02:30Quando nós tínhamos a chamada,
04:55You have evidence of extreme violence.
04:59Someone is hacking up a human body, forcefully removing the toes,
05:05cleaving a foot off at the ankle joint, cleaving a handoff at the wrist joint.
05:12For what purpose? To make a threat?
05:16Well, it's working.
05:18That's an awful threat.
05:20Gosh, I remember my prayer was, I hoped the victim had died at this point.
05:30I hoped that they didn't feel pain.
05:33Whoever lost their hand and their foot could not have survived that.
05:38You'd bleed out in less than two minutes.
05:41This is a homicide.
05:43The question becomes, of whom and where is the rest of them?
05:50Let's have a look at that note.
05:58The note itself was bizarre.
06:00It was addressed to an individual by the name of Grace Davis, basically threatening Grace.
06:07We learned that Ms. Bostick is Grace Davis' aunt.
06:12The implied content of the note is,
06:14let's do what we demand or this will happen to you.
06:19In addition to that information,
06:21there is an email to respond to at the bottom of the page.
06:27For us as investigators,
06:29you know, thank you.
06:31Because we can track that email address
06:33and at least start somewhere.
06:36Let's see if you can pull any prints off of this.
06:38and let's get a read on that email.
06:42I'll let you know what we can find.
06:48We had no clue what or who we were dealing with.
06:52Detective?
06:53Yeah.
06:54He's got a problem.
06:56He's informed by radio that a second bag has been found
07:00at another house a mile away
07:02that also contains additional body parts.
07:06Holy smokes.
07:08I never dreamed that we would get a call about other body parts.
07:12So now we went from one scene to two scenes.
07:16My fear was that more bags would show up
07:20and that as they did,
07:22the case would just become more inhumane over time.
07:27We needed to get those body parts
07:31to the morgue
07:32because that was going to be key
07:34in trying to establish the identity of that person.
07:39The woman who lives in the second home
07:42is Judon Burnside.
07:44We learned that Judon Burnside
07:47is Grace Davis' mother.
07:50So we have Judon Burnside.
07:52We have Sue Bostic.
07:53Now, Flavel has to set about finding answers.
07:58So Sue and Judon are interviewed together.
08:02Grace Davis is one woman's daughter
08:05and the other woman's niece.
08:07Does she live with either one of you?
08:09She used to, but things have changed
08:12and now we just take care of the kids.
08:15She's got into drugs
08:17and her children were taken away from her
08:20and she has drifted off into the streets.
08:23and they don't know where she is.
08:27They have no idea who would threaten her or why.
08:30They both assume it is some sort of drug debt
08:33or some sort of difficulty she has fallen into
08:37by living on the streets.
08:39But they don't know.
08:41They haven't seen her
08:42or talked to her for some time.
08:45They are independently raising her children
08:48in the hope that Grace will somehow straighten out her life
08:51and return to recover her children.
08:54That has not yet happened.
08:56So Flavel, once again,
08:58is faced with another mystery.
09:00Not only who Grace Davis is,
09:02but we don't know where she is.
09:05And we don't know
09:06how she could have acquired
09:07an enemy
09:08that is not only depraved,
09:11but is particularly evil.
09:12who might that be?
09:17Flavel doesn't know.
09:19Whoever is responsible for this
09:21doesn't know where Grace is either
09:24or he wouldn't be leaving these threats
09:27with relatives.
09:28He'd be going directly to Grace Davis.
09:30Has anything happened in the last few days
09:32out of the ordinary?
09:34Well, there was this phone call.
09:37Ms. Bostic told us she answered the phone
09:39and stated it sounds like somebody's going to die.
09:43Hello?
09:44Help me! Help me, please!
09:47Hello?
09:50She got a phone call from a female voice
09:53who was screaming into the phone
09:55and then the line went dead.
09:58She wonders if that's connected.
10:00Flavel wonders the same thing.
10:02Do either one of you know anybody
10:04that would want to do Grace harm?
10:06There is her ex.
10:09Grace's ex-husband
10:11has been ordered to pay $400 a month
10:14in child support
10:15and he was very unhappy about this.
10:19Money, sex, or revenge
10:21are common things in a murder case.
10:23And here we have money and revenge
10:26together.
10:28So, of course,
10:29that kind of turns our attention.
10:31We needed to talk to Grace's ex-husband.
10:34The ex-husband appears shocked
10:45and has no knowledge of any of this.
10:48Mr. Davis, I need to know
10:49where you were on the morning of the 7th.
