00:00From where they've started and, you know, you start to question Max and Red Bull roll the dice by doing something different.
00:06You know, when you're in the pack there and you're bottled up, do something different.
00:11Think a bit more creatively and we saw it in Austin, didn't we?
00:16Leclerc did something different, started on a different tyre and it worked out.
00:19Here Verstappen started on a different tyre and it worked out.
00:21So a bit of creative thinking and he's gained a couple of places whereas Piastri's only gained one.
00:25Yeah, he might gain another though. He's got DRS now and he's behind George Russell.
00:29There's 23 kilometres an hour of extra pace coming his way.
00:33I don't think he's going to get him on this particular stretch though.
00:35Let's go down to the Sauber pit wall.
00:38Jonathan Wheatley, the team principal.
00:40Commiserations on Nico Hülkenberg.
00:42His first DNF of the season. What was wrong, Jonathan?
00:46Well, there was a power issue of some description on the reconnaissance lap.
00:50We did as many switch changes as we could to try to address that
00:54and Nico did actually a fantastic job of driving around the problem.
00:57But concern over reliability issues at this point in the season led us to retire the car.
01:04As for Gabriel Bortoletto, a points place is possible to salvage something from the weekend.
01:10But how are the tyres holding up, these soft tyres?
01:12Well, so far so good, you know.
01:15We caught Hadjar about a second a lap, but you can see how difficult it is to pass.
01:21I mean, look at the trouble that George was having with Behrman.
01:25So, yeah, look, we're in a cat and mouse battle with Hadjar and it'll come down to who makes the fewest mistakes.
01:31I'm sure you'll be cheering George on as well because Oli Behrman's 12 points, not great for you, are they?
01:38Yeah, I'm cheering a lot of people on.
01:41I bet you are. Thanks ever so much.
01:43Gap 21.9. Let's go. That's why we come racing.
01:47Seven seconds, the gap between Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.
01:51Behrman has the lead in terms of 4th, 5th and 6th over Russell, over Piastri.
01:58There's a car length in it here.
02:00Oscar Piastri could, well, it's another two points in the championship,
02:05but every point is absolutely precious at this stage of the season.
02:10And he needs this, Karun. He absolutely needs this.
02:13Yeah, he really does.
02:14I mean, you know, he's stuck there behind Russell.
02:18He's been stuck there for a while.
02:19And unfortunately for him, Russell's now within DRS of Behrman down the south finish straight, isn't he?
02:24It's sort of ebbs and flows in the back part of the track.
02:27But Russell's sort of close enough to just, even if he's not DRS, he's getting slipstreamed.
02:32He's just getting dragged along enough to take him out of danger.
02:38He's gaining a little bit on this lap.
02:39He's just lost a tenth going through those couple of corners.
02:43He'll get the slipstream and he'll get DRS as well.
02:45Down towards turn 12, the helicopter battle, a camera showing this battle really nicely for us.
02:52Max Verstappen, meanwhile, now 6.3 seconds behind Charles Leclerc.
02:56I get the feeling that Max Verstappen's going to arrive on the scene here.
03:01And Charles Leclerc might not have much in the form of weaponry to try and keep him at bay.
03:07And this will be a great recovery from Max Verstappen in a car that he hasn't enjoyed this weekend.
03:12But he'll certainly enjoy the runners-up position to Lando Norris as it's out into turn one.
03:18Piastri gets close, but not close enough.
03:20Yeah, you know, it's all well and good, the team coming up with an alternative strategy and trying to be creative.
03:25But you need a driver who can execute it and drive fast enough to make that strategy work.
03:31And with Max, they've absolutely got that.
03:33So 12 laps to go, 6 seconds.
03:37And the gap on the last lap between them, 8 tenths in terms of lap time.
03:42So at this rate, you're right, Verstappen will catch Leclerc, if we take it at a similar rate, in the last two or three laps.
03:51So don't go anywhere.
03:53I was confidently predicting it might be a kind of middle stage of the race where not a huge amount happened.
03:58But I was definitely wrong on that.
03:59But I was definitely right that the last ten laps could give us something a little bit special.
04:04And these soft tyres that Oli Behrmann and George Russell and Oscar Piastri and Kimi Antonelli have been running for about ten or eleven laps.
04:13How are they going to hold up?
04:14How?
04:15Is that not lock-up from George Russell there?
04:1721-lap old Max Verstappen's tyres going to hold up.
04:20Power 28-lap old, medium tyres, going to hold up for Charles Leclerc.
04:25As for Lando Norris, he's got such a cushion now he could drive around in third gear and probably still win this race.
04:30And your Salesforce driver of the day currently is Oli Behrmann.
04:33And there's no surprise to that whatsoever.
04:35Could Oscar Piastri be about to force himself up down the inside on George Russell?
04:39Yes, he is.
04:40And Oscar Piastri is about two-thirds ahead.
04:43By the time they get to the next Apex, he is definitely ahead.
04:47That is exactly what he needed to do.
