00:00May the peace, blessings, and mercy of God be upon you
00:07There was a small shop outside the university I was attending in China.
00:13I decided to go there to buy some vegetables and fruits because it was close to my house.
00:22The lady who owned the shop was always cheerful and always greeted me with a smile on her face.
00:32In accordance with the ancient Chinese wisdom, if you can't smile, don't open a shop.
00:39One day, after I bought my stuff and paid her,
00:45She returned the rest of the money to me, and there was an increase due to a calculation error.
00:51I told her the total real price and returned the excess amount to her.
00:58She thanked me in disbelief.
01:01After that, every time I went to buy my necessities from her,
01:07She used to choose for me the best vegetables and fruits she had.
01:12When I choose something that has a defect, I don't see it, and she picks it up herself and replaces it with something better and better.
01:22This reminds me of the story of a woman who used to put a loaf of bread on her window every day for a poor, bent-backed man.
01:34He passes by every day to take the loaf of bread and leaves without even thanking her.
01:40A person reaps what he sows.
01:45Not thanking her even once made her angry.
01:51She even decided once to punish him for his ingratitude.
01:58So she put poison in the loaf of bread and placed it on her window.
02:04But before the man could pass by and pick up the bread, the woman felt remorse.
02:11She felt guilty, so she took the loaf of bread and threw it into the fireplace.
02:18And I put another loaf of bread instead that did not contain poison.
02:23The man passed by, took the loaf of bread, and left as usual without thanking her.
02:30Rather, he repeated his usual phrase: “A person reaps what his hands sow.”
02:36The woman endured his rudeness and reminded herself that she was doing good in order to please her Lord.
02:46Not to get thanks from anyone
02:49That night, Tariq knocked on her door.
02:53She opened the door and found that it was her son who had returned from a long journey and years of absence.
03:00He was so thin and emaciated that he almost fainted.
03:06She threw herself into her son's arms, brought him inside and asked him what was wrong.
03:12Her son told her that he had recently been in dire straits.
03:17He had no home to live in and no food to eat.
03:22And he was about to die of hunger
03:25If a beggar had not passed by him today, with his back bent, carrying a loaf of bread
03:31I feel sorry for him
03:33So he gave him the only loaf of bread he had with him.
03:37He told him: I only eat this loaf of bread every day.
03:42A lady puts it on her window.
03:45But I give it to you because you need it more than I need it today.
03:51As soon as the lady heard this, she collapsed on the seat.
03:56I realized what could have happened.
04:00If she had let the poor man have the poisoned loaf of bread
04:05Here I realized the meaning of the phrase that the poor man was repeating.
04:10One reaps what one sows
04:14What we do comes back to us.
04:18If good, then good, and if evil, then evil
04:22Just like our echo
04:25It comes back to us without any increase or decrease.
04:28If our words are beautiful, beauty will return to us.
04:32A person reaps what his hands sow and reaps what his lips speak.
04:40Happy Ramadan
04:42May the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
04:45Think of your duty as you think of your right
04:51Work to achieve perfection
04:54Not seeking fame or reward
04:57Do not expect more from people than they have the right to expect from you.
