00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It's a very windy start for many of us out there this morning, particularly across the
00:08west where we've seen some coastal gales and we'll continue to see some very strong winds
00:12as we go throughout much of Sunday.
00:14A bit of a brighter start across eastern areas this morning, plenty of hazy sunshine on offer
00:18through the afternoon, but further west, a bit of a wetter picture.
00:21Some outbreaks of heavy, showery rain push their way northwards as we go through this
00:26afternoon.
00:26I wouldn't even rule out the odd rumble of thunder mixed in here too.
00:30Staying a little bit drier across the southeast, but where you do see that sunshine, it's
00:33going to feel really quite humid compared to what we've seen recently.
00:37Highs here well above average for the time of year, 25, 26, perhaps even 27 degrees, and
00:42even across the north we could see temperatures into the low 20s.
00:45So a much warmer day than we've seen recently, and a much more humid day too, despite those
00:50very brisk southerly winds that we'll see across the country.
00:53Those winds do start to ease a little as we head through Sunday evening, the southeast
00:57holding on to the best of any dry and clear weather.
01:00It's the best chance of seeing the total lunar eclipse here through Sunday evening.
01:04But further north, further west, we continue to see that rain pushing its way north and
01:08eastwards.
01:08Perhaps some heavy downpours still possible across parts of Scotland, but generally turning
01:12drier for all of us as we head into the early hours of Monday morning.
01:15And those winds really turning down a notch, although still a little blustery around the
01:20coasts.
01:20With some lighter winds and that more westerly wind direction by the time we get to Monday
01:25morning, it'll be turning a little bit fresher, particularly across in some rural spots.
01:29We could see temperatures dropping down into the high single figures, though Townsend City
01:33is likely holding up into the double figures.
01:35But it will still feel quite a bit fresher to start on Monday compared to Sunday morning.
01:41It will still be quite a bright start as well for many of us on Monday morning.
01:44Some blustery showers will feed in from the west, but generally those winds are much lighter
01:49on Monday compared to what we saw on Sunday.
01:51There'll be some sunny spells developing between those showers too.
01:54One or two showers could be heavy at times, but with those lighter winds, it will still
01:58feel pleasant where you do catch the sunshine through Monday afternoon, despite those temperatures
02:02being much lower than Sunday.
02:04They're generally around average for the time of year 20, 21, perhaps 22 degrees across the
02:08southeast and closer to those mid, maybe high teens further north.
02:13There's then further changeable weather on the way as we head through much of this week,
02:17but you can find out more about that by hitting subscribe to our YouTube channel.
02:20Bye for now.
