00:01This is an unbelievable opportunity.
00:05Lord Sugar's in the market for a brand new business partner.
00:10This process is not about a job, it's about me ploughing £250,000 into a business.
00:16Trust me, there are people in this room that are hungry for this deal.
00:21Here to do battle for his backing, 16 ambitious entrepreneurs.
00:28You told me you can do things, you lot, you can't. You're all a bloody waste of space.
00:34At stake, a quarter million pound investment.
00:38And a 50-50 partnership with a business icon.
00:42I believe actions speak louder than words.
00:46You shut up, and you shut up, and you talk.
00:50Get the gear, get the gear.
00:51It's a deal worth fighting for.
00:53We're gonna run like hell to sell those ukuleles.
00:56Potatoes, fresh from the ground.
00:59Oh, it's okay.
01:00Sixteen potential business partners.
01:03I run three businesses.
01:04No offence, you're a doctor.
01:06No, he cannot possibly say that.
01:08Twelve tough weeks.
01:10For God's bloody sake.
01:11Big smiles.
01:12One life-changing opportunity.
01:15You're fired. You're fired.
01:16I don't want to see your face anymore.
01:18You're fired.
01:28Previously on The Apprentice.
01:30I've got you two shipping containers full of imported products.
01:35It was straight down to business, touting products to London's trade.
01:40They're Chinese little waving cats.
01:43Are we ready?
01:44Jazz rushed in to run the girls.
01:46I had my hand up before I'd realised I'd volunteered.
01:48I'd volunteered.
01:49Whoa!
01:50Under Jason's command, the boys wasted time.
01:53We've definitely lost an hour and a half.
01:55More.
01:56Two hours.
01:57More.
01:58Did we try that?
01:59The girls lost their way.
02:00We don't need to look or smell desperately.
02:02While Neil's half of the boys cleaned up.
02:05We've done really well in here and we've sold out.
02:08In the boardroom, Jason's team turned.
02:11Critical, clear, concise instructions were left out right from the beginning.
02:16And despite their win, Tim chipped in.
02:18At the very start, I was struggling.
02:20He won.
02:21I don't need to shut up.
02:22Rebecca came under attack.
02:24She kind of went in and just epically failed.
02:26I didn't epically fail.
02:28While Usma fought back.
02:29If you had someone like me in your team, you would have probably made some more sales.
02:33But it was Jazz who got shipped out.
02:36Your biggest mistake was jumping in too quickly.
02:39She became the first casualty of the boardroom.
02:42You're fired.
02:43Now 15 remain to fight for the chance to become Lord Sugar's business partner.
02:506am.
02:51Hello.
02:52Good morning.
02:53This is Lord Sugar's office.
02:55Lord Sugar would like you to meet him at the old bank in Fleet Street.
02:57The cars will be with you in half an hour.
02:58Thanks.
02:59Bye.
03:00The old bank.
03:01Fleet Street.
03:02Yeah.
03:03It's a little pump.
03:04Everybody.
03:05Wake up.
03:06Good morning.
03:07Good morning.
03:08Good morning.
03:09This is Lord Sugar's office.
03:10Lord Sugar would like you to meet him at the old bank in Fleet Street.
03:12The cars will be with you in half an hour.
03:13Thanks.
03:14Bye.
03:15The old bank.
03:16Fleet Street.
03:17Yeah.
03:18It's a pub.
03:19Everybody wake up.
03:20Good morning boys.
03:22Guess I'm in college.
03:23Where are we going?
03:24We're going to the old bank on Fleet Street.
03:25Good morning, boys!
03:27Guess where we're going?
03:29We're going to the old bank on Community Street.
03:31Guess what it is?
03:33It's a pub.
03:35Wake up!
03:37We hope, don't we, Jason, it's going to be girls versus boys again.
03:41I think we're on a bit of form.
03:43We've got all the aggression out of us, haven't we?
03:45Teamwork now.
03:47Yeah, it's teamwork all the way now, Jason.
03:55Obviously, last time we did lose girlies.
03:59As a team, I definitely think we lacked a little bit of thinking.
04:03It would be stupid not to use this as a learning curve.
04:07Maybe we should just go with the tried and tested method.
04:11I'll be PM and we'll win, you know.
04:25Good morning.
04:37Good morning, Oscar.
04:39Well, this place used to be part of the Bank of England.
04:43And it's very fitting because your task today is all about making money from selling beer.
04:50Now, beer is Britain's favourite alcoholic drink.
04:54With sows totalling 18 billion pounds per year.
04:59Now, what I want you lot to do is to come up with a new flavoured beer.
05:04Now, Tim, you piped up at the last boardroom.
05:07Wanted to prove yourself to me.
05:09I understand that your business idea is to come up with a new form of drink.
05:14So, what I'd like you to do is come over here and join Evolve
05:17because you're going to be their project manager.
05:20And, Kurt, you're also in the drinks business.
05:26So, let's see if you can apply your skills to this
05:28because you're going to be the project manager of Endeavour.
05:31The team that comes in with the biggest profit wins.
05:34And in the losing team, one of you will be fired.
05:38Everything clear? Yes.
05:40Good.
05:41Well, I'll see you back in the boardroom in a couple of days' time.
05:45Flavoured beers.
05:48The latest trend in British brewing.
05:51Tap into a taste that hits the spot and it can turn hops into hard cash.
05:57Today, both teams must create a flavoured beer.
06:02Tomorrow, sell it to turn a profit.
06:05I like chilli and caramel.
06:07Just like a chilli and chocolate, so you've got something with a spice
06:09and something with a smoothness to it.
06:11I think that's a good idea.
06:12I'm glad I got the opportunity to be project manager.
06:14I do drinks a little bit.
06:16I'm more into health drinks.
06:17This is more alcoholic, but I do like to drink them as well.
06:19And the opportunity is going to come, so this is something I think I can get my teeth stuck into.
06:23Gentlemen, for me, something like a chilli is possibly a little bit too adventurous
06:27that someone would be willing to spend £4 or £5 because they might not like it.
06:31Off the chilli, then I would think of a chocolate orange.
06:33I'd like to make a case for nettles as a flavour because I think it's adventurous,
06:37I think it's exciting, I think it's daring, I think it's unusual.
06:40When you see it on a label, you'd be like, ooh, maybe I should try that.
06:43Is that going to sting my mouth?
06:45Great to be part of the girls team.
06:47With the girls in need of a win.
06:49Welcome.
06:50Thank you very much.
06:51It's for Tim to show some bottle.
06:53With the boys, Tim, there's a lot of talking over each other,
06:55so I think we should, like, go round the circle, just jot down ideas,
06:57and then, you know, let's start talking about our ideas.
07:00Agreed.
07:01I want to target the female market, something healthy.
07:03Does everyone sort of agree with that?
07:04No.
07:05No, OK, OK.
07:06I really enjoy being in a team, I thrive off other people's energy.
07:09I'm definitely a team player, I'm not a lone ranger in any sense of the word.
07:13Something like a beer that incorporates champagne.
07:15Maybe do something like, you know, the new berries, like acai, acai, cranberry, pomegranate.