04:49He's up in the fifth place.
04:51Great move from the Aussie.
04:52Yeah, and he's got DRS as well on this straight.
04:54So that'll pull him a slight bit away and out of a vulnerable attack from George Russell.
05:00So great move from Oscar Piastri.
05:02Opportunistic there.
05:03And a big lunge.
05:04But he managed to get it stopped without any contact.
05:07That will give him a lot of hearts and a lot of hope as well for the fight to come for Oscar Piastri.
05:13It's still not going to be good enough for him to retain his championship lead this weekend.
05:18But it's only one point in it going to Brazil.
05:22And he's only 2.7 seconds now behind Oli Behrmann in the Haas.
05:25Yeah, and if he passes Behrmann, then he'll be leading by one point going to Brazil.
05:30What a championship we're having.
05:32And we'll go to Brazil and we won't go, oh, Oscar, you know, the lead's come down again.
05:36How do you feel?
05:37Be like, hey, Oscar, that could have been a lot worse, right?
05:39Yeah.
05:40Yeah, absolutely is.
05:41Look, he came from some way back.
05:43It wasn't an obviously, you know, alongside sort of maneuver.
05:47And George, I thought George was very fair with him there.
05:49Backed out of it at the right point, but they could have made contact.
05:51And that was a nice little slide as Piastri tries to put 1,000 horsepower of Mercedes power down
05:59to accelerate away from the works Mercedes car.
06:03You know what George Russell will say at the end of this race?
06:05That wouldn't have happened if he'd have swapped the positions with Kimi Antonelli five laps sooner
06:09when I was telling you to do it.
06:13We should invert position now.
06:15Yeah, if we are talking about it, we'll just close it.
06:18Oh, good luck.
06:20Good luck on that one.
06:22You know what?
06:23I think you've got a really good point.
06:26Because if George hadn't cooked his tyres there for five laps,
06:29he would have had five laps better grip to try and attack Behrman
06:32and potentially hold Piastri off.
06:35So if I was George, that is absolutely what I'd be seeing in the debrief.
06:39Not sure what the answer is going to be from George Russell, Bernie Collins,
06:43when they say, if they do say Mercedes, could you swap positions around?
06:47But the letters N and O spring to mind.
06:50Well, yeah, I think they should swap positions back
06:53because if we look at what's just happened in this stint,
06:56Russell has the same tyre as you saw, same age as Behrman
07:01and not been able to overtake.
07:03So the car piece isn't there for that overtake.
07:06And that's what the pit wall would be saying when he says,
07:09oh, I think I could have got him earlier.
07:10The driver behind always feels like he should be faster
07:13and always feels like he should be ahead.
07:14No, you're right. He wasn't ahead, was he, at any stage
07:17in terms of the pace?
07:18And Behrman was holding him off pretty comfortably there.
07:21It has to be said, we're riding on board with Kimi Antonelli.
07:24George Russell is still ahead of him
07:26and he's not yet within one second.
07:29No information yet as to any swap request
07:35from the Mercedes pit wall.
07:36Gabriel Bortoletto has got DRS on Isaac Hadjar.
07:40He's gaining on him down the back straight.
07:41That is Max Verstappen ahead of Max Verstappen.
07:45So behind him is Pierre Gasly as Bortoletto goes for the move
07:49down into turn one.
07:50Now, has he got this against Isaac Hadjar?
07:53As we get to the next corner, he has, you know.
07:55Bortoletto is up into the points.
07:57Neat move from him as well.
07:59So 10th place for Gabriel Bortoletto
08:02and on the soft tyre is Esteban Ocon.
08:04Vulnerable to him to make up another couple of points
08:08in this race.
08:09Max Verstappen, I was going to say, has Gasly behind him
08:12because he's just lapped him
08:13and he has Charles Leclerc ahead.
08:15Four seconds the gap now with, what, nine laps to go?
08:18Yeah, but Leclerc's done a good lap there.
08:20He's only lost four tenths on that last lap.
08:22You know, he was losing eight, nine tenths before that.
08:24So that's a good lap to try and arrest that slide.
08:28And, you know, as you say, eight laps to go, four seconds.
08:31And Leclerc's, I think, just about doing enough
08:35as here comes the swap.
08:37It is a swap, yes.
08:38Kimi Antonetti goes through.
08:40George Russell does comply.
08:43He's not going to enjoy that, though.
08:45And this is the move.
08:46Gabriel Bortoletto jinxing behind Isaac Hadjar.
08:50That was, this is really good stuff
08:52from the two title rivals in F2 last season, of course.
08:56Of course, yeah, yeah.
08:57You know what?
08:58This has been one of the better Mexican Grand Prix's, isn't it?
09:00We've had so much going on all through the race
09:02and a lot of drivers converting to the two-stop,
09:05which we didn't necessarily expect this morning.
09:08So it's been, it's been great as we see Tsunoda now
09:11having a move down the inside of Hadjar.
09:14Look how dusty it is as well.
09:16Down into that first corner, Tsunoda makes that move stick.
