00:00Hello, good afternoon. Storm Burt over the weekend brought with it strong winds and heavy

00:05outbreaks of rain. Now the weather looks set to settle down by the time we reach Tuesday

00:10but for today, as Storm Burt still sits to the north-east of the country, it still continues

00:15to bring some blustery winds and some heavy outbreaks of rain at times, particularly to

00:19the north-west of Scotland. Later today and through into Tuesday it eventually clears

00:23its way off into Scandinavia and that allows high pressure to build across the country.

00:28So a more settled spell of weather, a few more sunny spells moving through but all eyes

00:33to the south as we head into Wednesday as we're likely to see some outbreaks of rain.

00:38Mainly to the far south of the country but there is a very small chance this could be

00:41slightly further north, bringing in some more rain across the Midlands. Before we get onto

00:46that though, let's talk about this afternoon. So still plenty of showers feeding in across

00:51parts of the country, particularly north-west Scotland where they'll merge into longer spells

00:54of rain but we do have a yellow Met Office rain warning issues and still plenty of blustery

00:59winds here too. Still a few showers feeding into the western coast of England and Wales,

01:04Northern Ireland too, a few just feeding in inland at times. The driest and brightest

01:08of the weather across the far south and south-east. Temperatures more towards average for the

01:13time of year after a mild weekend, still chilly across Scotland, particularly in those brisk

01:19northerly winds. Now as we head into this evening we are set to see those showers

01:24continue, still those longer spells of rain for the first part of the night across parts

01:28of Scotland. Still blustery winds to start off the night but generally easing away by

01:32the time we reach dawn. And with plenty of clear skies across the Midlands, parts of

01:36the south and south-east, there is a chance we could see some fog overnight. A fairly

01:41chilly night on offer too, so perhaps even some spots of frost by the time we reach the

01:45morning under those clearer skies. Now as we head into tomorrow it is generally going

01:50to be a much brighter day on offer. Plenty of sunny spells across the country. Still

01:55can't rule out a few showers though, particularly around western coasts, north-west England,

02:00parts of Northern Ireland, coasts around Scotland too. We may see a few showers across the south

02:06coast which may turn a little bit heavier tomorrow afternoon too. But otherwise there

02:11is still plenty of sunshine around and generally much lighter winds even though temperatures

02:16are fairly similar to what we'll see this afternoon. It should still feel more pleasant

02:20in that sunshine, those lighter winds, but still those stronger winds continuing in the

02:23far north-east of Scotland, so feeling a little bit chillier here. Now Tuesday night into

02:29Wednesday, that high pressure building, so we're likely to see plenty of clear skies

02:33overnight and with colder air still mainly crossing the north, we could see quite a sharp

02:38frost by the time we reach Wednesday morning. And with clear skies, much lighter winds,

02:42that always leads us into the risk of seeing some fog as well. So a cold start on Wednesday,

02:47particularly in the north with a chance of some frost and some early mist and fog patches

02:51likely as well, perhaps even seeing some freezing fog patches in the north by the time we reach

02:56Wednesday. And then of course we're likely to see that wet and windy weather start to

03:00move its way through into the south as well. Do keep an eye on our forecast just in case

03:05that area of rain does just shift slightly further north, but otherwise that's it from
