The United States war on "drug cartels" from Venezuela was one of the issues addressed by President Trump during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
00:00They're the enemies of all humanity. For this reason, we've recently begun using the supreme power of the United States military to destroy Venezuelan terrorists and trafficking networks led by Nicolas Maduro.
00:17The declaration by United States President Donald Trump as he addressed the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Just one day earlier, Venezuela's Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino Lopez, announced on his social media in English that following instructions from President Maduro, Venezuela has activated Operation Comando Goto 200.
00:41Venezuela's Defense Minister then said, quote, we leave with 60 rapid reaction units to State Secreia, our Eastern Caribbean. We move forward in the frontline fight against drug trafficking and all the plagues coming from Trinidad and Tobago, end quote.
00:57This follows Venezuela's warning last week to Trinidad and Tobago following the Twin Island Republic government's support for the deployment of U.S. military elements in international waters near Venezuela as part of what the U.S. says is its war on drug cartels.
01:13President Trump was clear on where the U.S. is convinced illegal drugs flowing through the Caribbean to the United States are coming from.
01:21There aren't too many boats that are traveling on the seas by Venezuela. They tend not to want to travel very quickly anymore. And we've virtually stopped drugs coming into our country by sea. We call them the water drugs. They kill hundreds of thousands of people.
01:40I've also designated multiple savage drug cartels as far as foreign terrorist organizations, along with two bloodthirsty transnational gangs, probably the worst gangs anywhere in the world, MS-13 and Trend de Aragua. Trend de Aragua is from Venezuela, by the way.
01:59So far, there have been four U.S. military strikes on boats that the U.S. says were carrying drugs from Venezuela that have resulted in the deaths of who President Trump has identified as narco-terrorists.
02:11To every terrorist thug smuggling poisonous drugs into the United States of America, please be warned that we will blow you out of existence. That's what we're doing. We have no choice. Can't let it happen. They're destroying. I believe we lost 300,000 people last year to drugs.
02:29300,000. Fentanyl and other drugs. Each boat that we sink carries drugs that would kill more than 25,000 Americans. We will not let that happen.
02:42In expressing the government of Trinidad and Tobago's full support for the U.S. declared war on drug cartels in the region, Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Bissessa has said that she has, quote,
02:52no sympathy for traffickers. The U.S. military should kill them all violently, end quote.
