14 October - National Evening Forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Hello there welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04Office. A lot of cloud overnight, murkiness as well and even some drizzly
00:09showers. High pressure remains really dominant across the UK but as the air
00:14descends it traps that cloud and with that if you see some breaks temperatures
00:19falling quite quickly. Light breezes into Thursday as well as Friday but a
00:24change on its way. It's coming in from the Atlantic very slowly into the
00:28weekend. Certainly some of you will notice the difference as we head through to
00:32Sunday. For the time being a little bit of rain and drizzle across the far north of
00:37Scotland. A bit of a breeze down towards the east coast of England, the southeast
00:41there. That cloud comes and goes. Some clearer skies across say western Scotland
00:46the far southwest of England. Generally speaking there will be a lot of cloud and
00:52low cloud at that shrouding the higher routes if you are traveling. Well you see
00:56those clear skies temperatures dipping down at the lowest probably in the glens.
00:59One or two degrees Celsius. First thing then tomorrow morning a bit of a gloomy start
01:04to the day. There will be some breaks particularly again to the lee of higher
01:08ground towards the west. So western Scotland. That cloud will be thick enough to
01:13produce a little rain and drizzle across Shetland and this breeze running down the
01:17North Sea will introduce more clouds and some dampness in the air across eastern
01:21counties. Brighter breaks West Wales, the west country, central parts of Scotland
01:26through the afternoon. A lot of cloud for Northern Ireland and here the odd spot or
01:30two of rain and drizzle again is possible. The temperatures arrive around 13 degrees
01:34Celsius here. Possibly 16 towards the south if you catch any brighter breaks. Your
01:39outlook then through Thursday. It looks like this. Mist and fog first thing. A bit of a
01:44chilly start. Temperatures struggling. A lot of low cloud. One or two lucky people will see
01:49some October sunshine and that's how we see Friday as well. It's worth noting things
01:54will change through the weekend as the wind picks up but for the time being more
01:58of the same. Wherever you are take care. I'll see you again soon.
