02:40 - Race Starts (Round 10)
Transcript
00:00it's round four of bennett's bsp for 2025 and a 20-lap sprint coming up race 10 of the season
00:10and the first wet race of the year it's time for splash and dash here at knock hill bradley ray
00:19dominant so far 32 points ahead in the championship he's won seven races on the
00:25track eight in total in this 2025 season but this is a race that will be quite a challenge
00:33for the number 28 because there'll be opportunity knocking for many further down on the grid who
00:39fancy their chances at a podium as you just heard there from james on the grid brad ray starts from
00:44pole position ahead of rory skinner he's got good form in the wet and of course here at home car
00:48ride joins them on that front row tommy bridewell heads row two with storm stacy up there as well
00:54as josh brooks who was fastest in morning warm-up it's well worth pointing out further down the
01:00order lots of wet weather specialists that could poke their nose in business here leon has done
01:06got to start all the way down in 13th so far it's been a rotter of a weekend for him likewise for
01:11fellow experience rider christian idden who has got to start all the way back down in 18th after his
01:16crash on lap one yesterday uh james you were just saying as you came to the commentary box there as
01:21far as wet conditions go not too bad yeah not too bad there's there's not a lot of rain coming down
01:26actually there's enough so that it's not going to dry out um but it's not horrendous to ride in it's
01:31not uncomfortable to ride in uh you've got to be careful you don't get any moisture on the inside of
01:36your visor otherwise uh they have a tendency to manifest itself in steam on the inside of your visor
01:41uh but apart from that keep away from the white lines you know yeah you keep away from the slipping
01:46bits if you can get a good start and keep in the getting the fresh air and have no spray all the
01:50better but there'll certainly be people who will be fancying this and really quite pleased it's raining
01:56i'm thinking luke hedger uh fraser rogers went really well on friday in very similar conditions to
02:02this and they're brave and they've nothing to lose in terms of a championship so they'll get stuck in
02:06uh and maybe storm states because we've seen what he can do in these conditions yeah he was fastest
02:12here on friday in conditions much like this as brad ray then gets himself onto pole position
02:1720 lap sprint coming up that's just over 25 miles in total
02:22shaky holds the record for the most wins on the spin in bsb from 2003 when he won
02:35eight on the trot will it be brad to equal that today eyes on the lights
02:40and we're underway good start from the second row there for storm stacy number 79 there he is
02:46shooting through to the inside line but it will be brad ray from pole that leads them through turn
02:51one down into duffers dip from kyle ryde rory skinner third storm up to fourth yep you don't want to
02:56get your wide onto the painted surfaces because they will tend to be sleepy bunching of it yeah pleased with
03:01that every round you spoke to fraser rogers on the grid he said he's having this he just
03:05took a risky move there but he's obviously saved quite a few places the yellow and black tack on to
03:11keep an eye on him already there a lunge potentially from skinner on kyle ryde as brad ray look tries to
03:16get into his groove early on yeah fraser's up another one as well yeah number 89 fraser you keep we'll keep
03:22our eye on him storm stacy's already up into third and remember fastest here on friday felt so good on
03:28his baton's bmw yeah the outsiders to watch a 79 and 89 fraser is 89 i think here we go then on to the
03:36start finish straight brad ray leads across the line for the end of lap one storm stacy already
03:40pulling up the inside of kyle ryde getting into his groove now up to p2 is storm
03:47third place at the moment for kyle ryde rory skinner is currently in fourth there number 11 just ahead of
03:53tommy bridewell over the line fraser rogers was eight he's charging up towards scott reddy there's
03:58riders who really enjoy riding in these conditions for a couple of reasons sometimes they think it's
04:02going to give them a better chance they kind of they cope with these conditions a little bit better
04:07but always at the back of your mind there's a feeling that if you make one little mistake it can be
04:10punished a bit more than what you would be in the drive you touch a white line touch a painted surface
04:15where the numbers are on the grid are etc you can easily find yourself going down the road for not a lot
04:20done wrong really bory skinner now a nice move up the inside of number one kyle ryder on the cutback
04:25kyle trying to challenge but will he get up on terms with that to kathy it doesn't look like it
04:29fine start to the race for the championship leader bradley ray he cannot put a foot wrong at the moment
04:35he can and actually all the top riders should be riding these conditions really well there's no real
04:40excuse for it 52.5 in the wet as well that's shifting that is shifting yeah we come here doing track there's
