00:15Surah In Shik'aq Break Into Pieces
00:19Surah In Shik'aq was revealed in Mecca when Islam was still new.
00:24During this time the Muslims were not facing a lot of trouble, but the people who didn't believe in Islam were starting to be mean to them.
00:33They made fun of Muslims and didn't believe in the Holy Quran or the Day of Judgment.
00:39They did not believe that they would have to stand in front of Allah to answer for what they did in this life.
00:48To warn them, Allah sent Surah In Shik'aq which was revealed right after Surah Al-Infittar.
00:56This Surah starts by describing the big signs of the Day of Judgment.
01:01The sky will split apart because it will obey Allah's command.
01:07The sky is very strong, but nothing can stop it from Allah's order.
01:16The earth will be stretched out flat so that everyone who has ever lived can stand on it.
01:23Imagine all the oceans, mountains, forests and deserts being flattened to make space for every person who has ever been born.
01:35From the beginning of time to the very end, everyone will be brought back to life and will stand in front of Allah to be judged.
01:48On that day, the earth will push out everything hidden inside it like treasures, minerals or the bodies of people who have died.
02:00It will also show all the evidence of what people did during their lives.
02:07The earth will be completely empty and nothing will stay hidden because of Allah's command.
02:16Allah reminds us to think carefully and use our time and intelligence to make good choices.
02:26Every person will have to meet their Lord Allah and will be judged for all the good and bad things they did.
02:38Based on that, they will either be rewarded or punished.
02:43In the Quran, the right hand and left hand are often used to show the difference between good and bad.
02:52If someone gets their book of deeds, which is a record of everything they did in this life, in their right hand on the day of judgment,
03:01they will be very happy and feel lucky because their judgments will be easier.
03:08Allah will forgive their mistakes and they will go to their family with good news.
03:17As a reward, they will be in paradise forever.
03:21But those who didn't follow Allah's guidance will get their book of deeds in their left hand from behind their backs.
03:33This will be a very bad sign.
03:37They will feel ashamed and wish they could disappear because they know they will be punished.
03:46They will be thrown into the burning fire because during their lives they enjoyed themselves without thinking about doing good deeds or following Allah's command.
04:00They forgot that they would have to return to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and that Allah sees everything we do.
04:11Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala swears by the beautiful red glow we see in the sky during sunset which stays until it is completely dark.
04:24When night falls, everything goes to its resting place.
04:29Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also swears by the full moon.
04:34Just like the day and night changes and goes through different stages, our lives go through many stages too.
04:42Our life starts as tiny cells in our mom's belly and grows into babies, then children, teenagers, adults and then elderly people until we finally die.
04:55Some people wrongly think that death is the end of everything.
05:00But in the Quran, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that after we die, we wait in our graves until the day of judgment.
05:11On that day everyone will be judged based on what they did in their lives.
05:17However, some people still don't believe in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and His messages.
05:24We forget that we were created to prepare ourselves for the next life.
05:30This world is like a farm where we plant good or bad actions that will determine what we get in the next life.
05:38Luckily, there is still time to make things right and get closer to our Creator Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
05:48When we hear anything from the Quran, we must believe in it and show respect.
05:54And when we hear certain verses from the Quran, we are supposed to bow down or make sajood to show respect to the Quran and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
06:05Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows in our hearts even if we try to hide it.
06:11Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows all of our hidden feelings, secrets and wrongdoings.
06:19If we do bad things, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala warns us of a very painful punishment.
06:25But if we try to be good by following the Quran, we receive good news from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
06:33We will be rewarded with the happiness in paradise that never ends.
06:40Facts about Surah Inshiqaq.
06:43Number 1. Surah Inshiqaq has 25 short sentences.
06:48Number 2. The name of the surah comes from the first sentence.
06:53Number 3. Inshiqaq means break into pieces or splitting open.
06:58Number 4. If you want to picture the day of judgment, you should recite Surah Inshiqaq, Surah Haqqa and Surah Taqweer.
07:08Number 5. When this surah was revealed, Prophet Muhammad made sujood.
07:15Number 6. Life goes by very fast and we move through different stages.
07:21Number 7. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is always watching us at all times.
07:27Number 8. We should pray and remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala often.
07:33Number 9. We should work hard to be good Muslims so that we can get our book of deeds in our right hand on the day of judgment.
07:43So, with all of this Quranic information, may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala help us understand the lessons of this surah and apply the lessons into our life. Ameen.
