How to perform

Exercise Description
1. Get on a lateral raise machine with your back against the support, knees bent and feet resting on the foot supports.
2. Raise your arms and keep your elbows positioned against the pads.
3. Lift the pads by spreading your elbows outward in an arc that reaches shoulder height.
4. Lower your arms and repeat the movement.

Exercise Tips
1. Do not lean forward, and keep your back straight.
2. Ensure your glutes remain in contact with the pad throughout the exercise.
3. Exhale as you lift your arms; inhale deeply as you lower them.

Spotting Tips
1. The spotter can stand beside the machine and lift the shoulder leaves directly.
2. Optionally, the spotter can stand behind the partner and assist by lifting from the elbows.
3. Avoid sudden and jerky movements.
