00:03Let's make this a fashion face-off.
00:06Teeth and claws are out.
00:08, the fashion face-off of the two blondes.
00:11I'm going to kick her ass.
00:12What would you give his?
00:13A five.
00:13A five?
00:14If I'm a five, she's somewhere in the negative.
00:16My lady owns the estate.
00:18Josh's lady is a guest.
00:19It's free-spirited and feminine, light.
00:30It's good, I have to say.
00:31I like the feathers.
00:32You have such a good way of making it young and fresh.
00:36Anthony Ryan is the winner of this challenge.
00:38It's neither sexy nor sensual.
00:41It's poorly made.
00:42With the fur, it went like cavewoman or something.
00:45No girl wants to look bigger on the hip.
00:47Your model is looking enormous.
00:49One of you will be going home tonight.
00:51Laura Kathleen, you're out.
00:5613 of the best designers from Project Runway are back.
01:00Back for more.
01:01Back for blood.
01:02Admit it, you missed them.
01:04And this time, the competition is tougher than ever.
01:08This is war.
01:10Each week, their skills are tested to the limit.
01:13Hideous or fabulous.
01:15This is not a game.
01:16Nothing gets past me.
01:18Who will be cut?
01:19And who will have it all sewn up?
01:21This is Project Runway All Stars.
01:25The winning designer will have the chance to create a custom branded capsule collection with
01:28Nine West.
01:29The winner will also receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine and a position as
01:33contributing editor for one year.
01:35From Laura Mercier, an all-expenses-paid trip around the world to Fashion Week such as Paris,
01:41London, Milan, and Tokyo.
01:43A technology suite and office space from HP and Intel to bring their creativity to life
01:47and run their business.
01:49A sewing and embroidery studio from Brothers Sewing and Embroidery to help launch their line.
01:53And a cash prize of $150,000.
01:55We're on Fifth Avenue and I'm like, oh Lord, I've never been here before.
02:08Fifth Ave is home to humongous fashion houses, flagship stores.
02:13It's home-based to so many high-end retailers.
02:16But look, Project Runway All Stars!
02:20Fantastic.
02:21Eli Tahari is one of the biggest forces in fashion right now.
02:25He has a huge design studio on Fifth Avenue.
02:29The whole building is so crisp and clean and airy and light and it's amazing.
02:34Good morning, designers.
02:36Good morning, Carolyn.
02:37Good morning, Carolyn.
02:38Only five of you are left in the competition to win the biggest prize in Project Runway
02:42history.
02:43Yay.
02:44You showed us some amazing runway looks, but a true all-star must design for retail as
02:51well, for ready-to-wear fashion.
02:53Right.
02:54All right.
02:55Ready-to-wear is something that would be purchased by the masses and a bit more consumer-friendly.
03:01It has to be able to please a lot of people.
03:04Your client is a designer celebrating 40 years as a major force in the fashion industry.
03:11His collections are known for their understated grace and elegance and have a presence on five
03:16continents and over 600 U.S. stores.
03:19Wow.
03:20Please welcome Eli Tahari.
03:21Yes!
03:22Woo-hoo!
03:23Hi, Carolyn.
03:24Hi, Carolyn.
03:25Hi.
03:26Welcome to All Stars.
03:27Thank you so much for having us here.
03:30Welcome, designers.
03:33Designers, your challenge is to take ready-to-wear to the next level and create a wow look.
03:39We catering to a modern, sophisticated, and feminine lady.
03:45You'll be working towards the most important number in business, the retail price.
03:50Your designs, fabrics, embellishments, and the amount of work it takes to manufacture them
03:55must be at a low enough cost so when it's sold for between $500 to $700, you actually
04:02make a profit.
04:03Okay.
04:04So, Eli, what's the prize for the winner of this challenge?
04:07We're going to manufacture the garment, feature it in our windows.
04:12Wow.
04:13It's going to be sold in all our stores and ellietahari.com.
04:17Wow.
04:18Wow.
04:19And the best part, the profits will go to the charity Save the Garment Center.
04:26That is really awesome.
04:28Last season, Mondo's winning dress raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for this charity.
04:33This is All Stars 2.0.
04:35You can top that, right?
04:36Yes.
04:37Eli's team is on hand to make sure that the design and fabric you choose hits that retail
04:43price.
04:44The fabric storage shelf floor below here and you can choose anything you want.
04:49Oh, my God.
04:50Wow.
04:51Now, we will be joining Joanna Coles in the workroom to help mentor you through the challenge.
04:57And we'll both see you on the runway to view your ready-to-wear looks.
05:00Awesome.
05:01This challenge is all about business and commerce.
05:04So, our long-term partners, HP and Intel, are providing you with their premium technology
05:09to help you in these final challenges.
05:12So, take your HP tablets and briefs and get to sketching.