07:19Rhubarb and pepper.
07:20I thought we were going to mass market.
07:21I'm looking at this.
07:22They don't really know much.
07:23They'll still be on to WKD.
07:27Tim started well, but it's now all gone a bit to pot.
07:31Everyone's all over each other, everyone's got very different ideas,
07:34everyone wants to be top dog.
07:36I really strongly think it should be aimed at men.
07:39Mass market is men.
07:40Yeah.
07:41OK, one minute.
07:42One minute.
07:43I know this is going to look weird.
07:44I'm going to overall my own decision.
07:45So, do you know what I mean?
07:46Like, I made a rash decision before.
07:47It depends, really, who's got Tim's ear, the decisions that he'll make down this task.
07:53Next job for Kurt.
07:54One team's going to have to do market research and branding and design, and the other team's
07:57going to have to go straight into the manufacturing process.
08:00Decide who does what.
08:01I want four people in that manufacturing team, because I think that's going to be the
08:04busiest of the groups.
08:05So, I'm going to put Z in it with you, Jason.
08:07What's the reason for me being on manufacturing?
08:09I don't make sense to that.
08:10Because you don't drink.
08:11We know the market because we drink.
08:13I'd rather have you on the manufacturing end.
08:15I didn't drink beer either.
08:16My skills lie in marketing design.
08:19I want Jordan to be the sub-team leader.
08:21OK, cool.
08:23I think you'd be great, Alex.
08:24I think you'll stand up often.
08:25Listen, mate.
08:26And you'll get people doing what we need to do.
08:27Seriously, afterwards you'll be hand accountable for my performance.
08:29You should be able to do the manufacturing process.
08:31Let's do it.
08:32I do feel it's being undervalued.
08:33That's fine.
08:34That's what you want me to do.
08:35Cool.
08:36My job is to manufacture beer.
08:40I don't drink beer.
08:41Cautious Kurt has taken some dangerous decisions.
08:46Personnel picked, the teams divide.
08:49Half stay in London to pour their efforts into branding.
08:53The rest head for the Midlands to manufacture.
08:56Kurt seemed that he'd made the decision about the teams
08:59before anyone had discussed exactly what their strengths would be.
09:02You don't put a cook in the kitchen who can't handle the food.
09:08First task for team leader Tim...
09:10Beer festival, food festival, or Kemp.
09:14...where to tout their beer tomorrow.
09:17The Real Food Festival...
09:18We did discount that.
09:19I think it's a really good option as in we don't have as many competition.
09:22No, no, no, no, no.
09:23We go for a beer festival.
09:25Yeah.
09:26Because that's what they're coming to do.
09:27They're coming to test all the different beers.
09:29Have a really good day out.
09:32Let me just tell you what we're thinking.
09:33It's called the Kent Beer Festival.
09:35However, it was in Putney in South West London.
09:38I personally think that that's not our target market.
09:41I think this one, yeah.
09:43OK.
09:47Midday.
09:51Banks's Brewery.
09:54Base for both teams to dream up their drinks.
09:56First thing we'd like to do is just try the beers, see how they taste at the start, so we can tell the difference when we actually add the flavours to them.
10:05And you don't worry, you just stand there and observe.
10:07Yeah, it's good.
10:09This one's malty, whiny.
10:12I think that's a bit too strong.
10:15But back in London...
10:17Chocolate's orange infused bitter.
10:19...and already decided on a taste, the boys' branding team.
10:23The whole flavouring is an orange, so it needs to be the orange colour.
10:26Yeah.
10:27With like an orange peel effect across it or something, then with the chocolate on it.
10:30Yeah.
10:31OK.
10:32Chocolate's orange, we need to know what they put in it.
10:34Hello?
10:35OK, we're going for the chocolate orange beer.
10:38I need to know what the ingredients are.
10:40I need to know what the description of the beer is.
10:42Are you using amber...
10:43Hold on, hold on one second, one second.
10:44Are you using amber bitter?
10:46We haven't had time to actually really do any of the tasting stuff, so we're kind of going blind on the tasting bits.
10:51We want the amber bitter base with the chocolate and orange.
10:54Well, hold on a second, because...
10:55We tried the amber and we tried the stout, and our honest feedback is that we preferred the stout.
11:00Yeah, we've gone for the amber.
11:01OK.
11:02Why?
11:03Why are we going for amber?
11:04We've just been tasting it and we've gone for the stout.
11:06Yeah.
11:07You can't decide how it's going to taste when you're not trying it.
11:10That's down to us.
11:11We need to move on.
11:12Yeah.
11:13We have to make the decision.
11:14It's done.
11:18Giving their ideas the taste test, Tim and his girls.
11:22That smells lovely.
11:23On hand, a range of super strength flavours.
11:27What flavours should we go with first then?
11:30From blueberry to bacon.
11:32Let's get the rhubarb.
11:34Watched by an expert, the team get mixing.
11:37Let's just deal with that.
11:38So we need a 2.5...
11:39Anyone do...
11:40Can I just ask, did anyone do chemistry?
11:41Or anything?
11:42No.
11:43100 mils in there.
11:44Let's go 0.5 of the rhubarb.
11:46These are very dangerous in their pure form.
11:49OK.
11:50Mix it.
11:51Right.
11:54It's very, very bitter, isn't it?
11:56Yeah, so we need something sweet, isn't it?
11:57Something sweet.
11:58Caramel!
11:59Yeah, I see caramel.
12:01Yeah.
12:04That's nice.
12:05I like that and I hate that.
12:07That's your final recipe, is it?
12:09We're going with rhubarb and caramel.
12:12Yeah?
12:13Fantastic.
12:14Yay!
12:18Rhubarb melt, something related to luxury.
12:20Caramel is like a luxury.
12:21In charge of branding their rhubarb concoction,
12:24Uzma and the rest of the girls.
12:26Can you imagine putting a tint of 10% black over gold?
12:29Yeah.
12:30It will push it back.
12:31Yeah, yeah.
12:32Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt,
12:33but I think you should focus on getting the label finished
12:35before we start talking about 10% blacks and things.
12:37Yeah.
12:38Sorry, I know that's good.
12:39Lou, can you let us finish?
12:40I know, but it's really important.
12:41We have a banner to do.
12:42OK.
12:43We just get the content on there.
12:45You need to let me speak.
12:46We need pumps.
12:47We need pumps.
12:48We need a banner.
12:49I'm going to draw a banner now.
12:50OK, you draw the banner and let me carry on.
12:52OK.
12:53Do it then.
12:54Talking about 10% and 5% colours is just so unnecessary.
12:57Anyways.
12:58We don't have anything on a label.
12:59Sorry, but what you were saying, David,
13:03I do find it quite disrespectful when someone shuts you down.
13:07I'm not used to that, to be really honest.
13:10Especially when it comes to creativity.
13:11Creativity is my forte.
13:13I don't like it.
13:14It reminds me of, like, a fashion boutique.
13:17I just don't think it's beer-y.
13:19Who's the sub leader?
13:20OK, we'll lead then.
13:23I've got one.