04:47yeah there's fraser sliding underneath just brook getting properly stuck in here is fraser rogers
04:53number 89 that gets you could angle as to lift up there into the chicane and actually they do take a
04:57lot of curb in there going in but that's because the bike is going over straight there's no stress
05:02sideways no centrifugal force on those tires at all if there were it wouldn't be as it was we wouldn't
05:07be doing that brad ray was possibly expecting some business early in this race but as it is he's not seen
05:13a front wheel so he's just trying to check out tommy bridewell had gone through on kyle ride yeah
05:20yeah he's still if you just miss your breaking point a little bit in these conditions that happen
05:25you don't really want to tip in you you better just sort of balancing it and running it slightly
05:29wide a couple of meters there for for uh tommy so tommy bridewell there number 46 up ahead of kyle
05:34rides fraser rogers just behind them in sixth spot he's done excellently to come through from 12th on the grid
05:41as we look here at storm stacy at the moment it's purple sector after purple sector for your
05:49championship leader on the raceway shamaha who opted for a quite a heavily tinted visor which
05:54surprised me yeah surprised uh that myself um normally these conditions you would run a clear visor with
06:01uh a pin lock on the inside like a double glazed kind of unit if you like uh that stops most i mean
06:07did yeah it's not foolproof but they do work reasonably well to keep you seeing where you're
06:11going but a tinted one like that is unusual in these conditions over the line at 51.9 now for bradley
06:17ray this is seriously amazing pace in the wet conditions around here if you came to track
06:22day here on a one litre sports bike and you were a quick rider that is a quick time you'd struggle to
06:28get anybody in the fast group of a of a apart from races on a track who would be doing those times in
06:33perfect conditions he can't believe this look how good he looks on the bike
06:38pitch perfect for bradley race so far it's lap 5 of 20 though
06:45yeah they reckon uh oh yeah they reckon a good grip it circuit in the way he should be doing about
06:51110 percent of dry time and that's just just a fraction underneath that that's an indication of how
06:58grip of this place is in the way as leon haslam number 91 making uh some big moves and that was a
07:04big move and a good move yeah very good what was haslam starting he started 13 so he's made a few
07:09spots up he's out of 50 meters behind him i've got scott reading just up ahead of him
07:16wet conditions of course for scott with no electronics is very different to what he's used to as lee jackson makes
07:22up a spot now as well that goes through and andy irwin christian didn't just in the background there
07:27has pushed his sway forward a bit as nesbit nearly took a nibble at andy irwin yeah freakishly even
07:35when you when you can run active traction control and rider is like in world superbike it's more
07:39difficult to get him set up in the wet when you think they need it more because every corner's different
07:44every wet condition is different so if you can get it perfect you've got time all be all well
07:50but detectives less of it rory trying to find a way through on storm stacy he's quicker than storm
07:56in sector two at the moment tommy bridewell just in the background there as brad ray rolls off into
08:00the distance again at 51.7 it's faster slap after faster slap for the championship leader he's already
08:07now got over three seconds yeah on the field yeah yeah that's uh when you're going like this you take
08:15a bit of stopping don't you yeah confidence is with him he's not having to do anything stupid
08:20and we said it at snetterton and we'll repeat it again james you have to make the most of these
08:25rare times in your motorcycle racing career where everything just feels like it's flowing correct
08:29yeah and it's a lovely place to be i know if you can come and not killing conditions like this
08:35and kind of have not make any mistakes which is easy to do in these conditions uh it's a nice trip down
08:41the m6 going on i'll tell you you call it that uh what's it called westmoreland services a private one
08:46where you can get a big pie and maybe a sausage sounds like a man with experience oh danny buckens looking
08:51at me now that's where he's calling on the way back top left of your picture there you've got
08:56michael rutter good to have him back in the paddock after his incident at the isle of man you've got
09:00philip neil just there as well as they look at their riders second and third the bathens agn bmw
09:06of storm stacy and then the cheshire moldings ducati of rory skinner what i will say is anybody who's
09:12ridden a motorcycle in the way either on the road or on a circuit if you're on uh street tires and you're
09:18looking at these thinking wow getting the knee down loads a lean angle as uh stone backs it into
09:22clark's but if you've never ridden on wet weather good condition wet weather tires they are incredible
09:29things honestly you get all your feel back then you know you're not going to get as much grip as a dry
09:34surely you're not but they are good he's able to hold a line so well isn't he a bit of a twitch on