05:15Good luck.
05:20This is unbelievable.
05:21This is amazing.
05:22Such a beautiful building.
05:24It's so gorgeous.
05:25This is how it's gonna be one day, no?
05:28I hope so.
05:29Uli and I have a corner office overlooking Fifth Avenue and I feel like I'm in fashion heaven
05:35right now just sketching.
05:37Ready to wear.
05:38No feathers.
05:39No feathers.
05:40I'm thinking of doing a vest and a dress that works for different figures.
05:44I'm trying also to do something different.
05:46There's gonna be no trimmings, no fringe, but ready to wear.
05:52I decided to do a really cute short dress with a color blocking combo because I know that
05:57Ali Tahari is very famous for that.
05:59I am a ready to wear designer.
06:01So, having been on the bottom three times, maybe perhaps I could be on the top on this
06:05one.
06:06I'm very excited as a designer.
06:07Ready to wear is your meat and potatoes.
06:10It's where you make your money.
06:11I'm not just a fashion designer.
06:13I like to have a successful business.
06:15I wonder what colors they have downstairs.
06:17I know, that's what I'm wondering too.
06:21It's like a playground.
06:22I know.
06:23We get to go to Ali Tahari's fabric floor and pick our fabrics from there.
06:27Anything that you would want, they've got it.
06:32I've decided to do a dress and I really want it to be very modern.
06:37It's cool.
06:38I find this beautiful wild fabric, but it's such a large scale that if it's not placed
06:45right, it's gonna make the woman look bigger.
06:47And no woman wants to look bigger.
06:49That is very pretty.
06:50This is nice.
06:51But that's probably expensive.
06:57I like that.
06:58Should we take it?
06:59Yes.
07:01I don't normally work with prints, but I'm really inspired by this print that Ali Tahari
07:04has.
07:05I'm really hoping that I can do him justice.
07:06Is there a navy organza?
07:08I'm designing a straightforward, classic dress that a lot of women can wear.
07:13Fabric selection is everything when you're doing ready to wear, because everything is
07:18priced to the penny.
07:20I pick a less expensive silk and a mustard color.
07:24I know my clients always want color from me.
07:27This is pretty.
07:28I'm choosing this magenta.
07:31This color coming down the runway will definitely be wow.
07:36After we pick fabric, we head over to the cutting room section for our price consultation.
07:42These are my fabrics.
07:43Okay.
07:44And I want to use this trim with.
07:46Okay.
07:47Are those within my budget?
07:49Yes, I think the silks will work nicely within our retail price point.
07:53Perfect.
07:54I'd like to have the bottom of the skirt in the printed fabric.
07:57Right.
07:58Look at the repeat.
07:59You might want to use one whole repeat.
08:01Yeah, I like that.
08:02This looks great.
08:03You're good to go.
08:04I wanted to see if I can make a dress and a little vest.
08:07Two separate pieces.
08:08Yes.
08:09Okay.
08:10The vest might take us a little over the price point.
08:12And the dress would definitely fit within the retail price structure.
08:15To hit the price point, I have to drop the vest.
08:18And that's fine with me because the fabric's just so amazing.
08:21This is a nice fabric because it has a lot of nice stretch.
08:23I'm thinking the black would slim in on the sides.
08:25On the sides, which is also very nice.
08:27I like the color that's in here.
08:28And this always retails for us and could really be right on mark with our retail price point.
08:33Do you think that I'm still within the price point that we need to be?
08:36Yes.
08:37I think for the target retail, this lace would work.
08:39All right.
08:40Well, I think we have our final selection.
08:42Perfect.
08:44Bye-bye.
08:45Good luck.
08:53That was fun.
08:54Yeah.
08:55That was fun.
08:56Let's see what we got here.
08:59Because of the fabric that I chose, I decided to modify my design.
09:03I really want to make sure that the main feature is this great fabric.
09:07Oh, it's like a tree line.
09:09Yeah.
09:10Yeah, it looks like that, right?
09:11That's beautiful.
09:12I don't really want to cut up the panel, so I decided to do a maxi length dress.
09:18And use the entire panel and just still do the color blocking technique that Eli Tahari is famous for.
09:23I never see you work in prints, really.
09:24I know.
09:25This is a challenge.
09:26This is interesting for you, right?
09:27Yeah, it is.
09:28It'll be a challenge.
09:29This dress, I really wanted to show the judges more of what I can do with prints.
09:34This is going to be the print.
09:36So I'm going to keep with that elongated line.
09:39So for me to bring that wow factor, I'm really going to use the fabrics in a smart way.
09:43I'm just going to cut what I need from it, not just using all of the same patterns.
09:48Such a fantastic fabric.
09:50Damn, why did I grab white?
09:53What did I do?
09:54What was I thinking?
09:55I wasn't thinking clearly.
