00:30And welcome again to The Big Match, where our main game today comes from the 2nd Division.
00:53It's Luton Town against promotion-seeking Fulham, and after the action, we have action of another sort.
00:58An interview with the Fulham manager, Alex Stock, that I think goes down as one of the hardest-hitting that we've ever had on The Big Match.
01:04We support that Luton-Fulham game with goals all the way from the 1st Division.
01:08Five as Derby County take on Wolves.
01:11Seven when Newcastle face Norwich City, the meeting of the Supermax, Malcolm McDonald and Ted McDougall.
01:18But first, much closer to home, we go across to Kenilworth Road in Luton,
01:21with Luton Town first on the field, a run of seven games now without a win after such a bright start to the season.
01:27And today, they face the Fulham side that has struggled to score goals, but still stand third in the 2nd Division.
01:34So this, then, is the setting for a 2nd Division game which is of particular importance to the visitors from London.
01:40Luton Town against Fulham.
01:43And our first job today, of course, is to pick up the two teams.
01:46And here they are with Luton having brought back Ron Futcher to their attack in place of the Australian World Cup player Adrian Alston.
01:52And they have Alan Westfield again after injury to fill the substitute spot.
01:56As for Fulham, three full-backs all injured.
01:58John Cutbush, John Fraser and Les Strong.
02:01Tyrone James comes in for his first game at 2.
02:04Alan Slough goes back to number 3.
02:06One or two fairly new faces for big match viewers.
02:08In the Luton side, Peter Spiring, formerly with Bristol City and Liverpool.
02:11And Brian Chambers, the man they brought from Arsenal.
02:14A brand new one, of course, in the Fulham side.
02:1619-year-old Tyrone James, Paddington Bourne, playing his first game.
02:20It's a game for reunions too.
02:21In the Luton side, former Fulham full-back John Ryan.
02:24And in the Fulham side, former Luton men, Alan Slough.
02:27And the fellow playing up front there, of course, would be Viv Busby.
02:31It doesn't end there either, because the Fulham manager, Alex Stock, was once at Luton.
02:36And to add to it, all two great show businessmen on the boards.
02:38Tommy Trinder, the chairman of Fulham.
02:40And, of course, Eric Morecambe, director of Luton Town, as if you didn't know.
02:43Referee today, George Flint from Nottinghamshire.
02:46And now the crowd at Kenilworth Road waits for the start.
02:50So Fulham get us away.
02:53Attacking the goal to our left in the white shirts and black shorts.
02:56Luton in those orange shirts with the broad stripe and black shorts.
03:01Anderson.
03:15At that time, Seisman went down.
03:18Play on, though.
03:20Mullery.
03:24Play for Ernie Howe.
03:25Referee's having a look at the man on the ground.
03:28The crowd are whistling.
03:29I wonder if they'll influence him.
03:30Fulham in possession now.
03:31James forward to Mitchell.
03:36Seisman just about to get to his feet again, I think.
03:40Halfway up.
03:41And now the trainer comes on again.
03:43Well, it looks as though he might have to come off, Seisman.
03:53A nasty knock on the back of the head.
03:55I think you will find that Luton will refrain from putting on their substitute until they see just how badly hurt he is.
04:01So Ernie Howe to Tyrone James.
04:09Conway.
04:11James, a good run there.
04:17Still there.
04:27James timed that run well and it looks as though Seisman is ready to come back for Luton.
04:31And away go Luton now with Butcher giving the ball there to Slough so that can stop them.
04:39Slough just a little too eager to get his own men going and misplacing that pass.
04:50No, they're bringing this up to you.
04:51Alan West off.
04:53So Seisman is off and Alan West back after injury.
05:01On the Luton side.
05:13Chambers.
05:15Made nicely there for Ron Butcher.
05:20Nope, out of play.
05:25Halfway through the first half.
05:26Luton nil.
05:27Fulham nil.
05:28It all ended happily for Luton in the end.
05:55Quickly comes through to Peter Spiring and here's Alan West.
06:01Anderson turning out for Jim Ryan.
06:03Blood down.
06:06A little harsh that one, I think.
