00:02High pressure sticks with us this weekend, but does that mean it's going to be sunny?
00:06Well, through the course of this morning there's likely to be a fair amount of low cloud, possibly
00:11even some mist and fog in places, particularly across eastern areas where we saw a fair few
00:15clear skies through the overnight period.
00:17Otherwise, it should brighten up nicely through the course of the morning, perhaps some cloud
00:20lingering across some southern counties still into the afternoon, but even here we'll see
00:25some breaks, allowing some brighter spells to develop.
00:27Now, a slightly different story across parts of Scotland, particularly the far north west
00:32and the far north of Scotland, plenty of cloud here and some quite persistent spells of light
00:37rain and drizzle which are likely to linger through much of the day.
00:41Elsewhere though, dry, settled, plenty of sunshine, feeling warm in the sunshine too, highs reaching
00:47around 18 degrees Celsius.
00:49Even eastern areas of Scotland could catch some sunnier breaks, feeling warm here too.
00:54Now where we see the sunshine through the day, that's where we'll see the clear skies
00:57linger through the course of the night. Mostly light winds too, so some mist and fog patches
01:02redeveloping overnight through into Sunday morning. Possibly some more fog during Sunday
01:07morning compared to this morning, so keep an eye out for any short notice warnings. It's
01:12also going to be feeling chilly once again and there will still be some drizzle, mostly
01:16across the northern isles. Otherwise, it will be dry. Towns and cities in the mid to high
01:21single figures, but in any rural spots, a good chance we could just dip below freezing, so
01:26some possible rural frost.
01:29Any fog will lift and break once again through the morning. It will start to warm up through
01:34the course of the day and on Sunday we'll see a return of that autumnal sunshine. And it's
01:39going to be a much better day across northwestern and far north of Scotland. Less drizzle, more in the way of sunny spells. So feeling a bit more pleasant here on Sunday.
01:48Fairly similar temperatures, highs reaching around 18 degrees Celsius.
01:54Now the high pressure is set to continue even as we head into next week. It will slowly shift
01:59its way eastward, so we'll begin to see a slight change in our wind direction as the week goes
02:04on. So some days will be cloudier than others, but for most it should remain dry. That high
02:08pressure keeps any low pressure systems out towards the Atlantic. But of course, for more