09:57Everybody chose a color or a print.
10:00Again, here I am with white.
10:02Wearing it, I love it.
10:04But on the runway, it's probably smarter to use a color.
10:07Just white?
10:08Is this the only fabric?
10:10Uli is doing white again.
10:12The use of color, I think, is 50% of any challenge.
10:17Color excites people.
10:19The judges respond to color.
10:21So I don't know how this is going to work for her.
10:23Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
10:26I'm having trouble today.
10:27It'll be interesting to see what she does.
10:28That's the nice way of saying it.
10:29I just feel really discouraged.
10:30You have to fight.
10:31You're not a loser.
10:32This week's challenge is to produce a ready-to-wear look that really wiles the judges and is inspired by the Eli Tahari woman.
10:39Not only will Eli Tahari produce and manufacture the dress, but he will also put the dress within his stores and on his website.
10:49And all of the proceeds from the challenge will go to Save the Garment Center here in New York.
10:54How are you doing?
10:55Just worried about the white on the runway.
10:56No, stop it.
10:57When I picked the fabric, I wasn't thinking, oh, runway, bright color.
11:01Because I'm using a white fabric and everybody else is using color, my dress is not going to pop as well.
11:08So I really have to think of some interesting design details that gives the judges the wow factor.
11:20But I'm definitely having trouble today.
11:22It looks like a rack.
11:25It looks like a rack.
11:26It doesn't look like a rack.
11:31It doesn't look like a rack.
11:33It looks like a rack.
11:34It does look like a rack.
11:35I'm having a headless.
11:36Avanas.
11:37It doesn't look good anymore.
11:39I'm not really sure how Uli will do with this challenge.
11:42She likes to do a lot of low cut, a lot of chiffon.
11:44So it'll be interesting to see what she does.
11:48That's the nice way of saying it.
11:49That's amazing.
11:51Yeah, thanks.
11:52Your style lines are great.
11:54I like the direction that Joshua is going
11:56with the fuchsia and the lace.
11:58But we'll see what it comes out to,
12:00because I know Josh's issue is with editing.
12:04It's a lot of pink.
12:06Color, that's my thing.
12:08I don't care what you make, just make it in color.
12:10The most important element of this dress
12:12is the color blocking, the gold and the orange,
12:15and how I'm using the burgundy to separate the color.
12:18I'm going to use burgundy at the waist.
12:20This is nice.
12:21And then do the exposed zipper, maybe.
12:24I'll wait till Mr. Tahari comes here, see what he thinks.
12:33Hi, designers.
12:34Hi, Joanna.
12:35Hi.
12:36Thrilled to have Ellie with me for the ready-to-wear challenge,
12:39which is a difficult challenge.
12:41But the good news is the money created from the item sold
12:45will go to Save the Garment Center.
12:47We're a double act today, so Ellie is
12:49going to put his two-penny worth in, too.
12:52Awesome.
12:53Hi, Joanna.
12:54Ivy, hi.
12:55Hi, Ivy.
12:55Hi.
12:56It's such an honor to meet you.
12:57Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you.
12:58Tell me about your choice of fabric.
13:01I thought it was an ombre charmeuse.
13:03And when they pulled out the bolt,
13:05it was this magnificent landscape.
13:08Definitely feminine.
13:09It's definitely modern.
13:10Is that good for ready-to-wear?
13:12It's bold.
13:13You have a lot of guts to do it.
13:15This is smart to use this part of the print.
13:18But when the print gets too much,
13:20if I had a dress up to here, could be a nice summer piece.
13:25Actually, I really loved the print,
13:27so I didn't want to cut it off anywhere.
13:29And I figured, depending on the customer,
13:31she could hem it to the desired length she wanted to.
13:33I do not want a designer who thinks that I'm then
13:37prepared to take the dress to the tailor.
13:39That feels to me like a lazy designer.
13:43And what happens here?
13:45I'm glad you asked that.
13:47I'm not me.
13:48With me, you would imagine it might just be open.
13:50Right, except I wouldn't dry, yeah.
13:52No, I'm thinking about just the crew neck.
13:54It's going to look more plain.
13:57Yeah, more plain in the front.
13:58But then right now, I'm working with the back.
14:01And there will be an exposed zipper
14:02underneath the entire thing.
14:04Think about the woman wearing it.
14:06Question how comfortable she feels to dress a fuchsia lace,
14:10a fuchsia dress.
14:11It's a lot going on.
14:12It's beautiful, the color.
14:14But the lace takes it somewhere else.
14:16The first thing that comes to mind when I think pink lace,
14:19it just reminds me of the Playboy Mansion.
14:22If Ellie thinks that this is too much,
14:24you need to listen to him.
14:26Talk to us a little bit about your design.
14:28Well, I wanted to create a color-blocked dress,
14:32make it very exciting in the front, doing the top and the bottom
14:34different colors.
