00:00:00Welcome back to The Grid here at Assen where we've just had a dry Supersport race as you've

00:00:06seen and wouldn't you just know it we step out onto the grid for the super bikes fellas

00:00:10and it starts raining again. Yeah it's I mean it's such challenging conditions it's just

00:00:14started to spit it's in the air it's it's just unbelievable here today and what a difficult

00:00:20thing it is for the riders at the moment you kind of got no choice it's kind of just the same image

00:00:25raining a bit harder now so I mean everyone be looking at their apps desperately trying to guess

00:00:30what's happening is it coming in is it just a shower do I have to start on slicks nurse it for a bit

00:00:35then get going I mean it's oh I bet you are happily uh buying the microphone aren't you Shane? I was

00:00:41just thinking the same you can you didn't describe it much better to be honest like just a second ago

00:00:46when you said oh yeah it's starting to rain a bit more I got all optimistic and thought oh no the

00:00:49sun's coming out it's gonna be all right it's gonna be all right but the rain's back again like

00:00:53as a rider one of the things you have to bear in mind you know we stand here if you can stand

00:00:57outside right now of your house and it's raining on your head that's one thing but when you're

00:01:00driving or riding 170 180 miles an hour down the back straight those raindrops come quite a lot

00:01:05faster right so you know people talk to you all the time mechanics and stuff talk to you about mental

00:01:10rain and say it's just mental rain it's not going to make the track wet you think to yourself yeah

00:01:13I'll tell you what I'll do I'll take you on a pillion ride you come down the back straight with me

00:01:16and see what that rain looks like on my visor and then tell me it's mental rain it's so difficult for the riders

00:01:21yeah well uh it is actually just stopping to rain now just as the teams are switching from slicks

00:01:26to wets by the looks of things if it is that a shake of their head from leon he can't believe it

00:01:31um one guy who would probably be happy to see the return of the rain is that race two winner from

00:01:36earlier on today christian idden first winner of the season another brilliant ride in in really tricky

00:01:41conditions how nice was it to see christian he's had such a good season on the ajn still stock

00:01:46he's been like so consistent a load of fourth places having a really really good season and

00:01:51yeah I mean listen he he dropped the hammer when the uh when the lights went out and just and just

00:01:56stayed in the front didn't he did exactly what he needed to do you know that that race was so tricky

00:02:00for the guys as well because you know they got into it a little bit it dried up a little bit and then

00:02:04they had another shower in the middle of the race and it got wet again and then dried right up towards

00:02:09the end of the race but he read the read the conditions perfectly and uh and got the job done so

00:02:13chapter bits for christian but think about this sort of condition anyway it's very much someone

00:02:17could rise to the floor you know whether it's like a storm stacy or you know there's some guys that

00:02:21that will do it there's other guys that have got to be super careful you ride you raise the guys

00:02:26going for the championship and it doesn't get trickier than this half on half off dry but spitting

00:02:32conditions i mean really i feel for the riders okay well it looks at the moment as though the sun is

00:02:38trying to break through and it's going to dry up here and this track does dry out so fast so you would think

00:02:42it would be uh a switch back to slicks from the west if that's uh what the majority are going to

00:02:47go with let's find out uh because wit is somewhere behind us amongst it on the grid i am don't ask me

00:02:52i've made uh the wrong call every single time i've been on the grid it's done something unexpected and

00:02:58i've been here a lot and i've had some challenging conditions here at the minute a little bit of sort

00:03:02of damp on the track but it's definitely slicks one man who will be hoping to pick the right

00:03:07tires for this one is fraser rogers for the seventh last time out uh today and and really

00:03:13having a great ride yesterday in torrential treacherous conditions when you slid off no

00:03:18shame in that lad and you have a little bit less to lose uh than some of the championships that are

00:03:22front runners uh what's it like out there uh judging off the super sport race we've come to the grid on

00:03:28slicks and i left pit lane and it was um raining quite a lot so before you know it there's there's a few of

00:03:34us like with your foot down like it actually makes any difference but we're testing the conditions

00:03:37but at the minute i think it slicks but yeah it's a shame about yesterday um i nicked the white line

00:03:42and cost us a real good chance and today i'm disappointed with seventh because i felt i could

00:03:46have done the same today but we just had a small technical and i had to try and ride around it and

00:03:49it was it was difficult to manage but um the boys have got everything changed everything fixed now

00:03:55let's get stuck in and uh let's finish this weekend on a high and carry on finishing in this get

00:04:00back to form basically because i've been struggling of late so it's been nice to be back at the sharp end

00:04:04well fraser thank you yeah i was having a great ride yesterday in conditions that you really

00:04:08wouldn't have wanted to be out there in right rory skin it's been declared a dry race by the way

00:04:14so it does come on to rain again uh they will stop it uh so rory skinner brilliant ride last time out

00:04:22today uh sort of mixed weekend really for you but you've you've done well with the tire choices every

00:04:29single time and that has been a challenge not just challenging for the riders but the team

00:04:33whole team everything yeah it's it's not been the easiest weekend yeah yeah it's been tough this

00:04:38the podium this morning definitely helped a lot brought the morales up a lot in the garage and

00:04:43yes it's not going to be an easy race in the in the dry i think it's going to be a little bit greasy at

00:04:47the start to be honest james i think uh with the with the rain coming down there in the sighting laps

00:04:51it's gonna it's gonna make it a little bit sketchy the first couple laps but yeah i'll dig in see what i can

00:04:56do and yeah see where we end up all right thank you cheers yeah really difficult i think it's it's

00:05:02actually it under 40 feels pretty dry now i've got to admit so i will be going on slicks looks a little

00:05:07bit brighter behind me but what do i know i've got it wrong every single time the race organizers

00:05:12generally will have a look at a fairly accurate accurate rare weather radar and they'll know what's

00:05:17coming in in the next kind of 10 minutes quite accurately and they've gone for a dry race so uh

00:05:24i'll let you get on with it tommy and i just taken a sort of a gel there

00:05:31don't eat the mic will you uh what's it like hey i mean it's dry yeah um yeah it's dry for sure

00:05:39it's all right just maybe the odd white line and curb here and there but um

00:05:43um i'll let maybe a few guinea pigs out front just to start with but uh let's see i feel confident

00:05:49i felt confident in the dry weekend not so much in the wet so it was a i was happy with that race

00:05:54earlier but uh keep our head down and see what we can do go to it cheers thank you right i tell you

00:05:59what we'll do we'll have a word with we'll go straight to paul we'll go straight across the front

00:06:04of leon we'll come back to him if we get time uh leon's been having a great weekend especially where

00:06:09he's uh one of the oldest on the grid but certainly one of the bravest still i know you

00:06:14probably the most unusual pole position you've ever got i would have said that the fastest lap

00:06:19of the last race that puts you here on the last lap going forward yes uh first off the race was

00:06:25trying to just stay on really i seen brad was in front um didn't ride my best but as it started

00:06:29to get a little bit drier that hard tire coming to its own um fair play to iddo he was very good

00:06:34at the start and that's what running the way won him at the race so uh yeah i mean big bonus is that

00:06:39i got pole position to start this trial race on and every position you nicked was a a sort of bonus

00:06:44for your championship going forward wasn't it in that last race yeah deja vu to brands really when

00:06:48i caught hickman up and passed him on the last lap i caught storm up there on the last lap set my

00:06:52best lap and pole position for this race and managed to pass him into their last chicane so

00:06:55they could be very crucial in a few weeks time good luck kyle cheers james thank you yeah he won the

00:07:00championship by one point so passing somebody anytime especially in the last corner it could

00:07:07prove really pivotal come brands hatch in a month well the headline in the program was ride on time

00:07:15kyle has really timed it perfectly so far he's on pole position for this one after that brilliant lap at

00:07:20the end of race two but race three is the first that we'll have this weekend on full slicks it's going

00:07:25to be a cracker and it's coming it's round nine of eleven of bsb for 2025 and the final race of the

00:07:33weekend in asem but the first in dry conditions you can see a few damp patches there the curbs and white

00:07:39paint might be a bit slippery but finally the first dry action since qualifying yesterday and what's in

00:07:46store it's been fascinating it's been so up and down throughout the weekend thus far two races down and

