00:00check in now with Rochelle for our weather forecast. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago it's
00:06time for your weather. Today the Trinidad and Tobago Met Office issued an adverse weather
00:12alert number two yellow level for western Trinidad and the Gulf of Paria which has now been
00:18discontinued. Here's what happened. Locally heavy showers and thunderstorms affected western
00:25coastal Trinidad with heavy to violent rainfall rays being recorded in parts of Port of Spain
00:31and San Fernando. So you're probably wondering what's causing all of this? Well according to
00:37the Met Office these conditions are associated with typical rainy season conditions. The ODPM
00:44recorded flooding caused by the adverse weather in these listed areas of the Port of Spain City
00:50Corporation, the San Fernando City Corporation and the Pinal Debe Regional Corporation. In
00:56situations like these persons are advised to secure loose outdoor objects, motorists and residents
01:02in areas prone to flooding or landslides should mean alert and exercise caution. Be aware of your
01:08surroundings and changing weather conditions and stay informed with the latest updates. Now moving
01:15on to conditions in Port of Spain presently, TV6's weather center says downtown is partly cloudy with
01:20temperatures at 26 degrees Celsius. We have winds coming northeast at 1 knot and humidity is at 90 percent.
01:27So what can we expect tonight? Are we getting more rain? Well the Met Office says tomorrow will be
01:34mostly fair but expect some brief isolated showers. So to answer your question, yes but just enough to put you in a deep
01:43cozy sleep. Minimum temperatures are 24 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago. If you're hoping that
01:50conditions will be any better tomorrow compared to earlier today, the Met Office says tomorrow's long
01:56sunny spells would be interrupted by isolated light to moderate late morning to afternoon showers.
02:03There's a medium chance some of these showers could become heavy and or thundery, mainly near western and
02:10northwestern areas of Trinidad. So please walk with your umbrellas. Maximum temperatures are 33 degrees in
02:17Trinidad and 32 in Tobago. Now let's look ahead at our two day forecast. Both Wednesday and Thursday will
02:26give us fair conditions that will eventually become party cloudy at times from late morning to afternoon
02:33with few isolated light to moderate showers. There's a chance of the isolated afternoon thunderstorm
02:39favoring southern and western areas. So it's going to be a very wet week. Maximum temperatures are 33
02:47degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago for both Wednesday and Thursday. Now with all the rain expected,
02:55let's see what our seas are looking like. Tomorrow's seas are moderate with waves up to 2 meters in open
03:00waters and up to 1 meter in sheltered areas. Taking a look at our sun times now, sunrise is at 5.55 in Trinidad
03:09and it was set at 6.05. Over in Tobago, however, sunrise is at 5.52 and it was set at 6.03. Now for your
03:17tide times.
03:29That's all for weather tonight. Stay safe, stay dry and stay right where you are because there's more news when we come back.