09:20This is an insane stint, Max.
09:22Just finish it off.
09:23He's getting all the encouragement from Giampiero Lambiassi,
09:27and I'm not surprised.
09:27The gap now, 3.3 seconds.
09:30I've just texted Lando Norris.
09:31I said, is this one of the better Mexico City Grand Prix's?
09:34He's like, Crofty, this is the best.
09:36It's the best ever.
09:37For him, it is absolutely the best ever as well.
09:40This has been a super, super drive,
09:42and he has looked completely untroubled
09:45for each and every one of the 63 laps
09:47we've had completed so far,
09:49and he is a massive distance ahead,
09:51a postcode ahead of Charles Leclerc,
09:53who is now coming under big pressure
09:55from Max Verstappen.
09:58Start the Jeep, Charles.
09:59The T-Max is coming.
10:01Yeah, Lando's got this traffic ahead of him now,
10:04though, so he's got Albon...
10:06That is Albon and Hadjar and Tsunoda,
10:08so he's got those three cars battling it out
10:10right in front of him,
10:11so they'll start to get some blue flags.
10:13No doubt McLaren will be on the radio
10:15to race control,
10:16remind them the leader's coming.
10:18I'm just looking at the driver tracker.
10:20I mean, Lando's half a lap ahead...
10:22He's a different postcode.
10:23...of everybody else.
10:24He is.
10:25Or Zipco, depending on where you're watching
10:27around the world.
10:28His teammate, Oscar Piastri,
10:30could yet salvage fourth in this race,
10:31and he has got better pace
10:33than Oli Behrman.
10:34By about half a second a lap,
10:35here comes Alex Albon.
10:37Isaac Hadjar's got that sinking feeling
10:39at the moment.
10:40He's been running these soft tyres
10:42for 29 laps.
10:43They've gone off the boil
10:45just a little bit,
10:47but what might save him
10:48for at least a couple of laps
10:49is Lando Norris behind.
10:51No.
10:51He's going to have the Williams
10:53swoop past him
10:54before Lando Norris gets on the scene.
10:57So Albon moves up into 12th place.
11:00Tsunoda to try and catch,
11:01and then Portoleto for any points.
11:03Hadjar keeps out of the way.
11:04His racing is pretty much done here
11:06this afternoon.
11:08And every time I look away
11:09from the timing tower
11:10and then look back again,
11:11Max Verstappen's taken another chunk
11:13out of Charles Leclerc's advantage.
11:16There is the Ferrari.
11:18There is the Red Bull.
11:20And it has been
11:21such an impressive stint here,
11:23and it means an awful lot,
11:25I'm sure,
11:25in the battle for what will be
11:27the runners-up spot
11:27in the championship.
11:29Ferrari at the moment
11:30are going to be one point ahead
11:32of Mercedes.
11:33That's going to change
11:34if Verstappen gets ahead
11:35of Leclerc.
11:37Might also swing around
11:39so that Ferrari end up fourth
11:41at the end of this race,
11:42Mercedes second
11:43and Red Bull third.
11:45All will be revealed
11:46in six laps' time at the moment.
11:48I'm firmly focusing
11:49on that timing tower,
11:51as you say,
11:51that the gap between
11:52Verstappen and Leclerc.
11:53You can see it.
11:54Verstappen can see Leclerc
11:55everywhere now.
11:56It's not just a star-fist rate.
11:57He's right there.
11:58There's a clean line of sight
12:00to your target,
12:01and Max is absolutely
12:03hunting him down.
12:04He certainly is.
12:06I'm trying to do my maths here.
12:07It might not swing around
12:08quite that much.
12:09It's a three-points difference,
12:11isn't it,
12:11between second and third.
12:13Either way,
12:14it's a six-point swing
12:15and it is a really tight battle.
12:17Ten points between
12:18the three teams
12:19coming into this race weekend.
12:21We start lap 66 of 71
12:24and the battle for second
12:26is a two-and-a-half-second battle.
12:29Max Verstappen on the charge
12:31at top speed
12:32down towards the first corner.
12:34When he gets DRS,
12:36I feel that Charles Leclerc
12:37is going to be the most
12:38horizontal of sitting ducks
12:41in Mexico City,
12:42shall we say.
12:44Do ducks sit horizontally?
12:46They do now.
12:47Okay.
12:48They do in my book.
12:50Very good.
12:51Looking at the last laps,
12:54Leclerc is actually doing
12:55a great job
12:56with such old tyres
12:57to hang on,
12:58isn't he?
12:58You know,
12:59only lost four tenths
13:00on the last lap.
13:01He's managing his battery,
13:02I'm sure.
13:03There's some laps
13:03where he's losing eight,
13:04some laps where he's losing four
13:05and he's just doing
13:06everything he can.
13:07Look at this guy,
13:08Oli Behrman,
13:09hanging on in front of Piastri
13:10who still hasn't got
13:12within DRS.
13:13No, he's gaining
13:14three tenths,
13:15four tenths a lap.