09:40exit though for skinner that will perhaps invite store back although he closes the door on him a little
09:44bit onto the start finish straight rory skinner's got that inside line these are two tall riders
09:50on the british superbike machines but skinner is up into second let's see if he can now
09:55reel in brad rye at all the weird thing about knock ill is in the way under the rights always favored
10:01tall riders i don't know why that's just coincidence or but it does he has done over the years
10:07behind these two tommy bridewell just a fraction faster than the pair on his honda doing a fine job tommy
10:14said he's back up against the wall of lake kyle ride at the moment fifth right danny kent
10:19mentioned him a little while ago and 11th now in the wet conditions he's been strong he was actually
10:24very fast here in a test in the wet fast here on friday as well he's climbed up to sixth spot ahead of
10:29fraser rogers and a pair of them are lapping quicker than those in second and third further back
10:37this is uh scott redding and co he's just dropping a few spots back he's fallen behind brooks aslam and
10:43lee jackson yeah but what baptism of fire for the number four there on uh the hager um ducati to come
10:50into this environment and he knows how competitive this is i think probably more competitive depth of
10:56field than when he left in 19 as champion uh but still to come to a quirky little circuit like this
11:02brilliant though it is it's a big ask especially when you get conditioned choked out you like this
11:06yeah he's had just about every condition thrown at him hasn't he over the course of the weekend
11:10this is kyle ride and danny kent always nice to see the mccams yamaha there up at the sharp
11:15ends they've been really struggling to to find the right setup on that yamaha for danny so far this year
11:21and it's uh even more difficult when you've got someone like bradley ray doing what he's doing out
11:26front but it's not as simple as just saying well here are brad ray settings you can't not every
11:32rider rides the same way james no completely not this is the opposite you can be teammates with
11:36somebody on exactly the same material exactly the same access to uh suspension electronics whatever
11:42and you can run a completely different bike i've seen garages where each rider couldn't ride each
11:47other's bike anywhere near they'd be two seconds off on each other's bike so you've got to go your
11:52own way we set up it's all about feeling comfortable on the bike especially when you've got what you've got
11:56225 230 horsepower if you're not comfortable with that it's going to hurt you yeah i mean i suppose
12:01a classic case in point there is someone like top rack brass gathio glue no one can get on with his
12:06settings no no i remember riding yamaha's and i could wait for a shot on the fastest man on a yamaha's
12:12bike which was at the time noriyuki hager it was so bad it was so bad i don't know how i rode it out
12:18for you for me yeah i couldn't get it out the garage without looking like a rank amateur which compared to him
12:25probably was but it was awful speaking of world super bikes of course
12:30donnington park looms for world super bike championship next weekend a bumper action weekend
12:34on tnt sports and discovery class we've got donnington world super bikes as danny kent goes
12:39through there on uh kyle rye brilliant move there from kent he moves up into uh fitzport and of course
12:44the moto gp of germany all coming your way next weekend yeah looking at damaged greens now skinner's just
12:50slipped his fastest lap of the race so far and that was slightly quicker than ray in the front but
12:55risk still got three seconds at least with three seconds you can start to control that and kind of
13:01not take as many risks storm here just holding on to a podium spot for now but he's being hunted down
13:08by tommy bridewell over the line there for brad ray 52.1 for him a 52-0 for skinner just a fraction
13:15faster again stacy of brightwell here third and fourth
13:27so much of this uh nocule circuit you've either got a lot of weight on the tyres weight in the
13:31compression or over the start and finish for kind of two or three seconds the bike's almost floating
13:36like nothing's touching the ground properly you can see when you get that head on shot it just the
13:41bike's just moving just kind of not weaving it's just searching for a little bit of weight and a little
13:45bit of a little bit of grip just saw there jamie davis uh sticking his leg out he's just coming up to
13:52be lapped so he's trying to move out of the way we're on lap 13 of 20. yeah no shame in that this is
13:56the shortest uh circuit on the calendar and to get lapped here is you know for somebody like him he's not
14:01it's not the end of the world you don't have to be much off you know you can be having the best days
14:04racing you've had in terms of you know when you've got different circuits but still get lapped here it's a
14:09short lap over the line again at 52.1 from brad ray he's responded to skinner just being slightly
14:16faster the gap's back up to 3.2 again it's ray from skinner from this battle here in third storm