00:07:52six different riders have been on those podium spaces it's kyle ride on pole and he holds a 25

00:07:58point lead how will that look at the end of this race he starts from pole as well haslam and skinner

00:08:03are locked on points in third he didn't fit up his brilliant win earlier on bridewell six danny kent

00:08:09seven scott reading eighth it's what five six riders there that are going to fight out for third in

00:08:13the championship but who wins it seven racers left in the 2025 season and this is how they line up on the

00:08:20grid it is kyle ride the defending champion and the series leader on pole position with leon haslam

00:08:27alongside him and tommy bridewell who we just heard from on the grid a moment ago christian hidden who

00:08:33won the race earlier on as well will be heading row two and alongside it will be bradley ray who clawed

00:08:42back 10 points in the championship and brawry skinner as well as the rest of the riders go through

00:08:47the grid look out for scott reading he's got work to do a really disappointing race for scott some

00:08:52issues that they had on the pbm uh to katie earlier means he has to start from um 15 on row five james

00:09:00in dry conditions this weekend what we've seen is bradley ray and scott reading going well but

00:09:04ready's got so much work to do so yeah we're thinking brad has got i think if you combine the

00:09:10wet pace and the drive pace i would just have to put a little bit of money on brad for this one however

00:09:16conditions have changed by the minute what's going to happen it's so easy to make a mistake you don't

00:09:20want to run that damp apart the track or any of the paint that'll still hold the water and be really

00:09:24slippy so it's one of them difficult to call it's a dry race therefore if it starts raining they will

00:09:29stop it they will stop it let's see what we've got then if you think this is unpredictable nothing ever

00:09:35happens at alton park or brands we've got them to come car ride starts on pole there's david williams

00:09:42the team boss for nitrous competition steve rogers the team boss for raceways yamaha

00:09:47is going to have the advantage 25 points separate kyle ride and brad ray 25 points on offer in this

00:09:54final race of the weekend dean asin 18 laps coming your way eyes on the lights and away we go good

00:10:02start actually from all on the front row christian hidden also got away pretty well on the launch now

00:10:07down towards harbach corner turn one brad ray trying to tread his way through he's maybe fourth or

00:10:13fifth skinner also up the inside into fourth place but it is a solid start so far so good for car ride

00:10:20yep and brad ray fourth uh skinner in fifth and that's the other thing brad ray has to kind of

00:10:27maneuver himself around and about people uh early season we used to see him just making a good launch and

00:10:34getting away and when it's like this you know it's damp off line a little bit and the curbs are a bit

00:10:39slippy then that's could be a problem would kyle want to lead in the early stages of this one i think

00:10:44he would i think he would yeah christian hidden his good friend is just behind him in second he said

00:10:48he's not had any dry pace all weekend we're about to find out whether that is the case oh and straight

00:10:53through christian he's got a bit deep but i think kyle yeah will allow him back through leon haslam now

00:10:59tried to punch as well he goes through he gate crashes he's not going to fit through there that

00:11:04was threading the needle for haslam and almost went horribly wrong yeah well leon went a little bit

00:11:09wide as well uh then just after that so that's that kyle back through he'll settle ourselves down in a

00:11:14minute i'm sure yeah yeah right so skinner in four was out of the seat there's scott redding he's made

00:11:20a really good start he's made up a couple of places remember he's had excellent dry pace all weekend on

00:11:25that one-off color scheme for haiga bbm to kathy 70th anniversary for them there's storm stacy

00:11:31getting busy as well there's a roger stuck here he's gonna walk down inside now he's wide on the

00:11:35curve wasn't it kyle back in the road yeah nice into the gate to him a chicane we complete lap one

00:11:40and it is kyle that leads but look at this they're side by side the yamaha and christian hidden

00:11:45they're three abreast and through from third to first is leon haslam there's not enough room for three

00:11:50haslam leads into turn one squeezing underneath kyle ryde is his good buddy christian hidden

00:11:56they are they are they are they falling out

00:12:01right into turn two and three hidden aggressive there getting back through on leon haslam and now

00:12:08kyle ryde has the inside line on haslam into strobben hairpin how many passes you want left i like it

00:12:13there we have more meanwhile just behind them skinner brad ray and tommy bridewell who are all

00:12:21big hitters in this championship as well and all the fraction at the front has kept everybody together

00:12:30hidden it is then that has this advantage they go through turn eight second mile corner

00:12:35now leon haslam again just using that boat to rapido to catty yeah got a little bit of speed on

00:12:41the kawasaki now can he get a few clean lines together he didn't retaliating at every opportunity

00:12:49when you're on that bike you've got to do that i think you've got to get back when you can and

00:12:53where you can yeah leon haslo looking for his first win since the opening round of the season

00:12:59tommy bridewell at the moment in contention as well there he's in fifth he's gone ahead of brad ray

00:13:03yeah they're using a little bit of the curves with the throttle open so i can tell you they're

00:13:08fairly confident that the curbs are fairly dry here comes kyle wow favorite passing point for him

00:13:15into the girt jimmy chicane yeah he got that stopped really well yeah didn't he so good on the brakes is

00:13:20kyle right tommy bridewell moved up another spot as well number 46 on the honda a proper mix-up here of

00:13:26man and machinery to catty leading through yamaha from kawasaki from honda on the grid uh tommy bridewell was

00:13:32really fancying this in the dry he said they've had good pace and good feel in the dry

00:13:38fastest man we said it scott redding he's moved up another couple of places yeah he's right he's not

00:13:44out of this no he's on that white pbm ducati there just going up underneath charlie nesbit so he's up

00:13:50into eights now yep and he can win this from row five on the grid and on to the the veen slank the

00:13:58snake and it just looked like a snake that it did the pack leon haslam leads from kyle ride brad ray

00:14:06yet to properly warm into this storm stacy it's not shown a lot of drive pace here in acid but

00:14:13this is excellent from the number 79 on the vaythams vmw look at scott redding as well is he about to

00:14:19lunch had a little bit of a look at brad ray there didn't he yeah brad's not in a position he wants to

00:14:24be in here james not at all it's everywhere he looks there's another vibe you just feel that if he's

00:14:29not going forward then he's going to be going backwards a little bit three of 18 haslam leads

00:14:36i'm impressed with storm yeah me too and storm's not a dangerous rider you know for all that he's

00:14:40young and a bit flamboyant and he looks like he should be a little bit sort of dangerous on track

00:14:46he's not he's very safe and his passes are safe for the most part as it stands this would be good

00:14:51news for coil ride fans he's in second brad ray currently in seventh but there's a lot of chopping

00:14:56and changing still to go haslam leads over the line tommy bridewell now trying to challenge christian

00:15:01hidden they get up side by side and bridewell's up into third and it's raining and they'll stop

00:15:05remember they will stop it if there's anything like uh heavy rain coming down they'll stop it because

00:15:13uh they will they're all out there on sleet the organizers know that stuart higgs has got his rain

00:15:18men as well in this one what do i mean by that is that he'll have certain riders that will put their

00:15:23arm up in the air and almost give a signal to stuart to say look i think enough's enough yeah

00:15:28the flag was at ram's hook which is coming back to what that's what all the rain is hitting because

00:15:33the wind is coming from that direction the weather is coming from that direction so maybe with before

00:15:38too long we're going to get a little bit on the start and finish here yeah always a few people with

00:15:43legs in the air there as well i think this is going to be stopped yeah red flag rain red flag rain and we

00:15:49thought that might be the case they're about to come up to the the section where there was some

00:15:53rain as well yeah and that's the difference if the rain is the if the race is declared a dry race

00:15:59then you're kind of safe setting off on sleep because if it does rain at all then they're going

00:16:03to stop it if it's declared doesn't matter what the conditions are if you declared a wet race they

00:16:08won't stop it unless the rain gets that dangerous that with any tire it is dangerous to run

00:16:13so that makes sense yes it does make sense the weather here this weekend in assent i've been

00:16:20coming here a long time 1985 i first came here and i've been here a lot of times when it's been

00:16:25uh challenging conditions and changeable but never when it's been quite this changeable and challenging

00:16:31honestly here we go then scott redding has put himself in a good position now yes he has ready for

00:16:37the restart because it will be a new race that's restarted and he'll have a much stronger qualifying