06:07But, er...
06:09Certainly nothing intentional there by Barry Lloyd.
06:11But it puts Luton...
06:13In what could be a very dangerous position here for Fulham.
06:1619 yards out.
06:20The two Ryans standing over it for Luton.
06:24Jim, who I think might well play it for John.
06:27Which he has.
06:29Straight up.
06:33Well, the wall was well formed there.
06:36And there was no way through for Luton.
06:38Now, Alan Butcher having a little bungle there behind the referee's back.
06:51And he caught it just in time to see the last bit of it.
06:55And I'm bound to say, I think, er, Ron Butcher was the man who started it.
06:58Now, it's Alan Stout for free.
07:05Lept in towards Busby.
07:07But header away again by Faulkner.
07:10Murray trying to assert himself.
07:12And they've got a throw.
07:17Which Mullery will take.
07:18Still can't find the right place for it.
07:30Now he can and he's found Mitchell.
07:32But it's a goal.
07:32Lloyd.
07:56Long kick forward.
08:01But Fulcher will allow that to go through the Barber.
08:15Ryan.
08:19Anderson.
08:21Jim Ryan.
08:22Nice bit of play there by Luton.
08:26Now, can Jim Ryan get his cross in?
08:28Can it not Barry Lloyd?
08:29Might get another go.
08:31Oh, nice turn there, though.
08:35By Chambers, yes!
08:47A beautiful bell there for Lutontown.
08:50A beautiful turn that opened up the way for Brian Chambers.
08:59A curling shot over the head of Peter Mellor.
09:021-0 to Luton.
09:0227 minutes gone.
09:15That's his first goal this season.
09:16And a very good run it was, too.
09:19And a real blow to Fulham.
09:21And a real blow to Fulham.
09:26Just what Luton wanted.
09:27They started this season so well.
09:30Winning there.
09:30They won three out of the first four.
09:32But they've now gone seven League and Cup games without a win.
09:36And maybe that goal will give them the confidence that they badly knew.
09:53Goal kick.
09:53Well, it came from a fair way out.
09:59I'm just wondering whether Peter Mellor might not say to himself that that really shouldn't have crept over my head.
10:04But it did.
10:05And it puts Fulham behind.
10:06Fulham behind.
10:36Fulham behind.
10:38It's now.
10:41Fulham.
10:43Faulkner in the way.
10:44Conway can pick it up now.
10:46Loose ball there which he picked up well.
10:48But he's caught Mitchell offside.
10:51A free kick to Luton.
10:54Coming up to the half hour.
11:06a lot of nicely there by Ron Futcher
11:12to West but the whistle had gone for the foul by Howe on Futcher
11:16spiring
11:20James going with him and Anderson was almost in there
11:28and now maybe Chambers again
11:29that time it was Alan Slough who got in the way
11:33another dangerous loop grade there
11:36and Chambers got into a scoring position
11:39but the shot cannoned off the Fulham number three
11:42Alan Slough
11:44Now that
12:00good acceleration there
12:04what a good piece of play there finding Conway
12:08turning inside again for Busby and a good save there by Barber
12:11best for the move of the game
12:14Barrett and Conway combining very well indeed
12:18down that right touch line
12:20and Busby meeting the cross very well indeed first time
12:23a good diving save by Keith Barber
12:26and how Busby
12:30Barrett
12:34throw to Luton
12:35Fulham still not finding their rhythm
12:42Fulham has taken them to third place in the table
12:46there's again a piece of cool play there by Paul Futcher
12:56Chambers finding John Ryan
12:58inside for Jim Ryan
12:59and Luton again throwing everything at Fulham
13:04reflection there
13:07well Futcher there
13:08but the whistle have gone
13:10but a very good save indeed by Peter Mellor
13:13as that one was floated in
13:16Futcher got up so well
13:17and Mellor saved
13:19extremely well
13:20and Mellor cut out in the nick of time as firing went in
13:33maybe a mistake by Bobby Moore there
13:38backward header by Lloyd
13:41Ryan
13:42and Mellor
13:43and Mellor cut out in the nick of time as firing went in
13:47maybe a mistake by Bobby Moore there
13:51backward header by Lloyd
13:55Ryan
13:56if you look at his watch for half time
14:01and there goes the half time whistle
14:03with the only goal of the first half
14:06giving Luton the lead they deserve
14:08they've come forward with a good deal of aggression
14:10scored for them by their number 10
14:12Brian Chambers
14:13going off there
14:15a lot more to come of course
14:17as usual on the big match for you this afternoon
14:19but we leave you with a half time score here
14:23at Kenilworth Road
14:24reading Luton Town 1
14:27Fulham 0
14:29we'll be right back with the second half
14:31welcome back to Kenilworth Road
14:43and it's Luton now who get us underway
14:45they'll be attacking the goal to our left
14:46Mellor
14:47quick to try and make some sort of progress for Fulham
14:51Conway now
14:53Luton leading by this one goal to nil
15:01and the goal is something of a rarity here
15:03in fact Luton have only scored six in the last seven games
15:07switcher
15:12they've offended very well
15:15as well as coming forward with great aggression
15:17they don't look as though they're going to concede very much at the moment at any rate
15:19Keith Barber there
15:21keep
15:25.
