Tafari Waldron stole the show in the inaugural Subway Road Race in Couva on Saturday.

The event saw a brisk start just on the outskirts of Caldrac Grounds in overcast conditions, it made for a speedy race through Central with musical vibes.

00:08The event saw a brisk start just on the outskirts of Cal Jack Grong in overcast conditions.
00:15It made for a speedy race through Central with some musical vibes.
00:19In the end, Waljohn won the thrilling 12-kilometer race in muddy finish in 37 minutes and 59 seconds, just edging out Kenyan Alex Ikesa by just a second.
00:31Christopher Mitchell took third spot over a minute and a half later.
00:38While Alexia John dominated the women's division, winning in 49 minutes, 41 seconds, edging out April Francis and Akilah Skeet and showing off some dance moves.
00:47The relay event was won by Raheem Modestan, Keith Gibson.
00:52Race winner, Tafari Waljohn, and subway vice president, Johan Mendoza, were pleased with how the event turned out.