13:24What about Bitter Zest?
13:26What about Bitter Blends?
13:27Swirl?
13:28Swirl?
13:29Bit of Swirl?
13:30What about something like a bit of this?
13:31Like, a bit of this?
13:32Do you want a bit of this?
13:33Do you want a bit of this?
13:34Do you know what I mean?
13:35That would be the advert.
13:36Think about the vision.
13:37A bit of this, a bit of that.
13:38It's not bad, you know.
13:39It's brilliant.
13:40I think I'm doing most of the leading.
13:41I've come up with the name.
13:42I've come up with the flavour.
13:43So, I don't know what it is the other guys have had to do yet,
13:46but we are going with pretty much everything that I'm coming up with.
13:48I've come up with the flavour.
13:50So, I don't know what it is the other guys have had to do yet,
13:53but we are going with pretty much everything that I'm coming up with.
13:56I'd say behind every good project manager, there's a Neil Clough.
14:00Back at the brewery, recipe mixed, the boys move on to mass production.
14:06So, in one cask, we can get 40.9 litres.
14:10But first, scale up the formula to flavour their beer in bulk.
14:141,000 is flavour mix, right?
14:17Yeah.
14:18So, 2.04 millilitres of orange and 2.04 millilitres of chocolate.
14:21Yeah, that sounds great.
14:22We've got the numbers down to a T.
14:24We know what the mixing values are,
14:25and what percentages we need to mix into the beer.
14:28From our side, we've delivered what we've been asked to.
14:316.5 at 75%, is that right?
14:37Does that make sense?
14:39It does, it makes sense.
14:40It makes sense, it makes sense.
14:41It does, press it down.
14:42Trying to get the ratios right for the girls...
14:4575% rhubarb, 25% caramel.
14:47...fitness entrepreneur Francesca.
14:49That's wrong, that's wrong.
14:51That's not...
14:52That's 1% of the 100 mills.
14:54Oh, dear.
14:55I'm really, really sorry.
14:56I'm just...
14:57My brain's confused with litres and grams and stuff.
14:59I know.
15:00I know.
15:017pm.
15:02Looking really good now.
15:04Getting ahead with their brand, a bit of this...
15:08Got a great little system going.
15:10The boys.
15:11That's it.
15:12Here you are, guys.
15:13It's our first bottle of beer.
15:15Hey!
15:16Cheers!
15:17If we don't do this, guys, we've got nothing to sell.
15:20Still flummoxed by the figures, team leader Tim and the girls.
15:24Let's just go with that.
15:25Yeah.
15:26That's a 1%.
15:27Do you reckon?
15:28Yeah.
15:29Yeah, guys, happy with that.
15:32What we've done is we've made the 1% solution and added it to that barrel.
15:35So how much of the rhubarb essence has been added to this keg?
15:4022.5.
15:41What dilution?
15:421%.
15:43100%.
15:44100%.
15:45100%.
15:46100%.
15:47It needs to be 1%.
15:49Guys, this is not safe to drink.
15:51It's too strong.
15:52Too strong.
15:5330 litres lost.
15:56Time to try again.
15:58Yeah, that's good.
15:59Careful.
16:02How many millilitres has been added to that keg of the bottle?
16:04100.
16:05100.
16:06Right, so there's far too much in there, then.
16:09We mixed it with this and then we added it to the actual one.
16:12Right, we're sorry, we've ruined the keg.
16:14Please, can we have another one?
16:15Another batch botched.
16:17Bloody hell.
16:19Second cask down the drain.
16:21We're going down and the ship is sinking fast.
16:24We just can't get our heads around the logic of this.
16:27We're going to end up with no product.
16:28I'm absolutely petrified of no product and nothing to sell and nothing to do tomorrow.
16:32We are having an absolute shocker at the factory.
16:35We haven't produced any beer yet.
16:37What the hell?
16:38What happened?
16:39We've got all the ratios completely wrong.
16:42I know it sounds terrible.
16:44Oh my God.
16:45They haven't produced any frigging beer.
16:519.30pm.
16:52We're actually so efficient that we're ahead of schedule.
16:56So we've proved this to be near four hours.
16:58We've just made our own beer.
16:59Then 10 caskets of 40 litres each and 100 bottles.
17:04Not bad for a day's work.
17:06For the girls...
17:08Is this okay or is this bad?
17:10Mixture finally fixed.
17:13Time to get down to business.
17:15This team are in total disarray.
17:18They've wasted £100 on base ales because they've got all their ratios wrong.
17:22That's over 150 pints down the plug hole.
17:28Right now, we've just got to do what we can do.
17:30Do our best.
17:31We're not manufacturers.
17:32We're clearly not mathematicians either.
17:34But sales is our forte.
17:35And that's what we're going to do tomorrow.
17:36And we're going to forget about those lost casks.
17:39Overnight, teams' bottles and barrels will head south.
17:42Tomorrow, they must push pints to turn a profit.
17:548am.
17:56North London.
17:59For both teams, first chance to sample their stock.
18:03For the boys, chocolate and orange flavoured a bit of this.
18:07I think it's a nice colour, actually.
18:09It is, isn't it?
18:10Smell the orange.
18:11The chocolate comes through more and more.
18:12Smell the orange.
18:13It's good.
18:14Yeah, it does, actually.
18:15What we're going to do is we're going to use the bottles.
18:17We've only got 100 bottles.
18:18It's a collector's item, so buy one and take it away.
18:21One day only.
18:23For Tim's team, rhubarb and riches.
18:26Love it.
18:27Oh.
18:28Oh.
18:30At the factory, it was a bit of a kerfuffle and we ended up losing 90 litres.
18:34In total, we have 561 pints to sell, 134 bottles now.
18:39Yeah.
18:40Both teams have 12 hours.
18:42I'm happy to go wherever you want them to go.
18:44Okay.
18:45To sell in bulk to bars.
18:46So trade sales is you four.
18:48And shift pints to the public.
18:50Us four are going to the first four.
18:52Yeah, the first four.
18:53One, two, three.
18:54Do you want to come over here?
18:55Where am I going?
18:56You're going to the, um, the trade.
18:58I'm not going.
18:59So you're going to trade.
19:00You're coming to the, so us, us four.
19:02I thought I'd be better selling to the public.
19:04We're going to the other than trade.
19:05Luke, come over here.
19:06Rebecca, can you go over to the trade sales?
19:10Who did you appoint sub-team leader?
19:12You didn't?
19:13I didn't.
19:14You need to call that.
19:15Yeah, yeah, look.
19:16Hello.
19:17We just thought about appointing a sub-team leader.
19:20Um, I was thinking, um, I was thinking...
19:24Give it to Rebecca to do.
19:25Rebecca to do.
19:26Rebecca to call me a sub-team leader.
19:29Okay.
19:30Cool.
19:33Okay, strategy for today.
19:35Z, Alex and Jason.
19:36Yous are going to do the trade sales.
19:38Alex, if you be the manager of that team.
19:40I want yous two to really push it.
19:42Really push the sales.
19:43There's no use of both.
19:44Yeah, that's fine.
