00:31The event was a collaboration between the Arimaboro Corporation and Pantrenbago's Eastern Region as part of the Arimaboro celebrations.
00:42The event featured some of the Eastern Region's well-known bands like San Juan North Stars, Arima Angel Harps Steel
00:48Orchestra, Pan Elite Steel Orchestra and La Hocketa Pan Groove to name a few.
00:53Speaking with TV6 via telephone, chairman of the Pantrenbago Eastern Region, Precious O'Brien, was full of praise for the
01:00event.
01:01I mean, if he was not there last night, I don't know how to describe it. It is indescribable.
01:07But he was just free to be there and witness to himself. Our amazing pan on the dial turned out
01:13to be last night.
01:14O'Brien also reiterated that being involved in the steel pan can help to develop the country's youth and keep
01:20them away from a life of crime.
01:22It is not about just showcasing and performing early days, but it is a total development that happens in the
01:31pan yards.
01:31So if we capture that time frame from 4pm to 10pm to be in a pan yard where it is
01:39strictly development for youths in a pan yard, that is a win.
01:46You know, it keeps them away from the environment or peer pressures that may be encouraged outside.
01:53She also renewed calls for more sponsorship for the Steel Pan and the Pan fraternity.
01:58I just want to continue to make the call for more sponsors to get on board.
02:04You know, you would not be disappointed, you know.
02:08Supporting, you're not just supporting in culture, you're supporting in the development of the youths,
02:13the steel bands and the smallest way you could possibly think because a lot of people benefit.
