00:00The Giants have reincarnated Jeremy Shockey, bringing the energy to the offense, but he doesn't play tight end.
00:07It's this guy right here, running back Cam Scattable, and this kid brings it every single carry, every single time this kid touches the rock.
00:16So that's the Eagles. Scatt had a bounce back game from the Saints loss and Thursday night's win over Philly.
00:21He posted his best game in his short career with 19 carries for 98 yards and three tutties on the day.
00:28So in this Blue Rush film breakdown, I'm going to highlight a couple of his runs where 44 brought the boom, and then I got to explain what those runs meant for the Giants run game.
00:39But before we get into it, let's give a little Cam Scattaboo.
00:43Woo! Let's break this thing down, baby.
00:47All right, first play here.
00:49They window dressed a toss sweep, and this kid brought the boom at the end.
00:56We're going to watch it, then we're going to break it down on the tight.
00:58Let me get out of your way.
01:04You can see the motion over here.
01:07Theo Johnson.
01:09Nice toss sweep.
01:11A lot of room, and you see him bring the wood at the end.
01:15I'm here in the stadium.
01:17You guys know I'm the endgame emcee or emcee.
01:19I heard the stadium.
01:21I heard how turnt up he got after that run.
01:24All right, let's break this thing down because as a former wide receiver, yeah, you want to throw the ball, but when you've got a guy like this that can tote the rock and get you yards, oh, you are going to block for this, man.
01:34All right, let's break this thing down.
01:36Again, they window dressed a toss sweep.
01:38You've got the three-by-one here.
01:40You've got the bunch with Jalen Hyatt, Wondell Robinson, and Theo Johnson.
01:44That forces Vic Fangio and the Eagles' defense to overload to the left side, but the Giants will start to play here, are going to motion Theo Johnson over, and it now becomes a two-on-two because you can't see wide receiver Lil' Jordan Humphrey there.
02:01So we're going to rewind that just a little bit because I want to highlight this block from Lil' Jordan Humphrey.
02:08Usually when we have these toss sweeps, we call it down, down, and around.
02:12Two guys are blocking down the pin, and then you have a guy to wrap around or run around and clean things up.
02:18But the way the Giants window dressed it, wide receiver who was in that tight, close split, now he goes down, the down block to seal the edge.
02:28Seal that edge rusher, level one, level two, doesn't matter.
02:31Whoever's the in-man line of scrimmage, you've got to go down, you've got to seal him.
02:35You saw Theo Johnson wrap around, we'll talk about him, and you're going to see as we slowly start this play, you're going to see Jermaine Illuminor now becomes the next down defender.
02:48When he sees color, he has to engage and he has to seal that block.
02:54So now this gives Cam Scadaboo an entire lane to run through.
02:58Great job by Theo Johnson here looking for work.
03:03Look at the contact there.
03:05Look at all this real estate Scadaboo has to run.
03:08And I'm going to make sure we play this thing in real time.
03:11When you watch the finish, boom!
03:15And he continues to go to get the first down.
03:18Everyone was hyped in the stadium.
03:20You see the players right there.
03:21I think that's Van Roten signaling for the first down.
03:24Great play design to get Cam Scadaboo in space.
03:28And I love the way he delivered the blow and finished the run.
03:33Alright, second play.
03:34This little Tasmanian devil is showing some grown man strength as a rookie.
03:39Let's play it and then we're going to break it down from the tight.
03:43Giants had to score here.
03:45Needed to score here after putting together a pretty solid drive.
03:50Meets two guys in the hole.
03:54How about that's your own little tush push right there for the Giants.
03:59Let's play this thing from the beginning because it looks even better from the tight
04:03than what it did from the wide.
04:06I don't even need to break down what the offensive line is doing here.
04:09This is all about 44.
04:11It's all about Cam Scadaboo.
04:13Let's go.
04:14We'll start this and then I'll pause it when we need to.
04:18There you go.
04:19Having some sort of talk, communication.
