23 October - National Evening Forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:01A change from stormy weather to chilly weather as we head through this evening overnight.
00:06It should remain mostly frost free.
00:08There's still plenty of brisk northerly winds out there, really adding on to the chill as
00:12we head through this evening and even as we progress into tomorrow.
00:15There is also going to be some showers, particularly around coastal areas.
00:18These could be heavy with some hail, particularly around areas of the west where low pressure
00:23largely dominates, but mostly dry, plenty of clear skies across central England and
00:27parts of the southeast and it's going to be a much brighter start here if you compare
00:31it to what we saw this morning.
00:33And through the course of Friday, we will see a mix of showers and also some brighter spells.
00:38Once again, some of these showers could be quite heavy, particularly as they push their
00:41way into parts of the west and quite persistent outbreaks of rain at times across northeast
00:46Scotland and also northeast England.
00:47And it's still going to be very blustery, not quite as windy as we saw this afternoon, but
00:52still very blustery around those exposed coastal areas.
00:55Where we see the strongest of the winds in any exposed spots, it is going to be feeling
00:59that much chillier.
01:00Highs only reaching around 12 to 13 degrees Celsius across parts of the south.
01:07Then into the evening, once again, further showers, spells of rain, still plenty of brisk
01:12winds crossing their way across the country, dragging in those showers, which might just
01:15start to bring in a little bit of winteriness across the Scottish Highlands as we progress
01:20through into the weekend.
01:21Still, once again, a few more clearer skies on the clouds across England and Wales, but
01:26where it's still fairly blustery, once again, mostly frost free, but it is going to be feeling
01:31chilly first thing and through much of the day in those winds.
01:34So, once again, any exposed areas, that's where you're really going to feel the wind chill
01:38into Saturday.
01:39But notice much of England and Wales should be mostly dry and bright, but still some showers
01:44on the cards, mainly around any coastal areas.
01:47Now, if we take a look at those temperatures, similar to what we'll see on Friday.
01:52Highs reaching around 12 to 13 degrees Celsius in the south, but if we add on that wind chill,
01:57this is more likely what it's going to be feeling like.
01:59So, in Scotland, for example, feeling more like freezing in those northerly winds.
02:04And this theme is set to continue for much of the weekend and as we progress into next week.
02:09Low pressure out to the east, high pressure out to the west, really maintaining that northerly
02:14wind through into the early part of next week.
02:17But notice low pressure never too far away, so we are going to continue to see some rain
02:20and showers at times.
02:21Now, if you want more updates on this weekend's weather, well, why don't you take a look at
02:25our YouTube channel where Aidan will have all the details.
