Tropical development expected in the days ahead

AccuWeather forecasters are keeping an eye on multiple potential tropical systems across the Atlantic.

00:00There's a pretty robust tropical wave that's been drifting now, moving slowly away from some of these areas.

00:05But there has been some flash flooding out there tied to some of this.

00:08Here you can see the current radar with a lot of action off to the west and to the south.

00:12And when we take a look at some recent reports, there have been reports of some street flooding.

00:16You can see Cuibrada Margarita was out of its banks, flowing completely over nearby streets there.

00:23USGS River Sensor reported that they were dealing with multiple foot rise there, continuing.

00:29And also off to the west, some flooding with some other issues.

00:33Flooded lanes on one road, at least a few roads out into western parts of Puerto Rico.

00:39Big picture, here's the satellite loop.

00:41And you can see that we are dealing with, again, kind of the axis of deeper convection moving west, approaching Punta Cana there.

00:48But to the south of Puerto Rico and southeast of there, a tropical wave continues to roam that way.

00:53And also near the area of western Cuba.

00:55We have a tropical rainstorm near the Texas-Louisiana coast.

00:58Also an area of low pressure up off the Georgia coast, too.

01:01So a lot of different features on the map are things that we can track at this point as the Atlantic becomes more active.

01:06Beyond those, though, there's a robust tropical wave entering the eastern Caribbean.

01:11Another one a few hundred miles west of Africa.

01:14The water is plenty warm out here.

01:17And that has not at any point been much of a limiting factor.

01:20But at times we've had too much shear.

01:22Shades of pastel here.

01:24You can see not much wind shear.

01:26So there's very little to keep us in check.

01:28We do expect to see some additional development, especially from the tropical wave entering the Caribbean.

01:33And another one out over the Atlantic in the days to come.

01:36We've got to keep an eye on both of these here.

01:38Persistent downpours.

01:39Most likely the storm off the Georgia coast will stay disorganized.