10:52I was with my girlfriend.
10:55He pretty much had an alibi
10:56for the time frame
10:58that we were looking at.
10:59He was in a new relationship
11:01and his new girlfriend
11:03actually had taken him to work.
11:04We verified his work record.
11:06So we were able to clear him
11:08as a suspect.
11:13It's just not the guy.
11:15It just isn't.
11:17It's a shame
11:17it would make this case a lot simpler,
11:19but it's not simple.
11:21Murders never are.
11:22This is flavor.
11:31Okay.
11:32Got it.
11:33I'll be right there.
11:35It is very unusual
11:36to ask a coroner
11:38to examine body parts
11:39and not a body.
11:41It's happened in my career,
11:43but it's very rare.
11:46Our medical examiner
11:47called us to review
11:49all the tissue samples.
11:50The body parts,
11:54they were not per se
11:55surgically removed,
11:56but they weren't hacked
11:58and whacked.
12:00Whatever was used
12:01was very sharp.
12:03It made a clean cut
12:05right at the joint.
12:08But we did get a hit
12:09on the prints.
12:12They do determine
12:13the identity
12:14of the parts
12:15by fingerprint.
12:16It's a female
12:19and her name
12:20was McCole Harris.
12:24She's 34 years old.
12:26I've never heard
12:27of McCole Harris.
12:29So now we've got
12:30to figure out
12:31why you?
12:32Why are your hands
12:32and feet in this bag?
12:35Now the question's become,
12:37where was she last seen alive?
12:39What is her connection,
12:41if any,
12:41to Grace Davis?
12:42We have someone
12:45who is such an enemy
12:46of Miss Davis,
12:47he's willing to kill
12:48just to make a point.
12:50That's a serious enemy.
12:51Murder's Monday
12:58on ID.
13:06So we know
13:07that now
13:08this person's name
13:09is McCole Harris.
13:11Now Flavel
13:12has to set about
13:13finding where
13:14McCole Harris
13:15was last seen alive.
13:17And he has to make
13:18a death notification
13:18of the family.
13:19for you
13:21to give them
13:22that news
13:23is devastating.
13:25In a split second,
13:26their life
13:28is turned
13:28upside down.
13:35He finds her mother
13:36and has to explain
13:38that he doesn't have
13:39her daughter's body.
13:41He only has
13:42parts of it.
13:45So we learned
13:46that McCole Harris
13:47was a 34-year-old mother,
13:48who grew up
13:49in a normal family,
13:51a couple of towns
13:52away from Greenville.
13:54McCole was my baby sister,
13:56I kind of like
13:57raised her
13:58as my own.
13:59That was my heart.
14:01It was seven of us,
14:03and Mika was the baby.
14:04We nicknamed her Mickey.
14:06Her personality
14:06was sweet and loving.
14:09She was lovely
14:10as a mother.
14:11She had the heart of gold.
14:14Where had she been living?
14:15That's the thing.
14:18She was not making
14:19the best decisions.
14:22McCole Harris
14:23was somebody
14:24who had fallen
14:25on hard times
14:26because she had
14:27a drug habit.
14:29She would often
14:30find herself
14:31living on the streets
14:32or with random people.
14:34Due to
14:35McCole's
14:36substance abuse problem,
14:38she didn't have
14:38custody of her kids.
14:39We used to,
14:42you know,
14:42see each other
14:43on a regular basis,
14:44even though
14:46we were mostly
14:47with our grandmother.
14:49Mrs. Harris
14:50says her daughter
14:51has fallen
14:52on hard times.
14:54But still,
14:54McCole Harris
14:55was trying
14:56to change her ways,
14:58trying to move back
14:59into a normal life,
15:00to get off the streets
15:02and away from the drugs
15:03and back
15:04to where she began
15:05as a mother.
15:06She was working
15:08towards getting
15:09her life together
15:10and coming home.
15:12I said,
15:12are you sure?
15:14And she said,
15:15yes ma'am, I am.
15:17I said,
15:17I know the kids
15:18will be happy.
15:19Knowing that she
15:20was never able
15:21to rekindle
15:22that stable relationship
15:24with her children,
15:25I'm sure has continued
15:26to haunt the whole family.
15:28That's why it hurts
15:29me so bad
15:30because she was
15:32talking about
15:32coming home
15:33and being,
15:34you know,
15:35the person
15:35that I wanted her to be.
15:36And someone
15:38has decided
15:39to take her life.