14:36But then when you see it in the back,
14:38it's all solid in the gold.
14:40And I wanted to accentuate the style lines with the grosgrain ribbon.
14:43I think that's an interesting color combination.
14:46I think it's hard to wear.
14:48Simple color, basic, it's much easier to wear.
14:51So you feel that the back is stronger than the front?
14:54Yes, definitely.
14:55Thank you so much, sir.
14:56For your future, take care.
14:57Yes, thank you.
14:59Good luck.
15:00Uli meet Ellie, Ellie meet Uli.
15:02What's your first reaction?
15:05As a fabric, is it very heavy for somebody
15:09to wear all that fabric?
15:11Also, from the side, if you look at it like that,
15:14she looks enormous.
15:15Mm-hmm.
15:16I started out with more simple, but then I'm
15:19afraid that it's too simple because I'm
15:22doing a white dress which already doesn't stand out
15:25on the runway.
15:26She got fear.
15:27She said, I was doing it, and then I got afraid.
15:30And that's when you took the wrong road.
15:32Thank God they came by because, you know,
15:35I got a good direction.
15:36Who wants to look bigger on their bottom?
15:39Nobody.
15:40Talk to us about your design.
15:42I wanted to make it a little bit casual.
15:44Like, I could see anyone from, like, say,
15:46the editor of a magazine wearing it to work,
15:49but something that was still forward and expensive enough,
15:51say, to wear after work.
15:54The print is doing quite a lot of the work for you, isn't it?
15:57You're getting creative with it, which is great.
15:59I put pockets in it.
16:01If you put pockets in, does it
16:03make it more expensive to produce?
16:05Marginally, but it's a question of value.
16:07What do you gain?
16:08The gain is bigger than the cost.
16:11Now, what he needs to think about is what shape this is here
16:16to give the lady the best hip.
16:18Which is a challenge.
16:19I think challenge is like, when things are easy,
16:23we get to be relaxed, and we get lazy.
16:27When you grow up and everything you are a fight for,
16:31your rights fight for truth, and fight for love, food,
16:37you appreciate it more.
16:39And when you appreciate it more, the blessing is bigger.
16:42And everything is appreciation.
16:45Every little bit is appreciation.
16:47Oh, my God, I feel moved.
16:49I mean, I'm never moved.
16:51And this is quite a moving talk.
16:52You look moved, too.
16:53Eli Tahari is a huge force in fashion.
16:56And for him to be very personal and humble and soft-spoken,
17:01I really found that really cool about him.
17:03Designers, I have felt so inspired today,
17:07both by Eli and by your work.
17:10I just want to wish you good luck tomorrow.
17:12All from love and no fear.
17:16Thank you, Eli.
17:17OK, bye, guys.
17:18Bye.
17:19Bye.
17:20That's good advice.
17:21All love, no fear, and certainty.
17:29Did you get a good critique?
17:30He seemed, like, more into something more simple.
17:34Yeah.
17:35I had draped an extra piece of fabric
17:37in the front center of my dress.
17:39Once I take the drape off, it's much more appealing.
17:44Given that Eli is one of the judges for this challenge,
17:47whatever advice he gives me, of course I'm going to take.
17:50So when he's really not into my color blocking,
17:53I take it out.
17:55Less is more.
17:56That's all he kept saying.
17:58Less is more.
18:00I'm glad that I'm getting to talk with my boyfriend, Matthew,
18:08on video chat.
18:09Just to let him know how I'm doing.
18:11Hey, what are you doing?
18:12Nothing.
18:13What are you doing?
18:14Sewing.
18:15Still more fun than last time.
18:16Yeah, it has been.
18:18I mean, everything's been harder, because it's all stars.
18:21I'm just taking it one challenge at a time.
18:23So you as excited to talk to me?
18:25They were having beer Thursday at work,
18:27and I skipped to talk to you.
18:30All right, well, I miss you.
18:31Love you.
18:32Love you too.
18:32Bye.
18:33I got the video chat.
18:35I got the video chat.
18:37Hi.
18:37Hi, baby.
18:38Oh my god, your head looks huge.
18:43It's very nice to hear Casanova's voice and see his face.
18:46It does help lighten my spirit a little.
18:48Being on the bottom and then you leaving,
18:50I just feel really discouraged.
18:52And do your best job, because you know,
18:54God had plans for us.
18:56And the plan for me was to go back home, but not yours.
19:00So you have to fight.
19:02You're not a loser.
19:03I know.
19:04I'm going to try my best, and I'm not a quitter.
19:07And I'm here for anyone that's ever had a dream.
19:10So you just have to push forward and never give up.
19:12I miss you.
19:13I love you.
19:14I miss you too.
19:14Bye bye.
19:15Bye, Casanova.
19:19Hi.
