00:00Stanley House has always been a horse that was highly regarded.
00:04He got one of his bigger wins last time on the turf,
00:07but it was a race where they put him on the front end,
00:10and it was against softer.
00:11This is a tougher group than where he's been able to kind of compete
00:14and win at the highest levels.
00:16Soft pace, going longer against lesser.
00:19Now he's cutting back.
00:21I think he's up against it.
00:22Notable speech, looks like the one to beat.
00:24This horse was actually favored in the Breeders' Cup mile last year.
00:27He's a multiple group one winner,
00:29and he's coming off a runner-up effort when he had legitimate traffic trouble
00:33in the race at Deauville on August the 17th.
00:37So I think he's the horse to beat,
00:39but he's not in quite the same form as he was last year
00:42if you're trying to poke any holes in him at all.
00:45That and the Appleby horses, remember, have not fired quite as well,
00:48but he gets William Buick, one of the best turf riders in the world aboard.
00:52He's the one to beat, but I don't know if he's the one to bet.
00:55One stripe was very impressive.
00:57In South Africa, and he's not raced since March,
01:01but when horses come in from South Africa,
01:02there's a long quarantine process,
01:04and it takes a while for them to be able to run here.
01:07This trainer, Graham Motion, can certainly get horses just like this ready.
01:11My big concern with him would be, Scott, if he is that short of a price,
01:15I'd probably want a little bit more than him,
01:17than the five to two he's listed at on the morning line.
01:20But you look at his races in January, December, November,
01:23they were very, very good.
01:25And I'm certain this horse has ability, just not quite.
01:28I'd love to see a race before this one if I was going to play him in the Woodbine Mile.
01:33Yeah, Motion's just one for four with these types of horses over the last five years.
01:37Grade one winners making their first start,
01:39or first start from foreign shippers in a grade one.
01:42Five to two, too short.
01:44Huntmaster looks like a horse stepping up.
01:47That will probably be part of the early pace.
01:49Comes off of a runner-up effort last time out after showing speed and fading.
01:52The fact that there's another speed horse in here makes him borderline impossible on a huge class hike.
01:58Wyoming Bill is actually in really nice form right now,
02:01and he's kind of a lightly-raced horse with some upside.
02:03He adds the blinkers.
02:05I don't know if he's quite good enough to win this race, Scott.
02:08If you're looking for horses at the back end of your tries and supers,
02:12certainly a horse who's moving in the right direction.
02:14And you have Frankie DeTore, who comes into this off of a really strong Kentucky Downs meet.
02:19Yeah, they both, you see Gas Me Up, who's in the far outside of Wyoming Bill.
02:22They got big setups in this race.
02:24It's kind of weird.
02:25Blinkers on after that effort and a couple of other good ones when they took the blinkers off for three starts.
02:30That worries me a little, Gino.
02:31Yeah, because he ran well.
02:33You don't necessarily like to see the change after running well.
02:36Maybe they're just hoping they could get him into the race a little more
02:39because he was still a few lengths behind Gas Me Up.
02:41When Gas Me Up started his rally, my boy Prince should be on the opposite end of the spectrum.
02:47Right, Scott?
02:47Anytime Mark Cassidy talks about this horse when he's racing long, he says he'll be on the lead.
02:53And that's likely where you'll see him.
02:55Yeah, no doubt about it.
02:56He was on the lead last.
02:57You could already, last time in the four-star day, you could probably make a case that race was better.
03:01But he had everything his way.
03:03He rode a good rail that day and he didn't even hit the board.
03:05I kind of like him as a sprinter when he can sit off the pace a little bit and finish.
03:10I really liked his races going six furlongs and five and a half.
03:14We move to Naptown.
03:15He's won four of his last five.
03:17And as they step up the ranks, the connections just want to see how good this horse is, right?
03:21Where does he stack up against a grade one group like this?
03:24Numbers-wise, not that far off on some metrics, but he got a huge setup last time and the class hike is huge.
03:30It really feels like the eight, win for the money, is coming into this race perfectly handled.
03:36He's going to be making his third start of the form cycle after a long layoff.
03:40He won this race last year, so you know he likes this turf course.
03:44He has the ability to sit close, but he doesn't really want to be on the lead.
03:47I just like him a lot in this spot, Scott.
03:50He's going to get a really good trip, it feels like.
03:52The race two back off the bench in the Kelso, complete toss.
03:55He was on the wrong part of the turf course, never really into the race.
03:58Gas Me Up is in really nice form.
04:00He's sharp, he's won three of the last four, but you pointed out a really great thing from his last race.
04:07It's set up perfectly for him.
04:08You kind of wanted to bet him that last time because that was such a great setup.
04:12What do you do with Gas Me Up?
04:14I don't think he's going to get a huge setup again.
04:16I think he's going to get bet because of that last win.
04:18I'll play against Gas Me Up in this spot at the 5-1 line.