15:41It's incredibly foul.
15:44Was McCole
15:44employed anywhere?
15:47McCole hung out
15:48at a Labor Finders,
15:49which is a day labor
15:51where jobs go out,
15:53they go out
15:53for the day.
15:58So Flable
16:00goes to Labor Finders
16:01to see who knows
16:02McCole Harris.
16:03some recognize the name,
16:07some seem to recall her,
16:09but no one seems
16:10to know her very well.
16:13So Flable
16:14doesn't really learn
16:15very much.
16:17Sometimes you pick
16:18the wrong rabbit hole.
16:20You know,
16:20so you go back
16:21and start on another one.
16:22Then we started
16:23looking for Grace.
16:25This is Flable.
16:26The Davis family reports
16:28that they now know
16:29where Grace probably
16:30is staying.
16:34We learned
16:34that she was living
16:35with a cousin
16:36out in the county.
16:39Flable is thrilled,
16:40but at least
16:41he's going to be able
16:42to finally speak
16:42to Grace Davis
16:44to find out
16:45perhaps
16:46what is going on
16:47in this mess.
16:49Ma'am,
16:49I need to talk to you
16:50about a couple
16:50of incidents
16:51that happened
16:51at your mom
16:52and aunt's home.
16:54What?
16:54She had no clue
16:55that there was
16:57body parts left
16:58at these locations
16:59at her family's houses.
17:01Can we go inside
17:02and talk
17:03for a few minutes?
17:05Flable
17:06wants to know
17:07how Grace Davis
17:09becomes somehow
17:11the focus
17:12of this murder kiss.
17:14Body parts?
17:17And the letters
17:18were addressed to me?
17:19That's correct.
17:21There was a direct threat
17:22made against her.
17:24That's going to scare
17:26anyone half to death.
17:28Are you familiar
17:29with anybody
17:30named Nicole Harris?
17:33That was a big mystery.
17:36Grace is related
17:36to the people
17:37who found the body parts,
17:38but she had zero connection
17:40to Nicole Harris.
17:42At this moment,
17:44Detective Flable
17:44has way more questions
17:46than he has answers.
17:47She really didn't know
17:49anything about
17:49what the letter stated.
17:52Our priority at the time
17:53was who's threatening
17:54Grace and her family
17:56and then who
17:57has murdered someone
17:58to carry out their threat.
18:00She denies
18:02any knowledge of enemies,
18:03denies any knowledge
18:04of Nicole Harris.
18:05She does seem
18:06to be generally shocked
18:07that this has happened.
18:10We got to look at this
18:11a different way, man.
18:12This is,
18:12we're thinking way too big.
18:15So we've got to back up
18:16and we did.
18:22We let our work
18:23lead us
18:24in the right direction.
18:26I need to know
18:27where the other part of it is
18:29and what went on
18:30and why
18:31so I can come
18:33to a closure
18:34and put her to rest.
18:36Why did they take
18:37my daughter's life like that?
18:39If you know
18:40where the other part
18:40of her body is,
18:41would you please
18:42just show the police?
18:45The media
18:46helped us
18:47in a way.
18:48They got the news
18:49out there.
18:50The entire city
18:51of Greenville
18:52is placed on the edge
18:53because we have
18:54a dismembered body,
18:56a killer on the loose.
18:58It is a topic
18:59of conversation
19:00in Greenville,
19:01South Carolina.
19:03It wasn't long
19:04after our uniformed
19:05dispatch received
19:05a call
19:06from the Nickel Town area.
19:07You have a call
19:08on line one.
19:09Thank you.
19:11It's legal.
19:11A resident there
19:14had called in
19:15a foul odor
19:17in the neighborhood
19:18and said,
19:18hey,
19:19y'all might want
19:19to come out here.
19:26When they get
19:27out of the car,
19:28they're overcome
19:29by the smell of death.
19:32When you're a policeman,
19:33you never,
19:34ever forget
19:35the smell of death.
19:39Behind the house,
19:40we find a big
19:41like storage container.
19:44That's where the smell
19:45is coming from.
19:46The odor was unbearable.
19:48Disgusting,
19:49to say the least.
19:51They removed the lid
19:53and up to the top
19:55of the lid,
19:56it is a blood
19:57and flesh soup.
20:01Maybe they have
20:02just found
20:03McCole Harrison.
20:05It was disgusting.
20:23We're trying
20:23to come up
20:24with a game plan
20:24on how we're going
20:26to attack this container
20:27because it's probably,
20:29you know,
20:2980% liquid
20:30at this time.
