00:01PAS has hit out at Singaporean Minister Keishan Mugum for allegedly trying to portray the
00:05party as a bogeyman, denying that it was attempting to interfere in Singapore's politics.
00:11In a statement, PAS Secretary-General Takiyuddin Hassan called the allegations a political
00:16shortcut meant to distract from internal issues in Singapore.
00:20He said PAS rejected efforts to use the party as a scapegoat for domestic political agendas
00:25and warned against turning cross-border commentary into a security threat for partisan gain.
00:31Shan Mugum, Singapore's Coordinating Minister for National Security, had earlier urged politicians
00:36to avoid using race and religion in election campaigns, referring to reactions of the Opposition
00:41Workers' Party to PAS figures.
00:44His remarks followed incidents where Selangor PAS Youth Chief Sukri Omar and PAS National
00:49Treasurer Iskandar Abdo Samad shared or supported posts related to Singapore's politics, which
00:55authorities there said could affect racial and religious harmony.
00:59Singapore's Home Ministry and Elections Department had accused the PAS leaders of trying to influence
01:04the Republic's general election.
01:06Takiyuddin dismissed such claims as disingenuous, saying they wrongly suggested Singaporean voters
01:11could not think critically.