13:17I am so impressed
13:18with Oli Behrman's race craft
13:20here this weekend.
13:22Yet again,
13:23another super lap
13:24in qualifying.
13:25Third weekend in a row,
13:27race weekend in a row,
13:28he's been in the top ten
13:29in qualifying.
13:30I was talking to
13:31Ayo Komatsu,
13:32the team principal,
13:33about him
13:33and about his Austin race
13:34and he said he just needs
13:35a little bit more maturity
13:36at times.
13:37Got sucked into a battle
13:38with Yuki Tsunoda
13:39that he didn't need
13:40to get sucked into
13:41and it cost him.
13:42And we're just
13:42trying to refine
13:44some of the immaturity
13:45which you're going to get
13:46in a rookie season.
13:47Well,
13:47they've refined it
13:49and this is a fine performance
13:50whatever happens
13:52between now
13:53and the end
13:53of this race.
13:55Haas' best finish
13:56in Formula 1
13:57is a fourth place
13:58and he's on
13:59for a fourth place
14:00if he can keep
14:01the championship leader
14:02Oscar Piastri at bay.
14:0440%
14:05in the Salesforce
14:05driver of the day.
14:07If I could cast a vote
14:08it'd probably be 41%
14:09by now on that one
14:10because he's been superb.
14:1142 with me.
14:13Stop agreeing with me.
14:14No,
14:15he has been superb
14:16hasn't he?
14:16He has been superb.
14:17Look at this now
14:17Verstappen
14:18only 1.6
14:19so he's probably
14:20a couple of laps away
14:22from getting within DRS
14:23Crofty
14:24and I'm not sure
14:26that as you said
14:27Leclerc's going to be
14:28able to hang on
14:28but these next two laps
14:30are massively important
14:31for Charles Leclerc
14:32to just try
14:33and make some sort
14:35of a gap
14:35over Verstappen.
14:37Away from these battles
14:39Antonelli
14:39passed George Russell
14:41off the pace
14:42in terms of
14:43the McLaren ahead
14:44and George Russell
14:45looks like he's going
14:46to settle for seventh.
14:46Hamilton
14:47down in eighth
14:47had that 10 second penalty
14:49earlier
14:49in the race
14:50that rather ruined
14:50his race.
14:51The stewards
14:52looked at Max Verstappen
14:53for a couple of incidents
14:54he didn't pick up
14:54a penalty today
14:56and he's going to
14:56pick up second place
14:57at this rate.
14:59Ocon hanging on
15:00to ninth place
15:01currently
15:01Gabriel Bortoleto
15:03about half a second
15:04a lap quicker
15:04but only half a second
15:05a lap quicker
15:06and maybe running
15:07out of laps too.
15:08Yeah,
15:09the two Alpines
15:10are just in front
15:11of Behrman there
15:11Crofty
15:12down the straight
15:12so he's going to
15:13start picking up
15:13the dirty air
15:14from them
15:15and Colopinto
15:16the first of those cars
15:17he needs to lap.
15:18That'll be a new experience
15:19for Behrman
15:20when they're lapping cars.
15:21Yeah, he knows
15:22what it's like
15:22to be lapped
15:23but now he's going to
15:24be lapping other cars here.
15:26He'll have picked up
15:26a distant tow
15:27from the two Alpines
15:29and quite a good tow
15:30but so will
15:31Piastri on that
15:33and he is now
15:34Piastri
15:34within DRS
15:36zone territory.
15:38He is under
15:39the second
15:40so the next time
15:40they come down
15:41the straight
15:41if he can stay there
15:42he is going to get
15:44that DRS
15:45assistance.
15:46Do you get DRS
15:47assistance when
15:47you're lapping cars
15:48as well
15:49if you're within
15:50a second
15:50of the lapped car
15:51in front of you?
15:52I believe you do.
15:53Because if you do
15:54that might just help
15:55Ollie Behrman a little bit
15:56too.
15:56There are three laps
15:57to go
15:57and he might just
15:59stumble on a bit
16:00of an extra speed
16:01as well.
16:01You just threw
16:02some doubt
16:03into my head
16:03there for something
16:04that's been around
16:05for a long time
16:06in F1 now
16:06but yes
16:07they do
16:08of course
16:08they do get
16:09the better of DRS.
16:10You're loving this
16:11aren't you?
16:11You spooked me
16:12with your question.
16:13Just making sure
16:14you're awake mate
16:15that's all.
16:15Don't worry about it.
16:16Oh I'm awake
16:17it's a great race
16:18and it's a phenomenal
16:19finish coming your way
16:20too.
16:20Things are going to
16:21swap around
16:21there are three laps
16:23to go.
16:23Out in front
16:24Lando Norris
16:25is on the verge
16:26of giving McLaren
16:27their first win
16:28in Mexico
16:28since 1989.
16:30Evander Holyfield
16:32is waiting
16:33to wave
16:34the chequered flag
16:35Lando Norris
16:36has landed
16:37not just a jab
16:38not just an uppercut
16:39but almost a knockout
16:40blow in the championship
16:41race.