00:16:44position but the question is is when they do get going what do you go for how much rain is going to

00:16:50fall you can see it raining there on the screen is that all of the dry action we're going to see for

00:16:57the rest of the weekend who knows before a third distance complete restart uh yeah yes yes yes yes

00:17:05yeah yeah fewer than three lapses yeah we had completed three laps over the line just then

00:17:13so but so that does that go to original grid positions or is that

00:17:19no i believe that they'll on oh sorry sorry

00:17:24there's a bus i've just been thrown under no no you must have completed three yeah

00:17:35this is tommy bridewell he got off to a decent start there storm stacy had set the fastest lap of

00:17:41the race yeah but i still think this is borderline as to whether it's a complete restart original grid

00:17:47positions or you will go for where you align in that race for your grid positions

00:17:56we've got a complete restart coming

00:18:00so explain what that means then in terms of grid positions

00:18:05yep we've so they'll start as we've got it on our grid okay so kyle wright will start from

00:18:09polly on haslam start from second time he bridewell will start from third yeah that's what i assumed in

00:18:13the first place um we're going across some of the garages here there's a bit of uh hot language going

00:18:20from garage to garage so apologies for that but as you can imagine they've just jumped off

00:18:25these uh super bikes yeah the in terms of high adrenaline situations they don't come a lot higher than

00:18:32this not only have you been racing a bike in con a big powerful bike and speeds up to sort of

00:18:38185 miles an hour on in conditions that are uh fairly treacherous uh then then you've got to come

00:18:45in and make a tire choice there's a lot going on so i can i can understand it there's darren fry he's um

00:18:53been on circuit himself a few times this weekend in the bmw 900 cup he's been off circuit a few times

00:19:00yeah he's great block didn't take his didn't take his penalty loop yesterday either no i don't think he

00:19:06was bothers out there for a championship at stake for him he's just having a bit of fun uh there's

00:19:10nobody as enthusiastic about his racing and that means his own riding uh not much of that anymore

00:19:16uh but also running the fs3 team uh with nigel snook uh they love what they do they're here because

00:19:24they want to do it for and for no other reason i feel a bit sorry for the fans this weekend they've

00:19:28been brilliant here but they've been put through it let's say in terms of uh the weather yep but it's

00:19:35great to come here it was announced earlier as well that aston is definitely on the calendar for

00:19:39next year as well same time of year so we will be coming back to uh northeastern netherlands yeah

00:19:47everybody likes coming all the teams all the riders it's a great circuit in a great part of the world

00:19:53lovely people we love coming here exactly yeah the whole paddock does it's great they make us welcome

00:19:58they've got so many union flags about the place that you can't believe it there's loads of them

00:20:05so these guys in after a red flag it was declared a dry race that's why the red flags come out if you've

00:20:12just tuned in british supersport managed to get their race uh completed and it just dried out for

00:20:19them a great race there kyle wright 25 point lead he sits on in the championship incidentally if kyle leaves

00:20:28with a championship lead of 31 or more by the end of today he could in theory uh win the championship

00:20:36mathematically at alton park anything less than 31 and it's going to brands regardless i think that is

00:20:43very unlikely i agree yeah yeah you didn't say mathematically yeah yeah there are the union uh flags

00:20:53that wits had his eye on all weekend i forgot client i'd have one if i could climb up

00:21:00let's grab a word with a couple of riders who were just out there in those conditions leon haslam's

00:21:05was shaking yeah he is thank you steve uh leon obviously leading that race then when the uh when

00:21:09the red flags come out obviously after yesterday sure higgs made the right call in your opinion

00:21:14as the leader was it was it wet enough to stop the race yeah the the lap has stuck my leg out it

00:21:18instantly read it um it was at a big downpour just in two fast corners so you're approaching there you

00:21:23know 100 plus miles an hour and um yeah it needed to be stopped it to be fair if it had probably maybe

00:21:28put a pace car out we could have waited for this little drizzle to pass and go but um yeah safety

00:21:33wise it's definitely cool all to play for in the next part then i said gotta do it again now cheers

00:21:39yeah sounds like the the right call is made but it has stopped like leon just said it has yep like it

00:21:45has all day when it's rained it stopped fairly quickly dried out fairly quickly but then the next

00:21:50batch of rain seems to come before you've time to sort of work things out uh very relaxed is leon and

00:21:57it's difficult to be relaxed in that position they're fairly relaxed yeah dressed up as a seagull

00:22:04in fact one of the corners around here mavenmere mavenmere which means that seagull's lake yes

00:22:10there is uh shannon ethridge crew chief to kyle ryde they're just going out and having a look you'll

00:22:19see our very own shaky going over there as well possibly about to have a word don't recommend

00:22:26anything shaky in terms of tires you don't want that kind of pressure as uh spider normally crew

00:22:34chiefing for andy erwin but this weekend with andy on the sidelines he's

00:22:38gone over to tommy's side of the garage tommy was going well there

00:22:44we just saw shaky of course um i think teeing up an interview with kyle ryde so right on cue let's

00:22:49jump down to them now yeah cheers matt yeah just in kyle ryde kyle you're running second there in that

00:22:53race um obviously after yesterday um you know safe to uh to call it but um was it was it wet enough and

00:23:02what do you do now uh i mean we want to go as quick as possible before any more rain comes um

00:23:07but yeah it was fine until that point there was a few spits on a couple of first laps but me and leon

00:23:12went flat out down the back street and uh yeah it was just like a swarm of flies and it wasn't

00:23:16obviously flies it was raining and it was hard to see so we stuck our legs out a few people come past

00:23:21that was more brave and then it got red flagged so i think i don't know i don't know if it was the right

00:23:24thing to do or not but it was scary at the time 173 mile an hour so it's uh yeah just hoping to get back

00:23:29out there asap situation now um can you guys use new rear tires or do you have to go out on the

00:23:34tires that you were on in the first part of that race uh i'm not sure more than likely we'll have to

00:23:38go out on on these tires i think um which would be nice um but yeah this is what it is if it's a

00:23:43full restart then we'll crack on we feel good big skids in the restart then cheers mate thank you

00:23:48yeah when this race resumes if it's declared wet you can change your tires obviously because yes people

00:23:53are putting wet or not yeah and uh it's steve not matt shaky so uh he's done this as he did this to

00:24:01chris not long ago he called chris steve he's calling me matt but anyway cheers dave um we have

00:24:08got thumbs up from the crowds as they know that racing will get underway soon i know what christian

00:24:14idden would like a little sprinkling i reckon he would like anything other than slicks yeah anything in

00:24:20between although he did say earlier on that he had no pace at all in the dry you could have fooled

00:24:26me yeah well he got a good start didn't he got stuck in there you did get the impression that that

00:24:31he would have worked his way backwards a little bit didn't seem to have the speed down the straight

00:24:36and that makes a little bit of a sitting duck of you so as you can see there on the uh standings

00:24:44what we've got some information so because they'd started lap four three laps completed it will be

00:24:48a restart over 14 laps quick start procedure and it will be the grid as of lap three okay so no tire

00:24:54changes because they had started lap four when the red flag came out that was really borderline then

00:24:59it was borderline yeah you're absolutely right that's handy for the likes of scott redding because

00:25:03he now starts from eight yeah he's a big winner there and he's got very good speed in the dry as well so

00:25:10um yeah we will get going it will be a 14 lap race but at the moment you're going to start the race

00:25:18on slicks again yeah you can't really do anything else at this point it's dry out there it stopped

00:25:24raining you've got to go on slick some of the curbs and the paint around the back might be a little

00:25:30bit sleepy i think they'll be a bit nervous of that

00:25:35let me see there kyle and glenn teammates just chatting it over they're getting themselves ready to

00:25:39get the helmet back on pit lane opens in three minutes that's a good enough time for us to take

00:25:54welcome back to asin we had a red flag um after a dry race was declared but some rain felt so the red

00:26:02flags have come out we now know that there's going to be a restart over 14 laps a quick start procedure

00:26:07grid uh as at lap three so they'll be heading out shortly over 14 laps let's get down to shaky

00:26:14he's with stuart higgs now stuart obviously a difficult decision for you there some of the riders

