00:04peculiar by the minute here two weeks before Kawhi Leonard's first no-show payment you may

00:09have heard about this via Pablo Torre Los Angeles Clippers apparently made a 21 million dollar

00:14payment to aspiration in a deal that was signed off by the team CFO that's a lot of money for

00:20the Clippers not to know that that's actually happening NBA currently investigating the Clippers

00:24investigating the owner and Kawhi Leonard to determine if the Clippers tried to circumvent

00:29the salary cap by paying Kawhi Leonard to do a no-show job by the way the Clippers have released

00:34a statement today saying that the Steve Ballmer situation was basically a dupe saying that he

00:41got duped on the reported 118 million dollar investment into this company called aspiration

00:46Clippers say that the payments were made to aspiration until the company was unable to fulfill

00:52their responsibilities now here's the interesting part the full statement also says that Ballmer and

00:59his family are focused on sustainability and that's why the dome that they play in was designed to be

01:04a carbon neutral building from its inception and to achieve lead zero status over time whatever that is

01:11LED status so basically they're trying to make the arena more carbon friendly more environment friendly

01:19that's what this company aspiration apparently was supposed to do but why Kawhi Leonard would be

01:24involved in this still remains to be seen so the investigation continues all right let's get to the

01:28latest tonight in the National Football League pretty big spread one of the biggest of the season thus

04:50and coaches in college football also Colorado uh making another quarterback switch they're going to

04:55start Caden Salter this week against Wyoming it has not been a good start of the season

04:59for uh Colorado and their wins and losses would represent that also Mike Elko gave really good

05:05news today about their injury to their player Bryce Anderson he avoided a catastrophic injury the game

05:12was delayed for about 15 minutes on Saturday night looks like he's going to be okay return later this

05:17season all right in Major League Baseball Padres keep winning Mets keep losing that's kind of the story

05:21Juan Soto had a chance to tie it late in the game he lined out Manny Machado hit a grand slam

05:25seven to four the final Padres are in all likelihood going to make the postseason they're

05:30on the doorstep now just a couple of more wins Mets are probably going to need some wins at the end

05:39five to one in 11 innings to the Giants Giants still very much alive in the race so are the Diamondbacks

05:46the big story from this one was Justin Verlander he threw seven innings of three hit ball no

05:51forward runs and also announced that he's going to come back for another season where he plays

05:56remains to be seen yeah it feels nice um you know obviously uh I think you know being my 20th year

06:06um I can only recall a few that kind of went the way you want from start to finish um I can also recall

06:13a few that were um very difficult for most of the year um just being one of those um you know I think

06:21uh kind of a relentlessness to find your way out of it and just never kind of give in and try to always

06:29adapt um has has helped me tremendously and um you know obviously would like to finish strong I got a

06:37couple more left um but um you know it's uh in a weird way a bit a bit more vindicating you know

06:45and um because you put in that much work you know every day

06:50Verlander probably gets another one-year deal I would guess next year all right Cincinnati Reds

06:56they're staying alive in the playoff race hasn't been a good run for them in September but they

06:59beat the Cardinals last night six to two also Blake Snell looking good heading into the postseason

07:04seven shutout innings Shohei Otani also hit a home run five to nothing the final there the Yankees get

07:10two more home runs from Trent Grisham having a career season now 33 on the year wow Yankees pass the

07:17twins 10 to 5 that was the final score there the Red Sox walk off the A's in 10 innings so they keep