19:20Hey.
19:21How are you?
19:22Hi.
19:23We're doing a ready to wear challenge.
19:26I really like those nine vest shoes.
19:28Not too tight.
19:30They feel really tight together.
19:32Yeah, it feels good.
19:35I'm figuring out your body, finally.
19:38Probably need to pull it in.
19:41I've got to make a few adjustments.
19:43I've got to pinch it in on the sides.
19:45But all together, it's a cool look on it.
19:48I know that Mr. Chohari mentioned
19:50that the length could be adjusted,
19:52but I need to stay true to myself.
19:54I really like the length, and I'm really happy with it right now.
19:58I have to fix this, because my mannequin is so much bigger.
20:03It doesn't fit at all.
20:04The dress is way too big.
20:06Like, there needs to be two inches on each side taken in.
20:09Uli's dress, it's like a potato sack, honestly.
20:13I'm afraid if I go too simple, then I'm like, what is this?
20:18Turn a little.
20:20Joshua's dress is really strong from the front.
20:24The profile is an issue with the droopy boobs,
20:28and the back with the weird zipper.
20:30So I think he's going to have a problem with this dress.
20:33OK, let's get you on a dress.
20:36Bye.
20:37Bye.
20:38Bye.
20:39Guys, we have 15 minutes left.
20:42Oh, thank you.
20:51Hey, guys, it's time.
20:53Get up.
20:54Let's go.
21:03I changed a little after Ellie came in and gave me
21:07some good advice about my dress.
21:09He's so inspirational.
21:10He's just an amazing story.
21:12You know, I only know him from just being sold
21:14around the city, but I'm not too sure of his story,
21:17how he started.
21:18Well, he came from Israel almost 40 years ago.
21:22And when he came to New York, he was sleeping in Central Park.
21:26Oh, wow.
21:26And he slept at the YMCA.
21:29He was homeless.
21:30He was working as an electrician, not even in fashion.
21:33So he basically came here with no money.
21:35With nothing.
21:36That's amazing.
21:36Nothing, just a dream.
21:37And the desire to, I guess, make a better life for himself.
21:40As tough as it gets sometimes, like, just stay grateful
21:43and be appreciative.
21:44And do what you love because it's possible if you want
21:47to make it possible.
21:48So let's drink to that.
21:50Yeah.
21:50Being gracious.
21:51Yes, absolutely.
21:52Be appreciative of what we have.
21:57Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
22:00I'm not crazy about Emilio's.
22:02Everything he's made reads dated and period-like.
22:04There's really no way to fix it.
22:05This might be his demise.
22:07It looks like she's got a dump in her butt.
22:19Two hours, guys, right?
22:20Yeah, two hours, two hours.
22:22Two hours.
22:23I have to finish my lining.
22:25I have to put my zipper in.
22:27I have to take the whole dress in two inches.
22:29I have to get it done.
22:31How much more do you have to do it?
22:33I still have to do the entire neckline and armhole.
22:36How are you?
22:37Same thing.
22:38That's right.
22:39It's pretty.
22:40My model puts his dress on, and it looks great.
22:53It's bold, it's fresh, it stands out from the rest of them.
22:57But prints are risky.
22:59You either love them or you hate them.
23:01I'm just hoping that they love it.
23:03I love it.
23:04I love it.
23:09So I want her more sophisticated and modern, and a lip that makes her a little bit more grown-up.
23:15Definitely like a deep, burgundy lip, white under-eye, lashes, open up her eyes.
23:22Laura Mercier has some great, natural-looking product.
23:25Shall we go with the sunny lip?
23:26Oh, I like that.
23:30I just kind of want to go big, volume.
23:32Like smooth, straight here, and then all the texture comes out.
23:34Yeah, let's do that.
23:37Bringing it to the back almost in this, like, this idea of a braid or something that might go on.
23:43Beautiful.
23:44Yeah, let me see if they have them.
23:46Please, honey.
23:47Yeah.
23:48We have half an hour left, you guys.
23:50Thank you, Ivy.
23:52I'm not really crazy about Emilio's.
23:54I know that he's an amazing costume designer, but everything that he's made so far to me
23:59reads very dated and period-like.
24:02Ivy's dress is not as good as it could be.
24:05Ellie was telling her to make it a short dress, but I don't think she caught on.
24:11Anthony Ryan's is gorgeous.
24:15His print is fantastic.
24:16I wish I would have chosen a print, but that's too late now.
24:20Uli does white again, and I'm just thinking she's begging to be married.
24:23She's just screaming for a ring on that fango.
24:25The size of it.
24:27Oh my god.
24:29The zipper is kind of giving you an awful, awful wave effect.
24:34There's really no way to fix it.
24:35I have no idea.
24:36You won't have time to take it all out.
24:37Oh my god, I would have no time.