00:26:19saying oh you know maybe a safety car could have uh could have kept the race running but after

00:26:23yesterday i guess that was a right call yeah we don't use the the safety car for managing weather

00:26:27situations that's uh that's that's specifically prescribed to say we can't do that but you know i had

00:26:33rain men on the first two rows and we knew it was localized but it was this sharp sudden downpour

00:26:39i mean with such close proximity guys um you know one person going down it would be a chain reaction

00:26:44and uh we certainly don't want that so um we know what we're dealing with um it was i i believe

00:26:50it was right to stop to avoid an accident i have the ability obviously if you stop a race for

00:26:56climatic conditions it would normally be a wet race but i have the right to apply common sense and

00:27:01i can change it back to a uh a dry race because that's what that reflects the actuality so

00:27:07yeah we go again um look the riders trust me i hope and i trust them uh to get 14 14 good laps now

00:27:14i think it's not for a dry one stuart

00:27:17i don't envy the role of stuart higgs and not even on a normal dry weekend not alone this the good thing is

00:27:24that in vsb he has the final say and he's good at making the call generally you don't make the

00:27:30perfect call every time nobody could but because it's not a committee or three or four people arguing

00:27:35with each other like you're getting some championships you do and you get no decision out of that at least

00:27:40you get a definite decision the teams know what they're doing and 99.9 of the time it's the right call

00:27:46on shoot for i think so this is the sighting lap a quick start procedure warm-up lap 14 lap race coming

00:27:53your way and it's dry again at the moment will it rain who knows the acid weather used to be indecisive

00:27:59and now it's not so sure yeah exactly it's definitely gonna rain again it's just when it looks a little

00:28:04bit brighter or did two minutes ago now it's just coming in slightly more dark and threatening i would

00:28:11say but anyway let's all in the championship 25 points split kyle ryde and brad ray before that red

00:28:18flag came out kyle ryde was well placed he looked good in these dry conditions brad ray was having

00:28:26to scratch around a bit he was sort of mired in amongst a few riders battling he's now got another

00:28:31chance to go again earlier in the weekend so let's go back to friday when it was dry brad ray and scott

00:28:37reading stood out yes they did uh that's why i think it's dry i think brad will be well placed

00:28:42i think if you average the times uh the lap times in the dry and the wet brad ray would probably come

00:28:48out best uh but i think i'm sure kyle would be hoping for a dry race his pace in the dry seems to have

00:28:55been better he's going off uh but where's he going off now third yeah uh kyle was third no he wasn't

00:29:04third was he he was was he was second second second second yes so yeah front row again um

00:29:12it'll be kind of after that hoping to make the same start he wanted to get going as quick as possible

00:29:17when he spoke to shake it just because everybody knows more rain is coming it's just one of them

00:29:22days you can't expect that light shower to be the last when the weather is exactly the same coming over

00:29:27um so yeah just want to get going and get some laps under his belt now sometimes james when we go around

00:29:32the country and overseas to race there are days where you think oh i'd just love to have a spin

00:29:37out right now i bet you don't miss racing on days like this when we came here i missed it i love this

00:29:41place had some real good rides here and it's just a great place to ride one of the true old-fashioned

00:29:48classic gp circuits but not this weekend

00:29:53they start the warm-up lap then and so just to recap championship standings 25 points in favor of

00:29:59kyle ryde with seven races to go the 25 22 20 points format continues on into alton park in two

00:30:06weeks time and then in a month when we go to brands for the finale get your tickets booked for that

00:30:10it's almost certainly going to go down to the final round the points ramp up it's haslam on pole

00:30:15from ride and hidden bridewell stacy and skinner on row two with ray redding and nesbit on row

00:30:20three fraser rogers heads row four kent and cook join in then glenn irwin josh brooks and john

00:30:26mcphee row six features lee jackson fancy kelris and scott swan and then you've got richard kerr david

00:30:32todd and peter hickman the teammates on row seven with tessels baker davis on row eight

00:30:40quite like it stay dry now yes i would for 14 laps yeah i want to get some racing done um it does look

00:30:46dry they'll be nervous of the any paint out back because if it has a dish hour the water will stay

00:30:51sitting on that a lot longer than it will stay sitting on the tarmac but as you can see looks

00:30:56uh really dry just heading in now to one of the fastest parts of this acid circuit this double

00:31:07right-hander that leads into the final sector around maven mirror and then on the approach now to hogar

00:31:13hide up as i said acid on the calendar again for next year hoping in the next few weeks at least we

00:31:23should have the provisional calendar yeah that'd be good wouldn't it steve rogers great bloke runs

00:31:29the raceways team and the raceways shop a very successful motorcycle dealers up in fleetwood in

00:31:35lancashire yeah and they stay put in the paddock for next year as well they continue with bradley ray

00:31:40that was the news coming out this weekend good to see leon haslam number 91 on the motor rapido

00:31:47ducati on pole position haslam on the podium here yesterday second place for him his first podium

00:31:54since snetterton looking now for his first win since alton right at the start of the season

00:32:02brad ray can he get back to winning ways he's not one now since cadwell the opening race of that weekend

00:32:08car ride has been in a rich vein of form he's looking for his first podium of the weekend

00:32:13and how will the championship look at the end of 14 laps let's hope this stays dry this time eyes on the

00:32:18lights and we are underway storm stacy got a great start on his bathing's bmw let's see who gets turn

00:32:24one in p1 it's going to be car ride i think who gets the whole shot look at storm though he's lunging

00:32:29he's lunging whoa straight through into second place yeah stone stacy fancied a bit of this he

00:32:35looked really good into some of the corners he uses a lot of back break and sometimes that suits a

00:32:41particular track and sometimes it doesn't it seems to suit arson is he going to have a look into the

00:32:45hairpin here storm stacy no quite defensive from kyle he has that advantage where's brad ray sort of where

00:32:52he started really he's got danny kent up alongside him number one kyle ride leads for number 79 storm stacy

00:32:58what i can tell you is that bathoms bmw of storm stacy's bike in second uh he's got the best color

00:33:05scheme it's fantastic stands out like a sore thumb that's good for us commentators but also it's quick

00:33:10it is very fast that's christian hidden yeah the race winner from earlier on unfortunately down and out

00:33:17of this one big dangly leg there that was more than a dangle that was like a theatrical kick

00:33:24billy elliott eat your heart out yeah storm stacy then in second here and this is just an opportunity

00:33:32for storm yeah that he's gonna take with both hands yeah he's not gonna win a championship but

00:33:36he wants to look impressive he's one of the younger riders in this championship and he's not shy and

00:33:41he's not shy very flamboyant always got a lot to say in the paddock he's a safe to say a character he

00:33:47certainly is we've got plenty of them here is he gonna have a look now he's almost a pin late there

00:33:53yeah the thing that's why he couldn't get the brakes on and he was gonna have a look at out

00:33:57breaking car ride but that scoffered him there let's see how quick that bmw is now they're down

00:34:01to start finish straight is he in contention to have a look no not into turn one maybe at the end of the

00:34:06back straight while did you see the way he slides in and that that's not on the over that's not the engine

00:34:11holding the the rear wheel back that is actually that's his his brake on his on his left hand let's

00:34:16see what happened to iddo oh it's like he caught a curve or something yeah very odd because you

00:34:23wouldn't expect the front to lock there not at all that that something odd there we are going to have

00:34:31three it seems like different race winners potentially let's see where does scott redding

00:34:37how's he getting on at this moment he's in fifth spot on that white pbm to catty pete hickman has

00:34:43just entered pit lane that's the end of his weekend prematurely stomp stacy making moves here he is yeah

00:34:49and i think kyle knows he's there because he's just defending not a lot but just defending slightly

00:34:53making it difficult to storm if you get a chance or if we get a chance have a look at the storm into

00:34:58turn one into harbour because it's spectacular slide in the rear is drops it in again defensive there

00:35:07a little bit from kyle yeah yeah and that's costing him time you won't do a fast lap time when you're

00:35:12defending and he's going to invite more into the correct into the group yeah

00:35:17now into hogar hider for number one on the nitrous competition's yamaha

00:35:22storm stacy looking to fish his way through is there going to be an opportunity now into the

00:35:26gates him a chicane no slightly defensive again but now coming through is leon haslan