20:32Let's get this area
20:33roped off
20:33and get a report
20:35on the house.
20:36Can I help you
20:40with something?
20:42As they are
20:42examining this
20:43pile of goop
20:44and this drum,
20:46the homeowner
20:47arrives,
20:47a woman,
20:48and says,
20:49what are you doing?
20:50Is that your container?
20:52Well,
20:52it's behind my house,
20:53ain't it?
20:54He looks at her
20:55and says in his own head,
20:57did you kill
20:57McCole Harris
20:58or did someone
21:00in your house
21:01do it?
21:01All right,
21:03ma'am,
21:03I need you
21:04to step back.
21:05This is an active
21:06crime scene.
21:07So,
21:08y'all are investigating
21:09the death
21:10of a pig?
21:13Like,
21:13what?
21:15She said,
21:15we had a pig picking
21:16and we cleaned
21:17the pig
21:17and I just put it
21:19in that container.
21:21She has an explanation
21:23for this
21:23barrel and contents.
21:25It might be true.
21:27It also might not be.
21:29We immediately
21:30stopped
21:30what we were doing.
21:31and we called
21:31for our forensics division.
21:36They can conduct
21:37an immediate test
21:38in the blood
21:39and tell you
21:39human or animal
21:40on the spot.
21:42Yeah,
21:43this is definitely
21:44a pig.
21:48All right,
21:49let's pack it up.
21:51Dead ends
21:52are common
21:53in homicide investigations.
21:55Something that looks
21:55so promising
21:56and it falls apart.
21:58It goes through
21:59your fingers
22:00like sand.
22:01it's really
22:02disappointing
22:03but you never
22:05quit.
22:06You've still
22:07got a family
22:08that needs
22:10answers.
22:15We need a new step.
22:17There was that email
22:18that was left
22:19on the threatening note.
22:21Flabel submitted
22:21when he found it
22:22and now computer
22:24forensics has a result.
22:26I don't know.
22:27Call you back.
22:29Thank you.
22:29I hear you got
22:30something for me.
22:31Yeah,
22:31there might be something.
22:34Yeah?
22:35Yeah.
22:36They inform him
22:37a public use
22:39computer
22:39in a library
22:41was used
22:41to send
22:42the email.
22:42There is a gun.
23:10because public libraries
23:12have surveillance cameras.
23:14Okay,
23:15here is the tape
23:16you were asking about.
23:18Not only did it
23:19give us the address
23:19but it gave us
23:20the date and time
23:21that this email address
23:22was checked.
23:23He goes
23:24and he sees footage
23:25and he sees
23:26an African-American
23:27couple,
23:28man and woman,
23:30using the computer.
23:32The man
23:32is not anyone
23:33that Flabel
23:34has ever seen
23:35and the woman
23:36that's with him
23:37is not
23:38Grace Davis.
23:40What struck me
23:41is he was wearing gloves.
23:43He's inside the library
23:44but he's got on
23:44these big thick gloves.
23:47He doesn't want
23:48to leave fingerprints
23:49on the keys
23:50as if that matters.
23:52He's using a computer
23:53that has its own fingerprint.
23:56So he's typing
23:57this email.
23:57On April the 6th,
23:59the day before
24:01the body parts
24:01are found.
24:02Now we're getting
24:03somewhere.
24:04So who are
24:06these people?
24:07Getting actual video
24:09of the suspects
24:10in the library
24:12at that date and time
24:13gave us a lot of
24:14a lot of momentum
24:15in our case.
24:17So now it's time
24:18to bring Grace Davis
24:20in for another interview
24:21and confront her
24:23with this video.
24:34I need you to start
24:43being honest with me.
24:46Flabel explains
24:47that this is not
24:48going to go away.
24:49I am not going
24:51to go away
24:51and we're going to get
24:53to the bottom of this.
24:56And I said,
24:57hey, do you recognize
24:57these people?
24:59Tell me what's going on.
25:01Okay.
25:03Look,
25:04I know him
25:05and his wife,
25:06but I don't talk
25:07to them anymore.
25:08Who is he?
25:11And she cracks.
25:12She says,
25:13the people on this tape
25:15are Carmen
25:16and Clarence Jenkins.
25:17We used to live together
25:21and we used to date.
25:25All three of you?
25:28I got together with him
25:29and we all fell in love.
25:32I had a sexual relationship
25:33with Clarence Jenkins.