14:21stacy versus tommy bridewell for the remaining podium spot yeah brad's got the luxury now of uh looking at
14:28his uh lapboard every time he goes over the start and finish and just managing that gap and at the same
14:32time you can see a little bit that's not a dry line that's just a line where there isn't actually any
14:37kind of lying water and that's what you'll be sticking to but yeah brad's in a perfect position
14:43now he can just look at his lapboard and control the race and he knows he's got a little bit in his
14:48pocket if he needs it because we've just seen that last lap you can see that the dry line starting to
14:53to form here yeah i don't think a problem i don't think uh it's a 20 lap for what we've got only six to
14:58go so we haven't got it look at that that's on the stairs that's going to cool your tires down there's no
15:03way you're going to be having any problems in the next six laps with your tires there is a move
15:07coming here from tommy bridewell for third spot yeah but you know you've got to be carefully stone's
15:12not going slow this isn't an easy pass so to get past storm who will be sticking to that dry air line
15:18let's call it uh you've got to run onto the wetter part of the track and we've seen other races this
15:22morning we saw the super teams race and you step outside that and you've less grip interesting to see
15:29what tommy does how he goes about it john haslam has made a decent progress he's up into eighth place so
15:35might just have himself a better grid spot for later on this afternoon of course that would be
15:40reverting back to a 30 lap feature race forecast wise because we've got a big day of racing action
15:46here for you at not kill in the british superbike paddock it is looking like it could rain again
15:52later but we'll just have to wait and see it's really changeable
15:55over the line we go there and we're on lap 16 of 20 now this is the fight for third spot
16:03quick word on rory skinner in second place james because this would now be if he brings it home
16:09four podiums in the last six races which ordinarily during a normal bsp season you'd be in the mix for
16:15the championship it's just very unusual to have someone so dominant actually out in front yes it is it's the
16:22corn over syndrome isn't it if you can remember a track racing back in the uh athletics back in the
16:2780s where it just so happened that two brilliant people arrived on in the sport at the same time and
16:33robbed each other of lots of good results either one of them would have dominated here comes tommy
16:37and force do you see that he just forced off off he got up the inside took the drier line off
16:44off so that's exactly the right thing you do danny kent is closing on the pair of them as well but
16:48he might just run out of time this is good step for danny in the background there that's davy todd
16:53just being lapped still just trying to find any setup at all on that 2025 bmw storm stacy still
17:00heavily on that back brake just about every corner you can see uh that the bike sliding into the corner
17:05you can either do that by uh going down the gearbox and kind of using the clutch but they won't actually
17:09use the clutch anymore especially when like storm's got a scooter type rear brake so he will leave the
17:14clutch alone once he's left the line uh so all that sliding at the back of storms bm is from the
17:19brakes hang on that's uh that's david todd half the look of it yeah he's just moving out of the way i
17:23think christian idon has done well in this race as well he's always been good in the wet he's always
17:27been good at knock hill he's come up from 18th on the grid charging down now towards leon haslam and
17:31josh brooks a trio of experienced british superbike riders on offer here meanwhile out front brad ray
17:38ticking off another lap lap 18 and 20. remind you that record of shakies 2003 eight wins on the
17:45truck will be leveled by brad ray and if brad then wins this afternoon he would break the record and
17:52that is a record that as i said has lasted for 22 years you do not see this if you're tuning into bsp
17:58for the first time this year just drink it in because he's riding perfectly but it is so rare to
18:04see someone so dominant in this championship yeah and you've got to take something out of that
18:08there's no point saying you know there wasn't much going on in the race you've seen something that's
18:11really quite special here you are here he is on the raceways yamaha he's just got a couple of laps to go
18:19steve rogers and mark woodish their top left corner looking pretty calm and cool as they have done all
18:24year and why wouldn't they and do you know what's brilliant as well is that even though they know how to
18:28run a team and then he's got a good team behind him even they can't believe what brad is doing on the
18:34that bike at times no but it needs them to do that and i think it's just coming together really
18:38well it's just it's not been fortunate but it was put together last minute after the omg uh kind of big
18:44three-man team that was going to be this year oh hey oh and did you see uh x-ray on the rear brake
18:52it's good to see sometimes we've not seen that sort of aggression from danny kent in the past loving this