00:35:31yeah that's what happens when you kind of line somebody up in front of you you leave yourself

00:35:36orton brad ray in the opening stages of this one not looking incredibly comfortable but it is just

00:35:43the opening couple of laps there is the number 28 in six yeah just not turning it in there as

00:35:48aggressively is it i mean he looks so silky smooth around here in the dry on friday yeah he did so we

00:35:53we will track that and see whether or not that's just him getting into shape early on fastest lap

00:35:58scott redding yeah yeah so around uh turn five he's a danger man here he's got red in white leathers

00:36:10white livery that's a one-off livery for the 70th anniversary of uh hager yeah yeah chatting with the

00:36:18one of the uh employees of vega there weren't we yeah bruce yeah yeah he's had a good weekend

00:36:23they've got an entourage here with them in aston this weekend scott redding might be delivering that

00:36:30wonderful color ski uh maybe even a race win because he's thinking about the move there on

00:36:35yeah he knows there's no rush he's got 13 laps left to do it and uh 12 laps left to do it and everybody

00:36:42is right there in front of him and he's caught him so car ride continuing here to go defensive

00:36:47through mandarin and buks loop so no way through for leon hasler i'll tell you one thing you would be

00:36:55doing you would be looking at the laps counting down and working out when two-thirds distance was

00:37:01and putting yourself in the best position should it shower which he has done several times today and

00:37:08the race gets stopped yeah good point we're about to start lap four to be fair kyle is getting some

00:37:16good acceleration out of the corners which is preventing anyone from having a decent look at

00:37:20him down to turn one exactly preventing somebody getting half level with him yeah it's tracking brad ray

00:37:26at 36.7 is his fastest lap that's the same lap times as kyle rides and maybe brad now might be able to

00:37:32take a couple of steps forward at the moment ride doing a very good job out front defending

00:37:43remember kyle ride before we came to assent not been on a superbike around assent last time he was

00:37:47here he's on a gp2 bike yeah but as shaky said on the first night out we had over dinner he said yeah

00:37:52but he knows his way around here's a professional radio to get his head around it fairly sharply and he has

00:37:58ready up into four you just it just looks like he's going forward doesn't it yeah

00:38:07drag right on this lap is just clawed in a couple of tents as well but remember it is only a 14 lap race

00:38:13is leon now just starting to get himself into a position where he can challenge kyle i think he's

00:38:19starting to look a little bit more aggressive he's haslam

00:38:21you could just see in his eyes this weekend haslam he really fancies the win he's got the bike

00:38:28underneath him to be able to to do the job as well but again out of there kyle's really strong he is

00:38:34yeah all the mid corners of the amaha excels tommy bridewell is he going to return the favor here yes

00:38:42well he tried start lap five

00:38:50now closer a lot closer and he pulls to the inside is he going to have a look up into turn one decides

00:38:56against it meanwhile reading up the inside of storm stacy and holds his line reading up to third brad

00:39:02ray fastest lap of the race now he has warmed into it a 36.3 getting the bit between his teeth now they

00:39:09need to do he does he does he can't really afford to lose more points on kyle yeah he won't need a

00:39:17pickboard at the minute because he can see everybody uh that he needs to see it right in front of him

00:39:22and what he will see is his good mate and championship rival cow ride at the front of the pack yeah kyle at

00:39:28the moment taking 11 points out of brad ray

00:39:34also inside the top 10 just quickly shout them out because we're not going to be looking at them at the

00:39:38moment while this is all going on fraser rogers in the dry inside the top 10 been a good weekend

00:39:42for fraser it has i think in terms of facing really has yeah so then again kyle ride leading

00:39:50defending and for the first time in some time the sun has just popped out don't say that why are you saying that

00:39:57again particularly out of mavermere that kyle ride has got and he's gaining enough of a gap is yours to

00:40:09make himself safe on this section yeah exactly that could prove pivotal at the end of the race as well

00:40:16you can see the team bosses all on the left here i have to say the riders that we're looking at on screen

00:40:22hats off top hats off to storm stacy this is good rhythm and good speed from storm yes it is in the

00:40:31dry around here we've seen this before we saw it at halton park most notably when if he can get away

00:40:36with the leaders he somehow raises his game gets dragged in learns a little bit as he goes and it

00:40:41looks at home there it doesn't look like somebody was scared to be there and will get dropped back at

00:40:47some point it looks comfortable yeah third place man scott reading with the fastest lap of the race

00:40:52what i would say is storm tends to use a little bit more rear tire than others around yeah he's faded

00:40:59in some races because of that this is a shortened distance so whether that favors him or not this is

00:41:04nesbitt he's in seventh head of skinner rogers mcfee good weekend for nesbitt yes a fourth and a sixth so

00:41:12far and acquitted himself quite well here it's been nice to see uh john mcfee hovering around the top

00:41:1710 this weekend as well yes it has yeah and if he was going to do then this was one of the places

00:41:23he would have done it probably donnington uh the other so out front it's still ride that leads from

00:41:30haslam and ready this is stacy with bridewell just behind and brad ray now

00:41:36on their tail and he needs to move quickly yes he does

00:41:42now into the fastest part of the circuit cranking it over left into the ramp's hook tommy brightwell

00:41:50eyeing a move on storm stacy into the gate in the chicane he's lining it up nicely he's going

00:41:55on his honda and he's three yeah lovely set up nicely has it cost him time coming out no it hasn't

00:42:02he's fine perfect and brad ray now capitalized because the momentum's been lost a bit there from

00:42:06storm this might be an opportunity for number 28 to go through into turn one

00:42:10difficult to do it in a single set maneuver when you're racing against when he's trying to

00:42:15against one of the fastest bikes on the track and also easy to get it wrong into turn one and run wide

00:42:20yeah exactly turns two and three now over on the right hand side and then flicking left car rides

00:42:27doing a really good job we're just gonna see you can't fault car ride here setting a decent but not scary

00:42:32pace and just laying everybody else do the work if they're gonna come and get him they're gonna do

00:42:38he's just said his fastest lap of the race at 36.1 and now scott redding i think has seen that

00:42:43and he's keen to edge past leon haslam there is the number four yep the two ducati should be fairly

00:42:50equally matched in terms of acceleration and outright speed

00:42:53the top three are just starting to creep away a bit here as well if brad ray's not able to get

00:43:03through on storm stacy sue could be losing points a bit like you said the bw's fast

00:43:09difficult it's got that speed yes it has yeah

00:43:17around turn 11 and now clicking it right into mavenmere turn 12 up towards 13 and 14 this

00:43:24right and left kink at hogar hyder is brad close enough now to have a look into the chicane

00:43:32he might force the move he has forced to move on the raceways yamaha does he get the bike stopped he does

00:43:37that's one chalked off for brad ray he's just got to try and keep stalk stacy behind him now yeah for

00:43:42a couple corners and then the job's done if he can do yes and he can do that should be enough i think

00:43:52brad then one more place gains but now he's got to try and reel in tommy and if brad ray's gonna win

00:43:58this race he's got a lot of work to do still from here i think this will be a big ass for him to win this

00:44:04not sure kyle would have expected to have led every single lap of this like this knowing what the

00:44:10pace of the other guys have been although to his credit in qualifying they did make a big step

00:44:15forward in fp3 yes it is they struggled fp1 fp2 uh they couldn't understand why the tweaks they were

00:44:21making to the bike that should have improved it or at least changed it didn't felt the same bike which is

00:44:27unusual but it's a fairly big changes for mp3 and immediately said the bike was better

00:44:34at the moment your championship leader leading here in assen but here comes this looks as close

00:44:40as leon's been for a couple of laps yeah just looked ever having a bit of a rush there didn't

00:44:44it scott reading in the wheel tracks as well it's here this is where that yamaha works really well there's

00:44:52tommy yep that's duke's loot i don't know what that means do you into me even mia then hoogie hide

00:45:00and then ramsuk i put uh duke's loot into a google translate which is not always reliable

00:45:10came out as diver's ditch okay

00:45:12this is close from leon haslam over the line we go now he's up alongside kyle ride and this time he

00:45:20will have i know he won't and if you looked you could see when the front brakes are applied by each

00:45:24rider when they see open when the front of the back dives and and kyle was definitely a couple of