24:38But it looks like she's got a dump in her butt.
24:39Hey guys, time for runway.
24:40Going to the runway with a wonky zipper is extremely unnerving.
24:47This zipper might be his demise.
24:50Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
24:52No one wants to have a droopy breast.
24:53I would never try on this dress.
24:54I felt like slutty lady.
24:55Oh my god.
24:56Oh my god.
24:57Oh my god.
24:58Oh my god.
24:59Oh my god.
25:00Oh my god.
25:01Oh my god.
25:02Oh my god.
25:03Oh my god.
25:04Oh my god.
25:05Oh my god.
25:06Oh my god.
25:07Oh my god.
25:08Oh my god.
25:09Oh my god.
25:10I felt like slutty lady.
25:11Again.
25:20Hello everyone.
25:21Hello.
25:22This week we brought back one of our most important challenges.
25:26One that combines both business and fashion.
25:29You designed ready to wear looks that could be sold to the public for between $500 and $700.
25:36The profits from the winning design will go towards the charity Save the Garment Center.
25:41Let's meet our judges.
25:42First, designer and co-founder of Marquesa, the beautiful Georgina Chapman.
25:47Hi designers.
25:49And one of the most famous names in fashion, designer Isaac Mizrahi.
25:56Hi designers.
25:58Our first guest came to New York with just $30 in his pocket.
26:04He now runs the largest design studio on Fifth Avenue.
26:07Please welcome one of fashion's biggest success stories, designer Eli Tahari.
26:12Hi guys.
26:13Our second guest judge is an in-demand model and actress.
26:20She's fast becoming one of the most popular faces in entertainment.
26:25Please welcome the girl with the longest legs in the business, Stacy Keebler.
26:30Hi designers.
26:32This is a great opportunity to have your looks sold in stores and raise money for charity.
26:39So, good luck everyone.
26:41Have a great show.
26:42I really love what the print does.
26:55It just looks like it should be bought and sold for $500 to $700.
27:00And I see that slow transition from the front of the dress to the back of the dress.
27:05And it really did work.
27:06You really get this sense of two garments in one.
27:09Really pretty.
27:17I really like the way the dress fits on my model.
27:19I think it's pretty.
27:21It has really great design to it and she looks hot.
27:25I think that this dress would compliment women of all ages and sizes.
27:30And who doesn't want to look pretty in pain?
27:40My dress looks modern, sophisticated and expensive.
27:44I think it's a dress that a lot of women can wear.
27:47But I'm worried.
27:48I think my dress might be just a little too simple for them.
27:54She's so hot.
27:55Mhm.
28:04I'm really happy with this.
28:05I think the colors are just so romantic and beautiful.
28:08My model to me looks very elegant and chic and she can go straight to the beach.
28:12I'm really happy.
28:29The dress looks very clean, pretty, very different than what I've shown so far.
28:33The dress looks almost like I brought a movie star into today.
28:38So it kind of makes it timeless.
28:40I like it.
28:53Designers, you did a really great job in creating ready-to-wear looks that still look amazing on the runway.
28:59Let's bring out your models.
29:06Let's start with you, Uli.
29:07And even to Ellie Tahari's studio, I found this white woven fabric, which I just was so drawn to because you can dress it up or dress it down.
29:17I think the detailing is really pretty on the shoulder and it draws your attention to her face, which I always think is nice for a woman.
29:24I will say that the length is a little neither here nor there to me.
29:29My note was how much I liked the length.
29:31Oh, you did?
29:32Yeah.
29:33It feels like, you know, when you find a thrift dress and it's sort of the wrong length and you get turned on because there's something slightly wrong about it.
29:38You could make a white dress every week and I think they're incredible.
29:42It could be worn during the day with a great little ballet flat and then it could transition to the night. I really love it.
29:49I would absolutely wear this dress. I think that you nailed the challenge. I just think it's very classy.
29:56You used the fringe in a very right way, the correct way, made it modern. It's a wonderful achievement from what I saw yesterday this time.
30:06Thank you so much.
30:07Ivy.
30:08I had originally designed an asymmetrical dress with different color blocking, but I really got inspired by this panel print, so I wanted to make sure that my design didn't overpower it.
30:20I love the color blocking, but quite honestly, it's the only thing that I really like about the dress. The slits on the side just kind of makes it billow out a little bit more than it should.
30:30Was that the entire length of the panel?
30:32It was actually longer at first, but Joanna had mentioned that it would be smarter to do it where the customer wouldn't have to hem it.
30:40This length has made the whole dress feel a little bit frumpy.
30:43What I was trying to hint is the print was supposed to stuff the black under the knee, so you're supposed to lift it up, make it more light. She looks heavy, but it came out better than I thought.
30:59If it was shorter, you know, even if you just cut it off a little bit, it'd be such a cute summer dress.
