00:00We have a lot to talk about in the tropics. Tropical storm Jerry, by the way, has formed.
00:04So again, we have a little more interest on this frontal system that's going to deposit itself off the southeast coast.
00:09But in the short term, Jerry is with us. A tropical storm named around midday today.
00:13Absolutely. And as we head throughout the next 24 hours, it does look like Jerry could intensify just enough to reach Category 1 hurricane status.
00:20Now the good news is the core of this storm will stay barely northeast of the Leeward Island.
00:24Still a sideswipe here. We'll see gusts of wind between 40 and our AccuWeather local storm acts as 60 miles per hour.
00:30Even if this is a hurricane by this time, the center of the storm in the eye wall would be northeast of the islands.
00:35That's right. And that is also going to bring some rainfall to this region, mainly one to two inches.
00:39But once again, wouldn't be surprised if we see a rain gauge out here topping four inches during this timeline.
00:45And this storm will have an AccuWeather real impact scale rating for hurricanes of less than one.
00:49So a manageable impact there for the British Virgin Islands and the Northern Leewards.
00:52But still, some impacts are in the cards.
00:55That's right. Some flooding, some power outages will be possible. That's what we'll be tracking for that.
