n Saints- "This should be exciting. Their record might say something, but they play better than their record"- DeMario 'Pop' Douglas joins! Thoughts on Rhamondre Stevenson?
00:05How, how, what was the vibe like Sunday night in Buffalo flying home after that victory on national TV?
00:16Uh, it was, it was good. You know, we, we got the dub and it felt good.
00:23Did it, did it feel like it was more than just a win that, that maybe you guys made a statement to the rest of the NFL?
00:30Nah, I feel like, uh, every game is a game that, you know, that means something, you know, uh, just, you know, that, I know that was a division and stuff like that, but every game.
00:41So like just now, I mean, we got the Saints now, but you know, this game is more important is that next game that, that makes it more important.
00:49Pop, I'm glad you said that too, because a lot of conversations about you guys coming off such a high Sunday night football, getting the win on the road over the Bills,
00:57and then going on the road again to take on a Saints team.
01:00That's not having as good of a season as, as a team like the Bills.
01:03How has Mike Vrabel been able to keep you guys in line to keep your head in the game going from such a high to making sure that momentum continues?
01:13Uh, Coach Vrabel's been doing, you know, a good job, you know, uh, telling the guys, you know, just like when it's a loss, you know, throw that, you know,
01:21that, that game's in the trash on to the next, you're doing a great job, you know, with us, uh, moving on to the Saints, you know, uh, next, next day, you know,
01:30we're going to the Saints and, uh, that's how it's supposed to be, you know, win or lose.
01:35Pop, I tell you what, it was a great game.
01:37I'm more excited about who is going to be the oddest that you guys play.
01:41I know it was NBA young boy after the, um, the Buffalo win, which I'm fascinated with, uh, with Steph Diggs' Instagram.
01:47Uh, talk about, you know, Vrabes is telling you guys to stay focused, the meaning of this game,
01:55but just what you have to kind of take from last week against Buffalo into this week against the Saints
02:02when it comes to just the mental side of the game.
02:08Uh, I would say just take the momentum.
02:11Nothing, nothing else, honestly.
02:12We just need to take that momentum and, you know, take it to the Saints, honestly.
02:16Uh, you know, uh, like I say, that, that Buffalo game in the trash, uh, now it's, you know, the Saints,
02:23and, uh, we just need to bring that momentum to this game and keep stacking days.
02:28Pop, Drake May was spectacular in that game Sunday night.
02:31What have you seen from him from year one to year two as you get ready, uh, here in week six?
02:37Uh, I see his confidence growing.
02:40I definitely see his confidence growing.
02:41And, um, uh, you, you can see how, how he, how he's playing and how he's, you know, getting the offense set up, man.
02:48And, uh, I'm loving what he's doing.
02:50And I, I pray, you know, he keeps going and keep going in the right direction.
02:54Uh, we, we all got his back and, uh, we all believe in him.
02:57Pop, the Saints coming off a win as well.
02:59What have you seen while watching film of their defense and what they're good at?
03:02Uh, they, they're pretty good.
03:05You know, um, not just, you know, their record might have said something else, but Saints are pretty good.
03:10Uh, they had, like, a number one team, uh, defense of, you know, with the turnovers and, uh, getting the turnovers.
03:18So, uh, this, this should be exciting.
03:21You know, uh, their record might say something, but they, they play better than, you know, what their record say.
03:27Pop, one of the things that we, that we noticed in the game, you know, Ramondre fumbled the football, but it seems like you guys rally around them.
03:36We obviously, we talked to Vrabel and he talks about the importance of, you know, being able to rely on him.
03:42What, what were some of the things that you, you guys were saying to him, um, after that situation, when a player does make a mistake and they're down to kind of get their spirits back up, let them know that you guys are still counting on him.
03:55Uh, you know, we believe in all our players.
03:57Uh, you know, coach's not going to have somebody out there that he doesn't believe in.
04:01And, uh, we all believe in Ramondre.
04:02We, we know what he can do.
04:04And, uh, you know, stuff like this happens to the best.
04:07So, you know, um, it's just about, uh, having that next play mentality.
04:12Sometimes, you know, going to tell the player something repeatedly, that could, that could make it worse.
04:17So, you know, uh, for me, I, I didn't, I didn't say nothing to Ramondre because I know, I know he has that next play mentality.
04:23Not, not much need to be said.
04:25Like, you know, I know some guys probably went up to him, but, you know, he has that next play mentality.
04:30And when he touched that field, man, I, I know that, that, that fumble made him want to go.
04:35And, uh, I know that, that probably pushed him and it did.
04:39You see how he ended the game two touchdowns and, uh, he helped us get that, that win.
04:44Pop, the, the offense this year is compared to last year with Josh McDaniels leading the offensive play calling.
04:50What has it been like to play for Josh and what has he specifically helped you with as you, as you are a part of this offense?
04:55Wait, did you say that again, please?
04:58What has it been like with Josh McDaniels as your offensive coordinator this season for you personally?
05:04Uh, man, it's been good, man.
05:06Josh has been putting us, you know, in the, uh, in the spots to succeed and, uh, learn and grow.
05:11Uh, he, he's a, uh, great coach and he, he, he done seen a lot, you know, he built a lot of players and, uh, I, I appreciate him.
05:19I appreciate, you know, what he does and, uh, what places that he put us in and it's, it's gonna, it's gonna, it's gonna be good once, you know, we all, it's showing, but once we all, you know, get the, get the going and I'm excited.
05:33I'm excited to see how this year keep going.
05:35Pop, obviously an emotional week for Josh, um, sorry, not Josh McDaniels, that's, uh, for Steph Diggs, uh, going into a game returning to Buffalo.
05:45For him, was that just like, uh, did you all notice a difference in him in practice leading into a game like that?
05:52Or has that just been him building week upon week, making himself feel more confident coming back from injury?
05:58And should we expect that to continue with this week?
06:01No, yeah, that's, that's him. It, that's just, it just happened to be, you know, that, that game, you know, uh, where the light just shine on him.
06:10But he, he does this, you know, um, weekly, he, he works hard, you know, uh, our whole group, you know, we, we working hard to, you know, be better than, you know, a lot, a lot of people, you know, and I feel like we work hard and that put that on display.
06:26You know, that's just a little sneak peek of, you know, what he could do. And he's been hooping and balling and, uh, he pushing our group for sure. Uh, but that's a weekly thing for him.
06:34It just happened to be against the Bills, you know, and, uh, I don't know. He, he got more of that in him. And, uh, too, we excited to see it.
06:43Well, I'll say this after the game this way, this week, I'm hoping you guys get a victory. Expectations are high. So tell Diggs, if you're going to go to TikTok or IG, please play some big boogie for me.
06:55I'm going to, I'm going to now continue to watch the stories afterwards. I need some big boogies.
07:01Yes, please.
07:03And Popper, let you go on this. This is a very historic location you're playing in on Sunday because it is the site of my man, Jermaine Wiggins, to my left, where he caught the final pass thrown by Tom Brady that led to the first Super Bowl win with a 48-yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri.
07:19So hallowed ground, the site of the Patriots' first Super Bowl win.
07:22Yeah, that, that's tough, man. Shout out to him for sure.
07:28Thank you, Pop. Good luck in New Orleans. We'll talk to you soon.