16:42He is punching hard
16:44here today
16:44as punching through
16:45the air
16:46Oscar Piastri
16:47with DRS
16:48gets ever closer
16:49to Oli Behrmann
16:50in fourth
16:51but he still
16:52can't quite
16:53get past the Haas
16:54and this is for
16:55a little sparring
16:56jab return
16:57for himself
16:58to try and get back
16:59that championship lead
17:00which at the moment
17:01is going Lando Norris'
17:02way
17:02but it yet might
17:03still be Piastri's
17:04by the time
17:05Evander waves
17:06that chequered flag.
17:07Verstappen
17:08still getting closer
17:09to Leclerc
17:10but not quite
17:11close enough
17:11to be within
17:12one second.
17:14We're watching
17:14on board with him
17:15and facing
17:16rearwards with Behrmann.
17:18This is just brilliant.
17:19Two laps to go.
17:20Lando Norris
17:21first win from McLaren
17:22since 1989
17:24will be them
17:25as a double
17:26yellow flag.
17:27Sainz
17:27has come to a standstill
17:29in the stadium section
17:30so a couple of corners
17:32beyond where we are now
17:33you should be able
17:34to see
17:35a stranded Williams
17:36that's where we've got
17:37the double yellow there
17:38but look at this
17:39Charles Leclerc
17:40is now
17:41just a few car lengths
17:43ahead of Max Verstappen.
17:45Yeah but DRS
17:45is disabled Crofty
17:46because of yellow flag
17:47in zone one.
17:48Well it's not
17:49because Max Verstappen
17:50has got DRS
17:51going down that main straight.
17:53It'll be on the other
17:54back straight.
17:54Sorry.
17:55So he will have it here.
17:56And he's
17:56the crowd are roaring
17:57Max Verstappen on
17:59and even the roars
18:01of a sellout crowd
18:02in Mexico City
18:03couldn't quite get him
18:04past on that occasion.
18:06Behrman has got
18:07a bit of an advantage
18:08now over Piastri.
18:09He's eked out
18:09two or three tenths.
18:11Verstappen's coming back
18:12and Charles Leclerc
18:13once again
18:14is going to be down
18:15to the last lap here
18:16because he can't get past
18:17through turn four.
18:19Yeah the DRS
18:20is disabled.
18:21It says zone one
18:21somewhat confusingly
18:22but it's actually
18:23the straight
18:23between turn 11
18:25and 12
18:25where they're going to
18:26come up to
18:27in about 50 seconds.
18:28Safety car.
18:29We've got a virtual
18:30safety car
18:31and that
18:32is going to signal
18:34the end
18:35of this race.
18:36I would imagine
18:37as Carlos
18:38Scientist Williams
18:39is stranded
18:40by the side
18:41of the track
18:42the virtual safety car
18:43has now been thrown
18:44to allow the marshals
18:45to recover
18:46that Williams.
18:47Lando Norris
18:48starts his final
18:50lap of this race.
18:51If we don't have
18:53the virtual safety car
18:54ended
18:54Max Verstappen
18:56and all his
18:56brilliant efforts
18:57to get this close
18:59to Charles Leclerc
19:00is going to come
19:01to nothing
19:01and it's not going
19:02to go down well
19:03with Oscar Piastri
19:04either
19:04who was trying
19:05to get past
19:06Oli Behrman.
19:07Behrman and Leclerc
19:08will be smiling
19:09I'm sure
19:10at this virtual safety car.
19:11But the Williams
19:12is behind the barrier.
19:13I can see it there.
19:14They just drove past it.
19:15It was on the left-hand side
19:16clearly behind the barrier.
19:18I'm a little bit frustrated
19:21by this
19:21because I feel like
19:22we've been robbed
19:22of a finish here.
19:23They were standing
19:25in the grandstands
19:26for an outstanding finish
19:28but
19:29I'm with you Karun
19:31I just don't understand
19:32from what we can see
19:33of the on-board
19:34why we need
19:35a virtual safety car now
19:36and it has utterly robbed us
19:38of a brilliant finish
19:39here in Mexico City
19:41today.
19:42See the crowd
19:43is still roaring
19:43Max Verstappen
19:44and unaware
19:46that he can't
19:46quite get past
19:47and probably a bit unaware
19:48as to why he's going
19:49at 40% of his speed.
19:51Yeah
19:51you know
19:51Max Verstappen
19:52I'm sure will be on the radio
19:53complaining about this
19:54because it's
19:55you know
19:55we could see
19:56the scientist car
19:57is parked on the left-hand side
19:58away from
20:00one of the slowest corners
20:01of the calendar
20:02it's ending
20:02BSC's ending.
