00:05Long ago in the city of Madinah during the early days of Islam, there lived a man named Bashir from the clan of Banu al-Bayri.
00:15Some narrations mention his name as Dorma.
00:19He was a Munafiq or a false Muslim and pretended to be a true Muslim.
00:25But he was secretly mocking and making fun of the Prophet Muhammad and his followers.
00:34Now, one night Bashir broke into the house of a good man named Rifaa and stole a bag filled with valuable items
00:43including weapons, armor and some precious wheat flour which was very rare at that time in Madinah.
00:51The next morning when the good man Rifaa and his nephew found out, they began to ask around to see if anyone knew anything.
01:00Some people in the neighborhood said they saw light from the house of Banu al-Bayrik very late that night and they thought Bashir was the thief.
01:10When Bashir heard this, he tried to blame someone else.
01:15First, he blamed a good and honest man but when that did not work, he blamed a Jewish man instead.
01:22Bashir tried to make it look like the Jewish man was the thief and he even left a trail of flour from Rifaa's house to the house of the Jewish man and hid the stolen items there.
01:34When the stolen things were found, people believed that the Jewish man might be the thief.
01:40But Rifaa and his nephew were sure that Bashir was the real thief.
01:45They went to Prophet Muhammad and explained what they believed happened.
01:51But Bashir and his family also went to the Prophet and lied saying that they were innocent.
01:57They even said since the stolen things were found with the Jewish man, he must be guilty.
02:05At first, it seemed like the Jewish man was the thief and the Prophet thought so too because of the fake evidence.
02:14Then Allah revealed verses 105 to 109 from Surah An-Nisa.
02:20Allah told the Prophet what had really happened.
02:26The verses explained that Bashir was the real thief and he lied to protect himself.
02:32The stolen items were returned to Rifaa.
02:36But after Bashir's actions were exposed, he became scared for the punishment and escaped from Medina.
02:44Later, he joined the bad disbelievers in Mecca.
02:48But even there, his life did not go well.
02:52No one welcomed him when they found out what he did in Medina.
02:57And one day, as he tried to sneak in someone else's house, the wall he climbed through fell on him and he tragically died.
03:07His life ended in a way that reminded everyone that lying and dishonesty can never lead to peace or success.
03:16This story teaches us that Islam always stands for truth and justice.
03:22Allah does not like lying, cheating or treating people unfairly.
03:28No matter who someone is, everyone must be treated equally and the truth must always come first.
03:37Even though Bashir tried to hide his bad actions, the truth came out in the end.
03:43Sometimes the truth may not be seen right away.
03:47But we know that in the end, the truth will always come out.
03:51Even if it is not in this life, it will definitely come out in the hereafter.
03:57Because Allah is Al-Hakam, the giver of justice.
04:03May Allah keep us safe from lying, forgive us for our mistakes and help us to always be fair and just.
04:12Ameen.