00:45:29meters late or later

00:45:35we've just been told to know is that duper sleep is just a name it doesn't translate to anything so i don't

00:45:38know where i got my info from begs the question why they called it that then might be an old rider

00:45:46brad ray is falling back he's got through on storm stacy but he's not making progress on forward

00:45:52no he's not this is not the same sort of form that we saw at the start of the weekend and this

00:45:57could just be a bit of damage limitation here for brad last thing he wants is uh stone stacy to be able

00:46:03to have a bit of a bit and he's going through there is the net there you go back through for brad

00:46:09well storm topping it out yeah it's just not what brad needs this but thanks storms in his own race

00:46:15don't look impressive turn around at the front to the double right-hander there on the vein and duke

00:46:25schlute scott redding with the fastest lap of the race last time out of 36 flat there he is in third

00:46:32but he's not been able to get through on leon has them 36 flat as well not much yeah three hundredths of

00:46:37a second slower leon leon's just got it a little bit wrong there and that's cost him well oh i thought

00:46:44it might cost him second there now we start lap 10 of 14. you can't see that kyle's gonna hang on to this

00:46:53can you but he's not made any mistakes he's been hinged perfect everywhere and he's making them do

00:46:58the work yeah how difficult is it when you're used to hitting your lines to defend at every corner

00:47:06yeah i mean he's i haven't seen him he's seen him defending for a couple of laps now but when you are

00:47:11defending you know where to defend but you know it's going to cost you time so if you depend defend going

00:47:16into a corner it's going to cost you time coming out and you're leaving yourself more open and thereby

00:47:20having to do more defending at the next it's a lot easier just to think right fast lines fast lap

00:47:25and that's what he's doing i think he's he's not defended for a bit now and i think that's because

00:47:30he's thinking right i'm going to go as fast as i can let them catch me i mean this is this is a hot

00:47:34pace with the old black record of course before we came hit back here after six year absence was the 36

00:47:40um this um this this isn't it was 36 from haslam 363 and it's a 36 flat from reading is the fastest lap

00:47:49of the race so far but we have been here for that long it's difficult to tell i'm sure lap records have

00:47:54been brung other places it's difficult to tell what phase this is we saw 35s in qualifying in terms of

00:48:01the championship if car ride holds on to this this could be a massive turning point yeah not only that

00:48:06what i think confidence boost it would be going into alton park because brad hasn't got anything

00:48:12in this one brad's just trying to get through on storm stacy time pride was still there in four

00:48:16lingering 1.3 seconds back the two ducatis here though cannot get through on car ride that's the

00:48:22second time in rams hook i've seen uh leon lose the rear slightly noise fault just look back he's losing a

00:48:29little bit of grip at the back and just have to get off the throttle

00:48:36turn one we go through kyle rides it is that leads and i've just been reliably informed in my ears

00:48:47that divers ditch is correct it's the first time i've got anything right this weekend

00:48:53into the hairpin we go and the interesting thing is here scott reading seems to have just a bit

00:48:58a bit more speed but because he's up against another ducati he can't jump in a position yeah yeah i agree

00:49:03yep the gap back to bridewell 1.3 then storm stacy and brad ray are now 3.7 seconds adrift

00:49:13that chance of the podium and that's a long way back now yeah stacy and rick

00:49:21bride holds on to this it'll be one of his rides of the season yeah but two ducatis ganging up on him

00:49:26this is a huge battle going on uh further back it's that brooks intent all the way back to scott swan

00:49:33in 16. yep and that includes it oh reading's through yeah reading's gone true on leon haslam

00:49:42so now this is going to be interesting what can scott reading do because we're about to start lap 12 of 14.

00:49:48it's his turn and the laps are running out and he knows that he feels he's got more pace and

00:49:52possibly have a better go at having a go at your leader car ride

00:49:58fast going in as well that votes well for scott scott was here earlier this year of course with

00:50:03well super bikes yeah finished 15 won the races so he had pace this the pass yeah nicely set up that

00:50:09yeah that's uh into mandavine from devolt car identities on the not just competition yamaha

00:50:18that has the advantage scott reading though has now got a bit of daylight up ahead of him

00:50:22and can he reel in the championship leader i think he can and i think he thinks he can because

00:50:27he wouldn't have uh he wouldn't have tried to get past leon if not he'd have waited a little bit but

00:50:32i think he feels that he's got a good chance of having a go at kyle this is a chance for the

00:50:38ducati to stretch its legs a bit onto the vein slag and into turn six you can see there yeah

00:50:44he's got a lot of splitting them but a couple of tenths maybe yeah i think it looks fairly threatening

00:50:48he's a bit wide there it was a little bit wide wasn't it

00:50:53turn eight steckenvale neon haslam still there as well

00:50:59now into the bolt as it stands a 36 point lead for car ride going into autumn park

00:51:07yeah this is important you know every every point counts i mean i mean i don't think i'll be to

00:51:14understand what's going on here but looking at his laptop thinking come on then before you go

00:51:20scott close enough to engage on this lap and then you know to be accurate like kyle has to be

00:51:26you've got to be perfect everywhere not make a mistake not run wide not have to get off the

00:51:29throttle for going on the curbs really difficult where we come scott yeah he's going through scott

00:51:35reading there and on the hagen pbm ducati goes through on car ride oh and now they're three

00:51:41abreast because haslam's coming through as well that's put car ride on the wrong part of the circuit

00:51:46down into turn one hasler takes the lead scott reading in behind him scott nearly ran into the

00:51:50back of haslam ride settles for third i'm looking for kyle that this might just invite tommy bridewell if

00:51:58they keep playing games like this tommy bridewell's not too far off this battle so this is the

00:52:02penultimate lap of the race remember over the line reading it was that led from kyle ride but it's now

00:52:08haslam that has the advantage now kyle has to be clever here because if he's got again if he's

00:52:12gonna get the win here he needs to set something up difficult with the yamaha to put yourself in a

00:52:17position for a breaking move but he looks up ahead of him and he sees two riders that aren't in his

00:52:21championship yeah he does yeah agreed and he's a smart cookie we've seen that over the last two

00:52:27seasons when he's where he's in the championship time right well one and a half seconds back on

00:52:32knees it might just be too little too late unless this lot engage into the bulk once more on the

00:52:38penultimate lap haslam looking for his first win since the opening round of the season reading looking to

00:52:43make it two wins in a weekend now this is where kyle strong yes the exit here but i don't think he can

00:52:52do anything with it vote now for your rider of the round that will be a tough one to call given what

00:52:58we've seen so far this weekend but uh scan the qr code there and vote for your rider of the round

00:53:04and we will reveal who that is a bit later on scott reading is ready no no no we're back to start the

00:53:12final lap one of these three is taking the spoils and the glory here in assen with the sun finally

00:53:19shining and now already reading is looking to charge through into turn one he's up the inside now of

00:53:24haslam can he get the bike stopped he can a bit of a block pass and he's through yeah that'll help car ride

00:53:30though a little bit of a slide from leon haslam that's cost him a little bit

00:53:38reading had to work hard initially from the fifth row of the grid and that race got

00:53:43red flags he's boxed clever this afternoon on the hager tbm ducati

00:53:49leon haslam in second and that's a nice gap that scott's just opened up yeah that was helped by the fact

00:53:55that uh leon haslam and kyle ravers goblin and leon knows kyle's there so he's defending slightly

00:54:01and that is costing him a little bit of a lap time will kyle settle for third and just say do you know

00:54:07what i know i'm ahead of brad i don't think he's gonna have much choice here it's gonna be difficult

00:54:11to get by a ducati i don't think has them's close enough to make a move on reading either no he's gonna

00:54:17a mistake from the lads in front is going to give kyle a chance but i think that's the only thing as it

00:54:21stands he's set to increase his championship league going into the final two rounds of the season

00:54:26it's been a very good race from kyle nonetheless but scott reading has had the speed all weekend

00:54:32you almost feel it deserves this number four special one-off hager color scheme is about to be put

00:54:40here to the top step surely unless there's one last twist from leon haslam or from kyle ride the

00:54:45checkered flag is being made ready decent job this from scott reading two wins this weekend in assen for

