00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:02Most showers easing away but remaining unsettled across Scotland.
00:06Still plenty of showers moving through here and also some quite strong gusty winds, particularly
00:10across the far north of Scotland.
00:11That should push the showers eastwards across the country fairly quickly before longer spells
00:16of rain start to move their way through during the early hours of the morning.
00:20But elsewhere across England and Wales, showers easing away and it should be mostly dry, plenty
00:24of clear spells overnight too, but what you might notice is that it's going to feel a
00:28lot milder compared to last night.
00:30Some towns and cities, particularly across the south, not really dropping much past 15,
00:34maybe even 16 degrees, but still fairly cool where we see the stronger winds across the
00:38north.
00:41Then into Friday, once again Scotland really catching the short straw.
00:44Still plenty of showers drifting their way eastwards.
00:47These could be quite heavy and blustery at times, particularly across Shetland and Orkney.
00:52But elsewhere across England and Wales, Northern Ireland, seeing plenty of sunny spells, much
00:56lighter winds too, and it is going to be feeling warm in that sunshine as well, particularly
01:00across the south and southeast where temperatures could be 25, possibly even a localised 26 degrees
01:06Celsius.
01:07But once again, always that bit cooler in those strong winds across the north.
01:13Later into Friday evening, we need to keep an eye on this low just to the northwest of
01:16the country.
01:17Once again, seeing a squeeze in those isobars dragging in some more frontal systems.
01:21So, it's really the northwest as we head for the beginning of the weekend that's set to
01:25see further unsettled spells of weather.
01:27So, some heavy blustery outbreaks of rain drifting their way eastwards, but this feature
01:31does tend to weaken also.
01:33So, as it moves into northern parts of England more, it's just kind of cloud and perhaps the
01:37odd shower.
01:38But it's really across Scotland once again where we see those blustery showers continue
01:42to move through.
01:43And yes, there may be the odd one or two where we see that frontal system across northern
01:46parts of England, northern parts of Wales, but mostly it should just bring in an influx
01:51of cloud.
01:52And elsewhere, particularly to the south of this feature, there's still going to be plenty
01:54of sunshine.
01:55And feeling warm, temperatures up by a degree or two once again, so highs of 25, 26, maybe
02:00even a localised 27, particularly across the southeast, but still very blustery across
02:06parts of Scotland and still the risk of those heavy showers here.
02:10Then for the second half of the weekend, all eyes further out into the Atlantic.
02:14We're keeping an eye on this area of low pressure that's slowly drifting its way towards the
02:18country.
02:19This is actually ex-tropical storm Dexter moving its way through.
02:22And once again, it may bring some heavy outbreaks of rain, some strong winds to the northwest,
02:27but notice across the south, high pressure holding on.
02:30And there's a good chance we could see some quite hot temperatures by Sunday and into early
02:34next week.
02:35But for more information on this weekend's weather, you can catch Alex Burkill on YouTube.