18:57and this is such a good ride and this would be such a boost for the team as well and handy be on the
19:02front row for this afternoon's race on the mccams yamaha it's been a a really tough start to the
19:08season for danny kent sixth is his best result currently on for fourth he's gonna run out of
19:13time for the podium unfortunately completely but a really tough start uh to a season for a really
19:19nice bloke who has more talent than he's been showing this year just saw the the bike weaving
19:23of it on the start finish straight is that because of this dry line yeah dry line
19:27best of your wet tires going there's no problem with that it actually feels quite good because it
19:31feels safe braddy ray starts his final lap it's going to be another one ticked off he has been
19:37mustered so far further back this one could finish anyway christian idden really getting stuck in
19:46after the disappointment of yesterday brooks thought about lunch there he's just up behind christian
19:51definitely thought about a lunge on uh on haslam there this is the battle for eighth place this is
19:56going to be interesting into the airplane here because they're all going to want a bit of this they
19:59are meanwhile out front unstoppable untouchable unflappable we're running out of words and he
20:07equals the record for most wins in a season bradley ray is on top of the world he wins race two here
20:13and not kill rory skinner another podium for him and hats off to tommy bridewell and danny kenny was not
20:21far away there this is the scrap for eighth place stacy takes fifth fraser rogers an excellent sixth
20:28kyle ryde seventh and it's just haslam eight from idden and brooks in tenth spot
20:35stop scott reading there being struggling yes over the line well
20:43what can i say i didn't i didn't even see that coming i mean i thought he'd be
20:48in a bitter bother early on i i thought if somebody could get in front of him put him off his rhythm a
20:53little bit i expected him to be quick in these conditions because he's a quality rider and doing
20:58what he's done in the past you've got to be uh but actually he made that look just about as easy or
21:04easier uh than in the drive later on then he could cement his name in history and become the only
21:12rider ever to win nine in a season i'm not sure how happy shaky would be about that that could be
21:17the end of a beautiful relationship it's just incredible i said yesterday james in his 2022
21:24championship winning season he won nine races he's won nine already yeah albeit i think there was only
21:31two in a week in one of them and we were talking yesterday after the race you look at the rest of
21:36the calendar there's nowhere where you can see any weakness he's strong everywhere the yamaha strong
21:40everywhere yeah yamaha is a really balanced bike everywhere it's no it's not it's not the best bike
21:45everywhere but it certainly is a good bike everywhere there's no real weak circuits and this is a proper
21:50coming of age moment for rory skinner as well number 11 on the chesham holdings decati i think this
21:55this last couple meetings i think from donnie and i think we've seen the team get used to that decati
21:59very different bike to run every way it works is different to what the team has been working with
22:04for years uh they've got used to it uh stuart shenton is a cracking uh mechanic been around a long time
22:10uh cracking crew chief and they've got their heads around it now and so has roaring it's good to see
22:15fair place to tommy bridewell absolutely digs deep doesn't he yep another podium for him
22:20come rain or shine brad ray makes it nine but when you got when you've got this much talent and
22:28things are going your way you're on your a bike that you like with a team that works really well
22:33this is what it's like it's just on a crest of a wave of confidence here that was lovely embrace
22:37there between brad and his dad his dad's so nice real working class people just lovely family
22:43let's get the results and standings in here then from race two
22:52splash and dash brad ray wins again 4.1 seconds clear of rory skinner tommy bridewell is third danny
22:58kent excellent fourth for him ahead of storm stacy and fraser rogers best result of the year in six
23:03champion car ride is seventh with haslam eighth idden ninth and josh brooks taking tenth
23:08it's 11th place for andrew irwin points on offer as well for lee jackson charlie nesbitt luke hedger
23:15and max good
23:21and onto the championship the lead increases 41 up now bradley ray over kyle ride leon haslam for now
23:29stays in third spot but he's being hunted down by rory skinner in fourth and tommy bridewell in fifth
23:35brooks is sixth ahead of the absent glenn irwin
23:41and points there for charlie nesbitt max cook and fraser rogers with his best result of the year
23:46moves up to 13th overall
23:56so brad ray victorious again an equaling shaky's record from 2003 we will hear from the top three in a couple
24:02of minutes
24:13a treble at donnington park a treble at snetterton and two out of three so far here at knock hill it's
24:19eight on the bounce for bradley ray equals a record set by shane burn back in 2003 and shane is with our