19:45I'd like Jason to make the appointment.
19:49We might as well give this bottle to the other boys,
19:51because it shows the product in a really, really nice way.
19:53Yeah, yeah, yeah.
19:54One round, one second.
19:55Great.
19:58I think that this has turned out quite well.
20:00When we are making a deal, we...
20:03Let me clarify, you're not involved with sales?
20:05I'm not involved with sales?
20:06No.
20:07Logistics and appointments, that is what you're in charge of?
20:10That's what...
20:11Okay, so you don't want any contributions on anything else?
20:13Look, Jason, focus on booking appointments.
20:15Are you overruling me deliberately?
20:17Because if you are, I mean, I want you to have that responsibility.
20:20The king's been toppled from his throne.
20:22No, no, no.
20:23Don't overrule.
20:24No, if you want to overrule me, that's fine.
20:26Jason, will you be quiet, you silly shit?
20:29Let's do it.
20:34Opening time.
20:42For Neil, Kurt, Jordan and Miles, the St Albans Beer Festival.
20:47Go on, Jordan, you can do it.
20:48You can do it.
20:49Watering hole for 2,000 ale enthusiasts.
20:53Sure you know what you're doing, Jordan?
20:56Kurt.
20:57Pricing?
20:58£4 for the pints.
20:59Yeah.
21:00£2.60 for the half and £4 for the bottle.
21:01Perfect.
21:02I've looked around as well, there's some a little bit cheap,
21:04and those are around the £3.20 mark.
21:06Price is set.
21:08I'm going to try that.
21:09Time to get selling.
21:11It's orange top notes and then there's more chocolatey base notes
21:14that come through afterwards.
21:16I'm the master brewer.
21:17I'm the master brewer.
21:18Do you see the calluses on these hands?
21:19Oh, yeah.
21:21Normally it's made with a stout, actually.
21:23I'm expecting to see a darker one.
21:26These are the one-off.
21:27This is the £4.
21:28£4 a bottle because...
21:30It's a one-off.
21:31It's a one-off.
21:32Do you see what I mean?
21:33A collector's item.
21:37Endeavour is having to compete with all the other beers behind me.
21:41Kurt's taken the decision to sell it a premium price.
21:44£4 for a pipe, well above everybody else.
21:47There you go, mate.
21:48That's £4, please.
21:49Is it?
21:50I reckon it's a big risk.
21:52Well, you know where we are.
21:53Thank you very much.
21:54All right, guys, no worries.
21:59Putney.
22:00Oh, my God, there it is.
22:02Pulling up at their chosen location, Tim's team.
22:06So, this is the Kent Beer Festival.
22:08Where is everyone?
22:09Oh, don't.
22:14Are we going now?
22:15Guys, it might go round the corner and there might be, like, thousands of people.
22:18Yeah, let's see.
22:19My fingers crossed.
22:21Think positive.
22:22Yeah.
22:23Across town, led by Rebecca, Tim's trade team try a pub selling specialist beers.
22:33So, we've got a red ale.
22:34Obviously, we're here today to talk to you about a cask, but first and foremost, you'll be wanting to know what it tastes like.
22:41It's very dry.
22:42Yes.
22:43The finish is very dry.
22:44You feel the size of your tongue sort of curling up, which I quite like in beers.
22:50Pump cover.
22:52Isn't it beautiful?
22:53It's a very nice clip.
22:54It's modern.
22:55It's nice.
22:56It is.
22:57It's definitely one of the better ones.
22:58So, with that in mind, gentlemen, roughly how many cask do you think off the top of your head you'd like to go for?
23:02I'd say we could go for four today.
23:05I would like to go at the price of 80, if possible.
23:10I think £75 is where this beer should be.
23:14Could we go for...
23:16Can I?
23:17Sorry.
23:18Can we go for 78?
23:19Yeah, we can do 78.
23:21Can we shake on it?
23:22Yep.
23:23Thank you so much.
23:24That's wonderful.
23:26That's great.
23:27Other than the fact that Rebecca likes to stick her hand in people's faces and her finger in my face on this occasion,
23:33when people try and interact, she actually delivered quite a good pitch.
23:37Over £300.
23:39Pocketed.
23:40Yeah, so the places, did you say...?
23:43Everyman's cinema.
23:44Everyman's cinema.
23:45For the girls, on to the next appointment.
23:47All right, great stuff.
23:48I'll see you then.
23:49Thanks so much.
23:50Cheers.
23:51Bye-bye.
23:52Bye-bye.
23:53Don't ask them where their place is, because then it just looks like...
23:56We don't know.
23:57We don't know.
23:58And we do know.
23:59Usma, why are you undermining me all the time?
24:01I'm not...
24:02No, listen...
24:03And why are you being so...
24:04I'm not being undermining you all...
24:05What I'm saying to you...
24:06Yeah, but you seem to want to undermine me at every moment.
24:07We know where we're going, right?
24:09And yet you're...
24:10It's not undermining.
24:11You're obviously offended for the wrong reasons.
24:13Can we just...
24:14Just get on.
24:17Next to try their brand on the specialists, the boys, led by Alex.
24:22We've got a new wheel that we've been creating.
24:25We've got a couple of casks, and so we're just looking to see whether or not you'll be interested.
24:29It's also a bit of a limited edition product, and that's why, in a sense, we're saying,
24:33it's a bit of this.
24:34Try a bit of this.
24:35Yeah.
24:36The bottle itself is open.
24:37It is empty, but, I mean, if you want to smell it, you can kind of, like, have a little bit of the...
24:41Do you have a sample that we can try?
24:43No, we don't, unfortunately, today.
24:45I know it's completely random and stupid, and it's probably, like, something that you've never experienced before.
24:50I don't sell anything I haven't tasted before.
24:52I completely understand.
24:53Erm...
24:54It's paramount for us to be able to do that, and I'm surprised you've even turned up.
25:11That was inevitable, mate.
25:13So you haven't got any sample at all to show anyone?
25:16No, you haven't given us any.
25:17I had an empty bottle of Neil, that was about it.
25:19No, but, once again, even if we had one bottle for a sample, what are we going to do?
25:22Give them a sip each everywhere we go?
25:24Well, you didn't think...
25:25You didn't think...
25:26I asked you earlier, Kurt, and, well, it was only you or Miles.
25:29You didn't ask me.
25:30You did not ask me.
25:31You're in charge of the sub-team.
25:33You can't know what you're doing.
25:34You never ask me.
25:36That's just idiotic.
25:37Send them over six bottles.
25:38I know it's going to be time getting there, but we just have to send them to you.
25:41Yeah.
25:442pm, Putney.
25:47In full swing, the Kent Beer Festival.
25:52Guys, I don't know if you've heard of us.
25:54We have launched a brand new beer product to the market today.
25:58Flavoured with rhubarb and caramel.
26:01Ask anyone who's drunk it.
26:03It's absolutely fantastic.
26:04You haven't tried it, sir.
26:06It's just in there.
26:07£3.60.
26:08Thank you very much, guys.
26:09£2.50, please.
26:11Thank you very much.