15:32.
15:38.
15:43.
15:45.
15:46.
15:47.
15:48.
15:49.
15:50.

16:00.
16:03.
16:05.
16:06.
16:14.
16:17.
16:22.
16:23Throw given, certainly hasn't let Fulham down this afternoon on Tyrone James, but there's West, with a shot, I think Amela really giving his defence a bit of stick there, as that shot from West went in and he had to scoop that one away, corner then to Luton, which Spiring will take,
16:51played wide this time for Bobby Thompson, there's the cross going in, Anderson tried to find a way through, Barrett helping it on its way, here's John White, oh and he's given it to Mitchell, played on now for Busby, who's got Barrett in the middle, taking them on Busby, very well indeed, the cross coming back, and a corner for Fulham on that far side,
17:15very important indeed for Fulham, to escape a defeat here, to keep that challenge up, towards the top of the second division,
17:26Conway's cross, Barrett with the back header, and it ended up just a little too high for Booth Busby.
17:50Now, which, and Hannah away again, really has looked impressive this afternoon, here's Bobby Thompson.
18:20Spiring.
18:21And James, shows his moment well,
18:30Paul Fodger, to Brian Chambers, here come Luton again, Jim Ryan.
18:44Jim Ryan.
18:50And John Ryan a little bit back on his heels there, but here's Brian Chakins.
18:54One pass, Bobby Moore.
18:56A little chip in there, and Ernie Howell getting it away for Fulham.
19:02Paul Fletcher.
19:05And again, Ernie Howell getting it away.
19:07He's got a high there, but it was six of one, half a dozen of the other.
19:17Busby.
19:19Good game of challenge and counter-challenge at the moment as Busby takes it up for Fulham.
19:25Great inside again by Mitchell for him, and here's Busby again.
19:29Conway.
19:30A little touch for Mitchell.
19:31Will this be the chance for him?
19:32No, it won't.
19:33Busby trying to come in.
19:37Still with Busby, and the orange shirts were crowding around him.
19:42Finally forcing him away, and a foul given against Ernie Howell there.
19:47And Luton can take it up now themselves, with Anderson.
19:56West.
20:04Chambers.
20:07Offside.
20:15Faulkner.
20:20Mitchell.
20:21A nice head on there for Busby.
20:22Just onside, and played onside by Paul Fletcher.
20:26There's Lloyd coming in.
20:27Oh, and done.
20:29Barber really had to go down to push that one away.
20:32Lloyd coming up unexpectedly.
20:33Offside.
20:33Offside.
20:34Offside.
20:34Offside.
20:34Offside.
20:34Offside.
20:34Offside.
20:34Offside.

20:41Offside.
20:42Offside.
20:42Offside.
20:42Offside.
20:43Offside.
20:43Here's the corner, though, from Conway.
20:45That time Barrett didn't get the header in.
20:49Chambers.
20:50West.
20:50West.
20:50West.
20:52West.
20:52West.
20:54West.
20:54Anderson.