25:34I also had a sexual relationship
25:36with Carmen Jenkins.
25:38Okay.
25:40You started talking
25:41about a triangle situation
25:43where everybody's in love
25:44with everybody else.
25:45Things can get
25:47enormously complicated.
25:49It was good for a while
25:50until Clarence
25:52started being all controlling.
25:54She said he's real controlling
25:56and they can't leave the house.
25:59She says,
26:00then I found out
26:01that Clarence was abusive.
26:03So Clarence's verbal abuse
26:05and weirdness
26:07caused Miss Davis
26:09to come to her senses
26:10to some degree
26:11and to leave these people.
26:13I just knew
26:13I had to get out of there.
26:15So she makes a decision
26:17to leave
26:18and she leaves,
26:21literally walks away.
26:24She left on the 16th of March.
26:26April the 6th,
26:27just a few weeks later,
26:28body parts and threats show up.
26:30That's remarkable.
26:31So now,
26:37who's Carmen Clarence?
26:38How are you involved in this?
26:41So we made an attempt
26:42to talk to Carmen
26:44and Clarence Jenkins
26:44to find out
26:45what was actually going on.
26:52Carmen Jenkins?
26:54Yes?
26:55Ma'am,
26:55we need to speak with you
26:56about a case we're investigating.
26:58Is your husband home right now?
27:00Um,
27:01this really isn't a good time.
27:04She immediately says
27:05that they're busy right now,
27:07but they will come down
27:08to the police station
27:09later in the day
27:10to discuss it with them,
27:12her and Clarence.
27:14So we left,
27:16but we had a team
27:18of investigators out there
27:19and we did surveillance.
27:22minutes after Flavel leaves,
27:28their surveillance team reports
27:29that Carmen and Clarence
27:31are carrying black trash bags
27:34from their trailer
27:35to a dumpster.
27:37Detective Garrison
27:38was watching through binoculars
27:39and the trash bags
27:42got blue pull strings.
27:46The very same type
27:47that we found
27:48were the mutilated body parts.
27:50Flabel and his partner
27:56returned to the dumpster
27:57near the property
27:58and look in the bags
28:00that they threw away.
28:04There were two
28:06or three empty bleach bottles,
28:09ammonia bottles,
28:11carpet cleaning solutions.
28:15Of course,
28:15indicative of somebody
28:16cleaning something up.
28:17whatever happened
28:19to McCole Harris
28:20probably happened
28:22to her
28:22in that trailer.
28:28Detective Flabel's experience
28:30tells him
28:31that that crime scene
28:32is that trailer.
28:34He needs a warrant.
28:36He can't get it
28:38based on cleaning supplies.
28:40Throwing those away
28:42isn't against the law.
28:43He needs another way.
28:44Flabel.
28:46Flabel finds
28:47that they had
28:48just entered
28:49a traffic warrant
28:50for Clarence's arrest
28:52on his record.
28:53That really
28:54was a lucky break
28:55for us
28:56and it was fresh
28:57off the press.
28:59There
29:00is Flabel's way in.
29:02They return
29:09with their search warrant
29:10in hand.
29:11Police, open up.
29:12They knock on the door
29:13and Carmen answers it.
29:17Ma'am,
29:18I have a warrant
29:19for Clarence Jenkins.
29:20Well, he ain't here
29:21right now.
29:22And Flabel looks at her
29:23and says,
29:24we're going to search
29:25the premise
29:25and if I find him
29:27in here,
29:27I'm going to charge you
29:28with harboring a fugitive.
29:30and she steps aside.
29:34They go in.
29:38The house is disgusting.
29:40It is nasty.
29:42There's pots on the counter
29:43with fungus growing in them.
29:45Obviously,
29:46there was no bleach used
29:47and there was no
29:48carpet cleaner used
29:49to clean anything
29:50in the house.
29:51in the bathroom
29:53and the shower
29:55is like spray-painted red.
29:59As I'm clear
30:00in the bathroom,
30:01you can see
30:02what I suspect
30:04to be blood spatter
30:05on the wall.
30:09Aiken goes to the left.
30:11He says,
30:11man,
30:11there's a hole.
30:13Detective,
30:14I got something
30:14back here.
30:16He notices
30:17a piece of drywall
30:18that's out of alignment
30:19with part of the wall.
30:20He shines a light
30:22in that crack
30:22and who does he see?
30:27Come out
30:28on your hands and knees.
30:29Keep your hands
30:30where I can see them.