26:13Half a pint to a four pint.
26:15Half a pint.
26:16It's £2.50.
26:17Is that OK?
26:18It's all right, actually.
26:19Smooth, nice sweet finish, but not too sweet.
26:24Definitely buy it again.
26:25That's 360 points.
26:27Thank you, darling.
26:29Tell me, friend.
26:30Trades go really well.
26:31Sales flew in straight away.
26:33People are trying it and liking it.
26:35That's lovely.
26:36Really nice.
26:37We will saturate this market and then we will move on.
26:39There you go.
26:40Thank you very much.
26:41St Albans.
26:43At the Boys Beer Festival, sales of a bitter this...
26:47Can't tempt you.
26:49...bite the dust.
26:51Sorry, no, no, no.
26:52OK.
26:53A lot of people have been coming over and saying
26:54it's double the price of everyone else,
26:56which is making people walk away.
26:57Are you dropping the prices?
26:59Excellent.
27:00Hold on, hold on.
27:01I'm trying to persuade him.
27:02See what I mean?
27:03We're selling well, but we're not selling as well as we could do.
27:05We need to get through much more volume, so...
27:07I think the bigger call at the moment is,
27:09do we go on to the next venue?
27:10We've got the South Bank Festival.
27:12OK.
27:1310,000 people in.
27:14The thing is, South Bank's quite a way away.
27:16Yeah.
27:17I know it is quite a way, but...
27:18Is it not worth us, like, spending an hour or so,
27:20see what we get through?
27:21I'd say we do another keg, and then we move on.
27:23Give it another hour.
27:25Finally armed with full bottles, Zee, Alex and Jason
27:31pitch to a chain of gastropuffs.
27:33Mm-hm.
27:34Yeah.
27:35It's drinkable.
27:36How much do you guys traditionally sort of look to only pay
27:39per cast?
27:40Around about between £80 and £90 a barrel.
27:42Our price is starting at your high.
27:44We're sort of looking at 95.
27:46If you're perhaps looking at buying the two,
27:48maybe we could, you know, match your higher end price.
27:51I'm sure we can come down a little bit.
27:53How about we sweeten it and do 75?
27:5580 and 75.
27:56How are you doing that?
27:57We can't do it for 75.
27:59Jason, you're not into the figures.
28:01OK.
28:02What figures have you even got there, my friend?
28:03I like his pricing.
28:04I love it.
28:05I love it.
28:06I love it.
28:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
28:08We'll do the one cast then for 75 quid.
28:10OK.
28:11Sounds good.
28:12Thank you very much.
28:13Thank you very much.
28:14Thank you very much.
28:15Thank you very much.
28:16Thank you very much.
28:17You?
28:19Thank you indeed.
28:20Are you mad?
28:22No.
28:23What are you doing?
28:25I have there agreed a price at 80 for two.
28:28You have gone in and given it 75 out of nowhere with no interaction.
28:32So just to get your two-bit in and say I was involved.
28:35Listen, listen.
28:36You've lost us money, mate.
28:37You've lost us money and you've once again proved that you're an amateur.
28:39Both Alex and Zee are the sort of people who think that they can just talk and talk and talk.
28:44And if they barrage you and break you down, that you will simply acquiesce.
28:48The deal was closed.
28:49There's nothing already closed.
28:50You put it in with no experience, not knowing what you're doing.
28:52That's all that happened in there.
28:53I tried.
28:54And you made us look stupid as well.
28:55They are the most intolerable, moronic people I have come across in a long time.
29:01Back in Putney.
29:03Three for tenner, no?
29:04Three pints for a tenner.
29:05No, you're all right.
29:06Sales have dried up for Tim and his girls.
29:09I think we've kind of exhausted all our avenues here.
29:12It's a small venue.
29:14We're talking to people multiple times.
29:16So I think it's time to pack up and move on.
29:19Right, yeah, we need to go.
29:20We just need to decide where we're going to go.
29:21Pitching the piano.
29:22It's on the Thames.
29:23It's a nice sunny day.
29:24People will be sitting outside.
29:25Fine.
29:26We can't, yeah.
29:27Bye, everyone!
29:28Bye!
29:29Bye!
29:30Bye!
29:31Bye!
29:32Bye!
29:33It was good.
29:34It was busy.
29:35We did sell.
29:36The problem there was there wasn't enough people.
29:38It was a footfall.
29:39We had a lack of footfall.
29:40Shame that nobody picked up that it was a pub.
29:42Hello, hello.
29:43How are you doing?
29:44Not too bad.
29:45We're heading towards Richmond, sorry.
29:46What have you sold, mate?
29:47How many casks?
29:48Casks we've done one and a half.
29:49Excellent.
29:50We've sold our four at our first place.
29:51How much did you sell the barrels for?
29:52We sold them at 78.
29:53Oh, fantastic.
29:54Amazing.
29:55So we're now heading towards you to pick up some more stock.
29:58We've got two unopened, so you can have those two unopened.
29:59Bye-bye.
30:00Bye!
30:01Bye!
30:02They didn't do as well as we thought they would.
30:03South London.
30:04Met your colleagues.
30:05Nice, guys.
30:06For the boys, another round.
30:07The round.
30:08It's up to the first round.
30:09He's on the first round.
30:10We've got one round of four.
30:11Excellent.
30:12We've sold our four at our first place.
30:13How much did you sell the barrels for?
30:14We sold them at 78.
30:15Oh, fantastic.
30:16Amazing.
30:17So we're now heading towards you to pick up some more stock.
30:18We've got two unopened, so you can have those.
30:20They can take them.
30:21You can definitely have those two unopened.
30:22Bye-bye.
30:23Bye.
30:24They didn't do as well as we thought they would.
30:26South London.
30:29Met your colleagues.
30:30Nice guys.
30:31For the boys, another round with the gastro chain.
30:34Now, we've been selling it slightly more expensive,
30:38but your colleagues were good at bargaining,
30:40and they basically got us down to £75.
30:42Obviously, we'd match that price for you as well.
30:44And in terms of labelling, in terms of the pump clip, what are we using?
30:48Unfortunately, we don't have any provision for that.
30:50We would need a pump clip.
30:51We might be able to go back to the project manager
30:53and get some pump clips if he's got some more.
30:56No, no.
30:57We can't put it on the bar without a pump clip.
30:59We've got two options.
31:00Either I can bring back the pump clips to you,
31:02it'll probably take us about an hour, right?
31:04An hour and a half, maybe, even.
31:05Well, the second option is we do you a better deal
31:07and we just shake hands and walk away.
31:09How many are you looking for?
31:10One.
31:10You're looking for the one?
31:11Three.
31:13Buy three, and we'll have them with you in an hour.
31:14Come on. Let's be sensible.
31:16OK, I can bring it down to my break, you in point,
31:19and probably look about £70.
31:20£70, no pump clip.
31:21No pump clip, as it is.
31:23You think that's a good deal?
31:24Yeah, I've got it.
31:24Let's shake on it. Fantastic.
31:26They've just sold their second card.
31:28One at £70, one at £75, it's not good enough.
