speeding in the
41:13pit lane.
41:14He thought something was
41:14wrong with the car the first
41:15time.
41:16I'm sure he does again.
41:17This one will be a drive-through
41:18penalty.
41:18It's his second offence of that
41:21nature.
41:21Max Verstappen's closed the gap
41:23to eight seconds and we're
41:25riding on board once again
41:26with Gabriel Bortoleto.
41:28There's a point up for grabs
41:29here and he's got Isaac Hadjar
41:31very much in his sights.
41:34You have to say Red Bull and
41:35Max, they started fifth.
41:38They've gained two places.
41:40That's a pretty good effort
41:41really and they'd be pretty
41:42pleased with that.
41:44For Oscar, he's only gained one
41:45from where they've started.