30:32And there's Clarence Jenkins
30:33hiding behind
30:34this piece of paneling.
30:37Come out of there,
30:38Clarence.
30:38You're under arrest.
30:41All right,
30:42I'll take him in.
30:43She's going to be charged
30:44with harboring a fugitive.
30:45Copy that.
30:47Let's go.
30:47Now that Detective Flavell
30:52has seen
30:53apparent evidence
30:54of a murder,
30:56he's granted
30:56a second warrant
30:57to search for evidence
31:00of death
31:00in this trailer.
31:03Once we did
31:03that search warrant,
31:04forensics came out,
31:06we told them
31:06what we observed,
31:07then they go in
31:08and start processing.
31:09We were looking
31:11specifically
31:12for items
31:14that would connect
31:15the victim
31:16to the trailer
31:17and any potential
31:21evidence
31:22of foul play.
31:25Get those light
31:26for me, will you?
31:31That's positive
31:32for blood.
31:32When you look
31:35into the bathroom,
31:36you could see
31:37the wallpaper
31:38was gone.
31:40Inside of the shower
31:41stall was painted,
31:42the floor was painted.
31:45They're trying
31:45to cover up blood.
31:47They missed
31:47a number of places
31:49which you can see
31:50blood spatter
31:51on the walls,
31:52blood spatter
31:52on the sink area,
31:54staining everywhere.
31:55I go to the
32:00back bedroom.
32:02Found these
32:02and that.
32:05There were
32:06knives,
32:07swords,
32:09handcuffs
32:10in the back bedroom.
32:12We knew
32:13we had something
32:14with the knives.
32:24We found
32:25something here.
32:27I found
32:28a clipboard
32:29and in that clipboard
32:30were typed
32:31letters
32:32addressed
32:34to the same
32:35individuals
32:36where the body
32:37parts were sent.
32:39This is a
32:40filthy trailer
32:41filled with
32:42all sorts
32:42of horrible evidence.
32:44So this is
32:45all adding up
32:46to the scene
32:47of the death
32:48of McCole Harris.
32:50But why
32:51did McCole Harris
32:52die?
32:54Why was she
32:55murdered
32:55and dismembered
32:56for heaven's sake?
32:58And how does
32:58it connect
32:59to Ms. Davis
33:00and the Jenkins?
33:03That's what
33:03they don't know.
33:04So Clarence
33:11was eventually
33:12transported down
33:13to the law
33:14enforcement center
33:14where I went
33:16and interviewed him.
33:17Look, Clarence,
33:18we know you're involved.
33:20We found the letters,
33:22we found blood,
33:23we even found
33:24the trash bags.
33:25It wasn't me.
33:26We had evidence
33:29that she died there,
33:30but it still
33:31really didn't answer
33:32all the questions
33:33that needed
33:34to be answered.
33:35It is a bizarre
33:37circumstance
33:38in every possible way.
33:41A three-person
33:42love triangle,
33:43a dismemberment
33:45homicide,
33:46a filthy trailer
33:47filled with
33:48overwhelming evidence.
33:49You take the time
33:51to spray paint
33:52a bathroom,
33:53you don't throw away
33:54the drafts
33:56of the threatening
33:57note.
33:58Absolutely ridiculous.
33:59It's like children
34:00trying to do this.
34:01Not the sharpest
34:02knives in the drawer,
34:04but killers
34:05tend not to be.
34:06I want a lawyer.
34:09We still didn't
34:10have McCole.
34:11We had McCole's
34:12hands and feet,
34:13but we still
34:14hadn't found the body.
34:15So, you know,
34:16we really didn't
34:17have any information
34:18to give the family.
34:24I have faith in God,
34:26and I know that
34:26it was going to
34:28get solved,
34:29but, I mean,
34:29it was just devastating.
34:31We had a kind of
34:32like vigil,
34:34but the thing was
34:36we still was,
34:38you know,
34:39still going through.
34:40The time for me,
34:43it was real hard.
34:48So, Flabel is
34:51organizing the case
34:52as best he can
34:53so they can
34:54proceed the trial.
34:56During this process,
34:57a year goes by,
34:59and Carmen decides
35:00she wants to talk.
35:03She says,
35:04I want to tell you
35:05what happened.
35:06The prosecutor
35:07called and
35:08wanted us
35:09to come up
35:09for a meeting
35:10with Carmen
35:11and her attorneys.
35:14Flabel is elated.
35:17We're at the
35:17solicitor's office
35:18with her attorneys,
35:19the prosecutors,
35:20and finally,
35:21she's giving us
35:22her confession.
