Meteorologists are concerned about the possibility of a hybrid between a nor'easter and a tropical storm that could form just off of the East Coast between Oct. 10 and 12.
Transcript
00:00Friday's going to be a quieter day, but we want to turn your attention off the east coast.
00:04And there's a weak zone of low pressure near the Bahamas.
00:07And as this dip in the jet stream sets up, look at this.
00:10We get a storm to form.
00:11This will be like a nor'easter, kind of a hybrid system between a nor'easter and a tropical storm.
00:16So again, we have big concerns here, Damien.
00:18Stiff onshore winds breaking out.
00:20And if this goes out to sea, we would see fewer impacts.
00:22But we're concerned it'll hug the coast with rain and wind.
00:25Now the southeast currently seeing some showers and storms.
00:27That's right.
00:28So the southeast is just whenever this first little wave of rainfall over the next couple of days starts to exit the southeast.
00:34And that's going to redevelop.
00:35So it's going to be a wet pattern here across the southeast heading throughout the next couple of days.
00:40This wet pattern continues up the Mississippi and across the Gulf and pretty much the entire state of Florida.
00:45Still dealing with some onshore winds bringing some heavy rainfall.
