00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is wet for
00:04some, bright for others but much milder than last night if you are stepping out first thing.
00:09Let me take you through the bigger picture. Low pressure firmly in charge, it's sitting
00:14towards the north-west of the UK with bands of showery rain extending from the west. Some
00:19of this rain through today will be heavy, a similar situation tomorrow particularly for
00:23the north-west of Scotland where we'll see gales and any showers will rattle across the
00:27country with a little sunshine in between, in fact that's how we see Friday as well.
00:32Low pressure sits towards the north on Friday with further systems coming in for the weekend.
00:37For the time being if you are stepping out, notice this keen breeze but some brighter skies
00:41across the north-east of Scotland. Showery rain fairly sporadic across the rest of Scotland,
00:46Northern Ireland, Northern England, Central and Eastern areas of England. For Wales yes,
00:50some showers likely and more persistent bands of showy rain just arriving across the south-west.
00:55It's a breezy day wherever you are, not a lot of sunshine around but we could see some
01:00brighter skies through the afternoon in between those showers. Through the morning though we
01:04watch as this first band of showering continues its passage towards the north-east of Scotland.
01:09Some brighter weather in between before a more persistent band of showery rain arrives and
01:14pushes in across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, Wales, Central and Southern England.
01:18Yet again some heavy downpours are likely with the risk of thunder. Now later on as we see
01:24heavy showers towards the east which will be fairly scattered, a band of heavy and squally rain just
01:29pushes across Northern Ireland. It's fairly narrow but you will be affected down towards
01:33Wales as well as the west country. Temperatures then through the afternoon coming in 20 at the very
01:38best across eastern counties generally speaking it will be the mid teens feeling fresh in that wind.
01:44So that's the picture through this afternoon. Through evening time we continue as this band
01:49of squally rain, heavy rain at that slowly moves towards Scotland, clears eastern counties of England.
01:57It will return to Western Scotland through into Thursday so some high rainfall totals here with
02:02gales likely towards the north-west. Into Thursday further showers first of all across the west as well as
02:08the south but they will develop inland with some sunshine as well. That wind will be a feature of
02:13the weather particularly across the west and that showery rain that heavy rain does extend down towards
02:18Northern Ireland for a time but the highest rainfall totals will be across northern and north-western areas
02:24of Scotland and watch out for some high waves. Temperatures here 14 or 15 degrees celsius and fresh in the wind
02:30to elsewhere 16 to 19 at the very best. So that's Thursday afternoon as we head through Thursday evening
02:38and overnight those showers continue with a scattering of showers and a blustery breeze on Friday. Again
02:45temperatures will struggle 16 to 19 degrees celsius, a little sunshine in between those heavy downpours. I'll see you