20:55A good break from the middle of the field.
20:56And here's wrongfooter now.
20:58He's wrongfooted them all.
20:59Sparring.
21:01Jim Ryan is free.
21:04Just played a little too firmly for him.
21:06John Anderson was offside and it's a free kick for Fuller, brilliant break out of defensive game by Luton
21:16the substitute, there's the number seven's coming off John Mitchell's coming off in fact
21:21so they're replacing one striker with another
21:24John Mitchell their cup hero of last year a fellow who lives in Luton in fact goes off
21:32John Dye, big tough Scott comes off
21:36Oh
21:51I'm sorry
21:53Oh, oh!
21:58Oh, oh!
22:01Oh, oh!
22:05Give me a hand, Maxi!
22:09I got it!
22:15I got it!
22:19Mullery with the throw.
22:23Moore.
22:26Mullery.
22:29A deep cross there towards Lloyd!
22:32That looked to be the one, and certainly that was the chance.
22:36As Mullery hit that in with a slightly lower trajectory,
22:40Lloyd avoided the Luton defenders, got in his header, but it was wide.
22:45The crowd are whistling anxiously, but there's still at least two and a half minutes to go.
22:49And now it's Ron Pusher with Peter Anderson in the middle.
22:52There's Anderson.
22:53Oh, and Miller had to come diving out there just before Anderson got there.
23:00Good break again by Luton, but now it's Fulham on the break with John Dowie.
23:04With West struggling after him.
23:06Barrett.
23:08Well it's gone behind, the Lions' flag goes up.
23:15Go!
23:16Go!
23:17Go!
23:18Go!
23:19Go!
23:20Go!
23:21Go!
23:22Go!
23:23Go!
23:25Go!
23:26Go!
23:27Go!
23:28Go!
23:29Go!
23:30Go!
23:31Go!
23:32Go!
23:33Go!
23:34Go!
23:35Go!
23:36Ryan, Anderson, Jim Ryan.
23:43Away goes Peter Bello again.
23:56Dowie, Barrett.
24:00Looks to be running into trouble there,
24:01and Bobby Thompson will have a chance to play this back.
24:03Now he decided against it, as Howard come across quickly.
24:07It's a throw to Fulham.
24:09Very little time left for him now.
24:12He come up to the last minute of the game.
24:22Barrett.
24:25A bit lower this time, and West putting it behind.
24:28Again, a glimmer of hope for Fulham.
24:31More right in there.
24:33And in fact, it was Ernie Howe, whose header went just wide.
24:38And the whistle has gone, I think, a few seconds early.
24:43But the fact remains that Luton have won with a goal by Brian Chambers.
24:47Scored after 26 minutes of the first half.
24:51Fulham never really finding their rhythm.
24:53Never really testing Keith Barber in the Luton goal.
24:56So it's a blow for their march towards the top of the second division.
25:03Final score line of Kenilworth Road.
25:06Luton 1, Fulham 0.
25:09Well, I think you'll agree, not the most distinguished of games.
25:12But a worthy victory for Luton.
25:13They show great determination and skill.
25:15The signs are there that they're playing their way out of a poor spell.
25:18As for Fulham, of course, they never show promotion form.
25:21And scoring goals really has become a problem for them.
25:23It's five games now since a Fulham forward scored.
25:26And three games since anyone scored for them.
25:29And after the match, their manager, Alex Stock, was brutally honest about it all.
25:32I don't think it's often that managers bare their souls quite the way he did.
25:35When I suggested that he must have been very disappointed with that particular Fulham performance.
25:40It's the sort of game when you have to come and you have to take something, don't you?
25:44If you're going to win leagues, you have to.
25:46The most disappointing aspect probably was the fact that you had nothing up front.
25:50Or at least nothing appeared to be coming up front.
25:52Well, I thought we were very disorganized in the first half.
25:55And it's seldom I say that about my side.
25:58You know, you have to have people who think.
26:00And quite frankly, we didn't have anyone who was brave, full of life, zip.
26:05And you've got to be if you're going to win promotion, haven't you?
26:08And so we have to do something about it.
26:10I've never heard you talk like this about yourself.