20:04Right
20:04we are going to get
20:05half a lap of racing
20:06for Verstappen
20:07and for Charles Leclerc
20:10Lando Norris
20:10is coming through
20:11the stadium now
20:12on his way
20:13for his 7th victory
20:14in 2025
20:16Oli Behrman
20:17has got to be
20:18aware of what's happening
20:20Verstappen's chasing Leclerc
20:21nobody
20:22has got within
20:23Lando Norris
20:24this weekend
20:25they tried to chase
20:26they didn't come close
20:277th win of the season
20:29for Lando Norris
20:30maximum points
20:32as he hits back
20:34in Mexico City
20:35now
20:36all eyes turn
20:37to the battle of a second
20:38can Verstappen
20:39somehow
20:40manage to find a way
20:41pass Charles Leclerc
20:42who's hanging on
20:43with those medium tyres
20:45they are roaring
20:46the Red Bull
20:47through the stadium here
20:48Charles Leclerc
20:49driving brilliantly
20:50in defence
20:51Lando Norris
20:52takes the victory
20:53it's going to be
20:54Charles Leclerc
20:54in second place
20:56Verstappen
20:57comes home in third
20:58Norris and Verstappen
21:00both outscore
21:01the championship leader
21:03Oscar Piastri
21:04who has battled back
21:05from 7th on the grid
21:06but it's going to be
21:075th for him
21:08it's going to be
21:09a career best 4th
21:10for Oli Behrmann
21:11and a 2nd 4th
21:13best place finish
21:15for the Haas team
21:16in Formula 1
21:17take a bow
21:18the Bear Essentials
21:20are there today
21:21Kimi Antonelli
21:22comes home in 6th

21:29beautiful weekend
21:30well done everyone
21:31incredible result
21:33wonderful car
21:35thanks for the hard work
21:36keep it up
21:37we need to keep it up
21:38thank you guys
21:39he sounds so calm
21:43about it as well
21:44Antonelli 6th
21:45Russell 7th
21:45Hamilton 8th
21:46Ocon hangs on
21:474th 9th
21:48and Bortoletto
21:48the last point scorer
21:501 point for him
21:51and 1 point
21:53in the championship
21:54between Lando Norris
21:56and Oscar Piastri
21:58four weekends to go
21:59charge but to none
22:03cool down the car
22:03well done
22:04yeah good job
22:05it was
22:06it was quite a tough one
22:09four weekends to go
22:14including two sprints
22:15in Brazil and Qatar
22:17it's going to be
22:19incredible
22:20just one point between them
22:21116 points
22:22then up for grabs
22:23and the form
22:25the momentum
22:26is with Lando
22:27you have to say
22:28he's come from
22:2834 points behind
22:30that's P4
22:33P4
22:34yes
22:35come on
22:35good job
22:37amazing Oli
22:39amazing
22:40had never
22:42had never
22:42previously completed a lap
22:45in the top 6 of a Grand Prix
22:46before today
22:48Oli Behrman
22:49your salesforce
22:50driver of the day
22:51round of applause
22:53from the commentary box
22:53quite frankly
22:54that was magnificent
22:55Mercedes and the constructors
22:57I'll say
22:57driver of the day
22:59Oli Behrman
22:59driver of the weekend
23:00Lando Norris
23:01can I have that?
23:02yeah you can have that
23:03Ferrari go a full year
23:05without a victory
23:06with Charles Leclerc
23:08taking second place
23:09hanging on to second place
23:11I'd like to see
23:12a few more camera angles
23:13as to why we needed that VSC
23:15the virtual safety car
23:17at the end
23:18it helped Leclerc
23:19it definitely protected him
23:21it protected Behrman
23:22from Piastri as well
23:23that could have been
23:24two more points
23:25that got away
23:26from Oscar Piastri there
23:27however
23:28Lando Norris
23:30was untroubled
23:32out in front
23:33what a thrilling end
23:35to the season
23:36this is going to be
23:37I think Behrman
23:38would have hung on actually
23:39because he was about
23:39eight tenths in front
23:40I think Leclerc
23:41would have been in trouble
23:42because the tyre delta
23:44was also not
23:45in his favour there
23:46so yeah
23:47he'll be relieved
23:48and happy
23:48I mean another podium
23:49for Charles Leclerc
23:50his seventh podium
23:51of the season
23:52on a weekend
23:54where Ferrari
23:55looked pretty competitive
23:56didn't they
23:56started second
23:57finished second
23:58he'll be very pleased
23:59with that
23:59Max Verstappen
24:01the sixth consecutive
24:02podium finish
24:03this season
24:04he only got five
24:05podiums in the first
24:06fourteen Grand Prix
24:08and his first podium
24:09here in Mexico
24:10that isn't a win
24:11a five time race
24:13winner of course
24:14here
24:14and no podium
24:16for Oscar Piastri
24:17is that four weekends
24:18in a row
24:19Murray's appeared
24:21in part firm eight
24:22rather than going
24:23straight to where
24:24the top three are
24:25it was a fifth
24:26in Austin
24:26a fourth in Singapore
24:28he didn't finish
24:29in Baku
24:30that's
24:31well put it this way
