St. Lucia Kings spinner Tabraiz Shamsi is looking forward to tomorrow's Republic Bank CPL clash against Trinbago Knight Riders in Tarouba.

Shamsi tells cricket analyst Dr. Joseph 'Reds' Perreira he has been working on making the necessary adjustments when playing at the different venues across the Caribbean.

00:00Do you by now know to bowl differently to different batsmen in this competition?
00:09Yeah, definitely. You know, you have to do your homework before the game,
00:13watch some video footage of the batters that you're going to be playing against
00:16and see, you know, which areas they like to try and score their boundaries,
00:21how they go out normally.
00:23So, you know, and that's how I would look to, you know,
00:26come up with different plans for different batters.
00:29My last question, you've played on many venues in the Caribbean, if not all.
00:37How do you adjust from venue to venue?
00:40Like St. Kitts is a very small venue.
00:42Trinidad is maybe a bigger venue.
00:45St. Hushamore bunks, Guyana be more turned.
00:49Yeah, so your length definitely adjusts according to the venues you mentioned.
00:53St. Kitts is quite small, so, you know, you'd rather want to be on the shorter side
00:58because the square boundaries are a bit bigger.
01:00St. Lucia gets more bounce, but there's a strong breeze that you have to contend with,
01:04so maybe your lines change.
01:06And Trinidad's going to have another challenge, you know.
01:09It's a lot of dew in Trinidad, and I believe in Guyana as well.
01:13So that brings on more challenges, you know, especially being a wrist spinner.
01:18The ball is very hard to grip.
01:19So those are the kind of things that, you know, I would have to play around with,
01:23try and get different grips, and see what works best on the night.
01:29In my best Afrikaans, dankjewel.
01:32Thank you so much. Thank you.