26:11No, no.
26:12I seldom say rude things about my side.
26:14I always sort of say pleasant things because I've had nothing to complain about.
26:17But if you talk about winning championships, you've got to be out there doing it all the time.
26:22And up front today, nothing.
26:25Why was that, do you think?
26:27Well, I can't tell you why people get timid, don't lack zip, go ideas, you name it.
26:35I have people so out of form, they just have to go.
26:38It's as simple as that.
26:39They have to go?
26:40I don't mean just have to go from the club.
26:41They have to get out of that team, don't they?
26:43Because it's tragic to talk about winning promotion and perform like that.
26:47Can't complain about the defense.
26:48We've had nine goals kicked by us in 12 games.
26:50And we don't try to play defensively.
26:52And we had kids playing in defense.
26:54And didn't they play well?
26:55But when experienced players sort of sit around, they have to understand there has to be an end to it sometimes.
27:03What sort of players are you talking about?
27:04Would you name names, Alec?
27:06Who are sitting around?
27:06I don't go into name names.
27:08There were people playing.
27:10They're there for all to see.
27:11And I hope they watch your program tomorrow.
27:13But if you put them out of the side, you've got to replace them.
27:16Well, that's a problem we have to solve.
27:18But you can't play with people that are constantly not doing it.
27:21You can't do worse, can you?
27:22Are you on the lookout for another forwards, more forwards?
27:27That is a certainty.
27:28Got to have it.
27:29Otherwise, it would break the heart of the people playing at the back of the midfield.
27:33Rodney Marsh is a name that always springs to mind.
27:35I mean, what's the situation with Rodney Marsh and Fulham, Alec?
27:39Can't afford the money.
27:40Otherwise, I'd be in there just like that.
27:43You know, I've got a great problem.
27:44We've got the other centre-half boy fit.
27:45The best player in the second division last year, isn't it?
27:47John Lacey.
27:48So I've got a problem.
27:49And probably I might have to do that thing that other people have always had to do.
27:54Sell one to buy one.
27:56You know?
27:57But we have to do something, don't we?
27:59You would have to sell either Ernie Howe or John Lacey to buy a forward, you mean?
28:04Might come to that.
28:05I hope it doesn't.
28:06Because, you know, when you've got good players who are young players,
28:09you want them to play for you for ten years.
28:10But I've got the scheme.
28:12I have to get someone who can play up front.
28:14On the credit, what about the young boy Tyrone James?
28:16Terrific.
28:18Terrific.
28:18Lovely.
28:19And Ernie Howe and the young boy Dowie when he came on,
28:22all 19s and 21s playing their guts out.
28:26You know, beautiful.
28:27We found a full-back today, didn't we?
28:29Yeah, exactly.
28:30Have you told them all this in the dressing room now?
28:32Had a real ripe up and down at half-time.
28:35And I seldom have that.
28:36Very long time in the Fulham Football Club that we've had such a thing.
28:42But today was the finish.
28:43You can go no farther.
28:44Hmm?
28:46Alex, thank you very much indeed for coming on.
28:48That's all right.
28:48And a lot of people respect...
28:49Hope they see your programme.
28:51Well, an Alex stock that few of us would have seen before.
28:55But again, I think you'll agree you have to respect his honesty.
28:58And if the Fulham players saw that interview,
29:00I'm quite sure it's going to sting them into action
29:02for their Anglo-Scottish Cup semi-final
29:03against Motherwell that comes up at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
29:06Let's have some more action now.
29:18And for that, we go to Newcastle.
29:20Put the Supermax together,
29:21Malcolm MacDonald of Newcastle
29:22and Ted McDougal of Norwich,
29:24and it's a surefire formula for goals.
29:26And so it proved to be.
29:27Seven of them coming your way now
29:29as Newcastle United take on Norwich City at St James' Park.
29:32The pictures from Tyentee's television.
29:34Commentator Ken Wollstone-Home, Newcastle in stripes.
29:37Kennedy with the free kick.
29:43Gowling obviously trying to get it back to MacDonald.
29:50Burns.
30:02Kennedy once again for Newcastle.
