00:00Surah Ghashiyah
00:02Surah Ghashiyah was one of the earliest surahs when the Prophet Muhammad
00:09openly invited people to Islam.
00:12At that time, he focused on two main themes,
00:17belief in Allah and the afterlife or the Day of Judgment.
00:23But most people of Mecca were careless and ignored him.
00:29To wake up those careless people, Allah started the Surah by asking the people
00:36if they know when a great disaster or qiyamah, the resurrection day, will come.
00:43Because it will affect everyone and no people will live at that point.
00:50Then on the Day of Judgment, all the people will get their lives back.
00:55Allah will give rewards the good people and punish the bad people.
01:02The people will be so scared that their whole body will feel shaky and they will not be able to move.
01:10They will be very sad and ashamed.
01:16Their eyes will be lowered in fear because of all the bad things they did in their lives.
01:23When they realize that all their hard work on earth will be useless to Allah ,
01:29they will be very hopeless and tired.
01:34As a punishment for their bad actions, Allah will throw them into the hot burning fire.
01:43They will be so thirsty.
01:45But the only thing they get to drink is super hot water from a spring.
01:52Imagine drinking water that is hotter than a burning soup.
01:58And when they are hungry, the only food they will be able to eat.
02:03The only food they will get is a plant called Doria.
02:07It will be like very bitter thorns and will burn more than the hell fire.
02:14It is like eating something we found on the ground that is all sharp, yucky and burning hot.
02:22This food won't give them any energy or make their tummies feel full or stop their hunger.
02:29Instead, it will be like eating air.
02:32It's a punishment for them because they did bad things and made life hard for others.
02:39After talking about what happens to people who do bad things, Allah tells us what will happen to good people in heaven.
02:49When their faces will become full of joy.
02:53For the good people, Allah will give them a very comfortable and cozy life in heaven.
03:01Because of all the good things that they did in this world.
03:05The good people worked hard to be good and follow Allah's laws and order.
03:12In heaven, they will have amazing things like high thrones in a very beautiful garden.
03:20Beautiful springs and fountains and fancy cups ready for them to drink from.
03:27They will also have comfy cushions to sit on and very beautiful carpets spread out.
03:35It will be the most luxurious place ever.
03:39But it is not just about the fancy stuff.
03:43In heaven, there is no lying, no arguing, no sadness and no bad words.
03:51Everyone is at peace, surrounded by beauty and served by friendly neighbors.
03:58The best part is that they get to be close to Allah , feeling his love and being happy with him.
04:10It is way better than anything we can imagine here on earth.
04:16So, heaven is the perfect paradise where good people get to enjoy endless happiness and peace, surrounded by beauty and love.
04:29It is the ultimate reward for being good and pleasing Allah .
04:35After talking about heaven and its blessings, Allah mentions some examples of his amazing creations as signs of his power.
04:48First, he says to look at camels.
04:51Camels are strong and carry heavy loads.
04:55They can go without water for a long time and can eat thorny plants.
05:02They are like the ships of the desert.
05:06Then, Allah tells us to look at the sky.
05:12The sky is high and full of stars and galaxies.
05:17It is mind-blowing to think about how it all stays in place without falling down on us.
05:26Next, Allah talks about mountains.
05:32Mountains are like big shields that protect the earth.
05:37They store water and provide quiet places for thinking.
05:42Finally, Allah mentions the earth.
05:48Rain washes away mountains and spreads their dust to make the land flat and fertile.
05:58It is amazing to think about how the world was made perfectly, right for us to live on.
06:07All these things show Allah's power and wisdom.
06:14They remind us of how amazing our Creator is.
06:19Then, Allah orders Prophet Muhammad to remind people about Allah's power and blessings to us.
06:33But, he tells the Prophet to not force anyone to accept Islam.
06:39Instead, he should guide them to the right path in the most beautiful and best way.
06:47Everyone has the choice to believe in Allah or not,
06:52but they will be responsible for their actions to Allah in the end.
06:58So, the Prophet's job is to teach and guide, but he cannot force anyone to listen.
07:06It is up to each person to choose their path knowing that they will have to return to Allah on the Day of Judgment.
07:17And the good people will be rewarded in heaven.
07:21Bad people will get punished in the scary burning hellfire.
07:26May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala save us from the hellfire and guide each and every one of us to the right path in this world
07:37and send us to the highest place in heaven in the next.
07:42Ameen.