00:54:51scott on the hager pbm ducati he takes the 25 points from haslam kyle ride that's big for his

00:54:58championship it's fourth for bridewell ray could not get back through though on storm stacy or canny on

00:55:04the line no stacy takes a solid fifth in the dry goodness me look at this lot nesbit seventh skinner in

00:55:12eighth fraser rogers comes over the line in ninth and taking tenth who is it it's anyone's guess it's

00:55:18glenn irwin just from cook kent jackson mcfee and brooks celebrations for hager pbm ducati though

00:55:28let's not forget back at donington winner and then three podiums as well winner yesterday here in assen

00:55:35scott reading and we believe he's going to be back next year and full-time championship he will be

00:55:44in that mix yeah he goes to a circuit he knows he's a threat isn't he he's still got an outside shot of

00:55:51the top three of the champion yeah he missed the opening three rounds uh yeah he came in at round

00:55:57four right okay yeah that not kill yeah came in that round four at not killing it was horrendous

00:56:03weather he struggled a little bit if i remember that was a baptism of fire it was won it

00:56:10that race did not go the way i thought it was going to go i'm not particularly surprised to see scott

00:56:14reading win because he's had the speed but i did think we'd see more from brad ray i agree with you

00:56:44speaking car ride could become champion at alton but that is so unlikely um he would have to win

00:56:50every race and brad not to score that is uh which isn't going to happen i think you've it's weird

00:56:59isn't it this british super bikes james if you'd have said at the start of the weekend to car ride

00:57:03you're going to be sixth you're going to be eighth and you're going to be third i think you'd have said

00:57:08i'm not sure if i like that but you're going to be extending your championship lead

00:57:12he'd take that he'd take that it's a long view man isn't it he's kyle well we'll just point out

00:57:17as well and i know he's not going to thank me for saying this but i thought i'd wait until he

00:57:21finished the last race that is can you believe this and this just tells you everything you need

00:57:24to know about car ride his 54th consecutive points finish yeah that is something else at british

00:57:33superbike level absolutely i can't tell you how impossibly uh yeah that's i can't believe you can do

00:57:39that i rather at that that this level could do that honestly and we're talking about that's not

00:57:44just uh you could hear that stat from someone that maybe plays it a bit safer here and there but we're

00:57:48talking about the champion and the championship leader you could believe that about somebody who

00:57:52goes club racing but even then that would be some achievement yeah but somebody at this level going

00:57:56as quick as he is leading a championship almost an impossibilities uh well done lab been a good

00:58:01weekend for leon yes it has you could argue he deserves a bit more but that's where they want to be

00:58:06battling continuously inside the top three and that's good for him in the championship as well

00:58:13that puts him back ahead of scott um rory skinner in third overall that's the position swapped a bit

00:58:20yes it has well just this weekend alone where's scott going over to the fans who um are opposite us

00:58:29here in the commentary box as well he's a proper showman isn't he scott yeah he's throwing his gloves

00:58:37i don't know that's a big throw is that you see how far i can get him up there there's mr siegel's

00:58:41after them look he's a strong lad though yeah he'll be right so fair i hope i'll barely be able to get

00:58:48that over the fence good job from scott

00:58:59big celebrations for scott reading as we said earlier in the weekend there's still no confirmation

00:59:03about where he goes for next year but we are reliably informed that he's definitely staying

00:59:07put it's just a matter of where you would point towards him staying at pbm ducati but no confirmation

00:59:13there is yet but it's good to have him back there is no doubt and when you look at some

00:59:18of the results he's had of late as well he's definitely a championship contender next season

00:59:24okay let's get the results and standings in for you then after the showdown here in asson scott

00:59:28reading wins five tenths clear in the end of leon haslam a really solid an important third for kyle

00:59:34ride with tommy bridewell fourth storm stacy fifth sixth is the best brad ray could manage there

00:59:39we'll pick the bones out of that one shortly nesbit was seventh then skinner rogers and glenn

00:59:44irwin tenth that was a big battle for 10th place that irwin managed to get on top of behind him

00:59:52there were point scoring finishes for max cook danny kentley jackson john mcfee and josh brooks

00:59:59so after 27 races it's 31 the difference between kyle ride and bradley ray heading into

01:00:11alton park leon haslan third moving back up ahead of rory skinner christian idden crashed in that one

01:00:17fifth after his win this morning some bridewell six then danny kent scott reading eight and you can

01:00:23see they're well in the mix for the top three josh brooks picked up a couple of points this weekend

01:00:27he's 11th in the series and storm stacy really good race there he's 12th

01:00:39scott reading victorious and the celebrations will start now and it's a good race for leon haslam and

01:00:46car ride too we'll hear from the three of them when we come back in a few minutes

01:00:48scott reading took two out of two the last time we were here at aslan back in 2019 his second two

01:01:00out of three this weekend one wet one dry brilliant performance from him but for kyle ride in terms of

01:01:06the championship the lead has been extended let's find out how he's feeling he's shaking thank you

01:01:12matt yeah down here with kyle ride kyle having a deep in conversation there with leon aslam

01:01:17kyle that looked like a race of uh two manufacturers to be honest uh there were parts of the track where

01:01:22you were strong there were parts where the jacattis were strong but uh you ended up on the podium you

01:01:26extended that championship lead how was your weekend at aslan yeah i mean the weekend's not been great for

01:01:31everyone uh phil for stewart it's my many red many red flags uh the weather's not been great so

01:01:36yeah that's off to him that's off to everyone that organized the whole weekend it's not been easy for

01:01:40everyone but yeah we've come out sunny in the sunday afternoon so it's been it's been a good day for

01:01:44me salvaged a few points uh for with me and brad in that wet race earlier and that race there i set

01:01:50off in pole and just tried to stretch everyone as much as i could to try and get a trophy to take home

01:01:54so uh yeah third uh i rode really good maybe to finish first or second but lost a bit of the front

01:01:59tire towards the end and uh struggled but yeah that's off to scott and leon first time here on a super

01:02:04bike how was it yeah good it was really good then i mean friday was difficult saturday we made a big

01:02:09change with the bike then we didn't get to try it in any race so to to get a solid race under our

01:02:13belts for that one was good 36 one first time out in a race on my own it was a good weekend thank you

01:02:18great john powell well done cheers mate thanks mate right in second place then he's just wandering in

01:02:22now just congratulating kyle leon aslan once again if you're fighting for a lead there in a in a race

01:02:27here at assen and uh ended up settling for second but uh a fantastic performance nonetheless yeah i definitely

01:02:33didn't say oh but it was one of them i knew we're a few laps to go which just started to back

01:02:36in on me and uh i thought i was in a good position but he put himself in the right place again and

01:02:41i duffed him up a few times at cadwell and he got me back then so uh yeah no um honestly i'm not too

01:02:46unhappy you know we could have easily won all three races this weekend i think we've got the most points

01:02:50out of everyone this weekend and uh yeah a couple more podiums and move on to ulton one of my favorite

01:02:54tracks a few issues for you into the second to last corner i saw towards the end of that race back

01:02:59bike backing in a little bit is that something you can fix going forward in the next races yeah we did have

01:03:03a button to free it up but it was going to free everywhere up and it's only the second gear

01:03:06corners i was struggling on the last few laps so uh yeah honestly uh i'm happy you know battling it

01:03:11for the win and uh we've had a tough spell a few races that we've just had a few little issues and

01:03:15it's nice to have a proper battle good job leon well done yes thank you right and race two winner he's

01:03:20just having a quick chat with kyle right out of camera uh coming in now scott reading talk about

01:03:26timing that to perfection um new livery for this weekend celebrating hager's uh hager's 70th anniversary

01:03:33i believe um what a delivery that was the cowboy baby and that was the comeback kid oh man today

01:03:40obviously with the weather this morning we had a bit of a a bad tire should we say i had no performance

01:03:46which then screwed me for this race but i got it between my teeth i did like donington last race i was

01:03:51like i really gotta win this race but i controlled it a bit better i went off that first part of the

01:03:56race like a scolded cat and i just thought i gotta move up and the red flag came for me for no reason

01:04:01it was a bit of rain i was like come on got a restart i thought at least i'm eight for now i was thinking

01:04:05i'll know the tire in and out i thought well i got nothing to lose and she was loose but i could see