35:25And the conversation
35:26begins.
35:28So the question
35:29Flabel has
35:30is simple.
35:31What happened
35:32inside that trailer,
35:33Carmen?
35:34What happened
35:35to Nicole Harris?
35:36Horrors.
35:45A monster
35:46came into our town
35:47and took two
35:48little girls.
35:49I love you.
35:50It's never gonna end
35:50until we find out
35:51who did this.
35:53Uncover the truth,
35:54ID's most powerful
35:55documentaries,
35:56starts Sunday
35:57the 7th of September.
35:58Carmen sits down
36:09with Detective Flabel.
36:10Flabel says,
36:11I want you to tell me
36:12the entire story.
36:13How did all this
36:14unfold?
36:16That interview
36:17is probably
36:18one of the
36:19coldest interviews
36:20I've ever done.
36:22She was
36:23just as cold
36:25as she could be.
36:26She says
36:28that Clarence Jenkins
36:29had met
36:30Grace Davis
36:31on the street
36:32and brought her
36:33home with him.
36:36When Grace
36:37left her ex-husband,
36:39she ended up
36:39in a women's shelter
36:40for a little while.
36:42So Clarence
36:42offered for Grace
36:44to move in
36:45with him and his wife.
36:47Davis moved
36:48into their trailer
36:49and became
36:50sexually involved
36:51with both of them.
36:54They were all
36:55happily
36:56together.
36:57So happily,
36:59they had considered
36:59trying to get married
37:00as a threesome
37:01to somehow
37:02make this official.
37:06So what went wrong?
37:09Things got heated
37:10between
37:10Clarence and Grace.
37:13I guess the dynamic
37:15of it was such
37:15that he was definitely
37:16the one in control
37:18and his personality
37:20wasn't anything
37:21she planned to deal
37:22with on a long-term basis.
37:24Clarence was verbally
37:26abusive and it upset
37:28Grace Davis
37:29and she decided
37:30to leave them.
37:31So when Grace left
37:33to make a better life
37:34for herself,
37:35they're like,
37:35you know,
37:35it's the three of us
37:36or none of us.
37:38Clarence was wild.
37:41No one leaves him.
37:44He's going to get her
37:45back at any cost.
37:47Clarence goes to
37:52labor finders.
37:56He notices
37:57Nicole Harris.
38:03Excuse me, miss.
38:06Yes?
38:06Do I know you?
38:07I need you to come
38:08with me.
38:09He convinces her
38:12he's a policeman.
38:14He puts her in his car
38:15and he drives her
38:16to their trailer.
38:28I thought we were
38:29going to the station.
38:30Give me your hands.
38:33Come on.
38:34Karma says he shows up
38:38with Nicole
38:39and she's in handcuffs
38:42and he takes her
38:44straight to this
38:45back room.
38:47Please!
38:48Let me go!
38:49Stop there!
38:51The first plan
38:52Clarence had
38:53was to use
38:55Nicole Harris
38:55to make threats.
38:58He handcuffs her
38:59to a chair.
39:00He makes her
39:02make that phone call
39:03to sue Bostick.
39:08You tell Grace
39:09she needs to get
39:10her ass back here.
39:12Hello?
39:12Help me!
39:13Help me!
39:13Stop!
39:14Help me!
39:15Help me!
39:15Help me!
39:16Although she didn't
39:17follow the script
39:18and didn't say much
39:19which is why Bostick
39:21only heard screaming
39:22and then the line
39:23went dead.
39:25And then what happened?
39:28The threats
39:28weren't working
39:29so Clarence
39:30came up with
39:31another idea.
39:34And then
39:35Clarence
39:36just comes up
39:37to Carmen
39:37and says
39:37hey you gotta
39:38kill that girl.
39:39Here.
39:40Here.
39:42Get on with it.
39:43You don't have
39:43to do this.
39:44Please help me.
39:45Girl now
39:45get on with it.
39:52It's a monstrous
39:53idea.
39:55Clarence Jenkins
39:56is willing
39:57to use
39:57the death
39:58of a perfect
39:59stranger
39:59as a device
40:01to regain
40:03the love
40:03and admiration
40:04of another female.
40:08How sick
40:09is that?
40:11How sick
40:12can you be?
40:13And Carmen
40:14is a participant
40:15in this crime.
40:17Clarence tells her
40:18to use a piece
40:20of coaxial cable
40:21and strangle her.
