00:07The observance highlights the role of young people as innovators, problem solvers and leaders, driving progress from grassroots level.
00:16The Prime Minister used the occasion to reaffirm government's commitment to protecting and empowering the nation's youth,
00:22citing policy changes, such as raising the legal age limit for alcohol consumption to 21 and for gambling and marijuana use to 25.
00:34The PM also outlined upcoming priorities, including greater investment in technical and vocational training,
00:40digital skills for future jobs, expanded youth entrepreneurship support and safe spaces for collaboration and innovation.
00:49Meanwhile, opposition leader Penelope Beckles also paid tribute to what she called the vibrant and innovative spirit of Trinidad and Tobago's young people.
01:00She saluted several outstanding youth leaders whose work in education, inclusion and sustainability has gained both national and international recognition.
