Incoming PM Stuart Young promises to do more for young entertainers... a key point in his address at Woodford Square today as the PNM presented their 41 candidates in the upcoming general election

00:00It is his introductory address, hours before he becomes TNT's 8th Prime Minister.
00:19We will provide leadership, we will provide quality citizens of Trinidad and Tobago to
00:26guide this country going forward. And allow me to start by telling you, we have a fighter
00:33in Dr Rowley and I promise you, you will also have a fighter in Stuart Richard Young because
00:40I will fight for you.
00:42Stuart Young said he returned to TNT in 1998 to learn of the Piarco airport scandal.
00:49And I will never associate with corruption. And it was right there and then I took a decision
00:56to follow the People's National Movement that was in opposition. And that is when I came
01:03amongst the ranks. But it went on. I went to a couple of meetings, I was standing in
01:08the back like those people in the back.
01:11As a state attorney, he said he lost all state briefs when the UNC came into power.
01:18In the next few hours, change will take place in Trinidad and Tobago. And I stand here today
01:26and I give the commitment, not only to my party who I will fight for, I will die for,
01:34I will be in the front line for, but I give the commitment to all citizens of Trinidad
01:40and Tobago that I will represent all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. And I want, I want
01:47us, Trinidad and Tobago, to be unified.
01:52Young promises to bring entrepreneurial spirit to youth in entertainment.
01:57We just came out of carnival. We just had a great carnival. And that, that is a product
02:03that we, the next government, will find ways to market, to build, to make sure young entertainers
02:12find more space. And the way we are going to do that is the same Mohamed and others.
02:18We will call them to arms. We will call our young people to get together. We will form
02:24a committee of young entertainers.