24:27third place finisher tommy bridewell yeah danny with tommy bridewell tommy fourth on the grid third in
24:32the race another podium for for honda racing you must be over the moon yeah i'm happy shake um i'm happy
24:37it was hard for sure them conditions are hard we we knew there was you know a dry line was going to come
24:43um yeah just we're lacking in areas and i get stuck you know i get stuck i got stuck behind storm then
24:49um i don't think i had a huge amount more pace to go with rory or brad certainly but i think third was
24:55where we were so i'm happy enough for that for sure um the team's working great they're definitely
25:00working really good uh we just got to keep focused you know it's a long season we know where we're
25:04lacking um i'm putting pressure on honda certainly from now on you know i feel like i'm riding it my best so
25:12i i need i need stronger you know i need i need more so let's see um we're i'll keep the pressure
25:19on him and hopefully we'll um get some new bits soon good stuff tommy well done best of luck for
25:23race two this afternoon thank you right second place then home hero rory skinner another podium
25:29welcome back um second place this time one better this afternoon ah we'll see we'll see it's uh been
25:34an interesting one to be honest shaky it was first wet race for me on the jacate and uh yeah in all
25:39honesty quite happy with it it's been uh going in the right direction you know to be straight from
25:43the off brad just managed to get that gap on us and as i managed to get my way through the pack i
25:46reeled him in a little bit but he just had that gap and once i realized i wasn't going to be able to
25:50get to him i just uh i just tried kind of maintaining the gap to the end so it's uh yeah it's i'm happy
25:55enough with that second place is uh it's another good podium for the team the cheshire mulland jacate's
25:59team and uh yeah hopefully this last race we'll see if the weather kind of plays ball one or the other and
26:04we'll see what it brings well dryler rory what would you prefer this afternoon i don't mind
26:08either to be honest i think we can be competitive in both that's a podium in the dry race yesterday
26:12and a podium in the wet race today so uh yeah whatever this afternoon brings we'll be ready
26:16for it but uh yeah hopefully it's one or the other best of luck for the last one rory thank you cheers
26:20right then you're a race two winner race one today obviously bradley ray what a performance that
26:24was uh looked like you got your head down from the word go and uh and checked out again yeah i didn't
26:30really have a game plan at the start i um got the whole shot and and i didn't really know how hard
26:34to push i just defended the first two corners and then decided right i need to push i need to get
26:39heat in the tires i need to get there into a rhythm and and start the to build the confidence and
26:44straight away i felt good with the bike the more i pushed the more feeling i got from the tires and
26:49overall it was a good race it got a bit tricky mid-race onwards the dry patches were coming so the
26:53the front was pushing quite a lot and the rear was spinning but managed to to watch the pit board
26:58keep the gap quite the same to to rory towards the end i knew he'd struggle to to gain back three
27:03seconds um in them conditions so just tried to hit my markers um and bring bring the bike home but yeah
27:08super happy to to get this win especially in the conditions it is today that would actually brought
27:13you uh eight wins on the bounce um the same as me that's the record can you just slow down a little
27:18bit this afternoon please yeah um let's try and uh let's try and go one up and um get nine wins and uh
27:26yeah see if we can do that but no i just uh just over the moon i'm keeping my feet on the ground i
27:30know every every weekend's not going to be like this so just going to keep working and keep pushing
27:34fantastic best of luck this afternoon cheers mate thank you yeah great that brad didn't listen to
27:39shakey's advice today to roll off and just think about the championship don't worry about the win
27:43and all of that but a bit like a couple of the dry winds that we've had from brad this season danny
27:47it just seems he's got that confidence to to make the difference on the opening couple of laps
27:52i literally have no words you know like you watch him he's just come out and dominated and to me if
27:57you're his competitor you're kind of hoping wet conditions might mix it up a little bit he's come
28:02out and dominated and you know if you were his competitor you would be a little bit worried now
28:07i think and then he just yeah he just did that i think yeah but when you're riding on the sort of
28:12crest of a wave of confidence you can kind of do this i mean not that he's a brilliant rider because he is
28:18and he's on a bike that's allowing him to do that he loves the bike he's ridden the bike uh before
28:23but actually it's just so much confidence and and you know even when uh the dry line appeared or the
28:28dry airline appeared it's not a problem things moving but he's happy with it he don't care