30:09Kennedy brought down by Grapes, number seven.
30:22Tommy Craig with this free kick.
30:24And MacDonald!
30:24That was Malcolm MacDonald at his very best
30:46as the free kick came over.
30:47Malcolm MacDonald was behind the defence,
30:49came on the right side,
30:51flicked it in with his left foot.
30:54Almost half-time now.
31:04Maybe a wee bit of injury time
31:06to add on.
31:07About two or three minutes left
31:08and it's Powell for Norwich.
31:12Beat it.
31:13Boyer.
31:15And a goal!
31:19It's Maguire who knocked it in.
31:21The ball seemed to trickle through Boyer's legs
31:24from the pass by Peters.
31:26The ball trickled through Boyer's legs.
31:27I thought he was going to put it in
31:28and there was Maguire.
31:30Round at the back, knocking the ball in.
31:33A very surprised Newcastle United team.
31:35Two minutes from halftime.
31:37One, knocked back to Natchez.
31:51One, knocked back to Natchez.
31:55Burns.
31:55Gowling.
32:03Oh, and he's got it in.
32:05No, it's off the line.
32:06He's given it.
32:07It's a goal.
32:08It is a goal.
32:09A splendid goal by Gowling.
32:10Well, it looked a million to one
32:20against Gowling
32:21getting that ball
32:22even across
32:23for a centre.
32:24But he hit it well.
32:25The goalkeeper went for it.
32:27Keelan, I thought he'd got it
32:28but it sheckled out of his hands
32:29and then although it was
32:30cleared off the line
32:31the linesman
32:32in good position to flag
32:33and signal that it was a goal.
32:36Tommy Craig, number 11
32:37to take the free kick.
32:39No, it's Kennedy.
32:39McDonnell
32:41met that beautifully
32:44with his head.
33:00Pat Howard
33:01not very pleased
33:01with that charge
33:02from McDougal
33:03but the referee
33:04way play on.
33:04Forbes
33:10once again
33:11the ball
33:12given away
33:12it's now Burns
33:13for United.
33:17Natras
33:18and he hit the post.
33:21That was the shot
33:23of the match
33:23the shot of the season
33:24I would think
33:25and the crowd
33:26rise to Natras
33:27and even the players
33:28applaud him.
33:28and Forbes
33:32is penalised
33:33for pulling back
33:34Cowling.
33:36Once they put on
33:36Duncan Forbes
33:37he's having a dreadful match
33:38he had a fitness test
33:39before this game
33:40and the way things
33:42have gone wrong
33:43for him
33:43I'm sure he wishes
33:44he'd failed it.
33:45Greg Gulling
34:003-1
34:01Once again
34:13the Norwich defence
34:14caught flat footed
34:15from a Tommy Craig
34:16free kick
34:17Tommy Craig
34:18didn't look as if
34:18he was going to take it
34:19moved up
34:20flighted it beautifully
34:21with the defender standing
34:22watching
34:22Gulling
34:23sensibly make ground
34:24nodded it
34:25into the back of the net.
34:26and Mcdonald
34:36and he's got it
34:39how on earth
34:40could he ever
34:41get his foot
34:42to that ball
34:42is beyond me
34:43and that long ball
34:53straight through the middle
34:54was never on
34:55for Mcdonald
34:56but once again
34:56slacked us
34:57with this defence
34:58and Mcdonald
34:59who won't be pushed off
35:00by anything
35:00he just kept on going
35:03and stuck out of foot
35:04and really rammed it
35:06into the back of the net.
35:20Throw for Norwich
35:21being taken by Peters.
35:26one of those strange silences now falls upon St. James Park
35:38the opposition has scored
35:40but a good centre from Peters
35:43and it looked to be going out
35:45and it looked to be going out of
35:45Machen put it back
35:46and there was
35:47Ted Becdougall
35:48already willing and
35:50able to
35:51notch his usual goal
35:53so it's 4-2.