01:04:10that leon was struggling a little bit with the same thing so i thought i'm doing the same lap time i got a

01:04:15bit more he was riding defensive but i just thought i got a win in these colors like whatever i do i have to

01:04:20win and to be honest i thought i had one more lap so i was lucky that i got the job done when i did

01:04:25and i felt as a rider being able to overtake better this week someone i've worked on that's been a weak

01:04:30point but i've definitely upped my game there so a massive thank you pbm team hager for the anniversary

01:04:36we've done so much this weekend and thanks for all the fans cheering me absolutely fantastic job

01:04:40well done scott thank you and now i can breathe

01:04:42yeah for all that he's achieved in his career it still means so much to him to go racing and to

01:04:50win he's been on the box here in moto to uh moto gp world super bikes and uh that's as happy as as

01:04:57i've probably ever seen him yeah i mean he's a racer he's a winner there's no feeling like winning and

01:05:01also he's such a great showman he's so good for the championship you know when he comes in and he's

01:05:05getting the crowd going and you know and he had a lot of work to do in that race he had to come

01:05:11through work his way through leon's never hard to pass you know never easy to pass same as kyle and

01:05:17he got there and you heard him say he actually misjudged it by a lap this is him coming through

01:05:22on tommy for for fourth earlier earlier on and then he makes the move on uh on storm stacy who had a

01:05:28good ride and uh you know he just he it was like he he timed it to these laws everywhere yeah he did

01:05:35yeah i thought he wrote a perfect race there knew how much time he had left even though he says he

01:05:39missed the last lap uh so that was a bit fortunate but i think he looked like he had the pace and he

01:05:45he relied on the fact he had the pace he knew he come he was confident at the end but you know that

01:05:50the bsp thing is happy because there's a lot of reason for that he's back in bsp he said he loves the

01:05:56idea that if you want to go a bit quicker that's in your hand it's as a rider you can actually risk

01:06:01a bit more and hope it sticks and hope it works and that's he loves the idea he said it will super

01:06:07bike you just don't get that now if you haven't got the setup and the data man and the electronics with

01:06:12you the rider can't make that much difference and wherever you are whatever championship you're in

01:06:17there's no feeling like this is there i imagine top step of the podium steve yeah absolutely great scenes

01:06:24here typical the sun's out now it's absolutely beautiful kyle ride that could be the most

01:06:29important third place of his season as we said racking up these consistent finishes is why he is

01:06:34where he is and that is his 58th bsp podium 122 up for leon haslam but as matt just said the man who's

01:06:43been on the world superbike podium here a moto gp podium in 2016 a double win in bsp he was a double winner

01:06:52the last time we came here as well and it's all smiles for the comeback kid here in assen top step

01:07:00joy for him and he'll put smiles on faces of hager that's for sure and bruce himself picks up a trophy

01:08:08we have as steve says six races left to enjoy in 2025 but when you think about 26 already we've got

01:08:14kyle ride brad ray's just been confirmed on a yamaha looks like scott's going to be back as well and a

01:08:19ducati talk about ryan vickers coming back as well yeah it's looking good isn't it yeah and this is

01:08:24the year when we're all worried about what was going to happen a couple of teams leaving now we've

01:08:27got a couple of new teams coming in why wouldn't you want scott reading on your bike just is a

01:08:32benefit for the championship for me yeah look he's world class isn't he yeah he is yeah yeah

01:08:37well like he's just entertaining like james said yeah i mean he loves it he's a showman he's just

01:08:43something different isn't he he's his own spice and yeah we we love that it's uh yeah the sports

01:08:49needs characters wants characters and he's not only fast but he's a proper character yeah it was great

01:08:55to see in terms of the championship kyle ride just leaks out a few more points you know over the course

01:09:00of the whole weekend over brad ray yeah i got it up to what were it 36 back to uh 28 and then up to

01:09:06started at 28 he's gone backwards forwards a bit and announced up to 32 i think but this is perfect for

01:09:12kyle kyle will be really pleased with that he's just a big picture man he hasn't he hasn't not

01:09:17finished the race for so long now i don't know what the stats are for and that at this level going that

01:09:22fast is unbelievable man i can't tell you how difficult that is we i never managed anywhere

01:09:27near that neither did you it's so difficult when you're pushing on and that's what's going to win

01:09:31in the championship if he wins a championship putting all the pressure on his rival the whole time

01:09:36he hasn't dropped the ball in 54 races it feels like he would need to do that now if brad's actually

01:09:41going to catch him over this last six yeah very much i mean he's been riding superbly there's no

01:09:46two ways about it that was an amazing performance again and you know it's it's funny because at the

01:09:52points in the wet you thought oh this is going to be a big loss and then he comes through says fast

01:09:56that puts himself in bowl he's always keeping himself in there however you know you've got to

01:10:01say this part of the year you know we're going into october there is going to be the chances of wet

01:10:06damp snowy races and that is still if he does have one weakness that's still here so

01:10:12yeah but the thing is though he's got an eighth and a six in in the wet here this week and then

01:10:16exactly i think well don't get me wrong he's not listen i'm not right you can see what he does but

01:10:20all i'm saying is he's absolutely bulletproof nearly everywhere that is one thing how are you

01:10:25going to get points back off him well that could be one of one of the ways all right let's find out if

01:10:29brad ray's got a plan then he's with shaky yeah brad um daniel bradley sorry matt and the boys were

01:10:36just talking about the fact that you might need a plan now going forward brad that looked like a

01:10:39really tough race um got stuck in there behind storm stacy tell us all about it yeah it was tricky um

01:10:46starting from from seventh on the grid and i got caught up a little bit in the first opening laps and

01:10:51the group got away straight away i tried to to get into the rhythm to to bring them back but um

01:10:56yeah got to about mid-race and just didn't have any anything left from the bike to to be able to

01:11:02go forward and uh yeah a bit of a shame because all weekend we've had uh all right pacing in the

01:11:08in the dry and i just needed to to get through to that group but uh it is what it is uh we finished

01:11:13the race got some more points um after yesterday um it's nice to to finish today's two races and uh

01:11:20we'll regroup and go again at ulton all to pass good track for you you've done well there

01:11:24especially at the beginning of the season brand's actual finale how are you feeling

01:11:27overall now going forward yeah good yeah um it's all to play for there's 31 points in it um there's

01:11:32six races to go a lot of points up for grabs so uh we'll keep fighting until the end and we'll

01:11:37give it our all as always by all accounts you only need free to do that cheers mate thanks

01:11:45yeah i mean he he's trying to stay positive and he can sense the disappointment in his voice though

01:11:50this is not the first time we've seen him start a weekend really strong poll record and then it just

01:11:54doesn't end with the amount of points that you you know exactly that and i think he came here knowing

01:11:58he had a slight advantage certainly early in the weekend over his rival kyle because kyle had been

01:12:03here on a superbike so he was going to be learning how to ride it around here and it just hasn't worked

01:12:08out that way and i think he knows now he goes in and yes he's got good pace he's had good pace

01:12:12everywhere but he's got to turn that into really taking points off kyle and that hasn't happened

01:12:16do you no and it just it could have easily flipped another way first race obviously does he you know

01:12:21high sides he he puts it off at the back foot and he kind of ends up he is where he is okay well

01:12:26another rider who's had a real mixed weekend was christian idon but it ends on a high as the fans

01:12:30rider of the round christian what way to end your ass on weekend it's such an up and down weekend

01:12:37now quite literally talk to us about the crash yeah i don't really know what happened to be fair i

01:12:41think maybe i just haven't warmed the tire enough on the on the restart because i just folded front

01:12:45without any any real warning but you know my mistake i'll take it um but it was nice to be

01:12:50up the front when it happened so it's all good to be fair though a fifth a fifth place in one of the

01:12:53races your first win of the season in one of the others you've got to be over the moon with that

01:12:57surely yeah absolutely peaking i'd take uh i'd take a win in a and a tumble any day over over the results

01:13:03we've been having so yeah super pumped and uh yeah big thanks to the team for it for all our hard work

01:13:07well not only the uh team have done a load of hard work but the fans have done a load of voting you have

01:13:11been awarded awarded the bennett's rider around for this this round here at ass and fantastic job