04:21Hey dude, you do.
04:21Pause it here.
04:22What do we have here, ladies and gentlemen?
04:25We've got two unblocked Eagles against Cam Scadaboo.
04:31Now, take it back to the Chargers game when he had a one-on-one with the DB and it was
04:37like a first or second and goal and he got chopped down by the safety and the Giants had
04:42to kick a field goal and not get six points or seven points for the end of that drive.
04:48Fast forward to today.
04:50I mean, last Thursday night when you've got two guys running free in the lane and you are
04:58imposing your will on two defenders.
05:00Let's finish this play like he finishes this run.
05:07Touchdown Giants on the play.
05:10The importance of having a back that can finish runs, that can put his head down, not literally
05:16Scadaboo, but can put his head down, continue to pump his feet and to gain those tough yardage.
05:23The Giants run game has been missing this and on this three touchdown night performance,
05:28he showed that he could be that guy.
05:30Let's go on to the next play.
05:32All right.
05:32I believe that this is his best run of the night because of the way he showed patience.
05:39He exploded into the second and third levels and he held on to the football.
05:43We're talking four-minute offense here.
05:46You're trying to run the clock out and you always love to end a game in victory formation,
05:50but you got to get the Eagles to burn some timeouts and you got to get a first down or
05:56two to get that clock.
05:58Just tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.
05:59Let's play the tape, watch the run, and then of course we're going to break it down again.
06:08Simple handoff, great blocking, has a hole to go through and get some hard, tough yards
06:14here for a 10-yard run.
06:16You see Andrew Thomas.
06:17Andrew Thomas, the most quiet guy on the Giants team.
06:20Don't talk any trash, putting the hands out right there because he knows the importance
06:24of this run.
06:25Let's break it down on the wide.
06:26All right, the one thing that I want to highlight here, I'm not really worried about the blocking
06:32combinations or the schemes.
06:34That's O-line.
06:35Y'all go talk about what y'all do in the run.
06:37I want to highlight the patience.
06:39I want to highlight how he presses this B gap to make a linebacker commit and then cuts
06:44it backside and gets north-south.
06:47Let's watch this run right here.
06:50This kid is showing.
06:50I asked him in the locker room a couple weeks ago, when has the game started slowing down
06:54for you?
06:55He said the second half of the Dallas game.
06:57And I'm going to show you why here.
06:59This kid gets it.
07:00He knows and knows that he knows.
07:03All right, here we go.
07:04Let's start this off nice and slow.
07:05Pause it here.
07:0753.
07:08Believe that's Zach Bond.
07:09Reads this.
07:10Trying to take that C gap away.
07:11Anyway, you have a guard that pulled.
07:15I believe that's Mark Runyon Jr.
07:18I believe that's Runyon Jr. who pulls here.
07:22You got one-on-ones here.
07:23Now, what he does, and we'll slow this down.
07:26As you see him patiently press this C gap, Zach Bond is ready to shoot it, ready to meet
07:32him there.
07:33But by pressing it, he allows this pulling guard to, one, help here, seal here, and get
07:41to the second level and get a body or get contact on Zach Bond.
07:46You love it.
07:47An offensive lineman is going to love that.
07:50A patient running back that can set a block up for you to make your job a lot easier.
07:56Cam Scadaboo is showing that he is the future of the Giants' run game.
08:0298 yards on the day, two more yards would have gotten him his first 100-yard game.
08:08But I'm going to tell you this.
08:09This little bowling ball, he's built for contact.
08:12And he's rocking that 44 and making Ahmad Bradshaw proud with the way that he's running
08:17the rock.
08:17And trust me, I know that for a fact because Ahmad has said that numerous times talking
08:22about Cam Scadaboo.
08:24Great bounce-back game for the rookie.
08:27The way he finished the runs, had the stadium all the way turned up.
08:31And juiced up.
08:33And it's great to see the Giants getting some quality runs in the run game again.
