00:20and working on a lot of projects. But what I will be showing in this video is my birthday and I
00:29visited a hotel which I did film so I can share it with you guys. Another accessible hotel room,
00:36this time in Amsterdam. It's the Apollo Hotel, it's part of the Marriott, so it's a nice hotel.
00:46And I just wanted to treat myself and stay there. So for my birthday we went there and I would like
00:54to show you this room. So if you're ever in Amsterdam and you want to stay in an accessible
01:02hotel, with an accessible hotel room, I think this is a pretty good option.

01:11Welcome to the accessible room at the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam.
01:31So it's a bit tight. Over here. I can manage. This is the bed. It's a king size bed. I can
01:49actually transfer. So that's good. There are two bathrooms. Or bathrooms, I'm sorry. Two bathrooms.
01:58What do we have over here. It's very spacious.
02:28Okay, so we have an accessible toilet on a decent height. There are handles here or grab rails.
02:50These are bad rails for the shower. I guess the toilet are handles which go up and down. That's great.
03:00We have a shower chair attached to the wall. I mean, I didn't test it yet, but it seems solid.
03:08Yeah. And we have a sink here which is great because I can just grab it. And it's good because I can use it properly.
03:26And it's not too big. But it's just great. So far so good. It's spacious. So it's actually warm in here.
03:38That's also nice. I mean, there's actually a window so you can shower while, you know, just looking outside. Would that be a thing?
03:52Maybe a bit weird. Maybe a bit weird. But yeah, there's a lot of light as well. So far so good.
04:02I guess this is a bit tight here. Like even right now I'm kind of stuck. This is not a very good space.
04:24It should be a little bit wider to be accessible for different types of wheelchairs because my wheelchair is not not very big or anything.
04:36But for me, it's also small. Anyways, it's doable. I guess that I will be sleeping on that side because I cannot fit my wheelchair in between here.
04:48And yeah, that's something I would. It's not like super accessible that part.
04:58I guess that this is on a good height. There's a mini bar hairdryer for ironing, which I never do.
05:14There's a locker, tea, water. I guess it's all fine. Over here we have a second bathroom, which I won't be using, but I guess my boyfriend can take his showers and do his thing here.
05:32So, yeah. Who doesn't love the bathrooms in one room, right?
05:40Okay. So I've been to many hotels where the bed is too high, which is not very convenient if you're a wheelchair user.
06:06I never experienced baths that were too low. So I guess this bed is on a good height.
06:16I do like the ceiling here. I mean, it looks snake skin print.
06:28Well, it's definitely original. I have not seen that before.
06:32What is also good is that they have like wooden floors. So if there's too much carpet, it's inconvenient when you're a wheelchair user.
06:44So I think the water floor is a great way to roll.

07:08And you can actually, there's a parking space over there. We park the car there and you can enter. You have to pay.
07:26So it's like 45 euros a day. That's normal in Amsterdam. It's pretty expensive.

10:25So that was the Accessible Hotel.
10:29And I also visited the Microbia, and that is a museum about everything that lives, but it's not very visible to the human eye.
10:41And that was interesting.
10:43It was a very rainy day, so our plans changed.