31:06I like this dress so much. It looks like it's sort of like the day after the world explodes and the sky turned orange.
31:13I actually loved it when she walked. Standing still, I have to say, it's awkward.
31:18So Emilio.
31:20I found this amazing stretched silk fabric, which I thought was amazing because the silk gives it a luxurious feel, but then a little bit of spandex gives it a comfort.
31:31I find this a very hard color. It easily drains a woman's color. I just wish there'd been a few more ideas.
31:38It's probably not a color that I would gravitate to, but it does look beautiful on you.
31:43I've seen a lot of designers do this color and this color combo, so if they can do it, so can you.
31:49Good neckline, good sleeve. I admire your achievement.
31:54I have to say, Emilio, like, I expect more from you, you know, because you are, to me, such an all-star.
32:00And this dress is nice, but is it enough from you? I say no.
32:06Thank you for your comments.
32:08Anthony Ryan.
32:09The fun thing about this print was that I could cut the panels to my own liking without wasting any fabric.
32:15And then I also found this, it's almost like a neoprene-type fabric for the sides. It's got a great stretch to it.
32:21Can she turn around? Because what are the side panels? That's so great.
32:25I mean, that's like, no, no, no, I see it's neoprene, but then you mixed it with another print.
32:30And to me, that makes the dress great. I do take issue with that neckline.
32:34I've seen that neckline before a lot.
32:36It's a challenging fabric. You used it very smart.
32:41It's a, why? Because it's stretch-cutting, so it fits a lot of bodies.
32:45I love this dress. I want to take it off of her and wear it to a red carpet.
32:50And wear it to a red carpet event tonight.
32:52Your dress looks so young without being a junior dress.
32:55But having these straight lines down across the bus with that neckline is tough.
33:00Thank you, Anthony Ryan.
33:02Joshua.
33:03I don't work in lace a lot, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
33:06I think that it really gives a feminine touch to things.
33:09I love the color. It's so vibrant.
33:11But from the profile, she looked like she had her breasts down to her waist.
33:15You've got to sort that out. No one wants to have a droopy breast.
33:18What fabric is that?
33:20It's like a knit wall.
33:21It's gorgeous.
33:22I mean, yeah, I take issue with the fit a lot, and the length a lot, and the zip thing in the back.
33:27I don't even want to talk about the zip thing. I just want to talk about, like, the lace applique on that fabric.
33:31To me, just makes it go completely moderate.
33:36That's a delicious fabric.
33:38You were home free without color.
33:40But to put the lace that is not stretched, that's where you got in trouble.
33:46Well, obviously, I love the color.
33:48The zipper makes it modern, but maybe it takes away from it being feminine.
33:52When you create a dress for a price point of $500 to $700, which is higher-end,
33:57would you really put a zipper in the back of that dress?
34:01Because it does cheapen the dress a little bit.
34:04$500 to $700 is really a moderate price point.
34:06But could you turn around, please? Not to rub it in.
34:09But when I see that...
34:10You basically are. It's a fit issue, and it can be changed.
34:13If the zipper were gone, it would have been more expensive to me.
34:18Editing.
34:19So there you go.
34:20Right.
34:21Designers, you've done a great job with your ready-to-wear looks.
34:25So we're going to have our discussion, and then we'll call you back.
34:28Thank you. You can leave the runway.
34:34It's so hot.
34:36Woo!
34:37You know, I should have just done what Carolyn said and made it just a dress.
34:41I was so set on the zipper, and I should have just edited it out.
34:45If I go home on a zipper, I'm going to be very upset with myself.
34:50So let's talk about our high scores.
34:52Let's start with Uli.
34:53I love seeing this new facet of Uli's muse.
34:56She really has her woman down.
34:58It was the length.
34:59It was the way.
35:00It wasn't exactly the most fitted thing on her.
35:02It looked like she just kind of threw it on.
35:04It looked to me young.
35:05Young and elegant at the same time.
35:07No woman can go wrong with that.
35:09You can wear it to work.
35:10You can go to dinner.
35:12Stacy, you could wear this dress doing interviews during the day,
35:14and then you could throw on a heel and go to a wonderful red carpet event.
35:19That's what I love.
35:20I think it's very versatile.
35:24There was something kind of masterful in the way that Anthony Ryan manipulated that print.
35:30He cut it his way.
35:31Yeah, but he cut it his way and he made it look so great.
35:33I love the pockets on that dress.
35:35I do too.
35:36I do too.
35:37To me makes it feel very young and fresh.
35:39Yes, as women we don't get enough pockets.
35:42He made it an easy dress to wear.
35:45I was impressed.
35:46Looking at the two between Uli and Anthony Ryan, they do fabulous, fabulous work.
35:54They're both good.
35:55I mean, I think they both deserve awards.
35:57Both of them were my favorite.