28:32he's just managing like he was enjoying it right at times exactly exactly we all kind of thought
28:38actually listen a big spickle of rain just before the start yeah it's gonna be stacy's gonna be bride
28:42well there's someone gonna come out but he was so quick on those opening laps but neat
28:47and measured yeah you didn't see him having moments he just jumped to that limit you know 51 boom and
28:53he's got two second gap and that's not no one can do it from then because then he can control it and
28:58he's really clever when he's out front like that and he looks smooth and neat but fast you still saw
29:03him spinning out and stuff it was just a really again it's a really demoralizing ride for those guys
29:10i want him to win uh the second race this afternoon because then
29:13should we take it because i'll be buying dinner on the way i'm bradville
29:18i guess a track like this in particular danny being able to run your own line in these conditions
29:24is super important so once he made that break for everybody else it was a it was an even bigger
29:28challenge really yeah and here especially there's a lot of spray so yeah the start of that race is a
29:32lot of spray so if you can get out front obviously you can get you can you know your visors within
29:36reason clearer than everyone else's and uh but like james said like he just went out and was just
29:41pinpoint but just perfect and just hit his lines and pulled away and you know you think to yourself
29:46oh yeah it's where he had a bit of an advantage but when you look at who was battling for 10th to 15th
29:50in that race it was you know you've got some experienced guys there and he totally he totally
29:54dominated yeah i don't think it would have made any difference i'd like to see a couple of people get
29:58away in front of him and him have to make a pass in these conditions but i think he would have pulled
30:02it off maybe we'll see that this afternoon remember race three is coming up at 4 p.m but now for the
30:08eighth time in a row brad ray will take the top step of the podium back to you steve yeah thanks very
30:14much boys gonna have to reach for the thesaurus i think with brad ray um we are running out of positive
30:21things to say it is just one of those times where you have to sit back take your hat off and say uh well
30:28done and they're also running out of uh team members to bring up as representatives that is uh
30:32brad's partner sarah on the podium there tommy bridewell career podium number 109 great to have him
30:39back on the top three steps rory skinner is making a habit of this as well of late that's his fourth
30:44podium of the season and they've come in the last six races but the ninth win of the year the 20th of his
30:51bsb career bradley ray that one's for you he says to the team picks up the victory 41 points clear now
30:59and the treble treble is on so now ladies and gentlemen your respect please for the race winners national arm
31:07clemen
31:37even a splash of rain cannot stop the steam train that is bradley ray victorious and going for the
31:51treble in scotland later on this afternoon yep it would be an unprecedented feat in bsb if he
32:02could make it a treble treble this afternoon but those two men alongside him will look to stop him
32:07of course as well a couple of others danny kent in particular came through really strong danny at
32:12the end of at the end of that one and maybe another lap he would have been up on the podium himself
32:16yeah for me danny's been lacking a bit of confidence obviously in the bike the team have been looking
32:20at what to do this year to get going and i think even in the wet conditions to have a good finish
32:24you know it picks the confidence up a little bit you know you're starting it'll be starting a lot
32:27higher up in this afternoon's race and you know what it's like around here if you're there you
32:31can have a good finish from there yeah he starts from the front row that's brilliant especially
32:35conditions like this and he can just make a start but actually that tells me that it's the it is the
32:40bike it's not him that's lacking in confidence because this is a leveler kind of situation these
32:45conditions and and where ultimate setup of the bike isn't as important you've got to ride the bike
32:51you've got everybody has to do and i think that's an indication for me that he's just not happy with
32:55the bike in dry conditions for whatever reason let's find out danny kent is talking to shaky
33:00right danny with danny kent danny just had uh the first race of the day on sunday a wet race
33:06a really tricky conditions but an absolutely fantastic performance fourth place uh put you
33:10up to eight from the championship happier yeah much happier you know um just one more lap i needed one
33:14more lap so i could get past bridle out but um made the job harder for myself you know where i started
33:19on the fourth row um but yeah the team gave me a mega bike um you know the problems that i've been
33:23having in the dry it doesn't really affect me as much in in the rain so uh just happy to get a good
33:29lap time in for the next race i think i'm starting on the front row and uh hopefully try and give it
33:32to your boy yeah brad wet or dry this afternoon what would you prefer
