00:02After dropping the first game to Miami,

00:05do you feel like these next three games have taken on,

00:08and I'll put it like this,

00:09must-sweep energy to keep the locker room spirit high

00:12and the fans engaged?

00:13And is it fair to say that late in August

00:15that these next three games against the Marlins

00:17were in must-sweep territory?

00:19The Mets, I think, came into the series

00:20probably having to win three out of these four games here

00:22to keep the good vibes going.

00:25Andrew, but do they have to win these next three games?

00:28What do you say?

00:29Yes.

00:30They absolutely do.

00:31It's everything that you accomplished

00:35in the three games against the Phillies

00:37goes out the window if you split with the Marlins

00:39or, God forbid, lose three out of four to the Marlins.

00:43Any good vibes, any positive steps forward,

00:46or just the race.

00:47If you look like world beaters against a team in August

00:51and then play down to your competition,

00:54you play the same unserious baseball that we've seen

00:56for the last three months from this team.

00:59And, look, they don't have any excuses, really.

01:02Everybody's healthy for the most part.

01:03I know Francisco Alvarez is down,

01:06and Nimmo's dealing with a neck thing,

01:09and Nimmo, McNeil had an issue earlier last week.

01:15So, like, if it was – it'd be different if you were the Yankees

01:17and you had the built-in excuse of we lost Stanton for a while

01:21and Judge went down and has the arm thing,

01:23and Garrett Cole missed the whole season,

01:25and Luis Heal was down for a while.

01:29The Mets don't have those issues right now.

01:32Everybody's healthy for the most part.

01:33So, your healthy 25- or 26-man roster should be able to take three out of four

01:39from the third or fourth-placed team in your division.

01:42And if you want to prove that you belong in the same conversation

01:46as the Phillies,

01:47then you've got to go take three out of four from the Marlins

01:50and make sure you stay within a pace or within a range

01:54that when you go to Philadelphia in a couple of weeks,

01:57that's not you trying to get back into, like, back below four games again.

02:02This needs to be a team that now has shown

02:04that they're ready to play serious baseball in September,

02:07or as the great Fred Wilpon once said,

02:09meaningful baseball in September.

02:12If you're going to lose three out of four to the Marlins,

02:15just let me know when the 6-3 matchup starts,

02:17and I'll prepare for you to be the six seed.