40:22And then
40:23strangle her.
40:24Carmen goes
40:24in there
40:25puts the coaxial
40:27around Nicole's neck
40:28and tries
40:29to strangle her.
40:31But I wasn't
40:32strong enough
40:32so Clarence did it.
40:36I can't do it.
40:38I can't do it.
40:39Get out of the way.
40:42So Clarence
40:43takes over
40:44and kills her
40:46by strangling
40:47her to death.
40:59They then
40:59take her
41:00and drag her
41:01into the front
41:01bathroom.
41:05Then he takes
41:06a machete
41:07and cuts off
41:09her feet
41:09and her hands
41:10with powerful blows
41:15with a very long
41:16sharp blade.
41:19They get
41:19like some
41:20garden shears
41:21and he cuts
41:22the toes off.
41:24Then he bags
41:25these parts
41:26in two different bags.
41:27He writes
41:27the threatening letters.
41:31That Clarence Jenkins
41:32would devise
41:32such a plan
41:33is beyond
41:34monstrous.
41:37If I was
41:39so empowered
41:40I would sit
41:41Clarence down
41:42and I would say
41:43Clarence
41:43I'm going to
41:44stuff you
41:45into a food
41:46processor
41:46and press
41:47liquefy
41:48and then I'm
41:49going to pour
41:49you down
41:50a toilet
41:51because that
41:53is where
41:53you belong.
41:55I need to know
41:56where the rest
41:57of McCole's
41:58body is.
42:00Carmen gave
42:01us the location
42:02that they actually
42:03dumped
42:04McCole Harris'
42:05body.
42:06It was out
42:06in a vacant
42:07field
42:07and they
42:08actually poured
42:09gas on it
42:10and tried
42:10to burn it.
42:14Good heavens
42:15for what?
42:17The love
42:18and admiration
42:18of a female?
42:20Apparently so.
42:23She had
42:24no emotion.
42:26I mean
42:26the whole
42:27time
42:27it was like
42:28really eerie.
42:29we called
42:35upstate
42:36search and
42:36rescue
42:36and they
42:37brought
42:37their dogs
42:37out.
42:42We were
42:43unfortunate
42:44that most
42:45of that area
42:46had been
42:47cut
42:47sometime
42:49in that
42:49year and a
42:50half
42:50but all
42:51in all
42:52we did
42:53collect
42:53a number
42:54of bones
42:55and there
42:57were eight
42:58or ten
42:58different items
42:59of evidence
42:59that we
43:00collected.
43:01One of those
43:02items of evidence
43:02being a pair
43:03of garden
43:04loppers.
43:13Clarence was
43:13tried for murder.
43:15He was convicted
43:16when he was given
43:16life without
43:17parole.
43:17Carmen was
43:20originally
43:20sentenced to
43:2150 years
43:22and after
43:24her testimony
43:25that sentence
43:26was reduced
43:27to 40.
43:28You just
43:29killed someone
43:30just to
43:30play as
43:31some silly
43:31game
43:32so
43:34what's
43:35enough?
43:37You always
43:38think a
43:38dangerous
43:39people is
43:39having like
43:40lots of
43:40weapons
43:41but really
43:42the most
43:42dangerous
43:43people that
43:43exist are
43:44those without
43:45empathy
43:45and clearly
43:46Carmen and
43:47Clarence
43:48had no
43:48empathy
43:49for
43:49Nicole
43:50Harris.
43:51I just
43:52wanted the
43:53world to
43:53know
43:53that the
43:55tragedy that
43:55happened
43:56is something
43:59you never
43:59want to go
43:59through.
44:01My mother
44:02would want
44:02this story
44:02to be told.
44:04I got her
44:04ashes and
44:05everything and
44:05I keep them
44:06close to me
44:07but I'm
44:09still dealing
44:09with it.
44:11She was a
44:12wonderful person.
44:13She didn't
44:14deserve to
44:14go like
44:15this.
44:15Detective
44:22Flavel
44:23represents
44:23yet another
44:24American
44:25detective
44:25whose
44:26experience
44:27whose
44:27perseverance
44:28unraveled
44:29this case
44:30and punished
44:31the people
44:32involved.
44:34He used to
44:35be admired
44:35for that
44:36along with
44:37every other
44:37American
44:38detective
44:38who does
44:39the same
44:39thing
44:40every day
44:41and every
44:42night.
44:42and every
44:43time
44:44to
44:44see you
44:45next time.
44:45See you
44:46next time.