31:32It costs nearly £53 to make it,
31:34so the margin's small and the volume's hopeless.
31:37Don't get involved in negotiations when you're not in a negotiation.
31:40All right. All right.
31:40I've done the deal, we're shaking hands on it.
31:42No, hold up three of them for pump clips.
31:454pm.
31:47You think if we are going to do it, we've got to do it now.
31:48We pack the van and we go.
31:49We need to make a call now on it.
31:51Still mulling over a move to the South Bank, Kurt's boys.
31:55I say we go now.
31:56If you want to go, I'm happy to go.
31:58I say we go.
32:00Decision made.
32:00Yeah.
32:01Journey time, two hours.
32:07Still got 300 pints to sell and about 120 minutes to do it in,
32:10so we're going to have to sell...
32:11Right, so 150 pints an hour.
32:13Two or three pints a minute.
32:17Richmond.
32:19Out to catch evening drinkers at a wine bar.
32:22Can you taste the rhubarb, the punch of rhubarb?
32:24The girls, with their flavoured beer.
32:27The rhubarb and caramel.
32:28No.
32:29No?
32:30Oh.
32:31Not keen.
32:32Oh, no.
32:33Hi, ladies.
32:34Are you beer drinkers?
32:35Not smart.
32:37The wine bar's packed of everyone drinking wine.
32:40They're not looking to taste a new British beer.
32:42No one bought.
32:44No one.
32:44No one likes it.
32:45And they're surprised about that fact.
32:49Sales stalled.
32:51Time to take stock.
32:53You've got more chance of selling a pint.
32:56I know it's Saturday night,
32:57but I don't think we'll be able to sell that many here,
32:59so you might as well take both cars.
33:01We've got about 100 bottles of beer.
33:03Good luck, girls.
33:05Bye.
33:05Bye.
33:06Good luck.
33:10With two hours trading to go...
33:13Get the gear, get the gear.
33:14...the boys hit the South Bank...
33:17Don't tell me you're nothing yet.
33:19...for the real food festival.
33:21Chocolate orange beers, one day only.
33:24Late start...
33:25This is just £2.50.
33:27...low prices.
33:28You'll never see this again.
33:29Do you like the ring of the name, a bit of this?
33:32I came up with that personally.
33:33The morning was about margins,
33:35and this evening is about volume.
33:36£2.50 a pint.
33:37Chocolate orange beer made by myself.
33:39At £2.50, we're cheaper than almost any beer
33:41that can be got in this area,
33:43and people are enjoying it.
33:44Yeah, let's get here!
33:45Central London.
33:49This is our last chance.
33:51Facing their final appointment, the girls.
33:55Hi there.
33:56How are you?
33:56Hi.
33:57It's a good to see you.
33:57I'm Leah.
33:58We're a whole.
33:59Nice to meet you.
33:59I've had a look at your bar.
34:00There's nothing similar to this, guys.
34:02It really is just jumping out at me.
34:05One hour to go.
34:07The thing is, we're loose.
34:08Where is she?
34:09She's sat there, chatting to boys.
34:11All right, no props, guys.
34:13I've sold eight.
34:17Eight bottles, you go off.
34:18Sometimes you have to do a bit of schmoozing, guys.
34:21I know, because as well.
34:22If we can do something around the £65 mark...
34:25That's slightly lower than our price point.
34:28We've been selling this at about £80.
34:32I don't buy anything for 80.
34:33If I could do a deal, both of them, at £70.
34:37£69.99.
34:38I'll shake your hands on that.
34:40Thank you very much.
34:41Thank you kindly.
34:43The South Bank.
34:45We've got 30 minutes left.
34:47Chocolate, orange, taste sensation.
34:49Two quid a pint, that's all.
34:51Two pounds a pint.
34:52It's just two pounds a pint.
34:55They dropped the prize.
34:56What's a pint of bitter in central London?
34:58£3.50.
35:00Price matters.
35:01Even for four quid a pint, I'd enjoy that, but it's gorgeous.
35:04Two pounds a pint, what's you want, five?
35:06Selling like hotcakes.
35:07Ten minutes left to line up last orders.
35:10You're going to have a great evening with all this.
35:14So, in terms then off the quantity, I can sell you two at 90 per cast.
35:19Shall we shake on that?
35:20Yeah.
35:22Pounds!
35:23Guys!
35:23Pound a pint!
35:24A pound a pint just for the last five minutes!
35:27Where else would you get that iron on to?
35:29Come on, Bora, if you've got a great product as a one-off, I think it'll be fantastic.
35:3490 points for two casts.
35:36Well done.
35:36Thank you, Bora.
35:38Well done.
35:39Come on, guys!
35:39I'm so happy!
35:40Yay!
35:40Yay!
35:40I'm so happy!
35:42I'm so happy!
35:448 p.m.
35:45For both teams.
35:47It's done.
35:48Closing time.
35:49Come on, guys!
35:50Woo!
35:52Did you manage to shift the casts?
35:54We sold both of them.
35:56Yes!
35:57For how much for?
35:59I'll let Leah tell you.
36:01Hey, guys, we sold them both at 90 each.
36:04Oh!
36:05Yes!
36:06Go on, sis!
36:06Woo!
36:08Tonight, takings will be totaled.
36:12Tomorrow, the bitter truth in the boardroom.
36:27You can go through to the boardroom now.
36:41I'm going to be careful.
36:44I'm going to be careful.
36:49I'm going to be careful.
36:51It's my tattoo.
36:51It Alyssa has learned how it does.
36:52But me, it might be okayed.
36:53It's ilip to them.
36:54If you're quello, I'm going to follow them,
36:55it's in place.
36:56Opposito is not mana than you,
36:56But anything and if you are interested in.
36:57I have one thing, my marriage is about one thing.
36:59Where and me, when you have to go from the lover of Judas has been on the ace.
37:00It's become more competitive.
37:01But people, of course, I still propose another way to watch Ted with us.
37:03To hold your tennis as well.
37:05Shut reporters say welcome, and you have to run away,
37:07and that goes back to the debate tomorrow.
37:09To be fair with a while.
