00:00Speaking of rain over us here in London, it has been a light rain all day long and expect to continue throughout much of the day.
00:10Rich Eisen, along with Kurt Warner up here, Sarah Walsh down on the pitch. Sarah?
00:15Rich, soggy conditions in London, those may be the norm.
00:18What has been completely unusual, though, is the Rams' travel schedule.
00:22They've only been on the ground for a little more than 24 hours.
00:26They arrived Saturday around 8.30, marking the latest arrival for an NFL game here in Europe.
00:32They had a walk-through at Wembley, and that marked the first time this team had been on a football field since last Sunday
00:39because they spent all week in Baltimore practicing at a ballpark, Camden Yards, the Orioles' place.
00:45Linebacker Byron Young told me that this week had the feel of getting ready for a bowl game.
00:50Asked about the quick turnaround, though, to Matt Stafford and how it might affect him.
00:55And Stafford told me, we're going to rip the Band-Aid off and see what happens.
00:58And he said, Rich, I have never been in a second quarter and thought I needed some extra sleep.
01:04That's true indeed.
01:05There's Sean McVay in his ninth season coaching the Los Angeles Rams.
01:10And with the rain, his hair gel process is going to be under stress all day today, Kurt.
01:15And they said that, you know, he's never said, I'm tired in a game.
01:19But when we asked him and Devontae Adams about it, both of them were kind of like, yeah, but we don't know what we're getting into.
01:25We've never been in this situation before.
01:27Is it just like going from the West Coast to the East Coast?
01:30I guess we're going to see.
01:32And we're going to see Liam Cohen's offense out there first.
01:34The former Los Angeles Ram assistant, now head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
01:43The Rams won the toss and elected to defer to the second half.
01:48So, as I mentioned, at the top of the broadcast, two, four, and two teams.
01:55That is a rarity for an international series game.
01:59Only the fourth international series game in the history of it to feature two teams, both at least two games over 500.
02:08You saw the last one on NFL Network from Frankfurt, Germany, when the Chiefs and the Dolphins took on one another a couple of years ago.
02:15So, two teams that are two games above 500, meeting for the seventh time in the fourth different venue.
02:27They're home stadiums.
02:29And right here in Wembley, they also played another in another international site.
02:37So, that makes it four.
02:40Joshua Carty about to kick this one off.
02:42Miami Brown, back to receive along with Parker Washington, number 11 on your screen.
02:50This is the 60th all-time international series game for the National Football League.
02:57Picks off 112 days away from Super Bowl, number 16.
03:03Quite the scene here in Wembley.
03:06Flags waving and a ball in the air.
03:08And it is Brown who receives it at his goal line.
03:14Takes across the 20.
03:15And he is stopped just after he reaches the 30-yard line.
03:22So, out comes Trevor Lawrence.
03:24First game in two years.
03:25He's coming off of a game in which he had 250 yards passing, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, Kurt.
03:32And really, for Trevor Lawrence, it's about consistency.
03:34We've seen all the upside, all the things we want to see from a number one overall quarterback, an elite quarterback.
03:40But it's about doing it consistently.
03:42The layups, the right reads, making those big-time throws each and every time out.
03:48What he's trying to secure at this stage in his career.
03:52He's got fellow Clemson Tiger, Travis Etienne, to his left from the 30-yard line.
03:57The first play of this game on a Week 7 Sunday is going to be changed.
04:05And it is a pass.
04:08Lance is taken down by the man of the hour of the Los Angeles Rams, Jared Burst, who is on a heater.
04:17Kurt Warner, he is on a heater.
04:19And it really started after Week 2.
04:21You're going to see him on the left-hand side of the screen here.
04:25But after Week 2, he sat down with Coach McVay.
04:28And McVay said, OK, we're not getting the same Jared Burst here in these first couple weeks.
04:33He said he was allowing the pass to get into the present, refocused him.
04:36And as you said, he has been playing lights out since then.
04:39A sack and a forced bumble in three to four games since then.
04:42He already has a sack here.

04:46And he gets the sack, lost yardage back, and a little bit more.
04:52So it's going to be third and long for the Jacksonville Jaguars offense.
04:56That does get their center Robert Hainsey back, which is always crucial.
05:00And then we'll see what the rest of the offense is going to do with Johnny Munt in.

05:36It's a nice ball there just slipping through Washington's hands at the last second out.

05:53And that's how Matthew Stafford takes the field.
06:02Kurt Warner, I turn things over to the Rams quarterback who's won a Super Bowl in the booth about what you think of him.
06:08Well, a lot of questions coming in with the back injury and all the time that he missed in training camp.
06:12But he sure hasn't seemed to slow him down much for the first time in his career leading the NFL in pass yards.
06:18It's been more about the pass this year than the run.
06:21We know all about the fact that Buka Nakua not playing today.
06:25So, interesting to see how Sean McVay employs the rest of the guys to fill that production void by their great wide receiver.
06:33Yeah, all the hand-wringing in the summer about let his back be ready.
06:36All he does is taking this snap here.
06:38He leads the league in passing.
06:40And he's going to pass in the first place.
06:42And he's going to go deep to Devontae Adams.
06:45Incomplete.
06:45So, without Buka Nakua, we knew that there would be more Devontae Adams.
06:52And we'll see who else can help pick up the slack from this terrific receiver being out.
06:58They do expect him back after the bye.
07:01Yeah, they don't expect it to be a long-term thing.
07:03But the biggest thing about Buka Nakua is what we call it every down wide receiver or every situation wide receiver.
07:10So, it's going to take a lot of guys to fill that void today.
07:13So, second and ten.

07:19He throws that one short.
07:21And it's tight end Colton Parkinson with the grab.
07:25Brings up third and manageable for a Jags defense that has been taking the football away to the tune of 14 takeaways.

07:38Devin Lloyd is out.
07:40And that really has been the story for this Jags defense about taking the football away.
07:45A conscious effort all year long to do that.

07:48Obviously, four of those interceptions and also a fumble recovery that they're going to be missing today without having the load.

08:07And the natural thing to think without Puka Nakua being in there is that a guy like Devontae Adams can take his spot as we look at the route here to the right-hand side.

08:22But you think, hey, we got Devontae Adams.
08:23Just plug him in where Puka plays.
08:26But as I was mentioning, Puka does so many different things that they're going to use a committee to fill that void and allow Devontae to play his spot as that ex-receiver.

08:55But as I said, it's been more about the pass than the run.

09:03And so they will use him in a lot of different ways, especially as they get close to the red zone.

09:29When you also see, you talked about being a little bit of rain, precipitation coming down.
09:33It almost feels like Matthew Stafford is just feeling this out a little bit.
09:37Not pushing the ball down the field very much.
09:40Just dumping it off.
09:41But hey, if you can dump it off, continue to get first downs as you feel this thing out, it's a good way to start.

11:40He's the guy that comes in and blocks for us.
11:42He's the guy that catches the quick wide receiver screens.
11:45He's the guy that goes across the middle and makes the tough catches.
11:47So there's not one guy that can fill that void.
11:50You're going to need everybody for this one.