35:54watch 45 minutes are up
36:10there's a little bit of injury time to be added on
36:16now it's Machen making a present of it to United
36:19and now Tommy Craig to
36:22number 9
36:24Mcdonald
36:25and it's a goal
36:29and the new boy
36:35Dave Jones
36:36who puts through his own goal
36:39in the very last minute
36:40and Mcdonald's centre way
36:42down the left
36:43put across the low centre
36:46there was no Newcastle player there
36:48but there was
36:49Dave Jones
36:50sliding towards his own goal
36:52puts it into the back of the net
36:54and so
36:55it's 5-2.
36:59And both the Supermax on target
37:01and Malcolm Mcdonald of course
37:02watched by Don Revy's right hand man
37:04Les Cocky yesterday
37:05I'd say that Malcolm
37:06had virtually played his way
37:07into the England side
37:08for that vital game
37:08against Czechoslovakia
37:09on Wednesday week
37:10when of course
37:11we're going to need the forwards
37:12who can really go
37:13at Czech defenders.
37:14Now we come to our third game
37:26and it's Derby County
37:27and their last game
37:28before they take on
37:29Real Madrid this Wednesday
37:30in the European Cup.
37:32Yesterday Derby were at home
37:33to struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers
37:35the pictures for this one
37:36come from the baseball ground
37:37where ATV had cameras
37:39commentator Hugh Johns
37:40Derby County in white shirts.
37:42Gemmell
37:43Newt
37:45George
37:47good ball in
37:47too strong
37:49reacted well with it though
37:50Gemmell
37:51George taking over
37:57and hitting one
37:57Oh
37:59Charlie George
38:00unloading that
38:02big cannon right
38:03boot of his
38:04such a lazy action too
38:06and such power
38:07on the end of it
38:08Richards good touch
38:10against Todd
38:10Khan
38:11in for Richards
38:12this looks useful
38:13saving tackle by Nish
38:17Richards again
38:17well fed
38:19for Hibbert
38:19must hit it
38:20still the pressure on
38:23Palmer now for Wolves
38:24far post is
38:26Kindham
38:27got a good touch
38:28and Fulton grabs it
38:30second chance
38:31good driving
38:33strike by Wolves
38:34then
38:34all initiated
38:35by John Richards
38:36down the middle
38:36Hector on for Lee
38:44cut out by Monroe
38:45Hector
38:52Gemmell
38:54Lee
38:56Gammell
38:59oh good ball
39:03Hector
39:031-0
39:05Kevin Hector
39:09punishing
39:10poor Gary Pierce
39:11and the Wolves
39:12defence
39:12what a bad error
39:14Archie Gammell
39:17slipping
39:18and still not
39:20hustle
39:20as he's stoked
39:21to retrieve
39:22the situation
39:23Wolves
39:24retreat
39:25he sticks a perfect
39:26ball through
39:26for Hector
39:271-0
39:28Charlie George
39:32forward through
39:32the middle
39:32goes to Lee
39:33first
39:34that's McNabb's
39:36ball
39:37Monroe
39:40Kindham
39:43neatly done
39:46for the big man
39:47and got it again
39:48for Richards
39:49Palmer
39:51Carr
39:54McNabb
39:55is deep
39:56over to the
39:56left
39:58but it doesn't
39:58matter
39:58Lee
40:00now
40:01attacking
40:01three on
40:02two
40:02Hector
40:03Lee
40:05oh yes
40:07he didn't mean it
40:08but it worked for him
40:08oh
40:09well I blow
40:11Franny Lee
40:1212 minutes
40:142-0
40:15well I think even
40:19Franny Lee
40:19would agree
40:20that he had
40:21just a fraction
40:22of luck
40:22then
40:22Monroe
40:24and McCall
40:25absolutely
40:26caught
40:26as Franny Lee
40:27attacks them
40:29through the
40:29middle of the
40:29park
40:30the ball
40:31bobbled
40:31from one foot
40:32to the other
40:32once he'd
40:32seen the gap
40:33he was in
40:34and nothing
40:35was going to
40:35stop him
40:36scoring then
40:36caught by Archie
40:43Gamor
40:43first foul called