37:10good afternoon I think I'll start off with endeavor Alex sit up properly a
37:20little bit as a saying wrong we've got a backache or something sorry logic
37:23just like the place to be a little bit orderly yeah anyway who designed all
37:28this the label and all that stuff I came up with a name and I came up with a bit
37:33of this yeah it's the idea that if you drink enough of this that name becomes
37:38funny or what I actually quite like it so were you happy with the way you were
37:45split up I think there were some concerns about Z coming to the manufacturing team
37:49when he his religious beliefs don't really allow him to handle alcohol so
37:53much so what about you do you drink not massively Lord sugar to the new awesome I
37:59actually dislike beer what you're supposed to do in this process is to deploy
38:04people in the skills that they're best at I mean I just send people to a brewery
38:10that don't drink and in Z's case particularly I mean is as dry as a cream
38:16cracker in the bleeding Sahara desert so you've come up with your product you
38:21come up with your brand your next day is your selling day how did that work out
38:25you didn't get send them off with any samples well to be fair I was not an
38:30empty bottle did you get it sounds in the end just yes we did just one question
38:34on you you initially when I spoke to you on the phone you expressed that you know
38:37you had no samples you said that it was me who told you yeah you with you and
38:40miles I said about sound but then I don't know I got just one second I asked you the
38:44question and then you said it was me I said no Alex you didn't ask me then you
38:47backtracked and said actually it was miles no sorry sorry no whoa whoa there was no
38:52bad I say it to you Kurt there was no bad I say did I tell you that you could
38:57not take samples yes anyway listen or I'm trying to say you are sorry I didn't
39:03think you'd be that stupid to walk out without a sample what were you retail
39:07people doing then you you was at St Albans and you were selling it four
39:11pounds of pints two pounds sixty for a half and the bottle was hammer four
39:15pounds also four pounds according to Nick when you got to the South Bank you
39:18dropped the prices that's correct yes so you're outside in St Albans
39:22outside London and you're charging four quid a pop yeah right and then you get
39:27into London right where these people are used to playing four quid and you drop
39:30the price it should be the other way around shouldn't it the decision that we
39:33made Lord sugar was that we we had a lot of stock to sell and we had two and a
39:37half hours to sell it now how was Jason in in your selling team I'll answer that
39:44go on then okay me and Zeeshan were just at the point of closing a deal at 80 pounds and
39:50Jason piped up and said oh we'll give it to you for 75 why would you do that if
39:55there was about you I I didn't and I think that's that's the you did Jason you
40:00lost his money on this task on not one but two occasions is that true Jason I
40:05felt that they lost the plot they lost the plot yes definitely Alex
40:09disgraced you in fact Lord sugar he was swearing at me throughout the whole day
40:15swearing at you yeah not the public no no but but it it was plain deception Lord
40:21sugar they they used they used plainly deceptive tactics in order to sell a
40:25very good product you from the office of fair trading no when I said to you look
40:30Jason please listen please you know respect my decision why stay out to the
40:33sale and the final sale we sold two casks in 15 minutes as a publican as a
40:38publican say a time a gentleman so evolve Tim the reason I chose you was in your
40:46business idea yeah you said you want to come up with a drinks business yes that's
40:51right so good so based on that then tell me how you got on yeah great so we we
40:56want to try and go mass market we knew we wanted it to be quite unique we knew we
41:00wanted to use rhubarb tell me about the manufacturing process I've been told by
41:04Karen that you took took four hours trying to compute how much stuff is in
41:09there I mean who's the mathematician your fantastic was doing a mess I'm not a
41:14mathematician have GCC math and I'm a mathematician I'm just saying I'm
41:18quick numbers you ditch 90 liters of stuff didn't you but every other part of
41:22the mass we knew what we were doing I've never seen anything like it I mean no we
41:26thought I will hands up say melt we nearly melted down this is simple
41:30multiplication isn't it it is not rocket science let's get on to the second day
41:36so where'd you end up then we ended up at the Kent beer festival this so-called
41:40beer festival which actually turned out to be a glorified pub yeah right there was a
41:45conflicting views within the group whether the food festivals better or the
41:47Kent beer festival in the end it was it was a team decision that the Kent beer
41:52festival was better did you think of moving somewhere else afterwards we moved
41:55to Richmond moved into a bar in the River Thames we thought that would have a
41:58high footfall ladies I thrust Tim upon you a good project manager or not yes yeah I
42:08think yeah okay good right well let's talk about some money here let's see how
42:15this all turned out so Karen could you give me the numbers for evolve please well
42:24you spent 648 pounds 67 pence your sales to the trade were 492 sales to the
42:32public were 555 pounds 69 pence which means your profit was 399 pounds and two
42:39pence okay Nick same thing for endeavor endeavor incurred cost of 601 pounds 40
42:49pence sales to trade a lot lower than evolves 284 98 but sales to the public
42:56reached 1147 pounds 98 generating a profit of 831 pounds and 56 pence
43:04831 pounds and 56 pence and 56 pence and 56 pence and 56 pence and 56 pence and 57 pence
43:11very good indeed okay well look you might be sick and tired of beer by now but I'm going to send
43:18you as a little treat over to Belgium and I'll see you all on the next task okay off you go
43:27a little trigger mocha well evolve you haven't evolved into winners yet that's for sure and you'll
43:44come back in this boardroom and we'll go into this in a bit more detail one of you will be fired today
43:49okay off you go
43:56you
43:58this is lovely in it but it's true
44:02mark it all on there
44:04yeah yeah yeah yeah
44:06enough of the sightseeing let's go and get a beer come on
44:13is it as good as ours that's the question
44:17congratulations everyone yeah
44:19team endeavor
44:20cheers
44:21team endeavor cheers
44:23another victory
44:24two nails
44:25cheers
44:26that's a very nice beer
44:27that's lovely
44:28it's not quite as nice as a bit of this though
44:31who's idea was it to book the kent beer festival yeah where did that come from
44:44Rebecca did actually push forward the um yeah yeah exactly what I'm saying
44:49you can't just pin the blame on on Tim that's not fair
44:52you don't force me into saying I'm not forcing you into anything I'm just telling everyone to be fair
44:57I feel the blame's being pinned up myself it's definitely an alliance trying to get me to take the blame for it
45:04I'm not willing to take responsibility
45:07we lost this task purely because on location obviously Tim's an easy bet because he's project manager
45:12Tim had the final say
45:13I had I did have the final say
45:14Tim would always have the final say because he's the PM
45:17can't always let the buck stop with Tim I think it's really really unfair
45:20will you send the candidates in place
45:34yes Lord Sugar
45:35Lord Sugar will see you now
45:37well Tim you were the project manager let's just talk about the manufacturing mess first of all cost you 123 pounds
45:54in raw material cost that you had to throw away I want to know how you was unable to work out what you needed to make in scaling up the mass production volume Francesca was was in charge of the numbers I've never had any
45:59manufacturing experience I'm not sure about kilograms to liters that's not what I do
46:17we were all in a flat because we when we when we when we can we start with this we okay I ignored it I'll tell you is it we or is it we were a team we're a team and we're we we work very well as a team so that's why I like to say we instead of I
46:31do you know I'm sitting there looking at you seven ladies here right who have got through into this process on the basis that I'm going to give 250,000 pounds to somebody right to go into a business 50-50 and you're sitting there you know dumbfounded looking at this process
46:49on the basis that I'm going to give 250,000 pounds to somebody right to go into a business 50-50 and you're sitting there you know dumbfounded looking at me in a dumb with dumb expressions on you here if you want to stay in this process I want to hear from you I'm not going to waste my time right talking to a load of dummies really don't want to speak up you understand I think it's anti-location Lord Sugar
