00:00This year, when they had the third best record in baseball through June 12th, Freed is arguably

00:06second or third for AL Cy Young, and Judge is the MVP of the whole sport, not just the AL.

00:13Well, since then, Judge has both descended and got hurt, and Freed had the blister and descended.

00:21And the chorus, what you count on to be like, let's play baseball well. Let's win the games

00:27when Judge doesn't hit a homer. Let's win the games when Freed doesn't pitch well.

00:32It's not the psyche of the team. It's not the culture of the team. And therefore, they don't

00:39win. They sit around and they wait for heroes and homers. It's the H&H of their thing. And oftentimes,

00:47because of the way their payroll is structured, they have heroes and they have homers. And this

00:56year, they certainly have homers. But it hasn't been as frequent as in the second half of the

01:01season. In all the games in particular, there's a lot of unplugged games. And when they don't have

01:07the heroes and they don't have the homers, all the things they're not good at really crest.

01:17And again, the fact that it bothers their fan base reporters more than it seems to

01:23kill a team whose standards is and should be parade or bust, then there's something wrong with the

01:36infrastructure. And I think that everyone's been at the party for a long time.

01:43And if somebody within the group doesn't stand up and have the balls to say, sometimes the king

01:52is not wearing any clothes and we're not that good at baseball, and why, even as we get better

02:00baseball players, are we continuing to have these issues where we cannot win a game by playing baseball

02:07well? Especially after the first third of the season for four straight years. There's something

02:15that becomes mentally weak about us as the season goes along. This shouldn't be unacceptable to Ryan

02:24Sampson. It shouldn't be unacceptable to Joel Sherman. It should be unacceptable to Hal Steinbrenner.

02:29It should be unacceptable to Brian Cashman. It should be unacceptable to Aaron Boone.

02:33It should be unacceptable to Aaron Judge. These are the people who ultimately, this era of Yankee

02:40baseball, the mark will go on them. The mark will go on them. And if this team continues to topple

02:50and falls even out of an ugly first round playoff loss, but simply doesn't make the playoffs at all,

02:58I think it's very, very hard to justify whatever you leave intact, not bringing in a voice that has

03:10not just as window dressing. Hey, Brian Sabian's in the room. Omar Mania's in the room.

03:17A voice that says you're doing it wrong. And if you don't change, that is lunacy because you will keep

03:27repeating this because there's no way to watch this and say, they play an acceptable level of baseball.

03:33They do one thing. Well, they hit a ball over the fence.