35:59It's a tough decision.
36:00Which would retail better for you, do you think, in your store?
36:08So, let's talk about our low scores.
36:10I am going to nominate Emilio for, like, immunity for the moment,
36:13because I just think his dress was really better than a lot of things I've seen.
36:17It's a sellable dress.
36:18It is.
36:19It is.
36:20Very, very sellable.
36:21I cannot let him go this week.
36:22I will lie down on that runway.
36:23I will be lying there with you.
36:25It was fine.
36:26It was a fine dress.
36:31Ivy.
36:32She had a really good idea at the top.
36:34And then I think she just relied on the fabric and let it hang.
36:37She could have done a great job with that print.
36:41It's just blah.
36:43This dress, to me, is blah.
36:44If I was walking into the store, I would never try on Ivy's dress.
36:48I would just move on to the next section.
36:50I have to say, you know, week after week, we get Ivy on the bottom.
36:53That's a problem.
36:54I'm afraid with Ivy that I'm going to see something walk down the runway and go,
36:58.
36:59Yeah.
37:00Again.
37:01Yeah.
37:02Joshua should be shocked for trying to do that to a stretch fabric.
37:08That fabric looks so luscious.
37:11What he did with it, it's just unforgivable.
37:13When I saw Josh, I felt like slutty lady.
37:16Even from the front?
37:17Front?
37:18I thought she was pregnant.
37:20It's like when he makes a mistake, he makes this mistake again and again.
37:23I'm really torn today.
37:24Me too.
37:25I'm totally torn.
37:26I'm really, really torn today.
37:27Joshua had too much design and Ivy almost had too little design.
37:32Are we going to tell Ivy that she needs to push herself yet again?
37:38Or are we going to tell Joshua, tone it down a little?
37:42Have we made our decision?
37:49So let's bring them back out.
37:52Designers, tonight one of you will be named this week's winner and one of you will be going
38:07home.
38:08Uli, Anthony Ryan, you had the highest scores.
38:29That means one of your designs will be manufactured and sold in Ellie Tahari stores.
38:36Plus displayed in all the windows and sold online.
38:40And the winning designer is...
38:45Anthony Ryan.
38:47This is a big deal, Anthony.
38:50Oh my God.
38:51I actually started my 40 years ago, my first fashion show was right on that stage.
39:02And to be able to give something back, it's a wonderful feeling.
39:06Thank you very much, Ellie.
39:07And congratulations, Anthony Ryan.
39:09You may leave the runway.
39:10Winning scares the out of me.
39:11Oh my God.
39:12Because it's like a calm before the storm.
39:13Uli, you made an incredible outfit as well.
39:14You should be really proud of yourself.
39:16So you're safe through next week.
39:17You may leave the runway.
39:18Thank you so much.
39:22Good luck.
39:23Good luck.
39:24Congratulations.
39:26Stop winning.
39:27Joshua.
39:28And Emilio.
39:29You had the lowest scores.
39:30That means one of you will be going home tonight.
39:31Emilio.
39:32Yes?
39:33Yes.
39:35You have two scores.
39:36You're safe through next week.
39:37You may leave the runway.
39:38Thank you so much.
39:40Thank you so much.
39:42Good luck.
39:43Congratulations.
39:45Congratulations.
39:52Thanks.
39:53You're a great man.
39:57You're safe.
39:59You can join the others.
40:07Joshua, the fabric you chose was gorgeous and had so much potential.
40:13But in your hands, we felt that it became an average dress.
40:19Ivy, your dress may have worked once a woman put it on,
40:23but she's got to want to take it off the hanger first.
40:28Ivy.
40:36You are out.
40:39Which means, Joshua, you are in.
40:47Ivy, thank you for being a part of All Stars.
40:49Thank you so much.
40:52Good luck.
40:53Good luck.
40:54I am so grateful that I got a second chance.
40:58When I was on season eight of Project Runway, I just had winning, winning, winning on my mind.
41:04And I let that really eat me alive.
41:06And I feel like I finally came to a point of peace.
41:12I'm going home.
41:14Oh.
41:15No, don't.
41:15No, no, no.
41:16I feel that everything happens for a reason.
41:19I don't know what's going to happen, but I still have so many things that I want to show the world.
41:24So I'm excited about what's to come.
41:33Next, on Project Runway All Stars.
41:35This week, we're standing on the deck of the Intrepid.
41:38Each of you will be paired with one of our female veterans.
41:41This challenge hits home for me.
41:43It's really emotional.
41:44To the final four.
41:45Remember, keep your eye on the prize.
41:49If you do something wrong now, you're going home.
41:51Please welcome Katie Holmes.
41:53If you would have gone big, then I would have been on board.
41:56My heart just stopped.
41:57It looks so homemade.
41:58My eye went straight there.
42:00Shocked.