24:33it almost feels
24:34that Lando Norris
24:35is skipping
24:36over the waves
24:37on a freshly
24:38greased up
24:39surfboard
24:40and Oscar Piastri
24:41is just getting
24:42bogged down
24:43in the shallows
24:44a little bit
24:44here's Oli Behrman
24:45he's looking around
24:46for his team
24:47his mechanics
24:48what a great result
24:49for that whole team
24:50they're the smallest
24:51team in F1
24:52they've got the smallest
24:52budget
24:53the smallest factory
24:54the smallest
24:54workforce
24:55facilities
24:56and they've really
24:58punched above their
24:59weight
24:59Holyfield would be
25:00pleased with that
25:01and he'll light your
25:02line as well
25:03I am
25:04I'm sure of that
25:05Charles Leclerc
25:09what a race
25:10he hung on
25:1140 laps
25:12on those medium
25:13tyres
25:14he did
25:14yeah it's a shame
25:16for Lewis
25:17isn't it
25:17you know
25:18that
25:18I still think
25:19the team
25:19could have helped
25:20him there
25:20by just giving
25:21a bit of
25:21of course
25:21Lewis himself
25:22should have known
25:23and seen
25:23that he'd opened
25:25up that gap
25:26but in his head
25:27it's a legacy
25:28of what happened
25:28in the driver's mind
25:31he's still thinking
25:31about
25:32oh I got bumped
25:32at turn 1
25:33what's happening
25:34there
25:34you know
25:35we were both
25:36off at turn 4
25:36his mind is elsewhere
25:38and I think the team
25:39could have helped
25:39him out
25:40and also
25:40Charles Leclerc
25:41obviously going off
25:43into the grass
25:43at turn 1
25:45right at the start
25:46felt there was
25:47no space there
25:48but he disappeared
25:49off
25:50and came back on
25:51with more
25:52of an advantage
25:53than when he left
25:54the track
25:54but race control
25:55decided that was
25:56lap 1 turn 1
25:57and we're not
25:58going to look at it
25:58yeah
25:59honestly I kind of
26:01agree with it
26:02I know other people
26:03may not
26:03but I agree with that
26:04one
26:04I think it was okay
26:05there were lots
26:06of other people
26:07and there was lots
26:07of other things
26:08going on there
26:08so I thought
26:10that was fine
26:11what time's your
26:12flight tonight
26:12why
26:13because you've got
26:14about 5 hours
26:15on the skypad
26:16to go through
26:17and that's the
26:18first quarter
26:18of the first lap
26:19at the very least
26:20yeah there's a lot
26:21that happened
26:21in that race
26:21isn't it
26:22certainly was
26:24so in the
26:25drivers championship
26:263-5-7 points
26:28for that man there
26:29well not that man
26:30but the caricature
26:32Lando Norris
26:33Oscar Piastri
26:34the other guy
26:351 point behind
26:37Max Verstappen
26:393-2-1 points
26:40so 36 points
26:42behind Lando Norris
26:44who is the new
26:45championship leader
26:46and George Russell
26:48is still in
26:49mathematical contention
26:50of winning the
26:51championship
26:51and James Hinchcliffe
26:53is about to talk
26:54talk to the top
26:55three
26:56and we're down
26:58here in the stadium
26:59with your top three
27:00and let's start
27:00right here with
27:01McLaren's Lando Norris
27:02sixth win
27:03on the season
27:04Lando from pole
27:06led every lap
27:07and you are now
27:08the leader
27:08of the world
27:09drivers championship
27:10just tell us
27:11how you're feeling
27:11about the day
27:12I didn't hear a
27:13thing you said
27:14but I love it
27:16thank you guys
27:18what a race
27:19you know
27:20I mean I could
27:21just keep my eyes
27:22focused
27:22it was you know
27:24I could just keep
27:24the eyes forward
27:25and focus on
27:26what I was doing
27:27a pretty
27:29straightforward
27:29race for me
27:30which is just
27:31what I was after
27:32you know
27:32so good start
27:33good launch
27:34good first lap
27:34and could go
27:35from there
27:35let's talk about
27:37that start though
27:37we talked so much
27:38about the start
27:39here being so tough
27:40with that long
27:40run down to turn
27:41one
27:41just tell us
27:42how you managed
27:43it so perfectly
27:43while it was
27:44complete chaos
27:45behind you
27:45just stay relaxed
27:49you know
27:49yeah just
27:51get a good launch
27:53that was the best
27:53thing I think
27:54I got a much
27:54better launch
27:55than the guys
27:55around
27:56but man
27:57this is awesome
27:57here
27:57this is unbelievable
27:59so yeah
28:00my first win
28:01here in Mexico
28:01a beautiful one
28:03to win
28:03especially here
28:04in the stadium
28:05so yeah
28:06a big thanks
28:07to all the fans
28:07we said
28:08after qualifying
28:09you said
28:10we'll just see
28:10how much
28:11I'm going to win by
28:11it was 32 seconds
28:12congratulations

28:32for us
28:32but we didn't
