00:21uh every other week here on what is normally a patriots friday but today is a patriots thursday
00:27so we appreciate you taking the time this morning i appreciate y'all having me um i happened to be
00:35there last night when devin mccourty asked you who had the best hands in the wide receiver room
00:44and i thought your answer was interesting uh who who has the best hands in the room
00:49i was just you know uh you know on the stage you know uh having a guy just a good laugh you know
00:57but uh i feel like you know we all ball players we all you know pop pop that wasn't the answer you
01:05gave last night
01:06you know i believe in my hands but for sure as you should
01:14all the guys your your answer was me and i and i and i love the confidence that's what i would say
01:21i love the confidence pop although your coach said that it was chisholm so uh yeah
01:27pop there's been a lot of yeah kids been bothered there's been a lot of comparison between last
01:34preseason this preseason you dealt with a hand injury at the beginning of last preseason but
01:39taking that out of it what's been the biggest difference between what preseason looked like
01:43last year and what it looks like this year under mike rabel
01:45um i feel like you know uh a lot of guys are bought in and you know trusting the process
01:52i feel like i've you know uh the difference between you know the two is like they were we're close
02:00on this team right here uh you know in the locker room offense and defense conversation a lot
02:05and i feel like that made us you know super close and we actually do activities coach do activities
02:12and you switch up the groups with offense and defense you get to know your players and i feel
02:16like we've been getting to know each other and that that helped that's like a plus on the field
02:21pop when you look at your unit your group the wide receiver room nationally you guys haven't been
02:28getting a lot of credit um i think they have you guys ranked maybe like 26 in the nfl when it comes to
02:34to your room um what what what is what is the expectations do you want to prove all these guys
02:41wrong out there to think that you guys might not be a good enough unit to be able to go out there
02:46week in and week out and and put the fear uh of god in some of the db's eyes uh i think you know as
02:56week going to you know the first week uh we just go out there and play uh and i feel like you know
03:03the expectation that they have is is going to change you know uh just by uh how we practice man and i i
03:11just pray that we go on the right path down the right path and you know put do what we do and you
03:17know shock the world pop what's the biggest difference this year with mike rabel as your head coach
03:22uh man he's i mean he's good like i said with the what he's done with the team as of making us super
03:31close uh man it that's been good uh players coach he definitely that's this one head coach that i've
03:39seen in the mix as of if we're doing running plays he's on scouting defense he knows it all man he
03:45he does sing the ball and what he does is amazing pop when you look at josh mcdaniel's
03:54and i know you're with billy oh there's some similarities there because they all come from
03:59the charlie weiss offense tom brady offense that we've seen in years past what what kind of role
04:06are you expecting in a josh mcdaniel mcdaniel's offense is he are you seeing more as a slot guy an
04:13outside guy or are you just kind of moving all over the place yeah i'm moving all over the place
04:18uh i guess whatever the scheme is and what fits you know josh know how to use his players uh
04:25because he's been at the previous years and his slots and his receivers he's been doing a great job
04:31you know uh getting the ball to you know his players so i feel like it man it's going to be a good year
04:38with josh pop we saw during the offseason drake may coordinating everybody to meet and make sure
04:44to get reps in with you guys um what have you seen a jump wise for him from year one to year two
04:50uh big leader uh he's been growing as a leader and man i've seen his confidence go up man and
04:58you can you can tell how how he's back there with you know patience and just sitting back there
05:04believing in his uh ola i can't wait to see what he does this year uh like uh you said with the
05:12with us in the summer he got us together we're gonna go throw some routes man that's big that's
05:17what you need uh for a group as a leader and he did a great job leading that and all the guys
05:23that's what we needed i feel like we got close with that too you talk about leadership what is
05:29steph diggs meant to the wide receiver room for you guys man uh that that was big i feel like some
05:37of the young guys we needed that we needed a you know uh that leader who doesn't let you slack uh
05:43steph steph that guy who he doesn't let nothing slide by he he knows our potential and if you see
05:51anything we trying to something lazy he's almost uh he's doing a great job for us
05:58has cardi b had been a practice yet that's all i would care about if i was teammates with him
06:03is that a no you haven't seen cardi b around the building yet
06:10no i haven't i haven't seen cardi around
06:14if you do see it tell a wig he says what's up
06:17we we um as long as we're going in this direction uh we got a uh last night got a restaurant
06:25recommendation from drake may and one from will campbell so we'll get one from you uh what's what
06:33what's your favorite place to go to around here um i i like to go to aria

06:45it's a uh new sushi spot i think i i think i'm gonna go there okay all right let us know how that

07:00is right at aria yeah possible take care of it yes it's no duval but
07:06hey pop have you considered trademarking anything like pop d i don't know if you saw the news bill
07:12belichick is uh trying to trademark some things so i don't know if you had ever ever been approached
07:17to trademark a part of your likeness uh no not not yet i feel like i i'm just getting in like
07:25getting in the door i'm i'm getting there but i'm not there yet so not yet so so pop let me ask this
07:32because you talk about getting there right and we've seen what josh mcdaniels has done
07:38to you know four players whether it's been guys like julian edelman and and you know guys like
07:44wes welker and i understand that tom brady was the quarterback but the utilization of a skill set
07:50like yours where catch and make guys miss after the foot um after the catch your run after catch
07:57do you feel like in this offense you can really shine and be the you know one of the top receivers
08:04you know in the league and be one of the best receivers on this team uh no yes sir i i feel
08:11like you know josh has the has the perfect scheme you know to get his guys open watching film you know
08:18i've seen plays where he he's done got the ball to the guy and they got so much space and he he calls
08:24the plays i don't know what he do he definitely playing madden definitely playing madden because
08:30you know it's somebody open and it's it'd be the right player it's crazy and uh i feel like
08:37he's gonna he's gonna be good all right well tell him you want to play the f not the y because
08:43that's where the money goes to the f
08:44pop do you know do you know who you're talking to you're talking to jermaine wiggins do you have
08:51do you have are you yeah yeah not just a tight end i mean the man basically started the dynasty
09:01with uh with a catch in the snowball i mean the guy is he's patriots royalty okay patriots royalty over
09:08okay i'm just trying to catch up that's all i'm just trying to get be like him one day

09:35rookies and they were asked they gave them three facts about patriots uh super bowl wins and asked
09:43one was a false fake fact right and they asked the guys about 2002 uh and the the fact that they
09:52that they picked that was they thought was the fake one was that you guys played the rams so
09:58it really it makes you feel old yeah not you pop but the rest of us so all right listen thanks uh