40:53against Wolves
40:54in the game
40:54it Wolves
40:59favour in the game
41:00Archie Gamor
41:02Archie Gamor
41:02Lee
41:04Gamor wins it
41:08back so easily
41:08Hector is on
41:11Hector is in
41:13and Hector has
41:14scored
41:143-0
41:16and the same
41:20knockout
41:20drops
41:21that put Wolves
41:22on the rack
41:23in 10 minutes
41:24knocks in the
41:25third one
41:26at 27 minutes
41:28Wolves caught
41:30in trouble
41:31attacked by
41:32Archie Gamor
41:33who delayed
41:34his pass
41:35until the
41:36exact moment
41:37delivered it
41:38into the
41:38path of
41:38Hector
41:39and Hector
41:40really doesn't
41:40miss those
41:41Gamor
41:46foul against Lee
41:49Monroe reaching
41:57across now
41:58for Palmer
41:58that's a good
42:00ball
42:00that's Hibbert
42:04what a good
42:05one
42:05what a fine
42:08cross ball
42:09now that was
42:10a good
42:10old-fashioned
42:11Wolves attack
42:11centre-half
42:12to fullback
42:13the cross in
42:14and Hibbert
42:15on the end
42:15of it
42:15the gliding
42:16header
42:16Bolton
42:17not a tall
42:18man
42:19forced to
42:19push it
42:20away
42:20for the
42:20corner
42:20well
42:28well
42:28Richards could be in
42:34here now
42:35oh it's
42:36Kindon
42:36that's
42:37Kindon's first goal
42:38of the season
42:38unselfishly given
42:40to him by
42:41John Roberts
42:42and John Richards
42:43so it's 3-1 now
42:46the second minute
42:48of the second half
42:49the unfortunate
42:52Roy McFarlane
42:53slipping as that ball
42:54comes through the middle
42:55John Richards going on
42:57looking as though he's on
42:58for a goal himself
42:59and utterly unselfishly
43:01knocks it sideways
43:02for Steve Kindon
43:03to score his first goal
43:05of the season
43:05the first one
43:06by Wolves side
43:06here
43:07since 1972
43:08Monroe forward
43:15Farland then
43:17for Nish
43:18George down
43:23aiming for Lee
43:24and Thama
43:28drives forward
43:30for Wolves
43:31good ball
43:35Mike Bailey
43:36Kindon
43:37Bailey
43:39and he's chased
43:40by Rijok
43:40well a free kick
43:44is given
43:44against Rijok
43:48so we can assume
43:55that
43:56with 15 minutes
43:57to go
43:58of this game
43:59we can assume
43:59that Mike Bailey
44:01been able to take
44:02perhaps just
44:02one and a half
44:03strides more
44:04Wolves might have
44:05had a penalty
44:06oh he wouldn't
44:07have needed
44:07even a stride
44:09and a half
44:09he'd need
44:09about 6 inches
44:10see that that ball
44:13is almost on
44:14the
44:1418 yards line
44:16Willy car
44:18willy car
44:18is over the wall
44:20is over the wall
44:20but behind him
44:20is Palmer
44:21Hector
44:22Gemmell
44:22Lee in the wall
44:23George and
44:24Nish ready to
44:25charge at him
44:26going far post
44:28and that is a goal
44:29from John Richards
44:30beautifully done
44:32and Darby absolutely
44:35caught flat
44:3631 minutes of the game
44:39gone
44:39so that was
44:41beautifully contrived
44:43a perfectly taken
44:44free kick
44:45from
44:45Willy
44:46Khan
44:47and John Richards
44:48getting on the end
44:49of it
44:50so the gamble
44:50has paid off
44:52for
44:53Bill McGarry
44:54and we leave you today
44:56with the honest words
44:57of an angry Fulham manager
44:58Alex Stock
44:59and the Luton Town goal
45:00that underlined
45:01the reason
45:02for them
45:02I had a real ripe
45:04up and down
45:04at half time
45:05and I seldom have that
45:07very long time
45:08in the Fulham football club
45:11that we've had
45:11such a thing
45:12but today was the finish
45:14you can go no farther
45:15now can Jim Ryan
45:17get his cross in
45:17can it not Barry Lloyd
45:18might get another go
45:20a nice turn there though
45:24by Chambers yes
