00:04Chairman of the Tunapunapiyako Regional Corporation, Josiah Austin, maintains the manner in which
00:09the project has unfolded is grossly disrespectful.
00:12He states that the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation wrote to the Urban Development
00:17Corporation.
00:19We were requesting a meeting and we requested 10 a.m. on Monday and that was declined and
00:26we've since asked for another meeting at their discretion and we await and we hope that
00:32they will meet and it's really like a neighbor of yours comes into your yard, builds in your
00:39yard and you're begging for a meeting.
00:41In addition, Austin states that a five-day notice of violation was served.
00:46We are now in a process where we have been recommended legal action so we may be going
00:54that route of legal action because, I mean, at this time, it's how many days, at least
01:01five, six days past the time we've asked them to comply and we're just asking for basic consultation.
01:07As I've continued to say, we are all for this.
01:11There are other parts of the region where this is taking place and we have not stopped.

01:24Conflicting information is now public pertaining to the posts being built on National Gas Company
01:30lines.
01:30The TPRC first stated this, but over the weekend, NGC claimed the lines were not active.
01:37Austin is now suggesting something else, saying NGC began doing works over the said weekend.
01:43And they were looking on Saturday morning to find out where the lines are.
01:48They started work on Saturday, finished about 6 p.m. and came today to cover those lines,
01:54I understand, that run from further west of us, all the way to the gas station, further east.
02:02Through that site, there were CNG lines there and they blew it out, as you know, it's compressed
02:08gas.
02:09So they had to open out, blow it out, they dug 68 feet deep and did their works over the
02:15weekend.
02:16Austin tells us the TPRC will be probing that further, saying the flags NGC initially placed
02:23around the site were also removed.
02:25According to the corporation, the space used for the post was airmarked to widen the car
02:30park and another part of the grounds could have been utilized, which consultation would have
02:36allowed to be ventilated.
02:37Austin believes there is a fight by government against local government.
02:43They're disrespecting the corporations and what we had proposed in the past is now nothing.
02:48They're weakening the arms of local government and for, on behalf of all 14 corporations, this
02:53is a stance against what they're doing.
02:55The TPRC maintains that senior law enforcement officers have stated that they were unaware of