28:32know what to expect
28:34for this weekend
28:35and to end up
28:35again on the podium
28:36is a great surprise
28:38so yeah
28:38very happy
28:39to be doing
28:40being on this
28:42amazing podium
28:42once again
28:43it's a mammoth
28:44second stint
28:45from you
28:45trying to manage tires
28:46and manage the gap
28:47to Max
28:48just how tough
28:49was it
28:49trying to keep
28:49your tires
28:50in the window
28:50and not let him
28:51by
28:51and how relieved
28:52were you
28:53for that virtual
28:53safety car
28:54at the end
28:54I was
28:56I was quite happy
28:57about the safety car
28:58at the end
28:58my tires were
28:59completely gone
29:00and I could see
29:01Max was coming back
29:02on the softer tire
29:03so it was tough
29:04but I think
29:05the safety car
29:06saved me at the end
29:07well look
29:07wave to these fans
29:08they're definitely
29:09big Ferrari and
29:09Charlotte Claire fans
29:10congratulations
29:11thank you
29:11thank you
29:12Max
29:12heck of a drive
29:14from you
29:15but I think
29:16you had one of
29:17the most exciting
29:17races of anybody
29:18off the start
29:19through the grass
29:20twice
29:20just kind of
29:21walk us through
29:21those first couple
29:22laps
29:22four wide
29:23into turn one
29:24and that little
29:24battle with Lewis
29:25how did you see it all
29:26yeah it was
29:27very hectic
29:28the beginning
29:28of the race
29:29for me
29:29we had a very good
29:30start
29:30and then of course
29:31it's such a long
29:32run to turn one
29:33and we were on the
29:34outside
29:34and yeah
29:35three four wide
29:35so I had to be
29:36on that curb
29:37it kept bottoming
29:38out all the way
29:38so almost crashed
29:39into well
29:40over the grass
29:41and then even
29:42after that
29:42there was a lot
29:43going on
29:43everyone around me
29:45was on soft tires
29:45I was on the medium
29:46and it looked like
29:47that was a bit
29:47of a struggle
29:48so it was about
29:49surviving the first
29:50stint
29:50trying to
29:51go as long
29:51as we could
29:52on the tires
29:52once we bolted
29:55on the softs
29:55I think we were
29:56a little bit
29:56more competitive
29:57a bit happier
29:58I mean it's been
29:58a difficult weekend
29:59for us
29:59but to be fighting
30:01for P2
30:02with everything
30:03that happened
30:03in the first
30:03year laps
30:04I think it's still
30:04a very strong result
30:07again we talked
30:08to Charles
30:09about how happy
30:09he must have been
30:10that that VSC
30:11come out
30:11it must have been
30:12a bummer for you
30:12ten seconds
30:13you caught him
30:13in that Mammoth
30:14final stint as well
30:15was that just
30:16a bit of a letdown
30:17I mean you win
30:18some you lose
30:18some right
30:19sometimes the safety
30:19car works for you
30:20and sometimes
30:20it works against you
30:21real quick
30:22we heard a conversation
30:23between you and GP
30:24on the radio
30:25asking hey
30:25if we were on
30:26a one stop
30:27or a two stop
30:27I think it was
30:28on the wrong button
30:29it was not meant
30:29for me
30:30was it ever going
30:30to be a two stop
30:31for you or you guys
30:32one stop from the beginning
30:33depending on the deck
30:34right so I think
30:36at one point
30:36we were quite committed
30:37to a one stop
30:38okay well congratulations
30:39on a great run
30:40and just Lando
30:40finally back to you
30:42you've been on such a run
30:45so much momentum
30:46how much does this
30:48help you now
30:48heading into Brazil
30:49in these final four Grand Prix
30:50I mean it's one weekend
30:53at a time
30:54it's one weekend
31:02at a time
31:02so you know
31:03I'm happy
31:03I'm focused on myself
31:05I keep my head down
31:06I ignore all of this
31:08and yeah
31:09I keep to myself
31:09and it's working
31:10at the minute
31:11so I'm happy
31:11all right
31:12keep doing what you're doing
31:12congratulations

31:18the crowd of the stadium
31:20love to see Max Verstappen
31:21they love seeing Charles Leclerc
31:23when I was up there
31:24as the drivers
31:25were coming through
31:25on the track parade
31:26there were a few boos
31:27for Lando Norris
31:28there were a few more
31:29boos there as well
31:30what the Mexican crowd
31:32got against Lando Norris
31:34I wonder
31:35I'm going to work it out
31:37did he have a rivalry
31:39with Perez
31:40did he
31:41who knows
31:42I don't know
31:43I genuinely don't know
31:45Viva Mexico
31:46I mean I hate booing anyway
31:48whatever it happens
31:49on this planet
31:50I hate it when people
31:51were booing Max
31:52in certain races
31:54and you know
31:55I think it's just wrong
31:56so you know
31:57Lando's done an outstanding job
31:59and that should be applauded