47:18but you ended up in a glorified pub we did we did and that was that was an oversight and he made that another oversight yeah it was an oversight and who made that decision at the end of the day we we made the decision the decision ultimately I made the decision because I was the one however you know it was strongly suggested me by by Rebecca that we should definitely definitely go there I think the problem is that Tim is too much of a nice guy and Tim doesn't want to upset anybody you don't want to upset anyone but you have to remember
47:45no no no no no no hang on everybody let me have a word I want to say something the dossier was open we were flicking through it I pointed at it and you nodded is that supposed to mean me entirely taking responsibility
47:58a food festival you don't have any competition it was an obvious choice me I swear we were saying well that's what we did this has been building up for some time and this is nothing to do with this task at all
48:07really but it's great we can deal with this it's great it's about time this is it is personal you've been you've been undermining me the whole time while we've been doing this
48:17do you not think that's undermining that's not the first time you did I'm surprised you even have the awareness to be fair
48:22really oh my god I'm losing it here ladies I'm losing it a bit of a problem between you two you know there is not not a problem to be really honest Karen
48:32when we were yesterday what's the problem Rebecca um I find her very difficult to deal with she's very rude to me
48:39uh she has been very rude to me on several occasions um that is so unfair and I think everyone will back me
48:47that Karen that is really unfair that's not fair well I know you're all in this is first we're talking
48:52but four of you are yeah so that's fine there's actually been two times you've sucked up her hand
48:58you made the decision I didn't make a decision on the location I have never seen such a bloody mess
49:07in the first two weeks of this process as what I've seen today if ever in my life I've come across a team
49:14who literally couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery it's it's it's now I'm sitting here thinking to
49:21myself you're all a bloody waste of space at the moment I meant the basic fundamentals counting
49:28calculations locations where you gonna sell these are elementary things you can't sort these things
49:36out now in week two god knows what's going to happen to you when we get down the line in week
49:41eight and weak line I can't see any of you being here you better get your act together
49:45Tim yeah who are you bringing back into this boardroom I'm being back in Francesca and Rebecca all
49:56sugar right this is a total mess I've got to tell you the rest of you go back to the house
50:06Rebecca I've got no time for tittle tattle because I tell you what if you can't get on with people that
50:22could be a problem okay so I don't hear any more about that you three step outside I'll call you back
50:27in shortly okay what is all that with Rebecca what's the matter with her when you bring strong
50:44women together you do get opinions but the point is is that business is business she sold 312 pounds
50:52worth of beer to the trade more than anybody Tim I get the feeling that he he had no control of this
51:00thing Francesca messed up on all the calculations the whole thing from start to finish went Berkeley
51:08two reasons numbers and locations can you send the three of them in please you can go through to the
51:19boardroom now Rebecca I can detect that he was a bit upset about what went on in the previous meeting
51:35that's life that's the kind of bitchiness of life that's business yes you need to convince me whether
51:41you can hack this process because it's a tough old game I think I can hack this process I think I am
51:47you need to convince me really I do think I can hack this process I behave in a very professional
51:53manner I am a team player I wish to bring out the best in myself and in other people I have a business
52:01plan I feel passionate about which I would like to show you by no means have you seen all of my
52:08different skills in business Tim I'm wondering really whether you did lead the team at all where every
52:16single idea or every single thing you came up with is actually one of these other people kind
52:22of walked over here no and then we did come to team decisions there was no you know autocratic right
52:27this is what we're gonna do like I was put on the girls team people who I don't know people whose
52:31strengths I don't know I hadn't had that first task to get to know each other on them you have a
52:36male come around and try to boss a group of seven strong girls around I don't think would have gone
52:41down very well we had we came to group decisions and everyone was happy and that was the main decisions hiding from the
52:45fact that actually didn't make any decisions no not at all and what's Francesca doing in here and
52:51Francesca's here due to the problem we have with the correct amounts of flavoring I thought that task
52:55had been delegated successfully to someone who who could come up with a figure and you know not crack
53:00under pressure when the figures were questioned I dispute I cracked under pressure because the
53:05only person was keeping the cool and just trying to think it through logically was me Tim and who's
53:10responsible for the failure of the task out of the three people here other three people here it's not me
53:15and I would I would have to say it's Rebecca all right look at the numbers Rebecca was your best
53:19seller right okay well actually on the whole of this task she sold more than anybody else did including
53:27the boys all put together all right so unless I'm missing the point somewhere what was she doing it and
53:33the reason Rebecca's in here is choose the primary location I think it's unfair that Tim is putting the
53:38responsibility of the location down to me ultimately is project manager who do you think should be fired then
53:44it should be Tim in in this instance Tim had the ultimate decisions on the locations and I think
53:49pinning on Rebecca is wrong I'm 23 I do make mistakes but I am a fast learner I am learning all the time
53:55this task has taught me so much and these mistakes that I won't make make again if you know I do have
54:00these hands which I think I do I want to show them to you I want to prove them to you they sound very
54:04enthusiastic I'm very enthusiastic you've got your own business already you're an interesting candidate and
54:09Francesca heard lots of things waiting wrong well what did you actually do right what did I do right
54:15yeah I priced up all the bottles I priced up the pints I'm asking you whether you think you're
54:21responsible no I don't think I don't think I'm on this on this mess up in the factory on the numbers
54:26right absolutely not it's him that's responsible for choosing the wrong places to sell the product we had
54:31well Tim you have been honest in accepting responsibility for lots of things that have
54:39gone wrong in this task you're a young man you've got a lot of enthusiasm and I think we have a lot to
54:46learn also Francesca you worked hard you did make the product but you got your numbers wrong this was a
54:57disaster Rebecca I'm concerned about you I got to think about me running a business okay and I don't
55:08need trouble I don't need aggravation I don't need people that that are sensitive to that degree you've
55:17given me a bit of a dilemma here Tim your business plan was having to do with drinks so I'll give you
55:28the job of being the project manager and you make a mess now you're young people can make mistakes but
55:37you didn't apply any thought to this task I've got nowhere else to go here Tim you're fired thank you
55:48Lord sugar you heard what I said didn't you I did yes okay yes business is business right okay sort it
56:05yeah mm-hmm off you go to the house I'll see you on the next time
56:08the team was all just partly responsible fair with the task but at the end of the day I did mess up big
56:36time and I had to be accountable for that I do feel they haven't seen the last of me this new drinks
56:42business will be launching so watch out she said a few things that she shouldn't have brought into
56:53the boardroom because it would just make her look really stupid and silly she said that I personally
56:58attacked her do you think it's going then just think that we went to the wrong location and that's
57:03Rebecca's fault come on Rebecca is not responsible she chose to go to that location
57:09so what happened I think when it came down to it they're kind of it was between me and Tim's very
57:30very sad to see Tim go it was getting a little bit you know too many guys in the shower in the morning
57:36anyway just need a few more of you to go now now 14 remain Lord sugar search for his next business
57:47partner continues next time your task this week is to come up with an innovative flat pack piece of
57:56furniture the tidy siding screw-ups there's not largely a box on wheels as an idea as a concept this is
58:03ingenious I'm really not convinced put downs not you Jordan somebody average size do you guys know
58:09what you're doing stop trying to pass the buck all the time right and in the boardroom a hammering
58:15this is rubbish this idea is rubbish you're fired
58:19that's the apprentice next Wednesday at nine on BBC one BBC two is the go-to place now to hear from
